Deactivation lightroom

How can I deactivate Lightroom? I want to install it on a new computer.

As you state, there is no deactivation option in LR.  I just spent a very frustrating time with Adobe tech support chat, with the guy telling me to click something that didn't exist.
I am upgrading one computer to Win 7 and replacing another computer; both have LR2 on them.  Can I install LR2 on my new machines?

  • Howto deactive Lightroom 5 on one computer and activate on another ?

    Hi,
currently I'm using LR 5 (Windows) on a laptop computer which I'm planning to replace with a newer one in some days.
I've searched on the forum about how to transfer a license from one computer to another but could not find a solution the works for me.
There where some threads dealing with this question but for other Adobe products (PS ...)
I also installed a version of Lightroom on my Desktop computer
I suppose somehow I have to make sure the LR get's deactivated on my laptop before I can install it on my new one ?
    best regards

    Hi,
    thanks for the replies.
I was just asking because I've read some people had problems and got error messages saying the "maximum installation of 2 computers were reached".
The following article implied there is limit: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/error-activation-limit-reached-starting. html
But maybe I misunderstood it ...
So is there a difference in activation using the "stand alone version" which you can by for about $150 and the CC subscription version which is about $10/month ?
    best regards

  • Deactivating lightroom when no deactivation title shows under the help menu

Hi, Having problems deactivating LR4 (having recently upgraded from LR3) No deactivation button appears in either the LR4 or LR3 help sections. It doesn't on my desktop either?
I've just successfully deactivated CS5 using normal procedures. Can anyone help?
    Cheers
    Mike

You don't need to Activate/Deactivate LR. Just Install/Uninstall. It's trust based.

  • Problems getting serial number for Lightroom Student and Teacher Edition

Hello.  I recieved Lightroom 4 Student Edition from a relative last year.  I was in high school at the time, and therefore used my school email address to register the product.  Over the summer the company server went down that maintained the website, so I lost access to all of my emails as well as the ability to access any emails sent since then.  I have since switched computers, and do not have the serial number to access the software.  I had already deactivated Lightroom on my previous computer because my new one was saying it had already been activated twice (it hadn't been though), so I cannot get it that way.  Because I can't access the old email address I also cannot get it through the Check Status option under eligibility verification.  Any other ideas on how I can get the serial number?
P.S. I am in college now so I have all the information needed to re-verify my student status.

You need to call Adobe Customer Support as this is a User to User help forum.

  • Do I have to reinstall Lightroom 3 in order to install the $79 upgrade to Lightroom ?

I plan to upgrade Lightroom 3 to Lightroom 5 by purchasing the $79 upgrade. I have uninstalled but not deactivated Lightroom 3 (uninstalled with AppDelete) and am presently running the 30 day trial of Lightroom 5. Do I have to reinstall version 3 before installing version 5?

    No.
Enter your LR5 upgrade serial then enter your LR3 serial and you're done.
Note: there's no activation with Lightroom. Install and uninstall only.

  • Deactivation . Crash hard drive. New computer. Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5.7

I have both desktop and laptop. Photoshop cs6 and Lightroom 5.7 installed on both. My desktop hard drive crashed and I can't deactivate both Photoshop cs6 and Lightroom 5.7 on the desktop. I believe I have 2 activations on both Photoshop and Lightroom. I need to deactivate both Photoshop and Lightroom to reinstall on new Desktop. I do not want to deactivate on the laptop. Remember the old desktop hard drive crash before deactivating. Help.

If you have a subscription there should be no problem.  You should be able to install on two machines. If you try to activate a third machine I believe the activation server will deactivate all your activations.  Then activate the current machine. You can then re-activate one of you other machines.
If you have a perpetual licence and have two activation you will need Adobe Customer Support to assist you.

  • I just purchased a PC laptop and need to activate Lightroom 5 on it. How do I get my copy of LR5 deactivated from my old laptop so I can activate it on my new one?

I just purchased a PC laptop and need to activate Lightroom 5 on it. How do I get my copy of LR5 deactivated from my old laptop so I can activate it on my new one?

There is no activation mechanism in Lightroom. Hence no Help > Deactivate.
Only need to uninstall. Or leave it installed since the license allows two installations.

  • Target drive install on a mac computer without deactivating photoshop/lightroom

Can I do a target drive install on a mac computer without deactivating photoshop/lightroom on my older computer? I would like transfer all programs over without re-downloading and re-installing. Thanks!

I would recommend you only transfer your documents and settings to the new computer.  You will then want to install the software from your installation media.  Adobe software is not designed to be copied from one computer to another and it is likely you will face difficulties after trying to move the software over in this fashion.

  • Lightroom 2 deactivation

I have installed Lightroom 3 and was wondering if I have to deactivate Lightroom 2 in order to give it to a friend?

  • Lightroom 4 Deactivation

I am selling my computer but want to keep my lightroom license count. How do I deactivate Lightroom 4 before wiping the computer I am selling?

There is no activation/deactivation process with Lightroom. Just use the uninstall procedure for your operating system, and then install on your new computer. Make sure you keep track of your serial number.

  • Elements/Premiere 12 PC stopped working after trial version of Lightroom CC was installed / and uninstalled - I need help deactivating prior to rebuilding

    Dear forum
After I installed a 90 trial version of Lightroom CC.  I had an issue with it so uninstalled it, since then I have had Error dialog pop up after Win7 x64 Ultimate startup; and also every session, with Photoshop elements / premier 12,
I constantly get dynamiclinkmanager has stopped working.
    ElementsAutoanalzer has stopped working,
and Adobe premier Elements 12 has stopped working
I'm fed up trying to resolve this issue which I believe was down to Lightroom CC installation, so I now want to upgrade from W7 Ult x64 to Win 8.1 x64 and reinstall all my apps.
However I need to deactivate Elements 12 / Premiere 12 on this PC before I rebuild / upgrade, but cannot, Premiere 12 does not load at all, and while Elements 12 loads, there is no option to deactivate the licence on this PC
This is my 2nd PC, I have Elements / premiere 12 also on my w8.1 laptop, which is fully working, so I don't want to touch that. I never tried Lightroom CC on my laptop.
Any ideas as to how to deactivate, I tried Adobe Sign in, but there is no option or link to email or call them, the support flowchart directs me here only.
Any help much appreciated, or even a contact Phone no for Adobe in UK
    TIA
    Ken

As the crash report says - your outdated video card driver is crashing. You need to update your video card driver from the GPU maker's website (AMD/ATI in this case).

  • Installing Lightroom to Macs without deactivating LR from 2 old computers.

Hi, I have 2 old PCs (broken and inaccessible) with Lightroom installed.  I have 2 new Macs that I'd like to install Lightroom. Can anyone help me what to do so I don't go over the 2 install limits? Thanks in advance.

Ned, thank you very much for the quick response.  And non-geek me, your answer made my life so much easier.  I did install Lightroom on my new Mac and is now running.  Thank you from Bangkok!

  • Lightroom 5.3 deactivation

My first message, hello everybody! I haven't found anything in the forum. I have bought Lightroom about 2 years ago and I have enabled a license key on a pc that I'm going to sell. How can disable the license key on this pc to re-use it on another one?
Adobe website says to go on HELP > DISABLE but I cannot find it on Lightroom 5.3.
    Thank you for your help.

You seem to be comparing Lightroom to Photoshop.
    Don't.
There is no global limit on the number of times you can install and use the license for Lightroom. The limit is that you can only have it installed and using the license on two computers at any one time (and the two computers can't be both using Lightroom at the same time and the two computers must be used for your own personal use).
