Deadline nitification in SAP Workflow

Hi All,
I have set the request end time as 10 days fron workitem creation. Deadline notification will go to the user if the workitem is not completed within 10 days from workitem creation. These 10 days will include Saturdays/Sundays as well, I want to exclude Saturdays/Sundays from 10 days means if I have set it as 10 days then it should mean 10 working days.
Please suggest a solution.
Thanks and Regards,
Pankaj Sharma

Hi Pankaj,
You have to create a method to calculate the deadline date. You call this method just before the step you want to use the deadline in. In the method you calculate the deadline based on the factory calendar. You can use function END_TIME_DETERMINE for instance. If I am not mistaken there should be sample code in the download area.

  • SAP Workflow - Send Reminder Mail

    HI,
I am supposed to send a reminder mail to the user in my SAP Workflow. The scenerio is if the user has completed the given Work Item then the workflow ends but he has not completed the task then he should get a Reminder mail after 7 days.
Please let me know how to achieve this. Its a bit urgent for me. You comments are highly approciated.
    Thanks in Adcance,
    Sachin

    Hi Sachin,
You need to set up deadline monitoring for this.
On the task definition, there will be a tab for "Latest End".
On this you can define the dealine by which the task should be completed (e.g. 7 days from initiation), and the action to take if the deadline is missed (e.g. send a reminder mail).
There is some built-in help on this anyway, so it shouldn't be too confusing.
Hope that helps - I'd appreciate some points!!

    Dear all,
We are planning to implement SAP workflow, for the creation of material master and info record of the materials. We are using SAP 4.7 version. Can you give me any idea or hint about how we can configure these cases. Is there any standard workflow on SAP?  If you can also send me documents or web address would be appreciate.
    Thank you for your help

Yes there is and you might not need any help from a workflow professional if you are trying to keep it simple

  • SAP Workflow and GRC 10.1 Workflow

    Hi all,
We are in the midst of upgrading our GRC system up to 10.1 and some questions are coming up about the workflows.  In short are GRC workflows and SAP workflows the "same thing", i.e. if someone outside of the upgrade project were to learn how to create/maintain workflows within GRC 10.1 would they be able to turn around and run the same transactions within an ECC 6.0 environment and create SAP Business workflows?  From what I have seen so far in my searching is that, they have the same basic principle but very different implementation/maintenance.
Any documentation that you are aware of from SAP showing this would be helpful as well.
    Thanks

The basic mechanism is the same, but the GRC workflows are more fixed (they leave less room for the workflow to be changed) have build in screens, and relay on the BRF engine to determine approvers etc.
Workflows in the ECC give you a lot more room for implanting the workflow however you wish (use a decision task, asynchronous tasks, develop your own custom approval screen etc.) and some time required you to implement changes to the workflow object (set a user status, release a document etc.) and don't usually use the BRF.
So I would have to say that the answer is no, someone who learned how to implement the GRC workflows will not be able to turn around and immediately create workflows in the ECC.

  • How to route the information to approver with out involving sap workflows.

    Hi Developers,
i have a doubt regarding how the requester filled form information will be send to approver with out involving SAP workflows in the portal.
Normally i know the procedure where users fills the form with the approver details, the filled information is routed to approver UWL by trigerring a function module thru webdynpro.
But i need to know is there any procedure to route the information without involving any backends.
    Thanks in Advance.

Michele is correct - sneep will help you get the serial from the running domain on the M3000 ,
and it is a good idea to install STB on your machines.
If that isn't possible for you, then sneep can be downloaded directly from [http://www.sun.com/sneep]
I believe that on this platform, sneep gets the serial from the output of prtconf.
There is a minor correction to be made :
After installed SNEEP use "man sneep" for all technical details. The sneep man page is not linked into the shared man pages, so you need to use
    man -M /opt/SUNWsneep/man sneep
with out going to OK prompt (Banner)It is worth noting that the serial shown in the OBP banner is not the product serial
that you will find on the physical serial tag.
The banner "serial" is the decimal equivalent of the host ID, which you normally get in hexadecimal from the "hostid" command.

  • What's the work can we do for the position SAP-Workflow developer live link

    Hi,
I got the requirement as a workflow developer.
The requirement is to work as a SAP-Workflow live link open text developer.
What does the  live link open text means?
    Early reply is highely appriciable.
    Regards,
    Chow.

    Hi,
OpenText is a company providing different document management and archiving solutions. LiveLink is one of their archiving solutions. (Just use Google for more reference.)
My guess is that you need to work with a workflow process that involves archiving of scanned invoices.

    2. BIT601, SAP Webflow - Build and Use
    3. BIT610, WebFlow - Programming

  • SAP Workflow: how to integrate html forms

    Hello.
I have to built up a workflow, which starts with an ABAP report. This ABAP Report selects a number of persons and then an email is sent to these persons. A hyperlink should be in this email and the person should click at the hyperlink, which opens an html-form. In this html-form some data is filled in and then is sent to our SAP HR system where we start again an apab report.
    My questions:
    1) is this a typical process for SAP Workflow?
    2) What pre-conditions regarding our SAP HR system do we have (do we need ITS)? Where can I find an example for such a workflow with html-form?
    3) Is this state of the art? Please tell me some SAP keywords that I can continue my investigation.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
Then, you should activate Workflow Extended Notification component.

    Hello experts,
could anyone explain the differences between SAP workflow and Guided Procedures???
I know that workflows are just compatibel with a ABAP Stack. Is there a document which compares both process technologies???

    Hi Martin!
Because my tutor and my professor want to know, if it's possible to start a GP-process from SAP WebFlow automatically if a certain step is reached in WebFlow.
I have a process as an example and in that process company A works with Workflow and company B, who is responsible for maintenance of a machine works with Guided Procedures.
When a machine is damaged a Guided Procedure process of company B should be started and after reparing and end of GP the SAPWorkflow should continue.
The normal way via iporting a WSDL file isn't possible because SAP WebFlow doesn't support SOAP Binding which is necessary for Guided Procedures.
However in Guided Procedure it's possible to create an URL of a process instantiation. And if you call that URL in your Browser with parameters "process.template.id = xxxxx" and "process.autostart=t" the process will be started automatically.
So for the first, I just want to call the URL from SAP WebFlow to trigger the GP process. (the handler customizing is done correctly) So I thought with transaction "wf_extsrv" it's possible if you refer to the URL of the process instantiation with process.template.id and process.autostart=t.
Then generate a task and start the GP-process with the activity referring to the task. That would be a first step to show if it's possible.
    If yes.
Then I can attend to pay attention to the export and import parameters.
    Can you follow me?
    I hope so.
I think that post is much too long.
If you want I can write you my ideas exactly via email.

  • SAP Workflow as Enterprise BPM tool?

    Howdy,
This doesn't seem to fit in BPM Methodology Forum....  nor is it a purely technical question of SAP Workflow.
Another part of our company is starting vendor evaluation process for possible purchase of BPM tool (IBM Lombardi, Appian, Tibco, etc) after ruling out open source options.   Should I suggest they look at SAP Workflow & UWL as "existing/free" option we own?   Will it cleanly manage events from non-SAP applications?
    Background:
    1) We've never adopted SAP Workflow (expertise limited); maybe have three to five in Production.
    2) Enterprise BPM requirements are to integrated various applications/events from various platforms worldwide (75% of events would not be SAP centric).
    3) We've discontinued our XI server... all we had from SAP was SUS Interface (in 6 yrs).  We have Tibco EMS & BW for middleware connectivity.   Will SAP Workflow/UWL function without SAP XI - will it integrate with Tibco?
    4) Large population without SAPGUI., use UWL now from some actions... would need to use UWL for Enterprise access - or should consider BWSP?
Anything else that would help to answer the general question of using SAP Workflow for non-SAP events/data?
    Thanks,

I was hoping for a better answer.... a work-around to use our Tibco infrastructure (repl XI) and "hooks" into SAP.   Darn....
I wasn't finding very many articles, etc. that were encouraging SAP Workflow as an Enterprise BPM.
But thanks for your experience and reply....

  • No mail is sent from SAP Workflow

    Hi
We are sending mail from SAP Workflow to Lotus notes email. We have made the correct configuration in su01d for users whom we are sending by mentioning email address and communication method as email. We have also checked that program RSCONN01 is running periodically. We checked the SCOT transaction and no entries has been registered from SAP Workflow. we have defined SMTP node as required but still nothing happens.
I have also tried to send mail from SBWP but no entries is registered. Can you tell me what is the problem. I think it might be the issue between linkage between SAP and mail server. Can anyone tell me what needs to be checked here. I have done config for SICF Tcode also.
    Thanks
    Arghadip

    > I have also tried to send mail from SBWP but no entries is registered.
Are you still not able to send mail from SBWP? You need to fix this problem first, then you can start worrying about the workflow mail-sending capability. The user which sends e-mail needs to have an e-mail address defined in the user record.
Try defining an e-mail address for your own user and send an e-mail from SBWP. This should show up in SCOT, either as waiting in the queue, or (if you have bad luck with your timing) as sent e-mail. If the e-mail doesn't even show up in SCOT, ask Basis to help you figure out what is wrong.

  • Migration of SAP Workflow to non-SAP system

    Hi All,
If there is a SAP Standard or custom Business Workflow in SAP system and if we want to implement the same business flow in some non-SAP system(EX: Oracle Apps,Workflow tools etc.,) where Workflows can be used...
Can we migrate the SAP workflow into that system (non-SAP) by converting to the SAP Workflow template in xml or other format that supports the non-SAP system?
Can the above said scenario be done?
Or what is the process of Migrations of Workflows from SAP to non-SAP or Vice versa.?
    Thanks in advance
    Hraish Kollipara

    Hi,
From your posting what I can understand is you want to model the same Process in other System e.g. Oracle Apps  which is already modeled and working properly in SAP system. I wonder if its possible to download the template from a system and use it in other. As per my knowledge every system has its own development Engine which is configured to work in a specified way. So if its possible then its really time saving.
