I'm in a WiFi trouble here!! actually Troubles with WiFi on my iPad
* my wifi connects on every wireless network fine BUT:
1- my wifi works in every network EXCEPT my MiFi Novatel It disconnects after 5 / 10 mins sometimes hour, I have to reset the password, and when I change the ipad handling and flip it in different angles it connects back !!!!
2- My iPad, even with the networks that doesnt disconnect, not like the my MiFi Novatel, sometimes like when I wait for pictures to load on website, they (the pics) get stuck a little bit and doesnt load UNTIL I FLIP THE IPAD , I change the handling, sometimes even websites dont open until I change the handling!!
I also Updated yesterday my iPad to 3.2.2 , and NO, It doesnt solve the problem!
What's going on here? Is there a technical issue ? or something like that ? and when I went to the iCity official store in my country, the supporter talked to me like I'm lying or I'm a (NOOB)! he says No no no it works fine ( he didnt even see the ipad, and I think he never heard of the iPad wifi issues at all that even Apple official web admitted ) and he says that my problem is with the settings of my MiFi, Well ok ! I hope so! But HELP? and BTW , I have tried changing the pass encryption to WEP WPA and all with my MiFi Novatel, didnt work !
I'm in alot of trouble, Spent more than 500$ over a Disconnecting constantly tablet and even with good wireless networks lets say my mifi ***** but other networks sometimes I have to flip it to load webs, hello, The iPad is AWWWWESOME! but I seriously cant take this ?????

I had what sounds like a very similar issues and figured out fix.
On your router, try setting the encryption to wpa. There is an option for Auto that switches between AES and TKIP. Choose AES only.
Choose Forget on the iPad or iPhone (or both, depending on which you have). You will also find that you will have to delete the network on your home computer and other devices that access it as the new encryption settings won't match the new router settings. You will be prompted for the password. After weeks of grief, this managed to work for me. Hope it does for you too. I was about to do he discus toss with my iPad before I got here!

Unfortunately I only have until 5th of july 2013 until my 1 year warranty is up. After that, any issue I have, I have to purchase apple care. People are expecting this problem to be fixed but I don't see it being solved any time soon. This is horrible and really low, because I have been a good customer, when I talk to the people at the genius bar, I show the utmost respect I can to them for the work they put into their job, but somewhere there is a problem where something has gone wrong. Because of that, people that only have a one year warranty (which i received because I purchased my apple iPhone at an Optus outlet, once that one year warranty is up, I have to pay for a problem that isn't even my fault? My iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, and iPad 2 are running 6.1.3 with no such problem and the same with the overwhelming majority of iOS devices running 6.1.3.

My identity has been stolen from a big group of well organized criminals who are playing beautiful music together. Meaning they are working hard and well together at what they are trying to accomplish together. I shut my keys off and keep asking for the password. The password they had missed. I get an agent request and almost gave up my key to it because it would not get off my screen. I have a FaceTime that I have never accessed before and it had 8,000 downloads? What are all these downloads is that the Apple processing whatever needs to be in there or what? I think I am being used as a robot because I cannot understand what they really want from me. My phone call got redirected when I tried to call Microsoft last night and am smart enough to know what was going on and told the woman to back off . She said yes okay. I called a Microsoft # and got redirected to these criminals. I have spent too much time going back and forth to get my computer cleaned up by the geeksquad. The geek told me he has never seen anything like it in his life. What do they want from me? Maybe they bribed the government about me. I do not know what is really going on. I just installed OSx and Safari Last night and at the next morning they had been uninstalled. What do you think? Oh, My Mac Air has been restored twice already and is a month old. Dear Apple: WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO UPDATE TO A NEW IOS??

I have IOS 5.0.1 (9A406) and basically there is no difference on battery life. It drains too quickly. I would charge it to the full, and within an hour or two, it goes down to 84% just by using it occasionally(not even youtube playing or dowloading). I basically have to charge my phone at least twice or more a day. (trust me I'm not a heavy user at all. i check email, playing with apps time to time, a couple call a day, that's it).
Of course, I turned off Siri, notification, email push, etc, to make the battery last long but doesn't seem helpful at all.
APPLE! WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO UPDATE A NEW IOS??
I had been an iphone 4 user, and it seems that 4S is worse. it is slower, battery drains quickly.
PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT because it's already about a time to release iphone 5??

Like all other software driven devices, the older hardware simply cannot handle the newest software forever. This is true of all software driven devices, not unusual at all.

What should I do about wifi issue if reseting SMC didn't work?

I tried reseting the SMC and the wifi connection issue still exists. I've tried just about everything, from disabling bluetooth on Terminal to reinstalling the wifi. Still having issues with Wifi dropping every 30 or 60 seconds. Does anyone know of any other possible fixes for a 2013 MBP, or at this point, am I just not going to be able to use my laptop until the next update? If there is no other fix, at the very least does anyone know when the next update will be released?
I've been using my Samsung GS5 exclusively to use the internet (which I don't mind because the internet is actually faster on that device). I still prefer the larger screen and the physical keyboard of my MBP over a slight speed boost, but I can't use my MBP for anything except for music (which doesn't matter anyway because I have an iPod) and iPhoto (which I don't use that often). I really hope a fix is coming, because my expensive MBP has been useless for nearly two months now...
One last thing. I made the mistake of not backing up my computer before switching to Yosemite. Lessons were definitely learned. However, is there any way I can upgrade to Mavericks? Or am I stuck with Yosemite because I am stupid and forgot to backup the computer?

Lots of users have reported this issue its a bug with yosemite and apple are working on it. If its a huge issue to you I suggest downgrading to mavericks until the problem is resolved

I am not sure that this will help you but i let you know how i solve it:
Problem: iPhone 4 doesn't detect wi-fi networks after installed iOS 5.1
My iPhone stopped finding any network once i update it with iOS 5.1, so after read so many posts
around the web about it, and as i really need a wi-fi connection on a daily basis i did the following:
First step:
Reboot
Reset Network Settings
Turn Airplane mode On and Off
None of this steps worked for me
Second Step
Restore iPhone to factory settings, not from backup.
The iPhone detected wifi networks, but once i connected to one of them, after 1 minute
or two, he lost the connection and stop seeing any wi-fi networks again.
Third step
New restore from factory settings, not from backup.
The iPhone detected again the wifi networks, but this time instead of choosing from the list
of wifi networks, i choose to click on "other.." and insert the name of the wifi network and password
manually.
I went to turn off bluetooth as well, since i heard on the web that the bluetooth connection ON, will mess with the wifi on iOS 5.1.
No any problems until now, after 3 days of this procedure.
Probably there is a problem when the iPhone connects to the first wifi network we choose, and the drops everything. But once i make it like i mention on the third step, no more problems.

APPLE - you have not fixed the WiFi issues

OK, I admit that wifi has improved, bit it's not fixed. WiFi still stalls on loading pages.
Yes it's faster, yes it is more reliable, but after a while, it does still stall. The same fix as before is anwork around, but it's not over yet. Not by a longshot.
My current work around is to forget the network and re-join it. I'm down to twice a day now, not every five minutes, but seeing as my laptop can connect for over a week with out re-booting, this is definitely an Ipad issue.
Come on apple, get your thumb back into the sunlight and fix it once and for all.

I think a distinction between a router dropping connection a an iPAD that cannot maintain connection needs to be drawn.
I have now taken 2 iPADS 3g back with exactly the same problem as in it cannot maintain a connection to the router from a distance of less than 20ft.
I have six different items connected to my router, they are a printer, a nokia phone, 2 laptops, 1 Netbook and for a shortime an iPAD as well as my home pc
NONE of the aforementioned items save for the iPAD have had connection problems to my 14 month old router.
I can connect to my router with the laptops and netbook from my back garden without any problem, the printer remains in the same place which is quite close to the router, the Nokia phone connects anywhere I choose to connect.
The Ipad can connect to my network 20ft from the router but cannot maintain a connection with it dropping out every couple of minutes and when it is connected it is very slow in loading pages. The netbook and the laptops and nokia from the same location report a good signal and upload/download times are fine...
I have changed channels on the router, I've reset and updated the Ipad and rememberd to mess with the brightness but still I cannot maintain a connection.
My router shows that it has been connected to broadband continuously for 5 weeks except when recently rebooting it as per the notion that it would help the iPAD reconnect.
Simply put the iPAD does not perform, it is wholly unreliable where it's wi-fi is concerned and I do not think the latest patch was anything more than a tickle of the signal indicator etc....
Neither do I think that routers should be reset with it changed from wep to wpa as suggested by others. My usual pc is an iMAC5, it has no connection problems, it talks to my router without any problems as do all my other items. There is nothing radical in the hardward used in an iPAD that requires a new router or even for an established router to be reset.

Tell US what is really wrong.

Hi, I intalled Airport timecpasule and commenced my backups on the 16th july, i noted that backups were done on a regular basis. After a few days i shutdown and restarted my Apple Mac, and could not see any of the previous backs ups….when i look at the timecpasule "star wars" background all data prior to 1st August is not accessible. How can i retrieve the initial back up data?

In actual fact iChat came first.
It had Video Effects before Photo Booth came out and could/can take snapshots of the Preview pic or the chat.
Face Time at one level (visually) is a much simpler app all round.
It does one job. Connecting Video chats on a 1-to-1 basis.
iChat can connect to Jabber servers and/or use the AIM Network (i.e Screen Names and IDs from other servers)
Face Time uses Apple IDs
Face Time also uses port 5223 the same as Jabber servers do (Jabber servers use this for Login).
Currently an MobileMe name ending in @me.com is:-
1) an Apple ID (Access to Communities with an Alias, iTunes, On Line Store, MacApp Store and so on)
2) A Working Email
3) a Valid Screen Name with the AIM Service (providing your password is 16 characters or less (AIM Limit)
4) a Face Time Name. (re 1) ) (Listed only to stress the point)
A @mac.com name is:-
1) a valid AIM Screen Name (Same password Restrictions)
2) An Apple ID (There was a time when names could be registered after MobileMe was launched, up to about 6 months ago when the Apple ID part was Optional)
3) May be a working email if linked to an MobileMe account at the Mobile Me launch.
An Apple ID can be any other name, most likely an email address that has been used to register in any of the places in 1) in the Mobileme bit.
If an Email was used this way it cannot be linked to a new Apple ID (Such as an @mac.com registration for iChat or Face Time)
There would be some use in Face Time having a Jabber server so that Face Time to iChat could be done.
(It remains to be seen how many would wish to add Jabber as well as having an AIM (Valid) name in iChat.
iChat and Face Time can in fact access the camera at the same time (the only two apps that I know can do this without the Camera in Use message).
There might be a call for Video effects in Fact Time but this may be beyond the processor capabilities of iOS devices.
All in all linking Photo Booth and Face Time would only recreate iChat.

Still Have WiFi Issues

1. Installed 3.0
2. WiFi dies after two weeks
3. Got New phone to fix problem
4. WiFi once again died after two weeks
So what do I do next??

In this case the wifi starts as being intermittent and then unable to connect to ANY wifi routher just like my previous iphone. Previous Iphone eventially ended up with the wifi option in setting as greyed out. Apple store was clueless as to what is causing this widespread wifi issue.

Macbooks are only supported if the're late 2008 Alu or early 2009 or later:
The OP may have an early 2008 Macbook. You have a Macbook Pro, which is different.

You should really read the manual.

Restore. When given the choice, choose to use backup.
"And how can I check to see if the pics and videos are on my computer somewhere first??"
They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.
