Deactivating/Dismantling Equipments - effects on Preventive Maintenance

Dismantling a piece of equipment means uninstalling it from its current installation location. It may be done in order to:
1. Install it at a different location.
2. Indicate that the equipment is not in operational use and is going to be stored at some storage location for a while. Some other equipment will be installed in its place.
In case 2, the equipment is not subject to breakdown maintenance. However, preventive maintenance may still be carried out. The scheduled preventive maintenance plans will keep generating call objects for this equipment.
But, preventive maintenance may not be needed to be carried out for certian kinds of equipments while they are not in operational use. To stop generation of call objects agaisnt such equipments, we Deactivate the equipment master record alongwith Dismantling it. Call objects are not generated for equipments that are deactivated and hence no preventive maintenance will be carried out until they are Re-installed and Activated.
I need to know if we are handling things in accordance with standard practices by following the measures described above. Secondly, I am concerned about the validity of the assumption that whether preventive maintenance is needed for a certian uninstalled equipment depends on the kind of equipment it is (electrical, mechanical or whatever).
Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Farhan Shaikh

Another way doing that would be scheduling your PMs on basis of the functional location. So then, no matter what equipment is installed, you get a call for the maintenance of the current equipment.
But this is based on the assumption that there is always an equipment installed.

  • Preventive maintenance for equipments installed in plant area

    Dear experts,
I want to implement Preventive maintenance for equipments installed in plant area.
Requirement is that i should be able to create a maintenance plan & schedul it as per the due dates. Maintenance order should get created. This order can be linked to the service contract item for which service entry sheet is created & released.
I want a control on service entry sheet creation if the order is not settled or the related inspection lot which is generated is not confirmed.
Please give advice ,how to proceed.
    Regards
    Vivek Deshpande

    Hi Vivek,
Not sure on clearly what u need .. but have a look at some of the plans and examples of their usage for better idea ..
    1. Types : Time Based or Performance Based
    2. Single Cycle Plan [Time Based] : Ex u2013 Maintenance of a Vehicle every 03 months
3.Single Cycle Plan [Performance Based] :Ex- Maintenance of a Vehicle every                                1000KM .
4.Strategy Cycle Plan [Time Based] : Ex- Maintenance of a Vehicle every 03                                            months, 06 months etc.
5.Strategy Cycle Plan [Performance Based Plans] : Ex u2013Maintenance of Vehicle                                                                          every 1000km , 2000km etc.
6.Multiple Cycle Plan with single cycle set [Time or Performance Based] : Ex u2013                                                    Maintenance of a vehicle every 3months or                                  500km
7.Multiple Cycle Plan with Multiple Cycle Sets [Time of Performance Based] : Ex- Maintenance of a Vehicle every 3months or 500km and 6months or 1000km
    8. The above given are explained with callobject as Maintenance Order. For getting inspection Lot then you can use order type PM05 calibration order in your Maintenance Plan and MO gets created as per the plan cycle and inspection lot gets created once u release the MO ..
    9. If you want MP related to service items then create MP with service procurement as Maintenance plan category in IP41 .. for remaining you can put MO as Maintenance plan category  .. for details refer to SAP Help ..

  • User exit IPRM0002 for preventive maintenance

user exit IPRM0002 for preventive maintenance
has anyone used this user exit? or BADI: BAdI: IPRM_MCP_SCHE_CHANGE  ?
I seem to have some difficulty in knowing how to use these....
I need to basically be able to influence a calling date for next PMorder to be opened but documentation is not explanatory and, even if I do know what these exit/badi are used for, i do not understand how to use the parameters provided.
    can anyone help?

    Hi,
I dont think you would be able to test the exit if you dont implement them for the user exits simply passing the parameters wont help, actually there is a process of implementing a USER-EXIT i suppose u would already be familiar to it, I order to activate the exit you have to create a project in CMOD transaction and assign the enhancement to that and then also create the include that is avaliable inside the FM and there you would be able to put your code.
For the BAPIs ,yes the control should go inside the BADI once you put a breakd point inside the right method but there to you need to implement the BADI and then you can put your code in the method for the effects to take place and you can test.
The detail process of implementation are already avaliable on SCN, It seems that you dont have developer authorizations so i would suggest to take help from some one who has, Best of Luck:).

  • Consider preventive maintenance schedule into PP order capacity planning

    Hi PP experts,
My client's requirement is that when a preventive maintenance order is created in PM module for a particular work center (used in production) on a given date, NO production order (which is processed on that work center) should get released or confirmed. In other words, the capacity should be blocked at all for the subject work center.
Could you please guide how to make this effective?
We are using discrete manufacturing with capacity planning. At the time of PP order release, system shows capacity situation so as to decide whether go-ahead even with overloaded capacity.
    Regards,
    HKV...

First, you should assign the PP work center in the location tab of the PM equipment which refers this workcenter.
Secondly you should enter the sytem condition in the task list of the equipment.
During preventive schedule  the work center  will be reserved by PM orders for maintenance and this can be seen from capacity planning from PP side.

  • Scheduled date in preventive maintenance

    Hello ,
A preventive maintenance order has been created by a maintenance plan using strategy (maintenance package) : task list has 3 operations , each has 1 hour of work duration.
In the order, at operation level , in scheduled date , i do not have 1h of work duration but 1h06.
For 1rst operation :"earliest scheduled start = 07:00:00" and "earliest scheduled finish = 08:06:00"
    2nd operation : "earliest scheduled start = 08:06:00" and "earliest scheduled finish = 09:12:00"
    3rd  operation : "earliest scheduled start = 09:12:00" and "earliest scheduled finish = 10:18:00"
I checked work center, task list, ... but i can not see where it comes from....
    Someone has an idea?
    Thanks,
    Pete

    hi
While defining the capacity for the workcenter ,i think you have defined the Length of the break ,system will also consider the same for scheduling .kindly check .which is be distributed evenly on the eintire working works
supoose you have defined the capacity starts from 8.00 AM and ends on 17:00 hrs with 100% utilization ,length of the break is 1:00 hr
then effective operating time is 8:00 hrs only remaining 1 hour will be distributed to the total available hours .Hence if you put 1 hr in the operation system will calculate the strat time as 8:00 AM and end time as 9:07:30 ie ( 1 hr/8 hrs =7.5min for each hour)

  • Table for Preventive Maintenance Generated Maintenance Orders for Equipment

    Dear All,
I want to Extract no of Preventive Maintenance Orders (PM02) for a month (according to Planned Date)  for a set of Equipments.
Which table I should refer so i wll get the Orders with specific order type , for specific equipments for a month ( Date Range).
    With best regards,
    Narendra

for that use the following tables for report generation:
AFIH : for equipment number selection and order numbers
AUFK: For order dates and other data
    T003P: for order type.
In a single you will not get all the answers. You have to join three four table for this. try using these tables. Or also you can create a query for this using SQ01.

  • Preventive Maintenance on Required days........

    Dear friends,
In our plant we are doing preventive maintenance on Saturdays only. We have four critical machines and monthly preventive schedules for these machines are; first Saturday of every month for first machine, 2nd Saturday of month for second machine, 3rd Saturday of month for third and respectively...
Please guide me to handle this scenario in SAP.
    Regards,
    Bhupender

    Bhupender,
One simple way would be to create 4 separate Facory calendars, each one having only the respective saturdays as working days. For ex: create the first Factory calendar which just has the first saturday as working days. Then create the Next Calendar which has only the second saturday as working days and henceforth for the thrid and forth calendar.
Now create a Maintenace plan for each one of the critical equipments and associated the separate factory calendar to them and set the frequency to be 1 day.
This should enable you to achieve what you are looking for.

  • Doubt in Scheduling of performance based preventive maintenance

    Dear Experts ,
This is with respect to scheduling of performance based preventive maintenance.
I will put my doubt in example so that it will be easy for you to understand.
I want to perform a preventive maintenance for every 100 litres of fuel consumption.
annual estimate is 7200 litres , that means 5 litres a day.
so as per plan , for every day 5 days , maintenance needs to be performed.
same will be appear after scheduling in ip10 also.
While updating in the measuring document , I know that , if 100 litres is updated before due date , then order will be generated in the current date itself.
I just want to know how system responds , if 100 litres consumption takes more than 5 days , will the system generates order as per schedule date or will it wait to complete for 100 litres consumption ??
    Regards
    Keerthan Kumar

    Greetings Keerthan,
    That depends on:
    1) The frequency that you input Measurement Documents in
    2) Your Call Horizon on the Maintenance Plans
    3) Your Scheduling Period in your IP30 Deadline Monitoring variant
Generally, SAP will adjust the schedule based on the Measurement Documents entered for the counter (1) to account for readings (usage) which are higher or lower than estimated. However, it will NOT reschedule any Orders already called. So to make sure the dates are usually adjusted to your usage, you want frequently input MDs, a high Call Horizon and a short Scheduling Period.
SAP will determine a scheduled due date for the Order based on the Annual Estimate and the readings. So, if the due date is in 5 days and you are on a call horizon of 100% and a Scheduling period of 3 days, for example:
    a) if you do not input Measurement Documents from Day 0 onwards, the Order will be generated due for Day 5 when you run the IP30 on Day 2
    b) if you input a Measuring Document on Day 1 indicating that less than estimated or no fuel was used, the due date and call date may be pushed into the future and the Order will be generated after Day 2.
    c) if you input the MD after Day 2, this Order will already have been called and will not be rescheduled, but subsequent calls might.

  • Taking wrong cost element in Preventive maintenance.

    Hi Pm Gurus,
I am running Preventive maintenance scenario. I have created T/L with External service as control key (PM03) and given description of external service (no service no), entered material group, cost element, price, Purchase group etc. when the call object is generated from the mainteance plan which is assigned with the above task list, i am not able to see the cost element in Maintenance Order external services view, the purchase Requestion is getting generated automatically in the maint order, when opening the PR the account assignment differs from what i given in the T/L. so at the time of settelment it causing error.
Kindly let me know what settings i have to check.
I have already created default profiles for external services, material procurement and assigned to the order type.
    Thanks in advance
    R. Loganathan

As mentioned in above threads, you can check for cost element in OBYC.
Cost element for External Service will be derived in following ways.
    1. Create Default Value profiles for External Procurement
    2. If you have maintained material group & valuation class in service master, it will check in OBYC for GBB. Double click that. In the next screen, search for VBR with the valuation class mentioned in service master. Cost element should have been maintained, that will be filled up.
    3. If you have not maintained any valuation class in service master & you maintained material group in service master, it will check for valuation class in IMG => Material Management => Purchasing => Material Master => Entry aids for Items without Material Master. In that screen, search for material group which has been in service master. Take that valuation class. Do the same step as in step 2.
    4. Neither Material group nor valuation class in service master, do the same as step 2 & for the VBR without valuation class would have been maintained. Cost element will be taken from there.
    5. If no data is maintained in above settings, then the cost element will be picked up from task list.

  • Changing basic finish date in Preventive maintenance orders

    Hi Experts,
My requirement is to block PP work centre when maintenance schedule the equipment for preventive maintenance. I am making system condition as zero in generated preventive maintenance order but basic finish date is not changing in the order automatically. Can anybody please explain how to bring this? Finally my requirement is system should change basic finish date and time as time given in operation of task list.
    Thanks in advance.
    best regards,
    Srinivas M

    Hi Praveen,
I have done all setting and tested but there is no change.
My client requirement is like this - whenever maintenance plans are scheduled, for the scheduled dates, production capacity should not be considered by production. We could do this for breakdown orders but not happening for PM orders unless we change the finish date.
The issue is to get the finish date automatically when scheduling maint.plans with respect to values given in operations. Please suggest how to get the  basic finish dates automatically.
    best regards,

  • Operations in Preventive maintenance order has to release then only order has to TECO

    Hi,Friends
is there any standard in R/3 that as soon as i am not releasing Operations in Preventive maintenance order, order should not be TECO
when ever i have released Operations then only Preventive Maint order has to be TECO
    Your response is highly appriciated
    Regards,
    Kumar

    Kumar,
    I'm still confused...
When you release the order header (REL), then all operations are also set to released (REL). You cannot individually release operations using the system status.
However, you can set user statuses for each operation which are configured in the IMG.
    Please give more details.
