Now i receive a string !but i do not known what encoding this string is? I want a method to judge the encoding.

Strings in Java are by definition in Unicode. If you want to convert them to a specific encoding, you can do this:
String yenSign = new String("\u00A5");
byte[] yenByteArray = yenSign.getBytes("UTF8");
Now yenByteArray is encoded into bytes using UTF-8.

Hi Pratik,
There is no t-code for mass de-release.
The only option is if for the release code used in your PR release strategy, the changeabil indicator is set to 4, then increase the price, the PR release will be reset.

I am very new to LabVIEW (2.5 months) so please forgive me if my lingo is not up to par.
How can I send multiple string commands to a VISA write. For example each string command looks like this
1) 3A00 0000 0000 FFFF FFFF FFFF 0000 0000 FF00 0000 0000 0000 0000 0033 (Scenario 1)
2) 3A01 0000 0000 FFFF FFFF FFFF 0000 0000 FF00 0000 0000 0000 0000 0034 (Scenario 2)
3) 3A01 0000 0000 33FF FFFF FFFF 0000 0000 FF00 0000 0000 0000 0000 0067 (Scenario 3).
and so on and so forth. And there are a number of scenarios.
Each String scenario will give a different string output which will be interpreted differently in the front panel.
Right now I have to manually change the string commands on the front panel to give me the desired output. How can I do this without manually changing the commands i.e. hard coding each scenario into the block diagram?

Actually the reason to use Quantum SCSI tape recorder is to back-up big amount of data (propriety movies footage) both on PC (what is quite easy, using SCSII host adapter with VHDCI 68 connector) and iMac what seems to be not easy. All my search by Google leads to that conclussion, they finished production of SCSI-to-USB or FireWire because somebody stopped to produce chips to covert protocols. So even buying noe second-hand adapter, no guaranty it's still working with Lion (nobody is developing drivers anymore). Strange is, nobody or just a few are using SCSII (Ultra 320) devices (while the transfer is not bad, 320 MBps what is 2560 Mbps, so the only limitation is tape recording (some 80 MBps) not an interface. Using compression mode I can (and I do) record 1,6 TB of footage data. However quite slow, is safe and cheap, comparing with any HD storage solution. USB 2 is much more limited.
I'm using Time Capsule for buck-up. But even 3 TB one day will be full of data, then old back-ups will be eaten by new once, what is not good idea for archives. I'm using another 2TB NAS HD (2x2TB RAID 1), but this is also going to be full soon.
Of course, you are right, the option is another machine (OSX,Win,Linux or Solaris) equipped with SCSII controller. But this requires another machine, just for back-up time to time, and in practice iMac folders must be shared with that small auxiliary machine because amount of data practically excluding even temporary data collection on auxiliary machine. And it must be transfer by wire, not WIFI, my only network. Tape recording is in my case really good, professional solution, isn't it?
Anyway, if somebody has similar requirements as me, and found the solution for SCSI, please let me know. So far, follow Jan's idea, I'm thinking about some embeded mini PC, fanless, equipped with slot for SCSI, with SOME smart system on-board, to deal with iMac for type recording. The option is previous Apple model, but to be honest, I became Mac/OSX user 4 years ago. I fell in love with Mac, but my knowledge about previous models is based on Google....
My desk becomes full of boxes. Do you know how big Quantum TC-L42BX is ? Is very big. And now another box.....another keyboard....another screen... And one small adapter could solve the problem. Eh....

Try this. It is in LV 8.5.
Note the double % in the format string. This is so the % in the input string is treated as a percent rather than a code.
You may also have to work with the line feed characters in case they are different in the string coming in compared to how the string shows up in the web browser.

A string is stored internally in individual characters.
The String class has a method 'charAt(int index)' which returns the character at that index so using a for loop..

How can I wire a string value to the case selector terminal and depending on that value, execute a selected case?

Hi Everyone
In the block diagram of the posted VI, thru serial comm, byte #2 is either 00 or 01 (Hex). This byte should dictate which case to execute. If Hex value = 00 executes case #1, If Hex value = 01 executes case #2. If neither, nothing should execute.
How can I do this? I am fairly new to LabVIEW any feedback is highly appreciated.

My question is how to pass a String by reference in java.
I tried to declare my variable, instead of using "String xxx = "f";", I used "String xxx = new String ("f");" :

String xxx = new String("f");
StatusEnum result2 = getErrorPointStr(xxx);
     public StatusEnum getErrorPointStr(String text)
          StatusEnum testStatus = StatusEnum.PASS;
          StringBuffer buffer = new StringBuffer();
buffer.append("123");
          text = buffer.toString();
          return testStatus;
After calling to getErrorPointStr(String text) function, xxx = "f"
So it does not work.
How can I solve this? It is very important, the function will receive String and not something else.
