I have DeActivated my Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and wanted to verify last night .... but chat Tech seemed to misUnderstand and Activated it. Now, I am giving to a friend to use since I do NOT use it anymore. I have also Uninstalled it from my Mac.....and I do NOT want to re-install just to DeActivate again. Question: I do not want the friend to have major issues inStalling it. Will there be a problem? It is a LEGAL PURCHASED COPY licensed to me under me. The chat tech did not seem to understand that I was just verying suspend Activation. Please Help! Thank You!
This is a user-to-user forum, so no one here would be able to do anything about the issue, but logically, it seems you have two choices: 1) install and deactivate which seems much easier than calling Adobe if you still have the serial number, or 2) call adobe and tell them you can’t deactivate and you need them to because you need to transfer it to a new computer. It is a common problem to have a computer crash and not be able to deactivate through the software, itself. You’re allowed to activate it on two computers at once, as long as only you use it and not at the same time. I wouldn’t call Adobe just to VERIFY it has been deactivated.
If you’ve used the PSE9 serial number to install an upgrade-priced PSE10/PSE11, then you can’t legally give it to someone else because you’re still getting the benefits of that version, yourself. If you’ve paid full price for each version then it probably doesn’t matter although you might want to check the terms-of-service and licensing agreement to be sure.

Tried to use adobe photoshop album starter edition 3.0 today and tell me to register
It tells me to register and i will get an email with a 'unlock' code shortly.

It is a common misconception that Starter Edition 'stores', or copies, your files into it. But the program does not move or copy files at all, rather it scans your system's My Pictures directory, and generates miniature versions of your pictures (called thumbnails) so that you can browse a 'flat' list of thumbnails of your photos, overcoming the inconvenience of having to go into separate folders in Windows Explorer to have to find files.The thumbnails, as well as any tags, and Albums that you create in Starter Edition are all stored in the Photoshop Album catalog file, separate from your pictures, and your pictures remain where you originally copied them to your computer.
If you use Photoshop Album to subsequently download files from a digital camera or scanner, the default location where the program will create those files would be in the My Pictures>Digital Camera Photos folder. But if you do NOT use Photoshop Album Starter edition to download files from your camera, then you will find that folder empty.
The thumbnails in the Starter Edition catalog will exist, even if you decide to move or delete the original photos that were added to the program. This will cause files in the Photoshop Album catalog to become 'disconnected' from the original photos. To reconnect the files, you can use the File>Reconnect Missing files command to see if the program can locate the original files in a new location, and once again re-link the catalog thumbnails to the files they once referenced.
Since Photoshop Album has been discontinued, I recommend that folks find an alternative solution. One alternative that will preserve most of what you've created in Starter Edition is the Photoshop Elements 8 trial. Install that, and it will automatically convert the Photoshop Album catalog to a current format, and the program will not time out, as Starter Edition did. If you want to purchase more Editing power, you can also choose to purchase the full program, but it's not required.
If you are like many who have come to this forum wondering how you can get to your photos, now that the program has become locked or expired, don't worry; your photos have never been moved by Photoshop Album; they remain wherever you intially put them, on your hard drive. To get to them, you can navigate your file system using Windows Explorer. They are typically in your My Documents>My Pictures folder. Unable to uninstall Adobe Photoshop CS5 12.1.1 via Control Panel (Win7)
I was wondering if anyone can help me we currently have at least 100 users of Adobe Photoshop CS5 12.1 and it is deployed via SCCM 2007. I was able to patch Adobe Photoshop CS5 to v 12.1.1 using AAMEE and we are on the process of having it scripted so it can be pushed to our end users running Windows 7. I was successful in creating a new package using AAMEE but I cannot uninstall photoshop from the Control Panel (Programs and Features) the right click uninstall is disabled. Please note that I am a local admin on the Windows 7 machine that I am working on. Is there a registry key that I need to modify to enable the uninstall feature?
Is uninstallation disabled from the control panel by default when photoshop is packaged using AAMEE?
As of the moment if I need to uninstall Adobe Photoshop I need to run this command ‘msiexec /qn /x ‘Photoshop CS5.msi. I have tried to research on the internet but I was not able to find any solution. I am hoping you can help me when you get a chance

WilliamI have found a solution to this problem. Install the files in safe boot mode. Here is the how to guide:
Part One:
With past attempts or even previous versions of Adobe CS can be still lying around on your mac, in order to remove the bits and bobs needed in order for a clean install you need to download the 'CS5 Cleaner Tool' by Adobe. This can remove all previous version of CS right back to CS3. This could be the problem effecting you download. This tool can be download from here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/829/cpsid_82947.html
YOU MUST USE THIS TOOL BEFORE MOVING ON TO PART TWO.
Part Two:
To start up into Safe Mode (to Safe Boot), do this:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).

Part Three:
Now that you have let your machine boot up in Safe Boot.
1. Locate the .dmg installation file. This can take a while to load, but be patient.
2. Click to open the .dmg.
3. Carry on with the installation as you normally would.
4. Sit back and enjoy until its 100%.
Once it has installed you can now restart your machine and boot up as normal. Log in and then it should be there in your applications to use.
I have spent nearly 2 days myself trying to figure this out, and finally i have found a solution. I hope this helps anyone who has come across this problem themselves.

Unless your photos are stored in a Dropbox or other on-line type file site (as well as your computer) you cannot expect to see them on another computer. The same goes for the catalog.

Help. Need to reinstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 and Premier Elements 12. Both are pre paid programs that I had on computer, however the system needed to be reset via recovery and these programs were erased> Since I already forked out the cash for these I'd like to be using them as I am an artist and need the programs. Deactivating and reactivating? Adobe photoshop elements 12 for new computer
I am considering buying a new computer, therefore upgrading from windows 7 to window 8.1 and thense to windows 10 when it is released.
I have read that I need to deactivate and reactivate? my Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 once I get my new computer because I can only have one on a computer at one time.
I am however, unsure how to do this.I am also unsure how I would go about getting my Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 onto my new computer, daft as that might sound, especially as I will be using windows 8, which I don't have as much knowledge of using as 7.

Just user to user....based on past and current history, Adobe Tech Support is not going to help you with a technical issue which is preventing you from using your purchased serial number for Photoshop Elements. Version 12 is not the current version. And, the Adobe Tech Support is limited even for the current version which is 13. If this matter involves a purchased activated serial number trapped on a crashed computer while you are trying to install on a 3rd computer, then probably Adobe Chat Activation can be of assistance. I have been using Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 for along time now. When I first used the program I had a different printer than I have now. Although I changed printers I never removed the software from my old one. Now this was never a problem until today. When I choose a printer I still had option to use the old one but always chose my new HP Envy 5530 and Adobe never had a problem printing from that new printer. However today I decided to remove my old printer from my computer and now my Adobe cannot find my new printer. How can I make it find the HP printer?
