Deal with multiple inbound calls on 2 x BRI to one extension number
This feels like a really dumb question but I have RTFM and still am stuck.. This is my first UC setup, although I do a lot of IP networking...
We have a UC540W with 2 x BRI so up to 4 PSTN calls.
I want the inbound calls to go to extension 100 which should appear on a line key on all phones so any user can & should pick up incoming calls.
Phones are SPA500 Series (504 and 508)
I am working in CCA.
If I set it up with Line 100 as a shared number on all phones then only 2 calls can be presented and the 2nd call is only presented to the phone with the first call on it, the line key just shows as in use (red) on all other extensions.
The phones are not octal line compatible otherwise this would seem to be the answer to the problem.
I tried setting up (Via CLI) multiple ephone-dn with the same extension number and these appeared in the list for setting an overlay button, but CCA then overwrote these which makes it an unsuitable solution.
The other option would seem to be to set up a multiple extensions (101-104) and put these into a hunt group and under an overlay button, but as these numbers won't be assigned to an extension so can't see how to create these within CCA - if I put them in as floating extension then they appear in the list for an overlay button but not in the available list for setting up a hunt group....
This doesn't seem like such an unusual setup that it should be so difficult...

AFAIK you can have one iCloud account per user account and I can't find any suggestion that there is a limit to the number you can have.
However if in doing all this on the Mac you are talking about you have already created three iCloud accounts then you can't create any more, and there is no workaround for that. You can still sign into an existing iCloud account which has been created on another device, so is the sixth account you are talking about one which already exists? If it isn't, then you would have to use anoter device to create it, then you should be able to sign into it.
As to 'dissociating', just signing out in System Preferences>iCloud should do it. AFAIK the accounts are not tied to the hardware.
All this is to do with iCloud - iTunes accounts are a different can of digital worms and may behave differently.

I'm currently trying to make a package for the recent version of subversive for Eclipse Ganymede and I'm almost finished.
Some time ago the svn.connector components have been split from the official subversive distribution and have to be packed/packaged extra. And here is where my problem arises.
The svn.connector consists (among other things) of two files which are named the same:

At the moment makepkg downloads the first one, looks at its cache, and thinks that it already has the second file, too, because it has the same name. As a result, I can neither fetch both files nor use both of them in the build()-function...
Are there currently any mechanisms in makepkg to deal with multiple source files having the same name?
The only solution I see at the moment would be to only include the first file in the source array, install it in the build()-function and then manually download the second one via wget and install it after that (AKA Quick & Dirty).
But of course I would prefer a nicer solution to this problem if possible. ^^

now i have a question on how to deal with multiple disk path's
so following questions:
- can i enable multipath on the primary and on the alternate domain?
i tried this but when rebooting the alternate the alternate keep's freezing and the only solution is to hard stop it and it's depending host
- if i can't enable multipathing how to handle this
for example a disk has on the primary domain 4 path's to a disk
do i then assign all 4 path's to a virtual disk server or do i create a virtual disk server per path

if you are going to use alternate domain you have to give this IO the all bus root nexus, what you describe sounds like DIO,

If you have 4 path to the same disk in the primary and you are using multipath let's say mpxio, then you will have only one disk in the primary, which is a virtual device that handle the 4 paths. That's is what you have to use in a vds.

How to deal with multiple language SQL script?

We now want to create a SQL script that contains multiple languages(English, Chinese, Japanese), this script need to be run at there different database installed on different OS, for example, Oracle9i on Windows 2000 English Edition/Chinese Edition/Japanese Edition.
If I save the file as ANSI format, this file will only be recognized at local OS(e.g. the Chinese and Japanese character will not be normally displayed on other OS, if I run the script, the CH/JP characters will not be stored normally in DB).
If I save the file as Unicode format, this file can be recognized by all three OS, but Oracle SQL Plus will not recognize it, thus we can't run the script.
Who can tell me how to deal with this issue? Is it possible to save only one script that can run on different language OS?

The ISQLplus supports multiple languages, but there will be following problems for my case:
1.ISQLplus don't support Unicode format script too, so I must save the file as ANSI format.
2.To display the characters normally depends on the database server's platform. I create a script contain three languages with ANSI format in Chinese OS, but if I want to load this script to database server installed on English OS via ISQLplus, the Chinese characters will not be displayed normally too.
PS:
So, I think this is not only related with Oracle but also the Windows OS, it is hard to create one file with ANSI format that can be displayed normally in different platforms.

How to deal with multiple hard drives?
I am using Aperture 1.5 but am having trouble
dealing with the Library structure. I want to be able to have Aperture recognize and work with Projects located on several different external hard drives. Where should the main library be located? In 1.5 is there such a thing anymore as a Branch library? I had a branch library on an external drive. I may have messed things up so that Aperture doesn't quite know where things are. Is there a way to re-organize things so that when I open Aperture ALL the projects I've worked with do appear? Thanks.To have Aperture work with projects on different hard drives, just import the project files but tell Aperture to copy the files from their current location (say a media card or CD) to a directory of your choice on any drive of your choice. You can store projects on multiple drives. I don't think it matters where the main library is located, it could be on your primary drive, or on one of your external hard drives. I'm not sure how to consolidate projects that were enclosed in different libraries other than to export the projects individually, and then reimport them into the new centralized library. I do wish Aperture would allow one multiple select projects (it only allows you to select one at a time) for exporting. I also wish that Aperture had a 'Consolidate Libraries' command which would allow one to just pull all 'found' projects into one library.

7920 Unable to answer with two inbound calls ringing
I have a CME customer reporting that when their 7920s have two inbound calls ringing at the same time they are unable to answer either call.
The 7920s are a shared extension, on Dual Line DNs, with their desktop phones.
CME is 4.0(2), and the 7920 phone load is 4.0-03-00.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, or have any idea what might cause it?

If controller is pre-4.0.217.0 version then would want to set the 802.1p tag for the platinum QoS profile to 7 vs 6 or upgrade to 4.0.217.0.

SQL Dealing with multiple choice answers in a DB with no unique identifier
I am working with a Database that has forms set up with multiple select fields. As seen below, (Question_ID 2533) the Patient_ID, Visit_ID, and Question_ID are the same and there are 3 different answers that were chosen. I am trying to figure
out how to seperate these Multiple answers so I can use SSRS to pull them into seperate fields. I believe I know how to use SSRS to pull the data after I have differentiated each answer. I need help with the SQL code...

Buddies with multiple IDs: how to message to a specific one?
Here's a relatively simple problem, on the face of it, that I can't figure out how to solve. Is there in fact a solution?
I have an increasing number of buddies with multiple IDs (almost always AIM), for instance, one for home and one for work. Because most of them have broadband in both places, they don't shut their computers down in either location and are usually signed in to iChat/AIM in both. I've got their various IDs noted in their cards in Address Book, but in iChat I only see one entry for the person regardless of which ID, or both, is signed in at the moment. There doesn't seem to be much logic to which picture iChat displays along with the entry, so I can't ever tell which ID I am looking at. I know that a mouseover on the iChat entry will tell me the status of all IDs associated with that person, but how can I send a message to the ID that I want?
Example: buddy is at work and signed in using work ID. Buddy's spouse is at home, also signed in, using home ID. I see one entry for my buddy, showing as active. It might display the home picture and it might display the work picture. If it's the home ID, and open a message window, I'll be messaging with the spouse at home, instead of with my buddy at work -- and I don't see any way to get at the other ID. Is there a way to pick the ID I want to message with?
I see that I can keep them separate if I create different groups and add each ID, from the same card, to each group. But that's clumsy (as is creating separate cards altogether) and basically removes the meaningfulness of the groups. Is there some obvious trick I am missing, or is what I want to do just not possible?Hi Ralph,
You're exactly right; I need to do the opposite. I suspect it just isn't possible or the solution would be more self-evident. As I mentioned in my original post, the only way I've been able to make it work is to add the IDs separately in iChat and make sure they are added to different groups. Doing this will keep them separate but based on the same Address Book card. In the same group, however, they collapse into one entry and lose their meaning. Unfortunately, keeping separate groups for such a purpose makes the groups essentially meaningless.
As I would imagine this to be an increasingly common occurrence, this seems to be a definite shortcoming of iChat.

Problem with multiple Ajax calls to the same Servlet

I have a requirement where in, i have to make ajax calls to the same servlet in an infinite loop and check for an application context attribute to refresh the contents in the JSP.I am using the following script in JSP. The problem is i am not able to invoke the servlet more than one time.But I am able to go through the script at specific time interval using setInterval() function of Javascript and able to get alerts.But the problem is with xmlhttp.open("Get", url, true);. The mapping from URL to servlet can contain anything you want. So you could have the URL /blah/blah/blah that, with a mapping something like /blah/* would pass all requests with that URL pattern to your servlet - no one has to know it is a servlet. Your servlet could then parse the URL to see what it has to do or you could pass parameters as part of the URL or as hidden fields.

Question: Best practices for dealing with multiple AM configurations

I have a project using ADF Business Components and ADF Faces. I would like to set up multiple configurations for the Application Modules to support the following scenarios:
1). Local testing and debugging - using a connection defined in JDeveloper and AM Pooling turned off.
2). Testing and debugging on an application server - using a JDBC Data Source and AM Pooling turned off
3). Production deployment - using a JDBC Data Source and AM Pooling turned on.
It is no problem to create multiple AM configurations to reflect this scenario. In order for the web part of the application to use the correct configurations, the DataBindings.cpx file must specify the correct ones. I was thinking to have 3 different DataBindings.cpx files and to change the CpxFileName context-param in the web.xml file as needed.
My questions:
1). Does this make sense as an approach? It should be better than having to change a single AM configuration every time I deploy or test. Is there any easy way to keep multiple DataBIndings.cpx files in synch, given that we may add new pages from time-to-time? Alternatively, can we do some type of "include" processing to include just the dataControlUsages section into a common DataBindings.cpx file?
2). How would you manage the build-and-deploy process? For the most part, in JDev we would be using configuration #1. The only time to switch to configuration #2 or #3 would be to build an EAR file for deployment. Is this something that it would make sense to accomplish with ANT? I'm not an ANT expert at all. The ANT script would have "build-test-ear" and "build-prod_ear" targets which would swap in a correct web.xml file, recompile everything, build the EAR, then put the development web.xml file back. I'm relatively sure this is possible... comments?
3). Is there some other recommended approach?
I appreciate any insights from experience, or even just ideas or thoughts that I can test out.

Sorry for the long long delay in responding I've been traveling - and thanks for the e-mail tickler too...
To answer your question in short, I do think that ANT is the right way to go; there is an extra ANT task called XMLTask that I was able to download and play with, and it seems it would make this manipulation of the cpx file (or the xcfg file, for that matter) pretty straightforward. I don't have any code to post; it's just in the conceptual stage for me right now. I didn't see anything magical in JDev 11 TP3 that solved this problem for me either.
Having said all of that, it's more complicated than it might appear. In addition to the DataBindings.cpx file (stores, among other things, which AM configuration to use for each data control), it's certainly possible to programmatically access an AM (specifying the configuration either directly in the code or via a properties file/etc). I'm not sure what the most common use case for AM configurations is, but in my case, I have a Test configuration and a Prod configuration. The Test config, among other things, disables AM pooling. When I am developing/testing, I always use the Test config; in Production, I always use the Prod config. Perhaps the best way for me to do this would be to have an "Active" config and use ANT tasks to copy either Test or Prod to "Active." However, our Subversion repository is going to have a few complaints about this.

Bug when dealing with multiple file input elements?
I'm running Apex 4.2 and have an odd problem.
Back Story:
I have created a page on a standard web server (Apache) that allows a user to select multiple images from there local machine. The form reads one file at a time displaying a preview of the image and reading the exif data from the file. We are entering extra data about each picture into a form. So the flow of the page is: user selects images -> first image is displayed and user enters data -> submits data via ajax -> user hits button and next image comes up. The user repeats until all images are done. I have not done the ajax portion but all other parts work fine on the Apache server.
The Problem:
I need to recreate this type of form in Apex. If I create a multiple file input item on a page all the tabs stop working. They take you to a 404 page with the message "The requested URL /apex/wwv_flow.accept was not found on this server ". I have tracked it back to anything calling the apex.submit() javascript function.
Literally if I make a html region and place "<input id="uploadInput" type="file" name="myFiles" multiple>" into the region source the apex.submit() function stops working.

The normal approach to creating forms in APEX is to use declarative page items, or to create items dynamically using the apex_item API. APEX knows how to process these items because they are generated with names matching wwv_flow.accept parameters, but not manually created controls with arbitrary name attributes.
Are you planning on doing all of your form submission via AJAX? (I doubt that APEX will be able to natively handle a file browse control with a multiple attribute.) If so, remove the name="myFiles" attribute. You will still be able to access the control in JS using the ID, but APEX won't see it.
