Dead space showing up in print preview; can't place objects in it

hi -- Somehow, I've managed to get what I'll call a "dead space" in between my last page footer and my report footer. The design view looks completely normal: page footer A, page footer B, and report footer. None are suppressed.
However, when I go to the print preview, what I have is: page footer A, page footer B, a dead space, and then the report footer. The dead space looks like a section, in that the far left of the preview shows lines (like section dividers) both above and below the dead space. However, when I right click on the dead space, I don't get a Section Menu; I also don't get a section name when the mouse hovers over that dead space. I can't place objects in the dead space.
It wouldn't be a huge deal except for the fact that the report is long enough that the dead space causes it to overflow onto a second page, which isn't acceptable.
How can I get rid of this thing? I really don't want to recreate the report. It's quite complex.

That's interesting. I've never heard of this rogue spacing issue.
Why don't you try insertting the following in the Page Footer B Suppress formula.
Not OnLastRecord

I have a document from layoutready.com that I have been editing and it is a .doc file originally and won't show up. I've tried saving it as .docx and still nothing. Also, when I create a new document and put in a shape or a text box, it won't show up in print preview or print either. Excel is fine. I can insert a shape onto a worksheet and previews and prints fine. I have sent a document to a friend to test and when they open it in their word (on a pc) it previews and prints fine. I called stupid %*&#@ Microsoft and they want me to sign up for $99 Office 365 to get support. Ergh. Should I try to re-install Word? Oh, and I also updated to Yosemite last night.

Hi,
is a placeholder for non printable signs such as horizontal tabs and many others.
Please check the hex content of the text in debug mode. There should be no spaces there.

Print dialog is not showing the correct Print Preview document, image, or artboard sizes; printer is printing incorrectly

This is what the Print Dialog looks like. The print preview is too small. The final printed images are coming out all wrong.
This is happening for ALL DRIVERS (5 different printers) and 2 different USERS in our company.
It doesn't matter if you change the Media Size or any of the other settings here in the "Print" dialog, the "Page Setup..." dialog, the printer's own "Setup..." settings, etc... it's like Illustrator is using the wrong Artboard size. And why is there so much dark gray area around the page in the Print Preview? It looks really messed up.
We need this fixed immediately. This is a crazy bad bug... we can't print!

Not printing top 1/3 of pages, but shows all in print preview

No changes made
Has been faithful all-in-one for the last two years of service.
Just started this problem today.
View whole document (from file and have printed before with no problem) in print preview, then send print and top 1/3 of document is missing.
Have turned machine off with power button - disconnected both power cord and data cord - restarted all-in-one and continues with problem.
Have removed and reinstalled paper from bottom feeder - ink levels good and last changed 3 weeks ago.
Trying to print .pdf files on hard drive.

Will not print web pages or show them on print preview since upgraded to ver 4.0

when I try to print or click print preview I see a blank screen or just the first line at the top. When I click print I get a blank page.

I ran into same problem when I could not clear the print queue of my neighbor's Photosmart C5580 and had to reinstall the HP softwares. This happened serveral times when he printed email pages which contained embedded content. The problem started after he installed IE9. Reverting back to IE8 "fixed" the problem; that is the problem does not occur with IE8. Also, found out from colleague that Norton support recomends uninstalling IE9 in these situations.

2 weeks ago, Firefox changed. It will not print graphics in a web page or show them in print preview. It also does not provide the ability to select options in "print forms". they are now grayed out.

I am using www.investools.com
It prints the graphics in the normal page fine
but when I switch to prophetcharts, which loads javascript, the graphs do not display or print.
The text on the left side of the display show but graphs do not, even when I reduce printing size to 30%.
I am using an HP 8500 Pro Officejet.
Everything works in IE fine (but I don't want to use IE).

Print preview not showing values correctly. (single words are omitted)

When viewing print preview of ME23n , it does not shows the values correctly.
It omitting the single words.
If its having 2 or more words, it displaying correctly
For example;

By the way , since its a standard program, i think that code is out of our scope.
Me23N is a standard tcode but cusomters create Z-Program for printing by making a copy of standard.
You may please check upon the same.
Is it possible to check the results on a system where patch has not been applied ?

It turns out that this problem went away after the program crashed. Everything seems to be working well now.

PDF annotation with link, image doesn't show, only in print or Google Chrome, not Adobe Reader main

We are creating PDF files with annotations, we are using the O2 Solutions PDF Library for C#. We used to create PDFStampAnnotations, but now we want to make the images clickable, to navigate to the URL belonging to the image.
Therefore, we are now using PDFLinkAnnotations, with a PDFImageAppearance.
We set the flags of the annotation to Print.
However, the annotation won't show in the PDF in Adobe Reader. It does show in the Google Chrome inline PDF viewer.
It also shows in the print preview window in Adobe Reader.
But it does not show in the normal view in Adobe Reader. What we do see is, when hovering over the rectangle that should contain our image, our mouse cursor becomes a hand and a tooltip with the link is displayed. If we click, everything works as expected. But we don't see an image!
What can we do about this? This is really annoying, as I don't have a clue why it won't work. Actually, to me, this looks like a bug in Adobe Reader?

Indeed, I tried saving a PDF that had the "default appearance", it shows exactly the same. So it looks like it "can't" show the image.
However, of course, I do want the image to be shown. How can I achieve this? How can I tell Adobe Reader (and other PDF viewers) I really really realllyyyyy want to see that image there? I believe I'm not doing anything really exotic, right? There must have been tons of other people that wanted to do the same thing, I guess?

Smartform to PDF, how to suppres Print/Preview dialog

Hi Experts,
Facing some issues in downloading PDF converted from Smartform.
In the program I am trying directly download a smartform converted into PDF format and save it in local system.
When ever I am trying to execute the program it shows up the Print/Preview dialog before showing the Save As dialog.
I have passed control_parameters-getotf = 'X' to the smartform runtime FM, which ideally should have suppressed the Print/Preview dialog and return the otfdata.

Print Preview and Export not working FROM ALV Report

Hi
I have this ALV report which is working fine. But when I try to do a print preview it doesn't show the columns which r sorted. The columns r there but the data starts from the one which is not sorted so the layout is all messed up. In the ALV report the columns that r sorted groups them into one, I mean they just show only one time rest of the row for the same thing is blank it doesn't repeat the same data in those column. I am not sure whether that's causing it or not.
Please help.

do not sort passing parameters for sorting. Create a layout (called ALV variant) or do the sorting online clicking columns(s) and sort icons. It will not change when displayed in print preview.
What function/object do you use?
