I will upgrade my iMac from Leopard (OS 10.5.8) to Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.x), thence eventually to Lion (OS10.7.x). I use Photoshop CS5 (the latest update of version 12) on this machine and will not be installing it on another machine, and I do do not want to uninstal it for this single machine OS upgrade. Following mixed messages on deactivation-actiavtion, I would like to know whether I need to deactivate PSCS5 in OS 10.5.8, then following the upgrade to OS 10.6.x, activate PSCS5. Chats and phone calls to Adobe tech support lead me to suspect the people I 'talked' to do not fully comprened the question. I have been told that the user only gets 2 or 3 chances to upgrade if one does not deactivate for an upgrade, or there is no need to deactivate then activate, just go ahead, or this cannot be done without some undefined intervention by Adobe (whose respondants do not seem to give a clear answer). This leads me to think that Adobe tech support cannot assist. I would be grateful for a clear definitive answer. Thanks in advance. Allan.

First of all, thank you for replying so promptly to my posts this morning!
I can't remember how I got the software on his computer, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't through migration assistant.
I was looking into doing an uninstall of InDesign and a fresh install. However, I initially downloaded the CS5 suite digitally and I can't find out how I am able to perform a fresh install of InDesign. Do you know where I find this info or gain access to download just InDesign again? I can't seem to find anything in my Adobe account that shows where I might do another download.

Dual-boot deactivation/activation help needed...

Having learned that with ADOBE there is always some nightmare scenario, I am stopping in my tracks until I get more information.
As mentioned in another post, I created a dual-boot - WinXP-64-bit and Win7-64-bit - setup so I can eventually migrate over to Win7.
I installed (non-trial) Production Premium CS4 in the Win7 partition without any problems. Opened PrPro and exported media using Encore and my preferred codec. So far, so good.
As expected, I got the "Excuse the interruption" message telling me that there were already two copies with the same serial number running - I have one on my laptop and the other is, of course, in the Win XP partition on the same computer & hard drive as this new install.
I chose the "30 days to fix the issue" option.
This was so I could migrate my preferences, keyboard & other presets to the Win7 install and confirm their proper operation before activation.
PITA #1 - In XP, presets, prefs, etc., are located in "c:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Adobe\Premiere Pro\4.0\."
In Win7, they are located in "c:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Pro\4.0\. This is a hidden folder, so you must go to Folder Options\View and check "Show Hidden Folders." I think this is now in Control Panel\Settings ( I got there through a Help link so I'm not sure, but it is not in the folder headers "Tools" anymore).
PITA #2 - After copying my PrPro presets, prefs, keyboard settings, etc., to the above location, I tried to open PrPro in Win7 to confirm everything. This was about an hour after my previous session. But now I no longer get the "30-day option!!!" Only "Activate" "Buy a License" or "Quit!"
PITA #3 - Since I don't know how Deactivation and Activation work, I am not about to go any further. Since both copies are on the same physical computer and hard drive, they obviously cannot both be online at the same time. I am concerned that whatever happens at Adobe's end of this will not see the deactivation or will not properly activate the new install and then I'll be left with nothing operational. If they cannot keep track of the start date of the new install and wiped out the 30-day test period in an hour, I do not have much confidence that the activation process will go so well. I think there are a limited number of activations as well, and I don't know what that applies to or how that works. I can see a scenario where I have to re-activate the Win XP partition to try and track down something and then get stuck there because I've used up my activations and can't re-activate the Win7 partition.
Anyone have any insights on any of this...???

Deactivation / Activation Photoshop Elements 12

I have just installed PE 12 on a new Windows 8.1 computer. I then decided I needed to reinstall in a different location. I searched for deactivation processes and from what I read on the Adobe site it seemed that I would be asked to deactivate as part of the uninstall process. I uninstalled and at no stage was I asked to deactivate. I reinstalled in a new location and was asked for my serial. I provided this and install was successful. I may need to do this uninstall / reinstall again and I am concerned that because there was no deactivation option I may have used up one of my installs under the license. I also saw one page on the Adobe site where it says deactivate is an option in the program itself under the help menu. It isn't.
I have also tried to find a way to contact / chat with Adobe itself under the 90 day free support chat option for new products but have been unable to find a way to do this.
So I am afraid this is 2 questions: do I have a problem with having used up an install - and is there anything I can do about this
How can I get to Adobe itself under the 90 day support.

Deactivation does not happen automatically when you uninstall, nor does it get presented as an option when you uninstall. Before you uninstall you would go into the program and choose Help -> Deactivate to deactivate the program. At tjis point the program is not longer useable, but is still installed.

This code was written as Programm without involving the BPS planning functions, because it was meant to be included in the Process chains.
When you wish flexibility, for example to operate it in the Web using planning functions then, then you have to :
1) create a planing function of type exit.
2.a) You would then move the code in the "Init exit function". Fill the code mentioned below with necessary changes.
2.b) The second exit function would be then an empty function module.
3) In the Web Interface Builder you would create a Button component of type "Function Button" and set the properties to the planning function you created in steps 1-2.

Glasspane event handling problem when window is deactivated - activated

Hello everyone!
I have a strange problem concerning glasspane used to block user input. The situation is the following:
I use a JDesktopPane inside a JFrame. In the desktop pane there are placed multiple JInternalFrames. I use a JPanel as glasspane with dummy listeners to block the controls in one of the internal frames. This all works without problems.
Now if the JFrame becomes inactive (for example the user switches to a browser window) and the I go back to the java application (frame becoming active again), the blocking no longer works. This also happens if a JDialog pops up - so in general this happens if the DesktopPanes host window becomes inactive and active again.
The glass pane is still there (see it as it is translucent coloured), gets the events (I can see this from debug output in the dummy listeners) but also the controls underneath the glass panes do react now to user input.
I already tried to watch the JFrame with a WindowListener and reinstall (a new) glass pane when it becomes active again - no effect. Now I am really helpless - maybe there is something very obvious I am doing wrong?

Deactivation/Activation problem

I have purchased a new imac (my third that I have had Photoshop installed) and it will not let me activate PS. I did not deactivate the first imac and that has been gone for years. I have tried to deactivate it on my second one but I just get an error message that it could not deactivate. So I am at a loss how to activate on my third imac? Any suggestions please?

Broadcasting your serial number to the entire internet probably isn't going to help things in the activation department.
Can a moderator delete that?

Billing Block Deactivation/Activation

AFAIK, in the 'item overview' tab of t-code VA02, there's the Billing block field. To deactivate just choose the 'blank line' from the dropdown box and save. To activate, choose any other suitable entry from the same dropdown box,except the 'blank line'.

If you mean computers that are authorisedthen individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but if you have 2 or more computers authorised then you can log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.
If you mean computers and/or iOS devices that are associated with your account (e.g. by using iTunes Match or automatic downloads on them, or by redownloading past purchases on them) then as long as they have been associated for at least 90 days then you should be able to remove the association via your account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

Photoshop CS3 - need to uninstall & reinstall but deactivation is grayed-out

Photoshop CS3 was living happily for quite a while on my system running Windows 7 32-bit, however, lately, upon closing, it freezes, requiring a cntrl-alt-del to force quit. It has the 10.0.1 patch, the latest. A repair re-install did not fix the problem, and I am not aware that I installed anything recently with which it should conflict. I have tried the various tips & tricks on the forums related to refreshing caches, etc., but to no avail. Something's broken that I hope to fix with a clean install. Buying the latest cloud version of Photoshop is not in the budget ... I just want to get back to where I was ...
I believe I need to do a complete uninstall of PS CS3, including manually deleting all registry entries related to CS3, Adobe, Photoshop, etc. + running cleaner utilities. While not too happy about that, I'm willing to try it. Here's the problem, I suspect that I will also need to deactivate first to prevent some issue with Adobe to later re-activate the fresh install ... the trouble is, part of what seems to be corrupted are the menu items relating to "deactivate", "activate", etc. ... they are grayed out, so I have no way to deactivate before I attempt a complete uninstall.
A few questions;
Is there a known issue and fix for a missing deactivation / activation menu options for PS CS3?
Is there a way to manually preserve the activation key and remove all the other possible corrupted files and registry entries so that I can do a clean install?
Is there another way to fix a corrupted install of PS CS3?

Yes, I had already googled and found all those 3rd party solutions before I posted my original question ... I'm not too comfortable with those, rather, I am looking for a "cleaner" solution directly from Adobe. By the way, I re-installed PS CS3 again, then ran the CC Cleaner tool BEFORE uninstalling ... it did function doing this, it removed PS CS3, but left other parts installed (Bridge CS3), I then re-installed PS CS3, but the result was no better than using the Windows uninstaller.
The more I get into this, the more I think I may need a fresh install of my Windows 7 and all applications ... problem is, I still can't deactivate Photoshop CS3 so as to re-install it on a fresh system build ... that is, unless the Adobe server would recognize my computer's motherboard s/n and Windows 7 key and allows automatic re-activation ... does their server go by number of current activations or does it remember particulars of each current activation so as to "refresh" the activation on a clean install to an old computer previously activated?
Is it just me, or is this too many hoops to jump through to fix what used to be a solid piece of software? Is there some recent Windows patch identified as conflicting with CS3 software?

Photoshop Elements 7 Deactivation?

I'm trying to deactivate Photoshop Elements 7 on my old computer so that I can load it onto my new computer. When I go to the Help Menu in either the Organizer or Ediort I do not find a Deactivation selection. Please tell me how to do the deactivation/activation. an Adobe Chat Session on Sunday. I was using Photoshop Elements 7 on
Windows but did not have the disks as I purchased a downloadable version in
2009. With the help of the Chat person I was able to download it again from
the web onto my new computer as there was no way to deactivate/activate
that version. Everything is working fine now. Thanks again for your

Accidentally there is a big hurdle before me, I have found that all my event linkage's are active in swe2 for almost all the work flow templates. please help me how could such a situation araise with out even activating any thing from SWDD.It happened in Quality & PRD only.

HI ALL,
The cause of issue is not yet identified however, there is a solution for deactivation / activation from DEV .
Go to SWE2 and in the menu option we find the Transport option, copy all the line items/Records into the Request and place for importing into the desired server. Since it is a maintenance view please be care ful of changing the entries of the table manually rather please follow the method mentioned above.

HTTP Error 400 when trying to view a report

We use MS Dynamics CRM 2013 SP 1 Rollup 2 on Windows Server 2012 and separate SQL Server 2012 on Windows Server 2012 as well.
Only one user is affected by the issue. Other users with exactly the same Security Roles in CRM and Groups in Active Directory are not affected whatsoever. I've read that this issue may occur if the user is a member of too many groups in AD but in this case
it's only 7 groups.
This is the second time the issue occures with the same user. The first time it was resolved by deactivating/activating the user in AD. Not this time, unfortunatly.
I have no more ideas what to try and where to look. Help would be greatly appreciated.
