We are all itunes users just like you.
Like all other software driven devices, the older hardware simply cannot handle the newest software forever. This is true of all software driven devices, not unusual at all.

Try to do a hard reboot (no data is lost) by holding down the home and power buttons at the same time untilyou see the Apple logo. Then, let go of both buttons. If that doesn't work, try restoring your iPod and do NOT restore from a backup. This will erase your data, but you can sync back everything except app data and settings from iTunes.

Which apps remain compatible will be up to the individual developers who sell those apps. There will be no further iOS updates, but those aren't really necessary to continue to use and enjoy your device. I still have an iPad 1 running on iOS 5, and it is fully functional.
The App Store has an app called VintApps 3.1.1 that is specifically geared toward iOS 3.1, however, you would probably be able to run most of those apps on your iPod, and considering that there will be a rather large market for iOS 6 apps users, it is not likely that you will see a significant reduction in choices any time soon.
It is not the end for the device in any sense except that it is at it's ultimate iOS level. And again, I have an iPad that is at it's ultimate iOS level (iOS 5), and I get new apps all the time that work for both my iPad and my iPhone that runs iOS 6.1.1

Well, that's not true....cause i had Ios 4.3...something on my 4 year old ipod touch, and i had facebook on it, but then i bouht a new computer, and the ipod was reinstalled, and now i can't install facebook or anything anymore, it just keep saying that i don't have Ios 4.3....and that's wierd because i had i before the reinstallation.....so my guess is that Apple, some how, have blocked the Ios 4.3 for this type of ipod touch, so everyone can go spend some money on new apple devices because the old ones can't be used for anything anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:S

Is there any way to upload iOS 5 on my 2nd gen iPod Touch?

         I purchased a 2nd generation iPod Touch, in January 2010, and at the time, this was the most current version available. It is the iPod touch, before the last one to not include a Camera (3rd Gen). I would really like the new features, and would especially like to upload iCloud to it (I have Lion on my computer). I am not in any mood to purchase a new iPod touch soon. I am happy with the old one, but would love the upgrade.
         Apple, can you please design iOS 5 for the iPod touch 2 gen? It would be helpful to many iPod users, and there will be more than one happy face (mine) if you do it.
Whenever I sync my iPod touch with my computer, it keeps saying my software is up-to-date. I have the version 4.2.1, and apparently it is up to date. Wish it weren't!

After updating to iOS 6.1.5 on my iPod Touch 4th Gen, some of my songs are skipping to the next song after 30 seconds even though the iPod appears to be playing the current song. Some of my songs are mp3 files that have been playing fine for years...
Anybody else experiencing this issue?
I'm using the latest version of iTunes and i don't have that problem on my PC. The only difference as far as i can tell is the updated iOS & firmware...

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.

How do you determine what version of the Darwin Kernel, iOS 4.3.3 uses in iPod Touch?

I tried looking this up in "Settings" > "General" > "About" but it doesn't give me this information.
Someone told me that he has Darwin Kernel 11.0.0 for his iPod Touch running iOS 4.3.3, but his iPod Touch is jailbroken. My iPod Touch isn't jailbroken, and I want to know what version of Darwin Kernel it is running. On Wikipedia, someone documented that the Darwin Kernel 11 begins with iOS 5--for a jailbroken iOS 5 device. I find this odd if my buddy has Darwin Kernel 11.0.0 for his device running iOS 4.3.3. Well, as all intelligent people know, we can't trust Wikipedia completely.
