Deal with 250 GB of Mailbox size

Folks, any possible and good options to deal with 250GB of mailbox size. As looking for BEST method to Archive the same from the server side but as was got to know with retention policy and tags this much of GB mailbox won;t work or might be having an
issue or mailbox won;t archive . As we have third party application in place called mimecast through whcih we can use the archiving feature from that as well but that will be slow while doing the online search. So suggestion pls .. Thanks

Hi,
To reduce the size of the Exchange mailbox, I recommend you split your large .pst file into serveral smaller .pst files. You can use the AutoArchive feature in Outlook to achieve this.
With a large mailbox, you may face some performance issues. I recommend you export mailbox to PST regularly.

  • How do I deal with JPEGs of wildly various sizes for my HD Project?

My project comprises HD DVCPRO Interviews.  Within those Interviews I'm trying to integrate JPEGs that were given to me on an external drive, but their Frame Sizes vary from 159x180 to 12648x9575 !  How do I deal with a 4584x5928 .peg for instance?  Does anybody have any idea?  I tried MPEG Streamclip_Export Frame_720x480 and it comes out crushed horizontally.  What dimensions would you recommend? Thank you very much for any suggestion.

When you add the anything to the timeline, they "adopt" the sequence settings.  The clips themselves won't change at all...but when added to the timeline, they "render" to the sequence settings. So the stills will remain with the dimensions they have, but when rendered, the portion you added to the timeline will adopt the timeline settings.
No need to buy Photoshop. PREVIEW is free, part of the apps that come with your computer, and can resize any picture file.  No need to get GIMP.
Yes, resize all stills to under 4000 pixels BEFORE you import. FCP will have issues with anything over 4000 pixels.
    >2)  How do you calculate the other Dimension to go with 3800?
No idea what you mean.  Just use Preview...in the TOOLS menu use ADJUST SIZE, and make sure that the SCALE PROPORTIONATLY is checked and when you adjust one number, the other will scale to maintain the same dimensions.

  • Move of mailbox with over 30K of folders fails, how to deal with this.

    Hello all,
I'm in the process of moving all Exchange 2010 mailboxes to newly created databases located on new storage.
Every mailbox except one moved successfully, the "problem" mailbox keeps failing and I need some advise on how to deal with this.
The mailbox that keeps failing is only 4 GB but has over 30K of folders that the users created manually over the years.
They are unable to easelly delete folders as they have created many sub folders within the folders.
I posted a part of the failed move request log below.
Can anyone advise on how to solve this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Based on the description, please run the following commands to check if there are any message limit size. Try to increase the limit size then move this mailbox.
    Get-mailbox –identity “user name” | fl MaxSendSize,MaxReceiveSize
    Get-transportconfig | fl MaxSendSize,MaxReceiveSize
    Get-transportrule | fl MessageSizeOver
    Get-sendconnector | fl MaxMessageSize
    Get-receiveconnector | fl MaxMessageSize
Note: Once we increased the value we need to wait for the AD replication and cache to be cleared and then test the move mailbox.
If this doesn’t work, please try to move mailbox with the skip corrupted items. This will skip the corrupted items and move only the good items to the target mailbox.

  • How to deal with Mailbox is full (i'm on IMAP)

hi all. i realize this is not specifically a Mail problem but would anyone mind helping me figure out if there are various ways to deal with full mailboxes with mail getting kicked back from senders?
i have a large amount of email addresses and i have one that will not accept mail due to the size. i am trying to delete obvious junk mail from Mail and i am getting an error so i am not trying to do this from within the User Interface of my website host.
however, once i get below the limit should i DOWNLOAD all the mail to the local mail section of my laptop or desktop or how do i handle this? i mean, if i download all the mail to the laptop or to the desktop it is by definition not going to be available to my other devices and i sometimes really need to access this mail...
    THANKS

Sorry to bump this thread from the grave, but I too have similar problems, though for me it seems that it is only on Windows machines. (Again, sorry to crosspost, this is just like...the only conversation I've seen about this and felt it better to consolidate than despair in the loneliness of it all).
Has anyone been able to solve this at all?

  • How to deal with tiny text size on the display, especially in email?

I got a Macbook a week ago. I have been using a Windows laptop for about 5 years. Before that I had a couple of Mac desktops.
All in all I am very happy with the Macbook. I haven't had any of the problems which have come up in these forums, unexpected shutdown, bad DVD drives, etc. One thing I love about mine which I had not seen mentioned before I got it is that the Macbook (or mine anyway) is absolutely whisper quiet. I cannot hear the hard drive doing anything. My Dell laptop sounds like a construction site in comparison.
The main issue that is vexing me has to do with the high-res, small-size display. The combination of those two factors means that the text size onscreen is often so small that even with reading glasses I have serious eyestrain.
Back on my Dell this was a lot easier to deal with. In Internet Explorer and Outlook Express, there are very simple settings in the menus to make text sizes better. And this is really important -- those text sizes are remembered after you close and restart the program.
So far as I can tell, that is not true (in general) on the Mac. I find this shocking, since Apple makes such a big deal about the simplicity and usability of the Mac.
Specifically, in Safari I went into preferences and reset the fonts. A little more complicated than in Internet Explorer but it basically works alright.
With Apple Mail, though, it is really troublesome. There is no remember-able setting to increase the text size for viewing (that I can find). And the on-screen size of 12 point text in an incoming email in Apple Mail is just absurdly small. It makes me wonder if Apple is taking bribes from the American Opthalmology Association. This is going to ruin my eyesite pronto.
Of course I can hit Command-+ several times when viewing each email to increase the text size to a readable size. But what a pain.
Is there a way to make those settings rememberable?
Otherwise I like Apple Mail. But I really prefer not to have to hit 6 keystrokes when looking at each email just to get it to a reasonable size.
I looked at the help files for Mozilla Thunderbird. They seem to indicate that program works the same way.
How about Eudora? Any others? Any suggestions much appreciated.
    thanks

Hi Jeff, thanks for your careful attention and your comment.
But I have to point out you've missed what I'm talking about.
In OE, in the View menu (right on the menu bar, not under Tools>Options) there is a setting called "Text Size" which allows you to set the text size for viewing and composing (independent of sending). That makes it very easy to make the text easier to read on small screens. It does not "change the appearance of the formatted text so that it no longer corresponds to the intent of the sender". It merely makes the text bigger or smaller, like a magnifying glass.
Via email I had some back and forth today with another poster here discussing this. You might be interested to see the email he sent me in which he included both Helvetica 12 and Helvetica 14. I took a screenshot of the email he sent me (from Apple Mail). When I read this email in Apple Mail with the "Message Font" set to Arial 18 (which is the size I need it set at for readability), Helvetica 14 is displayed at a smaller size than Helvetica 12.
    screenshot here: http://www.pbase.com/paulduke/image/64910338/original
    That's weird.
Here's a test I did, and this is what really matters to me.
I sent two emails from Windows/Outlook Express. For one I set the default composing font to Arial 12. For the other I set the default composing font to Arial 18.
When I downloaded and read these emails in Apple Mail, sure enough, the Arial 18 font appears much bigger than the font in the Arial 12 mail.
Then I did the reverse. I set the "Message Font" in Apple Mail prefs to Arial 12. Sent an email.
Then I changed the "Message Font" to Arial 18 in prefs and sent another email.
Then I downloaded both these emails into Outlook Express.
On OE, font size is displayed exactly the same in both emails.
So that's good -- I know that Apple Mail, whatever the setting in "Message Font", is sending some sort of "standard" font size. (By the way, I have Apple Mail set to send Rich Text Format mail). My correspondent tells me that Apple Mail doesn't send "true" HTML mail, and Outlook Express does, so perhaps that explains this.
Okay, no big deal. But if I were a graphic designer and I wanted to know for sure that my carefully crafted email styles were getting through, I might be going bonkers because of this.
But I'm not a graphic designer, and for the moment my concerns are assuaged.
And I accept the wisdom of your advice to "go native". I'm trying, I'm trying...

    Hello Friends,
Need small help i need to take out the list of users start with Alphabet A, B , C till Z per database along with their mailbox size limit so is there any simple way to get the list.

    Hi,
    How about this?
    http://help.outlook.com/en-us/140/gg576861.aspx
    EDIT: Or maybe this:
    $out = @()
    $users = Get-Mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited
    ForEach ($user in $users) {
    $userMailboxStatistics = Get-MailboxStatistics $user
    $props = @{
    Username = $user.SamAccountName
    DisplayName = $user.DisplayName
    Database = $user.Database
    OrganizationalUnit = $user.OrganizationalUnit
    'Quota Status' = $userMailboxStatistics.StorageLimitStatus
    TotalItemSize = $userMailboxStatistics.TotalItemSize
    $out += New-Object PsObject -Property $props
    $out | Sort-Object Database,DisplayName | Export-Csv .\mbxDetails.csv -NoTypeInformation
Adjust the $props hash as needed to add/remove properties to the output object.

  • Best way to deal with different screen sizes

    Hi !
We have been a small company using java for our client ( http://www.topbridge.com ) . The Swing client has used panels with absolute positions so the client would fit in 800x600 screen. Since java is 'run everywhere' we would like to rewrite it so it also possible to run on smaller screens ( zaurus ) . Any suggestions about best way to do this? Is there any layout method that would try to fit everything within a given screen size?
    Thank you!

The Swing client has used panels with absolute positions
Well there's your problem: your UI was written by someone who didn't know how to write a UI.
Always sketch your UI on paper, break it into logical sections rather than dealing with everything in one go (your code should break down accordingly in any case) and for each of those sections determine where space should be allocated when resizing - from this, the decision of which layout managers to use will fall out naturally.

  • Exchange 2013 - EMC 2013 - View Mailbox Size With Column In EMC - How To View Mailbox Size Exchange 2013?

Is there a way to add a column to show each users mailbox size in the EMC for Exchange 2013 under recipients > mailboxes?
Such a simple tool would be so much easier for administrative purposes.

    Hi,
There is no way to add the column of mailbox size back to EAC in Exchange 2013, I don't know why this option is removed and there is no official document explaining this issue.
To get the mailbox size, we can use commands to get it.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Dealing With Non Uniform Array Sizes

Would it be possible to store data such as
    1 2 3 4 5 6
    0 2 4
    3 1 4 1 5 9 2 6 5 3 5 8 9
Where each row is not nessicarly the same length. I need to later call a specific row by row number and plot the 1D array. I have figured out arrays wont deal with the non uniform length and will instead fill in the extra elements so they all match in length. Is there any way around this?
    Thanks

It is generally better to use Repalce Array Subset or autoindexing to build an array. Insert into Array may cause memory allocation problems. Here are two mnodifications to your VI which show both methods. If you need to see the results as you go, the Replace Array Subset is best. If you do not need the data until the for loop completes, autoindexing is the preferred choice.
Note that you may need to initialize your shift register. Run the VI multiple times and watch the results.

  • Dealing with null values from a database (easy?)

I'm sure this should be a simple question :
I'm creating a dynamic dropdown of my companies products that once a product is selected draws values (links) from a database and displays them (links to User guides, FAQs etc).
My problem is dealing with blank entries in the database - i.e. if a product doesn't have a User guide I've left the database blank.
I'd like to show 'none' or 'not available' if the entry is blank rather than the 'null' I currently get.
I'm sure it should be a straightforward if .... else .... but I'm struggling and would appreciate any help,

  • How to deal with huge old stockpile of footage ala "Mr. Brainwash"??

Total newbie who is feeling a little stuck, and could really use some help dealing with a "video hoarding paralysis"...
Here's what I've got: about 250gb of clips, covering a span of 5 years and a dozen main projects.
I did all of the original uploading to iMovie on an old MBP, and made some quick youtube videos with some of the stuff.
I now have all those iMovie events and projects on an external HD, with a new(er) 2012 iMac, and considering what to do next.
=> Possibly migrate over here to FCP, and start working with somebody more skilled with the editing process, towards a final cut or short series of edits, featuring all my past work. A showreel sort of thing.
For those who have seen the film, I guess its similar to Thierry Guetta aka "Mr Brainwash" in Exit Through The Giftshop-- the way he kept stockpiling years of footage of street artists (then just sitting on it)... until Banksy came along and patched it together for the full-length documentary.
Anyways, I'm looking for help/suggestions/anything to get going on this. I'd like to try and clean up all my clips and get them well-organized, or in a presentable enough state, to then share with a skilled editor and eventually do something more professional with it.
Suggestions on where to begin would be really helpful right now. Thanks for reading.

may be a bit abstract what I'm telling now… but I try anyhow:
    • when you import from a SDcard (or back-up of a SDcard) you can select what to import, what not; for 'files' FCPX doesn't give this option, you have to use this handy tool
    http://www.spherico.com/filmtools/X-Files/VirtualCameraCard.dmg
which 'converts' files into 'cameras' …
Hint #1 => if you know what to keep and what not, import smart!
    • use paper&pencil: What in the end should the final project look like? What highlights? What makes a clip special, that is allowed to be part of that Project? Write down criteria.
Hint #2 => work backwards, from final project to keywords
    • in FCPX you can apply keywords to a clip, part of a clip, several keywords for one clip, overlapping 'zones' of keywords;
Hint #3 => don't think in shallow 'drawers' (one clip = jst one folder; tags are much smarter)
    • then, FCPX creates automatically 'playlists' - if one of your keywords is 'Interviews', click on corresponding playlist - tadahh!
Hint #3 => learn to use FCPX mighty 'data-base features', invest 20$ into Lessons for FCPX << link to AppStore
    • FCPX allows to create smart-lists - combine criteria, e.g. "outdoor + interviews" to filter clips.
HInt #3 => no need to organize manually; FCPX is faster than you
So, it's all about organizing the clips; here, pro Michael Graber explains his sorting schemes
    http://www.fcp.co/final-cut-pro/tutorials/1436-log-like-a-ninja-in-final-cut-pro -x-with-michael-garber
… and 250 GBs isn' that much

  • How to get around a performance issue when dealing with a lot of data

    Hello All,
This is an academic question really, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my issue, but I have some options.  I was wondering if anyone would like to throw in their two cents on what they would do.
I have a report, the users want to see all agreements and all conditions related to the updating of rebates and the affected invoices. From a technical perspective ENT6038-KONV-KONP-KONA-KNA1.  THese are the tables I have to hit.  The problem is that when they retroactively update rebate conditions they can hit thousands of invoices, which blossoms out to thousands of conditions...you see the problem. I simply have too much data to grab, it times out.
I've tried everything around the code.  If you have a better way to get price conditions and agreement numbers off of thousands of invoices, please let me know what that is.
I have a couple of options.
    1) Use shared memory to preload the data for the report.  This would work, but I'm not going to know what data is needed to be loaded until report run time. They put in a date. I simply can't preload everything. I don't like this option much.
    2) Write a function module to do this work. When the user clicks on the button to get this particular data, it will launch the FM in background and e-mail them the results. As you know, the background job won't time out. So far this is my favored option.
    Any other ideas?
Oh...nope, BI is not an option, we don't have it. I know, I'm not happy about it. We do have a data warehouse, but the prospect of working with that group makes me whince.

My two cents - firstly totally agree with Derick that its probably a good idea to go back to the business and justify their requirement in regards to reporting and "whether any user can meaningfully process all those results in an aggregate". But having dealt with customers across industries over a long period of time, it would probably be bit fanciful to expect them to change their requirements too much as in my experience neither do they understand (too much) technology nor they want to hear about technical limitations for a system etc. They want what they want if possible yesterday!
So, about dealing with performance issues within ABAP, I'm sure you must be already using efficient programming techniques like using Hash internal tables with Unique Keys, accessing rows of the table using Field-Symbols and all that but what I was going to suggest to you is probably look at using [Extracts|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/9f/db9ed135c111d1829f0000e829fbfe/content.htm]. I've had to deal with this couple of times in the past when dealing with massive amount of data and I found it to be very efficient in regards to performance. A good point to remember when using Extracts that, I quote from SAP Help, "The size of an extract dataset is, in principle, unlimited. Extracts larger than 500KB are stored in operating system files. The practical size of an extract is up to 2GB, as long as there is enough space in the filesystem."
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,
    Sougata.

  • Mailbox size increased after removing attachments

Doing a little clean-up on my mail, I noticed my sent mailbox was 1.23 gigs. So, I went in saved several hundred attachments and then tried to remove attachments. It would only let me remove attachments about 5 messages at a time, so I moved over 300 messages that all had attachments to a new folder. After moving them I was able to remove all the attachments at one time.
But after moving and removing attachments the size of my sent mailbox did not decrease it actually increased by over 400 megs to 1.7 gigs. And the new folder was also very large, at almost 700 megs (even after removing attachments).
Any ideas how/why this happens? and what can I do to reduce the size of that mailbox?
I have had the overflow issue before and have been trying to keep and eye on the mailbox sizes and keep them under 1 gig, but this one got by me. My only complaint is mail does not tell you the size of a mailbox in the application, if I was able to check the mailbox size right from the app it would be an easier thing to keep an eye on an everyday basis.
Any help would be great.. thanks!
    G4 400   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

For each mailbox, Mail 1.x stores messages sequentially in an mbox file within the *.mbox package associated with the mailbox -- you can see the files contained in an *.mbox package by ctrl-cliking on it in the Finder and choosing Show Package Contents from the contextual menu.
When a message is removed from a mailbox in Mail 1.x, the actual message may be completely erased from the mbox file, or it may remain there just marked for deletion in one of the other supporting files within the *.mbox package. In order to reduce the mailbox size when a message is deleted from the middle, the entire mailbox would have to be rewritten to disk every time, which is clearly not practical.
When attachments are removed from a message, the attachments aren’t actually removed from anywhere. What really happens is that Mail creates a new message without the attachments and deletes the original message... and now you know what it really is that actually happens when a message buried in the middle of the mailbox is deleted...
My only complaint is mail does not tell you the size of a
    mailbox in the application
Mail 1.3 sure does. The size of the selected mailbox is displayed in the status bar (View > Show Status Bar). Interestingly enough, that feature is no longer available in Mail 2.x.

  • How to deal with tablespaces in Oracle XE (10g)

    Hi,
First want to say I'm not a DBA so my knowledge on how to work with tablespaces is very limited. I built an application in Apex 3.2.1 on Oracle XE 10g and today for the first time I received this error when trying to save information to the database:
ORA-01691: Unable to extend lob segment by .... for table space FLOW....
What is the best way to deal with this? For now, after doing some google searching, I set my tablespace to AUTOEXTEND (it had reached about 500MB which was its max size). Is this the correct way to deal with this situation? Or should I create a new tablespace? I've never changed any of the default settings/tablespaces that came with the Apex/Oracle XE installation.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated....
    Thanks,
    Francois

ORA-01691: Unable to extend lob segment by .... for table space FLOW....
It seem related to tablespace is full and not able to extend more due to low hdd space or autoextend off or xe datasize limit(4g) reached!!!!
    SELECT sum(BYTES/1024)/1024 AS SIZE_IN_MB FROM DBA_DATA_FILES;
SIZE_IN_MB must not be more then 4gb
If SIZE_IN_MB is less then 4g then check that Autoextend is off or on.
    I hope this help
