Deactivating Flash 8 license on Mac (for transfer)
Now that Adobe has assimilated Macromedia, I cannot find help
anywhere on how to deactivate Flash 8, Dreamweaver 8, Fireworks 8,
etc., on my Mac, to move it to another machine. There used to be a
"transfer/deactivate" option under the help menu, but it is no
longer there under any of the applications. All I can find on
Adobe's website is for Adobe applications (i.e., Photoshop, etc.)
and it basically says to run the uninstall program to deactivate
the licenses. But there is no uninstall program for these
Macromedia applications that I can find.
I had to rebuild my machine earlier this week, and couldn't
deactivate the Macromedia licenses (so I just formatted it and
installed the OS again), but when I reinstalled, sure enough, it
required me to activate them. I really don't want to lose my
"count" of activations when I have to rebuild, or when I eventually
get a new computer... Anyone have any idea how to deactivate these
latest Macromedia apps on a Mac?

Also, check Tools>Addons to be sure the latest plugin is enabled

Problems setting up my TC. Have just bought new iMac(OS 10.6.8) and TC. I tried to set it up. iMac cannot find it. I have tried direct connection with an ethernet cable to Mac or direct to my wireless router but nothing. Just a flashing orange light. Help for a simpleton please. Have tried reseting TC, but to no avail.
Just updated from 10.6.7 ---> 10.6.8 and had the same issue. Despite having done a clean install from 10.6 and got everything back off my TC, now Time Machine can't find it!
Green light is on, ethernet cable conected, network CP says its conected but nothing. Airport Utility can't find it. Hit reset button, Orange flashing light but still no show in Airport Utility.
But I know its there, as rebooting from 10.6 SL disk shows the backups are still ok?
Hmm, ideas anyone?

Regards MarieIf you have Lion and wireless you can use Airdrop to copy files back and forth. (You don't need an internet connection, just two reasonably recent Lion machines with WiFi cards.)

Having been without my Mac for a month I've been using iCloud mail.on a PC. The new mail boxes that I set up there do not automatically show up in Mail on my replacement Mac. Is there any way to transfer them from ICloud mail to Mail? Thanks.
sure pretty simple. make a backup of your current settings

then restore device from old backup you need pics off of
then import pics to computer

you may need to save pics to camera roll first
then restore the new backup and sync pics back to phone via itunes

I'm in the process of transferring files fm pc to mac, all connections verified and migration asst is working. HW, my outlook contacts nor email are listed as an option for transfer. Any1 else have such a plm? If so, how did you resolve?
I used O2M from http://www.littlemachines.com to move from Outlook to Apple Mail.

ThanksNo. that only applies to "current" versions, meaning CS6. You will have to buy the commercial CS6 upgrade and make the switch or just buy a new license if you are still eligible for S&T pricing.

When I try using Migration Assistant an error appears on my pc... "An error occurred while preparing your information for transfer." My mac just continues searching for the pc and yet both are on the same wifi. I'm not getting anywhere! Please help!!!

For some reason, the Flash Player on my MAC Pro stopped working, I've checked the install on my Adobe Flash Player and the are current, but the plug-ins don't seem to be working. Can anyone help me get it working?
It happened w/ my MacPro 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon about 5 months ago; tried everything I could think of including multiple downloads of Flash, and hadn't seen any solutions here. Adobe insisted many times that I download & update, but the newest vers. wouldn't work on the computer.
On checking Adobe/Flash was reading the computer as being an earlier model. So the new version of Flash wouldn't work w/ it. Snow Leopard 10.6.8 was being read correctly but not the computer model (can't remember what MP model it was reading).
Nothing worked. So -- a very old PC trick: If nothing else works get the hammer out and bludgeon it-- might work. So I reset everything by putting the Snow Leopard install disk in, held down 'C' on restart and let it run.
Didn't take anything off the HDD first, just ran the install disk over everything.
The experts on the forums are probably cringing right now & I'd like very much for them to jump in. Love to know how my computer model was being mis-read. All I can say is, for the brave and desparate, it worked for me. Something to keep in mind.
It helped that I had a new computer on order & have 2 backups, one being mandatory. Might work only the one time but worth a check.

I am trying to download the English version of the "flash professional 8" trial program for "MAC" but when I press download, nothing happens.
I can install the french version and currently am testing the french version, however I am not fluent in french, nor do I wish to improve my french skills.
If I could get a a working English version of "Flash Professional 8" that would be great!!

And it's even somewhat pointless from the company's point of view - ActionScript 2 and other legacy Flash features are long deprecated. Unless they only use this for doing offline stuff, I see no reason why anyone would use such an old version. You might inquire on the Flash forum if someone has this old version and might be willing to share the installer via Dropbox or so, so you could at least use the 30day trial for a while, but that's probably as good as it gets.

Microsoft Office 2004 will not work on any Mac running Lion or Mountain Lion. You will need to upgrade to Office 2011, buy the less expensive iWork apps from the App Store or use a free office clone like OpenOffice or NeoOffice.

When I try to install flash player on my Mac, I get to the panel that asks for my name and password, but it will not take my password. Tried changing the password, but same result. Suggestions??

Calendar List not displaying all dates after iOS 5.0.1 OTA update
Following the recent iOS 5.0.1 OTA update, in list mode my calendar now only displays days on which I have entries. Previously it showed a list of all days. Can this be changed by a setting somewhere or is this a bug in the iOS?
