Dead GeForce GTX 460 1GB OC
Hello,
When I started my computer today, the screen was blank. I thought it's something with graphics card, so I tried connecting screen to my on-board video card. Desktop showed up. I also tried putting card into other computer = same story, screen is blank. I assume the card somehow died. I bought it in the USA but I'm using it in Poland right now and there's no way I could ship it to USA and RMA it.
Is there any way I could RMA it in Europe/Poland? Or the warranty isn't worldwide?
Thanks for useful replies.
/Matt
The warranty isn't worldwide, since you purchase it in US you can't RMA it in Europe

I can run OpenCL benchmarking tests and they work great, but I still cannot active it in photoshop.
Ive tried using sniffer_gpu.exe in the photoshop folder at numerous different times and intervals, (while photoshop is open, after i close it, after a fresh reboot), yet i still cannot get it enabled in photoshop.
I am exhaused from searching the web for answers and I still cant figure this out. Thanks for the reply Chris. I realize it says unavailable, but the cards do support OpenCL.

MSI 890FXA-GD70 & SLI two gtx 460 1Gb ???
can i install(TWO CARD) MSI Cyclone GeForce GTX 460 1GB GDDR5 SLI on :
( MSI 890FXA-GD70 Mainboard), (Win7 64Bit ) CPU (AMD Phenom(TM) II X6 1090T Processor (6C, 3.62GHz, 2GHz IMC, 6x 512kB L2, 6MB L3) to allows 3 or 4 DVI monitors to be used in Eyefinity without needing a DisplayPort monitor or active adapter ???? to play microsoft flight simulator X for example on 3 LCD ???Also Eyefinity is AMD feature, Nvidia cards doesn't have such.
Read more about it at: http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/amd-eyefinity-technology/Pages/eyefinity.aspx
And yes, SLI isn't possible as Bas mention.
To run SLI you need latest MSI's AMD platform board for AM3+, named 990FXA-GD80:

Geforce GTX 550ti 1GB or GTX 460 1GB or other?
I have a 2 year old homebuilt i7 920 with 12GB ram built on an Asus P6T MB with a Seasonic 650W PS. I'd like to upgrade the current Graphics card that was fine for Photoshop but not for Premiere Pro which I'm just experimenting with. I'd like to get a better card for it without going crazy because this will not be my main computer. I never OC'd it either as for Photoshop it seemed fine at the time.
It will be used typically for making under 5 min videos that consist of a around half doz clips each from my Canon 1DM4 in HD 1080. Not too much in the way of effects currently with unsharp mask, color correction and transitions etc.
The ones I've sort of narrowed down to are the GTX 460 1GB or maybe the GTX 550ti 1 GB might do as well for this use? I don't like limiting myself if I'd see much of a difference between them. I'm also totally open to any suggestions for others as well.
As a side note, I'm also in the planning stages for building a new computer from scratch and that will be my main computer that I'll most likely put a better card in during the coming month or two.
While I've built several computers over the years I'm finding this graphics card choice bewildering to say the least! I hope that's enough info to go on and I greatly appreciate any help as most review sites for cards pertain mostly to gaming.
Thanks in advance,
JimI don't know the power needs of my GTX 285 (in a file somewhere) but I wasn't worried 'cause I have an 850 power supply
I do know that the card has 2 power connections... I presume one for the GPU and the other for the onboard fan
Before you think your PS will work... check your total requirments

GTX 460 1GB CUDA support in CS5.5?
I've read the list of supported CUDA boards for CS5, but does this mean that the GTX 460 1GB boards will never have support in CS5.5?
Think what could be done with 2, 3, or 4 GPUs.
Hey, no one else at this point even has one. So we Premiere Pro users are lucky in that regard.
Personally, I still think the move away from the proprietary CUDA are towards OpenCL is more important than adding SLI That opens up ATI cards as well. And for the money, ATI cards often have double or triple the number of stream processors over nVidia's cores. That can mean significantly better performance out of ATI cards for the same or less money. -
P43 Neo-F (MS-7519-020): ZOTAC Synergy GeForce GTX 460
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if my P43 Neo-F (MS-7519-020) is compatible with the ZOTAC Synergy GeForce GTX 460.
Thank you!Quote from: Kenjutsu on 17-November-11, 12:14:11
Yes, thats true. I will be upgrading from a 480w to a 600w PSU as well.
Probably, you can share with us the model that you will be looking at before you spend the money to buy it.
At the same time, try to look out for Bernhard's recommendation. Those are reliable PSU series. -
I'm currently building a system and I'm hung up on the graphics card. The GTX 460 comes out in June and its in my price range. Will it be able to run Adobe CS?
i can pretty much guarantee that card will not be supported.
the 480 will be in an update even the 470 most likely will not.
i am sure they will limit the 480 to 3 layers like the 285
based on testing you will want a supported card unless you are a weekend warrior
(if time is not important)

what's the recommended or lowest settings for this cards fan speed at idle? and would it affect the auto control when the card's temperature rises.
also I've read an article on how to overclock it but it only mentions roughly how high the core clock can go(825MHz). if i were to increase the shader and memory, how would i approach this or should i?
haven't tampered with a graphic card before so any additional help/info would be appreciate. There's a minimum fan speed in place already if you check in Afterburner. I'd suggest you just leave it to adjust the speed accordingly.
Overclocking varies on each card. You need to test it youself to find the limit, though be careful you don't push it too far or you may break something. Afterburner is a good tool to use for overclocking the graphics card. -
GTX 460 (MSI HAWK) dead? On-board LED explanation?
Hi,
I purchased an MSI HAWK (GeForce GTX 460) graphics card back in 2011 and it appears to have died. Windows no longer detects it (although I was able to get it working briefly after booting into Windows using the on-board Intel graphics, but cannot repeat). If I remember correctly, the LEDs on the bottom of the card used to cycle through a particular pattern. Now, only the first two LEDs (that is, the LEDs furthest away from the PCI-X slot) remain constantly on.
I'm not quite sure how to trouble shoot this problem. I will try later to see if I can put it into a different PCI-X slot but I don't think there is any extra room in my motherboard. Has anyone experienced this problem? Is there an explanation somewhere of the LED status codes?
Thanks! The LEDs are just indicating active phases. They do not show codes. Give us some infos about the rest of the system: >>Posting Guide<<

Open Gl Issue with Nvidia GTX 460 & Photoshop cs5
open gl has become disabled and preferences window doesn't show the detected video. card cache level is set to 4. help>system info still shows the card and drivers but I can't use any of the open gl features. I have already downloaded installed the latest drivers so Im not so sure that that would be the problem.
I know my graphics card supports it because I was using the rotate tool on this same document yesterday. How ever when i started it up today It no longer worked. I haven't installed anything since I used the rotate tool last (except for the latest drivers for my nvideo geforce gtx 460 gfx card, how ever this was an attempt to fix the problem)
I tried running the 64 bit verision of Ps but the results were the same.
My system is running
windows 7 64 bit
Intel core 2 duo 3.0 Ghz (dual core processor)
8 GB ddr2 ram
Nvidia GeForce GTX 460
(with 2 identical moniters connected via dvi)
Adobe Creative Suite CS5 Design Premium
Wacom Bamboo pen and touch w/ matching drivers
Belkin N52TE gaming pad with photoshop short cuts mapped to it.
Im not sure what else I can list that might be related
I made no system changes since the last time i ran photoshop.
I unplugged the wacom tablet for 5 minutes last night in order to install the drivers on another computer and when it was done i moved it back (Im fairly sure this couldn't have caused it but better to give all the info i guess...)
I would greatly apreciate any help you might be able to offer.some one i know suggested that I try an older driver in case it was a bug with the latest one. I did so and once again It worked untill i closed photoshop. I closed and reopened the program to test it and sure enough when i reopened it all open gl functionality was gone once again. I don't believe nvidia drivers are the problem because i have tried 3 different version with the same results. each one works untill i close photoshop and the second time i open photoshop it quits working.
do any of you at adobe have any idea what might be causing this? -
H97 Gaming 3 MS-7918 vs. Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 TI
Hellou Hellou
Firstly my Speccs_
Motherboard:
H97 Gaming 3 MS-7918
msi.com/product/mb/H97-GAMING-3.html#hero-specification
Graphic Card
Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 TI
msi.com/product/vga/N750Ti-TF-2GD5OC.html#hero-specification
Is this two Supported i mean is that Motherboard Supported to my Graphic Card.
I mean that PCI 16X 3.0 Express thing.
Because i have impossible to get those to work? The game Crashes when i am playing and it's very laggish and pixels are messed.
Motherboard is NEW and Graphic Card is 1-2 months old.
I have tryet everything. New drivers to old drivers.
So is the Graphic card broken or is it that Motherboard is not supporting that Graphic Card?
Thank you very muh from FinlandOookkey good to know this that it's supported.
Then i think that Graphic card is broken. Have to send it back to the shop where i bought it and get new one.
Problem was that the Graphic card is not working. It's crashing when playing games or starting to play games.
Some times there comes message " nvidia kernel mode driver stopped responding "
Comes black screen, but i can go to desktop ctrl alt delete to shut down the game.
Right now i use older Graphic card "Geforce GTX 460" and it's working very good with the mother board.
Or it's possible, that i have do something to the graphic card to get it to work. Overclocking or something, because the Default settings aren't working.. because right know it's not handelling the job :D -
GTX 460 missing shaders?
Hello,
I used GPUZ .4.4 and its data shows that my GTX 460 has only 224 shaders, this is wrong right? it should be 336. In pic1 you can clearly see that its 224, while on pic 2 and on every other web sites, its 336. What can be done to retrieve the missing shaders? RMA or bios updates perhaps?

I have a PCI express 16x so it should fit. But I have seen this same GPU on amazon and it says its a PCI express 2.0. so my question is. Will this exact gpu fit in my PCI express 1.0 pc? Maybe here hey just forgot to inform that it is 2.0? thanks! As long as your power supply and case airflow are sufficient, yes. PCI Express 2.0 refers to the revision of the PCI Express technology and it is backwards compatible with PCI Express 1.0. PCI Express slots are either x1 (smallest) or x4 (small) or x8/x16 (regular size), so you should be fine with your x16 slot unless there is a hardware problem. Research your motherboard and power supply before you buy.
