Deactivating PS Elements

Hello! I have an HP Pavilion dm4-2180us that came with Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements pre-installed. I've had it for about a year with no problems, until recently, at which it tells me I have to reinstall (error 6).
Because the software already came with my computer, I've no idea how to reinstall. I tried uninstalling it, but the window told me it was a good idea to deactivate the product first so I can reinstall on this computer or other computers with my Adobe ID. However, I can't actually open PSE or PE without it giving me the error?
Any ideas on how to successfully uninstall/reinstall it so I can get it working again? Or how to deactivate it with this problem?
Thanks!

You need to contact support directly for activation/deactivation and other installation issues. It’s usually possible to start a live chat, if an Adobe agent is free, and often to get the problem fixed right away. You will need your serial number. If an agent is not immediately available, refresh the page a few times until you see the green chat button, or try at a later time.

  • Deactivating Photoshop Elements 10 on a computer I do not have access to

I recently sold my old Windows laptop without realising I hadn't deactivated Photoshop Elements 10. When I go to activate my product on my new Windows laptop it says I have reached the activation limit. I went onto Adobe Support and it told me to Contact them by clicking a link. I clicked this link and it just took me back to the previous page where I had to enter my product and the problem I had with the activation/deactivation. This is really frustrating as it feels like I'm going around in circles in an attempt to contact Adobe.
This is the first page where I entered my product information: Contact Customer Care
This is the second page, when I click Contact Us it takes me back to the first page: Error "Activation limit reached" or "Sign in failed" | Adobe products
    Thanks in Advance

Here is a link for chat support.  You may have to wait until after the weekend to get help, but they have the ability to deactivate for machines that are no longer accessible.

  • Deactivated Photoshop Elements

I deactivated Photoshop Elements 10 from my old Mac to install it on my new Mac but I don't find the serial number. I bought the CD at Best Buy at least 2 years ago. Is Adobe keeping record of the computers IP so they can see I am not cheating? I would like to be able to use the software on my new laptop. Thanks.

  • Need help Deactivating Photoshop Elements 9 on old computer

    Okay, so, here we go.
Originally I had Elements 9 installed on my old computer, but that computer suffered a massive hardware failure and I am unable to deactivate Elements 9 on it.
On this computer I am currently using I have Elements 9 on it as well.
However, I have a new computer that I would like to have Photoshop Elements 9 on, but cannot due to having two active instances of the program on 2 other computers.
I have tried deactivating the program on this computer, but am unable to do so due to Photoshop.com no longer being supported and moved over to Adobe Revel, so I am unable to SIGN IN TO DEACTIVATE THE PRODUCT ON THIS COMPUTER.
I've PAID for this product. I don't want to have to pay fistfuls of money just for an updated version I don't even like, I want my PSE9.
Does anyone know of any way that I could deactivate the program so that I may use the activation key on my new computer instead? Because it's 2 days from no longer working.
I've tried contacting an Adobe agent through live chat, but I sat there for at least an hour with nobody ever showing up in the chat.
I just want to continue using the program I PAID FOR. This is ridiculous. I can't even USE one of the computers it'[s activated on any longer, and this current computer is so old that PSE9 lags on it when I try to draw something.

Only the adobe agents can do this. You will just have to tough it out with the chat session.

  • Deactivating Photoshop Elements 8 on an old (dead) computer

I'm trying to install Photoshop 8 on a second computer. I get a message saying that I already have two copies installed and have to deactivate one. In fact, I have only one copy installed, but I had originally installed it on an older computer, which I replaced in 2011 because the hard disk failed.
The Photoshop Elements support page indicated that I had to start a chat about this problem, but the chat window pointed me back to the support page. I also saw a page that said I could deactivate a copy on a computer I no longer had access to from within the program itself on the computer I did have access to. However, I don't see how to do this. There is a "Deactivate" link under "Help", but it only allows me to deactivate the copy on the computer I'm using.
How can I deactivate this original copy, when it's on a computer that hasn't been usable for two years?

We've been having internet problems, so I dropped this Photoshop thing for a while. I thought my problem had been resolved, but the solution didn't really work. I tried to install Photoshop on the second computer. I got a message saying I already had two copies installed. There was a link to click to indicate that I had deactivated one copy, which I clicked. Then there was a message saying that Adobe would be contacted to verify my number of copies. After a short pause, the message was that I could use this copy only for a certain number of days, I think 15.
I'll try the chat again and hope to get it working this time.

  • Deactivating Photoshop Elements 4.0

I read the posts about deactivating Elements 8.0 but they do not seem to apply to Elements 4.0. which came bundled with an Epson scanner.  How do I deactivate 4.0?  Edit does not show a deactivate option.  Thanks.

Once again, you can't deactivate it because it never had activation in the first place. No need to deactivate it. Back then adobe was still on the honor system.

  • Deactivating Photoshop Elements 6

I want to install Photoshop Elements 6 on my new computer and deactivate/uninstall it from my old computer. I have been unable to find the "deactivate" button under "help" or anywhere else. Has anyone else had this problem?

As far as i know, most versions of photoshop elements 6 don't have activation.
(it would be under the Help menu in the pse 6 editor if it did)
If you want to keep it on your old computer, you can, as adobe allows installs on two of your own computers at the same time.
(of course you can unistall it from your old computer if you want)

  • I de-commissioned my previous computer and erased all my files without deactivating Premiere elements first installed on my replacement computer. I now have a laptop with elements installed but cannot activate it because it supposedly is already installed

How can i activate the copy on my laptop without re-purchasing?

Activating the program is different, depending on which version of the program you're using -- and you don't say which version of the program you're using.
The program allows for two activations of the program at a time. If you've already used one activation on your new defunct computer, you'll need to contact Adobe Tech Support, explain the situation and have them release one of your activations. (Note that this is a user-to-user forum, so we aren't able to do this. You'll need to contact Adobe Tech Support.)

  • Elements 12 to 13 upgrade pricing?

I have Elements package installed on my windows laptop for a while now and love them both?
I bought a new iMac and wanted to install them on it, but I can't.
Apparantly i need to upgrade to Elements 13.
But it appears like there is no upgrade price, just the full price regardless weather you are a current customer or not.
I don't have them very long, and it may well be my fault for not checking the most up to date version when buying it (I bought the boxed version in a store)
    Any suggestions?
    Cheers,
    JJ.

The key to the matter, as I see it, Adobe no longer is selling Premiere Elements 12. So, how can it give you a discount on something that it does no longer sell.
Also consider that upgrade pricing is an Adobe pricing break that does not extend to authorized resellers.
If you have a boxed version of Premiere Elements 12, then you have an installation disc for Windows and another installation disc for Mac.
Typically there is but one purchased serial number that should come with that.  And, you already have it installed and activated on two of your Windows computers. Max allowed by Adobe. So, if you want to get started with Premiere Elements 12 Mac, consider deactivating Premiere Elements 12 on one of the Windows computers.
Then decide what next. Next looks like you purchasing another license with a new serial number for a 3rd computer. There are some online places that still seem to have 12 in stock.
Have you shopped around outside of Adobe for 12 boxed? You may be able to find it at a lower price than what you were looking for from any Adobe's upgrade pricing.
    Please review and consider.

  • Photoshop Elements 8 - can't deactivate

I am unable to deactive Photoshop Elements 8.  Don't see that version on any list.  I had to install a new hard drive and all software was wiped out.  When I reinstall Photoshop on the same computer it does not recognize that it is the same PC.

This is actually the Photoshop forum, but you probably get the same two activations with Elements.  If they have been used, you have to phone customer support, tell them about your crash, and they will reset your activations.   One thing I am\not sure about is that Elements 8 must be a few years old now.  Photoshop CS2 can no longer be activated as the activation servers are no longer running, so you have to download a special version and serial number.
Here you go.  Check out this thread

  • Why can't I reinstall Photoshop Elements 9

I've contacted tech support about deactivating Photoshop elements 9 from an old computer and reinstalling it on a new computer. I have done everything I was told to do but I still cannot install it properly on the new computer. The old computer had Microsoft Windows XP . My new computer uses Microsoft Windows 7. Is  this the problem?
