Dead Imac (need some help)
Looking for advice or help.
My new 233mghz intel 20" iMac has died. It has 2 gigs of memory that was installed by Apple and a 500 gig hard drive. When I verify the disk I get 2 errors, "volume bit map needs minor repair" and "error, underlying task reported the following error, Failure to exit". Yet when I try to repair it, disk utility says "no repair needed".
When I ran the hardware test I received this error code:
4MEM/1/40000000:04023B44.
On the advice of Apple tech support I tried to reinstall the system software. That does not work, the iMac either experiences a kernal panic or the install fails.
Anyone out there seen these problems before? Are the hardware error codes available somewhere. This is essentially a brand new machine.
I am hoping this will be something I can fix at home as the nearest Apple repair center is over 100 miles away.

7500 Prism - Totally Dead. Need some help badly...
Heya! I've had my 7500 Prism for a very long time and the only bad thing about it was that it sometimes used to freeze when playing a video. However, this bug got annoying enough to make me made the snap decision to update my firmware version. So far, so good, but there were no newer versions for my Product Code, so I changed it and updated. Unfortunately, I lost my native language menu in the process (should have known better), and I decided to downgrade. At this point, something during the downgrade went wrong and now my phone is totally dead. It won't boot and it won't even charge. Something like "Charger not supported" comes up and I am using the original charger. When it had enough battery, it went as far as showing the Nokia logo and than turned off on itself. I have tried to fix it by restoring the original version, but the computer can't pick it up fast enough before it goes off again and so all the programs I've tried can't detect the phone. Since I am laical in this area, I've figured someone from the forums with much more knowledge than myself could help me out So, I am open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Remote App on iPad connects but drops after about 20 mins. Need to turn off wait about 1 minute, then turn on wifi on iMac before it can reconnect. Need some help please.

I got my artwork and saved it to my Desktop
Opened up Microsoft Paint and clicked on "File" and "Open" and found it to get it on the screen to resize it
Clicked "resize" and a box for changing it opened up
Checked the box "Pixels" and "Unchecked maintain aspect ratio"
Set Horizontal for 640 and Vertical for 480
Clicked on "OK" and went back to "File" and did a "Save As" and chose JPEG Picture
It came up "File Already Existed" and clicked "OK" (really did not care about the original artwork I found because wrong size)
Went to iTunes and on the movie right clicked on "Get Info", clicked on "Details", then "Artwork"
Go to the little box on the top left that shows your old artwork and click on it to get the little blue border to appear around it and hit "Delete" to make it gone
Click on "Add Artwork" and find it where you put the one from above on your Desktop and hit "Open" and OK and your new artwork is now there and all good.
Sounds like a lot of steps to follow but after around 5 or so you will fly through it. This worked perfect on my iPhone 6 Plus and I have artwork on my Home Videos now. -
Stupidly partition hdd on window7 in IMAC A1311, and now I can not use the IMAC...... Need some help
Just bought a used IMAC A1311 core 2 duo, and there are something called Bootcamp and Window7 on it, and i log in to Window7 and stupidly partition hdd on it, and i think it has formatted everything. now the window7 is error and I do hold (alt) key when I start up the machines , it show only the window7 hdd and i don't see any Recoery HDD........what should i do? Really need some helps right now.........
There are several models that use A1311. So I don't know exactly what model you have. If you received installer discs with the computer, then you will need to boot from Disc 1, erase the drive, and install Snow Leopard. Some models in the A1311 line can use Internet Recovery:
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should restore the version of OS X originally pre-installed on the computer. -
Slide show in PowerPosint for mac 2011 on iMac will not open full screen mode on secondary monitor. Regardless of how I set the slide show preferences it always opens on primary monior with secondardy monitor having totally balck screen. Need some help if anyone else has run into this problem.

jeez, never thought i'd be asking a question like this after playing for like 20 years, but i need some help with a guitar setup for mac. i'm gonna list out a lot of crap here that prolly doesn't affect anything at all, but here goes.
Imac 17inch G4 - latest updated OS X... 10.4, or 5, or whatever. garageband 3.0

alesis sr-16
sure mic's
yamaha e203 keyboard
here's the setup:
yamaha is on its own on a usb uno midi interface, sure's connected to gnx's xlr port, alesis connected to gnx's jam-a-long input, '87 kramer vanguard connected to gnx's guitar input. currently running headphones out on gnx to line in on mac.
here's the problem:
everything works beautifully, but my guitar sounds like crap. if i plug headphones into the gnx, it sounds beautiful. that makes me think its some kind of level issue between the gnx's output, and the mac's input, but nothing seems to fix it.
by sounding like crap, i mean way too much bass. sound is muddy, blurry, not crisp... aka crap. i've tried altering both output and input on mac and gnx, and i cant get a combination that works. the gnx has a s/pdif out, can the mac accept that as input? might that help? short of running the gnx to my marshal half stack and mic'ing that, anyone have any suggestions, or use a similar setup?
any help would be greatly appreciated!anyone? ... any suggestions? I think it might be an issue with the gnx pre-amping the signal as it goes out, and then the mac amping it on the way in, giving me a buttload more signal than i need, but since i cant find a happy level, i'm not really sure. i really dont want to resort to mic'ing my marshall... even with the volume almost off, my jcm900 is WAY too loud for apartment use. its not like i really NEED the guitar to sound perfect, i only use garageband to sketch out ideas for songs between myself and bandmates, but its really annoying to not have my customary crisp distortion. my bass player keeps telling me to use the built in amps, but, not to dis a practically free program, but the built in amps blow, at least after 10 years of marshall tube amplification they do. if anyone has any suggestions that might be helpfull on how i might resolve this, i would be your best friend for life and go to all your birthday parties

Need some help, system won't boot now.
Yesterday, I was having trouble getting WinXP installed on my SATA drive...after I tried some stuff to no avail, I decided to call it a night. When I got up, I went to boot up the system and now all that happens is the 1 LED light flashes and the CD-ROM LED light flashes(and even these don't happen all the time). Nothing else happens, fans don't start etc. So I need some help on troubleshooting this prob. When I do start it up, the D-bracket LEDs flash 4 red also, just flash like the other LED lights. My first guess would be that the PSU is dead? My PSU is a Antec Truepower 380W. Any help is much appreciated.

Talking Santa didn't update.Try moving the existing backup file to a safe location so that iTunes has to create an entire new file. The backup file is located here. You can delete that backup once you get a successfull backup.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory. -
Need some help: my itunes won't sync with my iphone anymore. Both softwares are up to date and I've reinstalled itunes. After I reinstall, it syncs. But then when I reboot my computer, it no longer syncs anymore and I have to keep reinstalling itunes. Thoughts???
thought that it was possible to have the same iTunes library on any machine that was authorised, a kind of cloud-iTunes I guess.

Need some help in creating Search Help for standard screen/field
I need some help in adding a search-help to a standard screen-field.
Transaction Code - PP01,
Plan Version - Current Plan (PLVAR = '01'),
Object Type - Position ( OTYPE = 'S'),
Click on Infotype Name - Object ( Infotype 1000) and Create.
I need to add search help to fields Object Abbr (P1000-SHORT) / Object Name (P1000-STEXT).
I want to create one custom table with fields, Position Abb, Position Name, Job. Position Abb should be Primary Key. And when object type is Position (S), I should be able to press F4 for Object Abb/Object Name fields and should return Position Abbr and Position Name.
I specify again, I have to add a new search help to standard screen/field and not to enhance it.
This is HR specific transaction. If someone has done similar thing with some other transation, please let me know.
There is no existing search help for these fields. If sm1 ever tried or has an idea how to add new search help to a standard screen/field.
It's urgent.

The timepoint is not accessed again if another elementary search help is to be selected during the dialog.
2. PRESEL1
After selecting an elementary search help. Table INTERFACE has not yet been copied to table SELOPT at this timepoint in the definition of the search help (type SHLP_DESCR_T). This means that you can still influence the attachment of the search help to the screen here. (Table INTERFACE contains the information about how the search help parameters are related to the screen fields).
3. PRESEL
Before sending the dialog box for restricting values. This timepoint is suitable for predefining the value restriction or for completely suppressing or copying the dialog.
4. SELECT
Before selecting the values. If you do not want the default selection, you should copy this timepoint with a search help exit. DISP should be set as the next timepoint.
5. DISP
Before displaying the hit list. This timepoint is suitable for restricting the values to be displayed, e.g. depending on authorizations.
6. RETURN (usually as return value for the next timepoint)
The RETURN timepoint should be returned as the next step if a single hit was selected in a search help exit.
It can make sense to change the F4 flow at this timepoint if control of the process sequence of the Transaction should depend on the selected value (typical example: setting SET/GET parameters). However, you should note that the process will then depend on whether a value was entered manually or with an input help.
7. RETTOP
You only go to this timepoint if the input help is controlled by a collective search help. It directly follows the timepoint RETURN. The search help exit of the collective search help, however, is called at timepoint RETTOP.
8. EXIT (only for return as next timepoint)
The EXIT timepoint should be returned as the next step if the user had the opportunity to terminate the dialog within the search help exit.
9. CREATE
The CREATE timepoint is only accessed if the user selects the function "Create new values". This function is only available if field CUSTTAB of the control string CALLCONTROL was given a value not equal to SPACE earlier on.
The name of the (customizing) table to be maintained is normally entered there. The next step returned after CREATE should be SELECT so that the newly entered value can be selected and then displayed.
10. APP1, APP2, APP3
If further pushbuttons are introduced in the hit list with function module F4UT_LIST_EXIT, these timepoints are introduced. They are accessed when the user presses the corresponding pushbutton.
Note: If the F4 help is controlled by a collective search help, the search help exit of the collective search help is called at timepoints SELONE and RETTOP. (RETTOP only if the user selects a value.) At all other timepoints the search help exit of the selected elementary search help is called.

Need some help in saving video message from viber to my Iphone 5S with new ios 8's program . I disabled the thing that would save photos and videos automatically then, there comes a video I want to save. After loading and watching it, I press the "save to gallery" thing but it doesn't save in gallery. I tried all, restarting my phone, rebooting then turning on the save automatically thing and when I watch it again, it still wouldn't save.
Probably a good question to ask Viber or look at their support site.

I finally caught the thing in time, before reader consumed every bit of memory, RAM and swap, locking up my workstation. top showed 2 instances of acroread, each with 47%+ of memory, and the OS swapping like hell. Fedora 8, current updates - 3.0 G P4

HT4597 Am I missing a step from MobileMe to iCloud?
I am trying to switch from MobileMe to iCloud and have gone to me.com/move, but when I open up iCloud in System Preferences, it still tells me that I need to move my account to iCloud.
