Deactivation dw cs3???

I've bought two new computers, and when trying to install DW i get a message I have to deactivate dw in the old computer. That should be done by choosng "inactivate" in  Help, but when trying that I find no such choice under help. ´What to do?

There is no "inactive" option under help.  It's called "Deactivate".  Just click that on your old computer and then activate it on your new computer.
If your old computer is inaccessible for any reason, please call Adobe.

    Hi pipper88,
You can reinstall CS3 and enter the serial number to activate the software.

  • Deactivating Photoshop CS3

I have just got a new laptop and want to install Photoshop CS3 on it, however it wont letme Activate the product until the copy I have on my old machine is deactivated. The problem is I cant deactivate the old copy as the Deactivate optionis not visible in the help menu, where it should be.
Can someone please tell me how I'm meant to deactivate my old copy?
    Thanks in advance
    David

This activate deactivate crap is making me hate Adobe. I can't use the $800 in software I bought at work because I can't deactivate my old work computer and put it on my new work computer. I use web standard and PS CS3 both at work and at home. 1 install of each piece of software in 2 different locations, home and work, just as the license says I can. I upgraded my home comp's drive to an SATA so I deact and react just as normal. Worked fine. Got a new computer at work, tried deactivating both pieces of software and it won't let me. So now my new work comp can't run the software I shelled out $800 for because I can't get it deactivated on my old work comp.
With the amount of computer changes and drive upgrades I do in a single year it makes it impossible to use their software anymore. Even when I follow the process by the book. I can't deactivate my old work comp for some reason so now I'm screwed. What happens when I upgrade my home comp this summer? Now I won't be able to use either pieces of software at all.
Way to go Adobe. Great way to alienate your customers who have been paying for your software since day one!!

  • Spontaneous Deactivation of CS3 on Win 8

I have CS3 Design Standard, installed on my Windows 8 computer for some months. It spontaneously deactivated itself and the repair activation will not work - either online or over the phone. I found a tip online to delete the "Flexnet" activation files, which I did - the benefit being that it gives me another 30 days to work out this issue. However, the online activation still does not work. Any ideas?
    Here was the flexnet tip:

  • How to deactive a CS3 program that will not open?

I have and old computer with this adobe package installed on it.  The hard drive failed and the computer wouldn't boot up.  I purchased a new computer and installed the adobe package on it.  I call adobe support and was able to activate the programs.
Recently I decided to try to get the old computer to work by formating the hard drive.  I got it to boot from the original windows xp disk. Because the CD drive on the computer does not work, I was using an external CD drive.  I am still having trouble formating the hard drive with the external CD drive.
When I tried to open Photoshop on the newer computer I got the following message.
" You cannot use the product at this time.  You must repair the problem by unistalling and reinstalling this product of contacting your IT administrator or adobe customer support for help."
I am assuming that adobe sees both computers with the same serial number.  How do I get the adobe package to work on the newer computer.  I don't care if it works on the old computer.

uninistall  it, clean (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) and reinstall.
if you need an activation count reset, contact adobe support by clicking this link and then clicking 'still need help' as soon as it appears, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

  • Bridge not functioning in PhotoShop CS3 Extended

I deactivated Photoshop CS3 on a computer I was no longer using and installed it (CS3) another computer.  I activiated CS3 on the new computer.  However, when trying to use Bridge, I get a message that says that Adobe no longer supports Bridge Home and Bridge does not function on the new computer. Is there anything I can do to get Bridge to function as part of CS3 Extended?

    Thanks, that worked.

  • Why can't DW CS5 see jpgs, new files in website root folder in Bridge CS3?

Help!  Upgraded to DW CS5.  Web site done in DW CS3, used PS3 and Bridge CS3 for photo prep etc. Root folder is  in Bridge CS3.  I tried to use "Place"  to DW CS5- but Bridge opens DW CS3 instead, even with page open in DW CS5. (Have deactivated DW CS3 in associations.)   New pages, files and additions are "invisible" to DW CS5.  Why?
Before the upgrade, files in the root folder in Bridge were listed and  immediately available to DW on Local and Remote.   (Mac OS X10.5.8-2.2GHzIntel/mem 2GB 667 MHz)
I'm new at this stuff and have combed the Help-Knowledge Bases-DW and Bridge and haven't found anything remotely helpful or even similar? .Must be something obvious everyone knows  to do.

    Problem went away this morning!
I tried this step again (a third time) after starting up my computer:
Still trying to get my composite in "B" recognized by LR, I first deleted the composite from "B" using explorer, then went into LR and moved the file from "A" (where LR recognized it), into "B".
This time it worked, the file moved successfully and appears normally in LR.
Don't know if the re-boot helped, or I was making some silly mistake that a good night's sleep cured.  If the later, I apologize to all who scratched their heads over this one.
    Thanks,
    Jerry

  • How do I deactivate CS3 when I get an error message that I'm not connected to the internet, when I am?

That is NOT correct. Customer Support can handle deactivations of CS3. Use Web Chat here:

    Hi,
I´m having problems opening photoshop CS3 after a clean install.
I have deactive my CS3 product on my old computer, that run on windows XP. With my DVD installed on my new computer that runs on windows 7. After the instalation, I tryed to open photoshop to activate. When the program stats to open and freezes almost instantly. I have to open the task manager to close the program that apears not responding.
My new computer is a Workstation, S5000XVN Intel motherboard, 24 Gb of Ram, NVidea Quadro 2000.
    Can anyone help me.
    Thanks
    Rui Carrasquinho

While CS3 is not officially supported on Win 7 that is because they never tested it.  CS3 was obsolete before Win 7 came out.  Should work fine.
Try resetting preferences by starting PS and immediately holding down ctrl alt shift keys.  IF fast enough will get a reset window.
Also make sure you video drivers are up to date.
If you have any 3rd party fonts or plugins disable them.

  • Reinstall of CS3 design premium

I recently deactivated my CS3 and removed it from my MAC after running it successfully for several years. I removed it by following the prompts via 'Utilities'.  I reinstalled from the disks and all seemed to be OK accept version cue,(No big deal). But......  Eg. photoshop launches OK but when i try to open a file via 'file open' it crashes (the programme not the operating system).  I can open a file by clicking on a file icon however, when I go to 'save' a file or 'save as' it crashes.  Photoshop, Illustrator and indesign all suffer the same fate.  I've downloaded the programme updates. Any suggestions on how to get things running smoothly?
FYI,  When I first launched photoshop it called for my serial number which I entered. I also reregistered with adobe.

The 1.75 GB DDR SDRAM has successfully run the adobe creative suite
with Leopard for the last couple of years without a glitch.
I don't believe that that is the issue currently.

  • Having trouble installing CS3 after dactivation on old system

I have had CS3 on an XP system for almost 4 years now and need to move it to a new (Win 7 Home Premium) PC going forward.  The CS3 product is on a DVD via a download that installed on the XP system.  I deactivated the CS3 Suite on the XP PC and am now attempting to install it on the Win 7 PC.  Setup starts then asks for Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium - like it is asking for that DVD or file?  It is on the same DVD as the setep.exe file that is executing.  Choices are OK and Cancel.  OK does nothing and Cancel ends the install.  I have all of the keys to avtivate the products but I don't get that far.  Need assistance please.

Single DVD was burned from the download on 9/14/2008 and used w/o issue to install full CS3 on XP system.  Used Photoshp, Acobat 8 Pro, and some Dreamweaver.
    Screen shots follow:
    DVD Directory -
    Install Options -
Error Message - asking for CS3 Files -
Install Result when I say cancel - OK response provided same screen
Thanks for any help you can suggest.

  • CS 3 Bridge crashes / freezes when trying to run the slideshow feature

A while back I deactivated Photoshop CS3 that was installed on my laptop. Then this past week I went to reinstall it again. One thing I noticed was that the PS-CS3 and Bridge Icons were still residing on my desktop. I went into the "add/remove programs" and sure enough there was PS-CS3 sitting there. So I tried to do an uninstall first. When I clicked the tab to do a remove program it just sat there. I contacted Adobe Tech support and they sent me the script to to an uninstall. It worked, the Icons went away and so I proceded to do a new install. I entered the serial numbers and activated it and all seemed well. Then I went into the Bridge, everything seemed ok there too. I was able to use the RAW converter, view thumbnails and the rest. Then I went to a specific folder where I had some files that were converted to JPEG to run the slideshow feature. That is when Bridge hung up and a few seconds later it closed the preview window that had opened for the slideshow preview.
Does this have something to do with the amount of RAM on my laptop? Or maybe the cache? I ask because I had never needed to use the slideshow feature until now and everthing seemed ok even prior to uninstalling and reinstalling.
I have 1 gig or ram... the hard drive is 350 gigabytes and there is a ton of room still available. The processor is ok. Oh also, I have Lightroom 2 installed on this machine too and it's slideshow feature runs fine. But I would prefer to use the slideshow feature in bridge.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

    Copy the jdev_home/jlib/redist/uix2_install.zip file to
jdev_home/jdev/redist folder . It will overwrite an existing uix2_install.zip file.
Close and open the Jdeveloper IDE. It will prompt you for upgradation of projects. Press OK button in response.
Now you should be able to run the JSP pages.

  • Where are output module presets physically stored?

I have a broken XP installation that is not fixable but the drive is accesible from my other Windows installation.
Before I broke XP I deactivated my CS3 and now I have it installed and activated in Windows 7.
Now I am really missing all my output module presets. I can import them, but then I should have exported them first, which is not an option.
The AppData folder is really full of stuff
Here are some other important folders when migrating. In this case D: is the old installation drive:
    D:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS3\Support Files\Scripts\
    D:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS3\Support Files\Templates\
    D:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Adobe\After Effects\8.0\
    Media Encoder presets:
    D:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Adobe\After Effects\8.0\MediaIO\Presets
But hey no Output Modules in there..

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
I think you misunderstood me though. There was nothing wrong with the Adobe installation. It was my operating system that I broke. Sort of on purpose. I just assumed I could get my settings back the good old manual way instead of using the program. And I was right for the most part. Don't worry, I know what I am doing. I just didn't know the output module presets weren't stored in either the application folder or the AppData folder.
So what I need to know is where those presets are physically stored so I can get them back too.
Oh I hope it's not the registry. That's the one thing I cannot touch. But then again why would it be in the registry when everything else is stored in files and AE is portable to OSX anyway and they don't have a registry.

  • Issue with Migration to New Mac from Old Mac

I deactivated photoshop CS3 on my old mac, and I'm trying to get it over to my new mac via firewire but I'm getting this error message:  Licensing for this product has stopped working. You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and the reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help. What can I do?

Any Adobe Product must—beside deactivation and uninstalling from your old computer—be installed with the original Adobe installer and the appropriate serial number.
Never use the program migration tools of Mac OS to migrate any Adobe software, it will not work.
I suspect that CS3 is compatible with your computer, you will have to update to a current version of your program.

  • Recently I purchased CS4 Web Design can I deactivated my old Photo. CS4 and Illust. CS3 to sell/gift

I have a full version of CS4 Web Design Premium, now my old Photoshop CS4 and Illustrator CS3 are redundant.  Can I either sell these or give as a gift to my girlfriend's nephew - they have been deactivated and removed from my computer (macbook pro).
Thanks for your insight and help!

You may sell or otherwise transfer the individual Photoshop and Illustrator products unless (1) one or the other was used as the basis to do an upgrade to the suite itself or (2) those products were student or academic versions or part of a bulk commercial license.
Make sure you transfer registration of the software using the forms available from Adobe's website.
