Using to nodes RAC1 and RAc2 on VMware winows server 2003,
and oracle 10g r2 EE.
to solve the OUI-25031 " Oracle cluster Configuration assistance fail" I went to cluster home and
C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\crs\install>crssetup.config.bat
Step 1: checking status of CRS cluster
Step 2: creating directories (G:\oracle\product\10.2.0\crs)
Step 3: configuring OCR repository
Clscfg:EXISTING configurations version 3 detected
Successfully accumulated necessary OCR keys.
Using prots:CSS =49895 CRS=,EUMC= and EUMR=
Node(nodenumber): (nodname)(private interconnect name)(host name)
Node1: rac1 rac1-priv rac1
Node2: rac2 rac2-priv rac2
Clscfg: arguments check out successfully
No keys were written. Supply –force parameter to override.
Force is distructive and will destroy any previous cluster configuration.
Oracle Cluster Registry already installed
Step4: configuring safe mode for CRS stack
Step5. Starting up crs stack on all nodes
Rac1 Service OracleCSService in improper PENDING state, error (0)
Rac2 Service OracleCSService in improper PENDING state, error (997)

Hi,
Even i am having the same issue. I have raised 3 SR on oracle certification success kit. I have also tried to call the oracle support team. Sometimes they do take the call, most of the times the calls will go unanswered. Whenver they have taken the call, i get the information that you will receive the certificates.
I don't why the oracle team is not able to send me the certificates. I have checked updated the shipping address in the Pearson Vue. Infact the shipping address i have provided has an Oracle office in the same tech park. I don't know will i ever get the certificate or not, because mostly the oracle support team has been very negligent in replying to the mails.

I have been getting frustrated using the search on these forums. I find the content very useful (especially as I cannot seem to find any other forums for Oracle Portal) but the search facility is very poor.
Firstly, the Search will on search for an exact match in the body of the messages, not the subject at all! This is very annoying as people usually sum-up there question in the subject and often do not repeat the subject in the message.
Secondly, the search looks for exact matches of your search string, so searching for more than one word become difficult. Bascially, it does only an exact match, not a word search, so forget about using keywords to search on as you would do in every other search engine and be very carful of the order of your words, you'll get a completly different set of results by swaping the order of your words... :(
eg. Selecting "ALL FORUMS", try searching for "Customizing Change Password Page". no hits? ok try "Customizing Password" still no hits? ok try "Customizing the Password". still no hits? ok just try "customizing". You get 10 Pages of 20 (Oracle conviently puts them over 10 pages so you cannot view them all on a html page and do your own secondary search using CTRL-F). Well, this is too many, lets just try "Change Password". again 20 x 10+ pages. At least this time we've got some that also have the work customizing in the subject. If only we got here on the first search... Don't even think of adding the word "PDK" or "Example" to your search...
I have already provided feedback to Oracle on this matter (and am still waiting for a reply). If you would also like the search improved, please also send Oracle some feedback and make this forum more useful. If enough people pester them they might think it's important enought to change. link below:

Before attempting OCA/OCP i would suggest reading Tom Kyte's Expert one on one book. It is a 1000 page book. Read it at least once cover to cover. You will be on your own after that.

Should be on technet here somewhere .. OEM 9i is bundled
as part of the 9i for Windows NT download.

Oracle Expert connecting via OMS

Hi,
I have an interesting problem: When I Start Oracle Expert on my win machine (either from the oem console or the start menu item) it welcomes me with a login screen. I choose "Login to the Oracle Management Server", than enter correctly the requested values (user, pass, server) and then I press OK. You can imagine my surprise when I get the following message "Already logged into OMS:<server>", even when I enter a wrong password. This message appears in a message box and your only option is "OK". When you press it you get the login box again. Stupid, eh?
We run Oracle 9iR2 Enterprise on a SPARC with Solaris 9. OMS and OEM repository run on the same machine. Database and listener are running properly, suppose the Intelligent Agent too.
I tried to trace the problem on the server side. On oms startup, the following message was logged:
VXA-3008 : Starting OMS Services, Wait
I didn't find such a message in the OMS Message Reference. Does anyone have a clue?

Thanks! Issue has been resolved.
I suspect things went wrong at the point of uploading the album. After recreating I had to upload it several times because I got strange network connection errors from dotmac. My connection worked fine though.
I created more pages: nine instead of three to isolate if one of the files caused the issue. This wasn't the case.

I have downloaded from oracle site oracle 9i release 2 (9.2.0.4) linux and installed in red hat enterprise as 4. When started oem, I tried to find oracle expert but couldn't find it. Is oracle expert included in this vesion or not? If it isn't, is there any method to install it? Thank you very much.

i was using webdb since rel 2.0.* and i think, it was a great idea! we could visualize data
and give the users the chance to access the data in a very simple way - without programming
in java, c++ or anything else ( ok, pl/sql is needed sometimes. but as long as we are using
oracle databases, we will find someone with pl/sql-knowledge :-), so this is not an
additional requirement).
but what have you done with this wonderful idea?
you have moved webdb to an enterprise-portal, with great functionality and a huge requirement
of resources. no doubt, it is a powerful product, where you can build wonderfull sites
full of surprising elements, every second character bold and blinking . . .
but you forgot the customers, who only need a simple way, to create forms and reports.
by moving portal to such a level, as you have done, you left a gap below this.
please tell me, why should i install and use such a 'mighty' product as 9iAS, when i only
need the functionality, that came with webdb??
some impressions:
- starting with the installation ( download 2 GB! a just released product and i have to download
additional 274 MB of patches, wasting more time with the patch-installation than the rest).
- space-requirements of nearly 5 GB (approx. 12 times as much as webdb 2.2)
- i have to use internet directory, management server, enterprise manager - all products,
that i don't need for the rest of my daily business and that i'm not familiar with
(until now) -> requiring additional time to become familiar with. do you realy think, that the use of all
products in your portfolio makes it easier to handle (as stated in one of the white papers?)?
It seems, that you have lost the ground!
- saving my investments by a migration path? i can forget this - oracle support surrendered and tells
me, that there is something in the installation that prevents me from upgrading.
- the product portal seems to be very 'dynamic': if i don't want to lose support, i have to upgrade
to the next release nearly every three months (one of the most important phrases, heard by support-stuff:
"you have any problem? you should upgrade to the latest release first!")
so, dear oracle,
i hope, you remember those customers, who don't want an overkill. please, fill up the
gap with an applicationserver-light/portal-light and don't forget, that the main scope of your
customers is to fulfil their own customers needs and not to administer oracle-products.

Two possibilities I can think of:
Are you inside a corporate firewall? If so, make sure that you have access to cloud.acrobat.com
If the above is not the problem, can you try to disable Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

Question for ORACLE EXPERTS!!! PERFORMANCE PROBLEM!!!

I have 2 nodes on RAC. On node1 the following query run in 15 seconds and on node2 the same query run in 40 minutes. This is a big problem because we are migrating a SQL Server database to Oracle RAC 10gR2 (10.2.0.2) on HP-UX Itanium and we can´t finish the project because of this performance problem!!! PLEASE HELP ME ORACLE GURUS !!! I have opened a TAR at Metalink a 3 month ago,but they can´t help me with this. Can anyone explain this event to me please??? SQL*Net break/reset to client 1 0.01 0.01There's lots of global cache traffic going on. All those multiblock transfers seem to be saturating the interconnect. Some things to consider:
- Have a look at metalink note 3951017.8 for a possible fix
- Check that your interconnect is properly configured
- Try running the query with PARALLEL hint. This would mean doing disk I/O instead of buffer & interconnect I/O.
