Dead Pixel on iphone 4s

I received an iphone 4s last may 16, 2012 from korea. I noticed a tiny black spot and turned out to be a dead pixel. Can i have it replaced here in the philippines??

A dead pixel is a hardware issue.
If it bothers you that much, do a warranty exchange.

I have one DEAD PIXEL in my iphone 4s. So can it be resolved? As it irritates me while watching any of the videos or going through any of photos. Please help me out on this. what to do/?

Apple has a strict policy regarding dead pixels, and the death of a single pixel will generlly not be addressed by Apple.  However, you're free to visit an Apple store or AASP, for further guidance.  You may be able to find a third-party to replace the display, and you'll be liable for the costs incurred.

  • IPhone 3GS Dead Pixel

Is it common to have dead pixel on iphone? Because it happen to me twice! First when i got my iphone it had 1 dead pixel, i went to change it within 7 days. When i got the new set it doesn't have it, BUT RIGHT NOW IM HAVING DEAD PIXEL AGAIN ON MY IPHONE. FROM 1 IT TURN INTO 3 RANDOM PLACES.

Not sure how common this is - not common with my original iPhone that is approaching 3 years old and not with my 3G which is approaching 2 years old this July/August.
The iPhone includes a one year warranty, and an exchange under warranty remains under the warranty for the original purchase.

  • Does Apple's warranty cover dead pixels on the iPhone 4S?

I received my iPhone 4S in the mail today and a few hours after I had been using it I noticed a tiny dot on the screen. At first I ignored it, thinking it would go away, but it hasn't. I searched what the problem was and found out it is a dead pixel. Like I said it's very small but it really bothers me every time I watch a video or take a picture. If I take it to my local apple store, will the warranty cover this?

The warranty should cover it if it is a defect in manufacture.  In any case, you are covered by the 30 day trial return period.

  • Is there a way to get rid of dead pixels on an iphone?

I have dead pixels (dead spots is what I am used to calling them) on my iphone 4 screen. I dont know if there is a way to get ride of all of them without getting new iphone. There are quite a lot of them. And if I do indeed need to get a new iPhone, how much would it be? I only have the one year warrenty and its been over a year.

A "dead pixel" is a transistor that refuses to switch properly, and there's nothing you can do to fix individual pixels.  Apple offers an out-of-warranty replacement iPhone for about $150 + tax.

  • IPhone Liquid Submersion Sensor and Dead Pixels

Today I went down to my carrier HQ. (Singtel, Singapore).
I went to spoke to the person at the iPhone servicing counter.
He told me that my iPhone Liquid Submersion Sensor has been triggered and it's now out of warranty.
And my purpose is there, to have my iPhone exchange as my home button is getting unresponsive at times.
And he told me that this is under Apple policy. When I purchase the phone, the salesperson didn't even told me about the policy and I wasn't aware of that.
So the main point is my iPhone Liquid Submersion Sensor and I didn't even drop it into any liquid, I don't know why but it's just unfair for me as an end user.
Question here, will playing apps like Ocarina activate the iPhone LSS? Only my bottom LSS is triggered, the top one isn't.
Also to recall, at the point when I'm buying my iPhone 3G last year, out of the box there is already a dead pixel and the person refuse to change a new set for me.
I'm in need of an iPhone urgently, anybody can tell me what to do?

Ocarina could trigger the water sensor since you could spit into the dock connector while blowing into the mic.

  • IPhone 5 Dead pixel or Dust? Need HELP!!!

    Hi guys,
I'm getting paranoid with the one tiny black dot on the screen of my one month old iPhone 5, I don't know if it is a dust/speck or dead pixel inside the screen. I can notice it with white backround or any light colored background. I am very familiar with the stuck pixel, but this is the first time I encounter suspected dead pixel. Can anyone tell me how to determined/differentiate a dead pixel or dust inside the screen? I also check the screen on sleep mode, as far as I can see there was no dust on that area.
Additionally my iPhone has a rattle near the rear camera like clinging sound, how true that is it really normal? They say it's the camera autofocus mechanism??
    Thank you,

Alright. Whenever I tilt the phone on any side the dark dot sometimes change color like green, black, red. I wonder why i can't even see it right in front display (like normal holding the phone when reading texts or emails). I can barely see it when tilting to different angles. What do you think it is? Sad to say there was no apple store in our country to dropped by and to check my phone by an expert ot technician.
    Appreciate your help dude..

  • Apple wont replace my iPhone (dead pixel)

i just got off the phone with iPhone support and they said they wouldn't replace my phone... I have a dead pixel and the guy said it had to be more then one pixel to "be a problem"
So my one dead pixel that i notice every time i look at my phone isn't a problem? whats up with that?
I love apple to death but come on... i spent $600 on this phone and your not gonna help me out?

It's a tough thing to hear but any company that manufactures an LCD anything will usually tell you that dead pixels are just a part of the hardware and you typically need several for it to be considered defective. This is what you'll get from any MP3 or monitor manufacturer.

  • I got a damaged iphone today :( after apple sent me an ipad with dead pixel

    Great,
first apple sent me an ipad with dead pixel and misbehaving display and now they are sending me this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/schipplock/4880028188/sizes/l/in/photostream/
    Would you send it back?
Dear god, give me any reason why I ever should consider buying apple hardware again if quality management is so bad...I mean I spotted it in two or perhaps three seconds after unboxing it.
What makes me angry now is that this microsim card now doesn't fit into my old phone so when Apple wants to send me another iphone it takes ages (again!)...and I'm without a phone...great :!
    Apple oh Apple :/.

I don't know if you can do it at an Apple store. But AT&T will let you order the iPhone 4 and still keep what you have until the new phone arrives.

  • Does my iPhone warranty cover dead pixels?

I have an iPhone 4s and my warranty expires on October 23rd 2012. I have one dead pixel on my LCD screen and I was wondering will my warranty cover a dead pixel? Can I send it in for a screen repair?

Take it to a service center and see what they say.  It sounds like they would take care of it since I don't see how they could pass it off as abuse of the phone, but only Apple can say (we're just other users like you).  They won't actually repair it but completely replace it with a refurbished unit, so make sure you have everything backed up.
Also read what some of the topics about "dead pixel" on the right under "More Like This" say.

  • IPhone 5 Dead Pixel Warranty Question?

Hey guys! So I have an iPhone 5 with a bunch of dead pixels/dust sort of near the top.... My situation is somewhat unique, so I wanted to see what you guys thought! This iPhone 5 was in warranty just couple of months ago, where they replaced the screen glass. Now that these dead pixels/dust are on the screen (probably due to the 'repair' as they weren't there prior.) will they still cover it since it was something they caused right at the end of my 1 year warranty? Obviously I can create an appointment and find out, which I probably will, but I wanted to see if anyone had some insight on this! I don't want to make a trip just to find out they will do nothing for me....
    Thanks guys!
    potpotsie

Obviously you didn't read what I said. And if what you have to say doesn't matter then don't say it. Let me say it again for you, since you obviously failed to read it the first time. I don't want to make the extra trip if it isn't needed, I was looking to see if others have experienced this issue and what were the outcomes of them to avoid going to the Apple store and having a bad outcome. Not eveyone lives right next to an Apple store.
    Thanks for the help though!

  • So I just got my iPhone 5s and there appears to be a dead pixel on the top of the screen. Is there anything that could be done?

I was curious If anything could be done about a dead pixel on the top of my iPhone 5s screen? And I bought the phone directly from ATT if that makes a difference.

Take the iPhone back to ATT and show them the dead pixel on the display and get the iPhone replaced.

  • IPhone dead pixels?

I recently got my iPhone's screen changed after I noticed a huge amount of dead grey pixels growing near the bottom. After being replaced, it was good as new. A couple of months later and I noticed a few grey pixels at the top and they grew longer and wider by the day. At this point, I can only see half of the time and my carrier. I sent in my iPhone once more and they told me they switched my LCD, and I have payed for it as well as I no longer have a warranty but I can still see the dead pixels near the top. The first time was succesful, why not now? I'm starting to doubt the fact that they changed my LCD. Can anyone please tell me if the pixels would remain even after changing an LCD? It seems highly unlikely. Please help me as I still have the reciept and would need to take action immediately.

how can I identify stuck pixels with a magnifying glass?
You can't, but you can identify dust.
