I have Photoshop Elements 7.0 that was loaded onto my new computer but it won't open

    Hi,
If it doesnt work after applyign patch try the below solutions:
    Solution 1:
    1. Close Elements.
    2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
    3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
    Solution 4:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go  to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements  10\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain  plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere  else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.

    Thanks,

  • Transferring photoshop elements from an old windows7 laptop to a new windows 8.1 laptop

I recently had to upgrade from a laptop running Windows 7 to a whole new laptop running Windows 8.1  I had been running Photoshop Elements only a few months and was still learning all that it can do.
It would be another six months before I can buy a whole new copy of Photoshop Elements.
Is there a way I can upgrade that is do-able without starting over?

The original license is for two installations.
Have you tried installing PSE on your new computer? If so, what happens?

You should probably just download the trial version of pse 12 and see if you can live with it.
Download a free trial or buy Adobe products | Adobe downloads
That being said, have you tried to install pse 1 on your computer?
How much free space is on your hard drive?
Do you have Internet Explorer 10 or 11?
Pse 1 can run on windows 7 x64, provided certain conditions are met.

  • I am trying to deactivate my photoshop Elements 9 on a crashed c drive, now on a external drive conn

I am trying to deactivate my photoshop Elements 9 on a crashed c drive, now on a external drive connected to my new computer. When I open, from the old C drive the deactivation option is not highlighted on the drop down menu- its not available. How do I deactivate this version on the old C drive(now external) so I can Activate on my new drive?

Probably the simplest solution is to contact activation support:

There's usually a place in that window where you can start a chat session and get it straightened out right away.

  • Transfer photoshop elements from one computer to another

I want to transfer my photoshop elements from my macbook to my imac. What is the quickest and easiest way of going about this. I also don't want to loose any of my files.

Deactivating the program from one computer and then activating it on another is easy -- though how you do it depends on which version of the program you're using.
But you seem to have something else going on. What do you mean by "I don't want to loose any of my files"?
Are you also trying to move all of your image files from one computer to another? That's also easy using the Mac Migration Assistant.

And if you've got any more specific questions, you may want to post them to the Photoshop Elements forum rather than to the Premiere Elements forum.

  • Deactivated Photoshop Elements

I deactivated Photoshop Elements 10 from my old Mac to install it on my new Mac but I don't find the serial number. I bought the CD at Best Buy at least 2 years ago. Is Adobe keeping record of the computers IP so they can see I am not cheating? I would like to be able to use the software on my new laptop. Thanks.

  • How to completely delete Photoshop Elements from my computer??

    Hi
I am trying to completely remove Photoshop Elements from my computer.   So far, I have failed in my attempts to do this.   The reason I'm doing this is b/c for some reason that I can't fathom, the folders in My Pictures -- the folders named by shot date -- contain random duplicates. When this happens, the file names folow the convention of DSC_0222 and DSC_0222-1. Exactly the same file size and metadata.  In some folders, every picture is duplicated. In other folders, only selected pitcures within the folder are duplicated.   I can't figure out how they got there -- e.g. it doesn't seem to bear any connection to the photos I've edited, which was one theory I had for a while.   Is Elements responsible? Or is this some sort of bug in the download process from the camera (I have a Nikon D40).  Anyway, I've given up on trying to sovle this problem and decided I would go back to the beginning and reload everything from my camera.   So, my real question here is about how to completely uninstall Elements.
Here's what I did:    I uninstalled Photoshop Elements through the Add/remove programs utility.  I got no errors during the uninstall process.   Then I completely deleted the My Pictures directory (don't worry -- I have it backed up in multiple places!!).   So, at this point there are *no* pictures on my computer at all.    I reinstall Elements, open it up and -- you guessed it!!! -- the catalog is still there with all the thumbnails of the pictures that i deleted from my hard disk.   Of course, each thumbnail is flagged as "Missing File".
So, how do I uninstall/reinstall Elements and get it to forget all memory of the previous catalog?   Why is it "remembering" it in this way when the pictures aren't even on the computer anymore?  Isn't this a bug???
I've been working on this issue for much longer than I care to remember-- if anyone can tell me how to get myself truly back to ground-zero so I can start over I would be deeply grateful.   After upgrading to Elements 9 (from 7) to try to solve this problem I am close to just abandoning Elements entirely.....
WHile we're at it, if anyone has any idea where the duplicates pictures are coming from and how I prevent that from happening, I'm' all ears!!!!
    Thanks!

    Hi
Thanks so much for the response.   So, Help/System Info says that the catalog is here:
    Catalog Location: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\My Catalog\
but no such file appaers to exist.  In fact, I can only get as far as All Users.   Then there is no directory under that called "Application Data".
i'm still seeing the thumbnails when I got into Elements tho'....   :-(

  • Invoking PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS from PHOTOSHOP ALBUM

How do I link to a previously installed version of Photoshop elements from within Photoshop album without getting to the "Buy Now" screen ?

Indeed, that is a wonderful question and we have yet to see an answer. When one clicks on "edit with Photoshop Elements," while using the Album Starter Edition, one gets an offer to sell Photoshop Album full edition--which I don't want!
I just want to be able to edit with photoshop elements.
Perhaps the answer is that, in order to make this switch, one has to purchase the full Photoshop Album? If so, just tell us and we'll quit bothering you.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 Group Shot Crashes

Photoshop Elements 10 - Group Shot Crashes after I select the option from the menu.  I am using Windows XP.  Is there a workaround or is there a way to fix this?

This problem is related to your other problems and so resetting the preferences and deleting the preferences files "might" resolve itself.

    Please can someone help me?

    Hi rens,
    Was it working fine before?
Have you tried updating PSE12 to the latest update and checked?
    Standard troubleshooting steps :
    > Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )
    > Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer.
    Try launching now and check.
