Debian Gnu/Linux sarge + jmf + Linguistic tool for multimodal analysis

Hello at all,
I have got the following Problem (I am not a java-coder!):
I have got to run a tool which works with the jmf under a windows system without the problem I have got with it under the Linux system:
I will try to explain:
I have got a window - in the top-left corner there is a window with the video.
In the middle of the common window there is a timeline.
In the bottom half of the common window I can make some tieres. Than I can make sequences over the timeline frome the video (I am so sorry: my english is horrible an I hope you understand :( - maybe a link can help to understand:
http://www.und.nodak.edu/dept/linguistics/textbooks/UsingELAN.pdf
My very big problem:
When I try to make a seqence the video does not run synchron -- it stays static in the stopping modus, so I could not verify to make the right choice.
Could anybody help me?
Which kind of information about my OS do you need to help my?

Sorry for not checking this thread for a couple of days.
Thank you for your answer. Can you please give me some more information?
What exactly do you mean by "set LD_LIBRARY_PATH"?
(1) The message appears when the software is installed as root. before this step OS User oracle is not yet existing. Where / how am I supposed to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH before installation?
(2) After installation there is an $ORACLE_HOME/bin/oracle_env.sh which includes LD_LIBRARY_PATH and sets it (and other enivoment variables) for a shell session of OS user oracle. Will there be any influence to the background processes, esp. the one that crashed? Am I supposed to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH via
$HOME/.profile
using the line
. $ORACLE_HOME/bin/oracle_env.sh
What exactly do you mean by "try again"? Set LD_LIBRARY_PATH and hope the error does not occur again?
Since the error looks non-reproduceable, I can't see any method to check if the problem is solved or not.
Hope these questions make sense to you.
Thank you in advance.

  • Installing Debian GNU/Linux on an iBook

This post is both a query for information and written to introduce people to the information served on the 'Internet Archive', a web server originally at the Presidio in San Francisco, which offers wonderful objects for download. One of its lesser-known features is the 'WaybackMachine': archives of 'every' webpage on the internet after 1995! The following hyperlink illustrates its use.
    http://web.archive.org/web/*sa_/http://people.debian.org/~branden/ibook/
Here it is used to receive instructions on how to install, on my 1993 iBook, combinations of MacOS9, MacOSX 10.2, and Debian GNU/Linux. GNU/Linux offers what MacOSX 10.2 doesn't, except for the easy conversion of DV tape camcorders to DVD (not suitable for a G3 Mac anyway).
'Mactracker' claims my iBook 800 MHz 32 VRAM laptop was made between April and October of 2003. (It also describes the hardware upgrades possible.) Because I use a different computer for burning DVDs, I hope to install Debian GNU/Linux only, which should offer a very fast and flexible OOUI computer.
I've also been given a 15" Aluminum G4 PowerBook (1.67 GHz) and use the appropriate web page for assistance. Here I need to install MacOS9 for my granddaughter's games, MacOSX 10.2 for my wife, and GNU/Linux for me.
Are there other sources people have used to help install GNU/Linux on an iBook? The GNOME desktop is very similar to Mac's Aqua: have people found Debian GNU/Linux a good choice for an iBook operating system? (The system should probably be installed in an ext3 partition, but Debian GNU/Linux reads & writes Apple's HFS+ natively.
    Thanks in advance!

  • What are the tools for GAP Analysis.

What are the tools for GAP Analysis.

    Hi
    GAP Analysis :
A through gap analysis will identify the gaps between how the business operates ad its needs against what the package can can't do. For each gap there will be one of three outcomes which must be recorded and actioned, GAP must be closed and customised software can be developed close the gap, GAP must be closed but software cannot be written therefore a workaround is required, GAP does not need to be closed.
In simple terms: Gap means small cracks. In SAP world. In information technology, gap analysis is the study of the differences between two different information systems or applications( ex; existing system or legacy system with Client and new is SAP), often for the purpose of determining how to get from one state to a new state. A gap is sometimes spoken of as "the space between where we are and where we want to be." Gap analysis is undertaken as a means of bridging that space.
Actual gap analysis is time consuming and it plays vital role in blue print stage.
Please search, there are many threads and many times discussed this topic.

  • GUI Tool for Image Analysis (delimited ascii file)

i've created a Java GUI Tool for Image Analysis. It does length calculation and locate the coordinate of centroid of an image...the problem now is how do i save the results in a delimited ascii file??

Create a FileOutputStream, use that to construct a PrintWriter, then use the PrintWriter as you use System.out. Print out the data, then append the delimiter manually after each set of data.
To get the file, the simplest ways would be to hard code an output file name or at least have a text field so the user can enter it. If you want it to look more professional, use a JFileChooser.
    I hope this helps!

  • Can I install Java Card Development Kit on Debian GNU\linux?

if that can be posible, how can do it?

    Please help,
    I am new to Java.
I want to develop java programs.
I have Linux, (mandarake flavour) installed on my
    computer.
I know that there are diffent linux flavors.
I have to the development kit download at:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/download.html
    the page has downloads for
    Windows (U.S. English only) N/A
    Windows (all languages, including English)
    Linux Red Hat shell script
    Linux GNUZIP Tar shell script
    SolarisTM SPARCTM 32-bit binary

provide installation for Linux)The JDK has been rename J2SE (ie J2SE is the development kit).

  • Debian Gnu/Linux install error

One of our customer does have AIR installed, but gets the following when she double-clicks on our .air file:
    ----------------------------8<-----------------------------
    Failed to open file "YNAB3_Live_3.5.1.1.air".
Failed to execute child process "/usr/bin/Adobe" (No such file or directory).
    ----------------------------8<-----------------------------
Can you offer any insight as to why the association with .air files might be messed up? Any way around it? Does this look familiar? Any advice would be greatly appreciated by me and of course her!

  • Tools for business analysis

    Dear All,
I work as an IT business analyst in the retail domain (IS retail), currently I do not use any tools in my routine day to day work when gathering business requirements except for VISIO for process mapping.
I seek guidance regarding the tools available, its importance to my career and access to learning material or any other details that may be of use.
In short, how can I improve my competency in this field of business analysis?
Looking fwd for replies at the earliest
    Thanks.

    Arun,
Your role as a IT business analyst in the retail domain has a suite of tools and activities to work on to improve the performance of your team, organisation and process.
You are responsible for the business process improvement in your organisation ! In a more quality language, I would rather call it continual improvement.
You should become a Business Proces Expert (BPX) and this role should evolve (has evolved) from Business Analyst and has strong focus on tools, technology and implementation methodology.
Business Analysts used to focus on one application like SAP R/3 before, however today, in SAP NetWeaver, they need to understand many more components, need to implement end-to-end processes that run across multiple systems and between your partners.
There are more tools and that are listed below:
    1) SAP Solution Manager
    2) SAP Exchange Infrastructure ( eg.,Business Process modeling )
    3) Visual Composer (build analytics) MDM (Master Data Management)
    4) ARIS for Netweaver, toolset from IDS Scheer for achieving process orientation
You should assess your technical capabilities and fill in the holes (that more interest you) with some targeted training in NetWeaver, Composite Application Framework or Visual Composer.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers
    Senthil

  • What is the best tools for spectrum analysis

There are many spectrum analysis software component in the of NI product(SMT, advanced signal processing, basic ones).
May I know which is the lastest and best for use.
I am trying to collect data from DAQ 5102 then do FFT. Also, may need select centre frequency  and frequency band etc.
A band pass or low pass filter may also need in the future.

    Hey turbot,
Thanks for contacting National Instruments support.  Each set of the vis you mention are the latest, and some use similar methods to do the FFT than the other.  The SMT is usually the best in most applications.  There is also another option in the case of scope, you can fetch FFT data from the driver.  The FFT is not actually implemented in hardware, but in the driver, and this is transparent to the user.  It's simpler to use, but not as efficient as the SMT.
I hop this answers your questions.  Let me know if I can be of further help.

  • Showing new messages in inbox on GNU/Linux

Thanks to everyone who works on Mozilla Thunderbird. I am running TB 31.1.0 from the Mozilla Build on Debian GNU/Linux 7. I find that when new mail arrives, my inbox list does not scroll to show the messages. I have it sorted by increasing date, so the newest messages arrive at the bottom. The scrollbar changes and I can scroll it manually. I'd really like to see that new mail subject at a quick glance, however. I know I have a message because I get a few pixels of the first new one showing. I used to use TB on Windows all the time and I thought it featured a behavior that would autoscroll to show at least a few of the newest messages. My window is sized so about 14 rows are showing at one time and I have about 175 messages in my inbox. When I have read all mail, I usually leave the list scrolled so the last message is at the bottom. You can see a screenshot over at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1018216?esab=a&s=&r=0&as=s.
    So my questions are:
    1) am I missing some way to enable the behavior I desire?
    2) If not, should I get involved as a developer and try to fix the code to behave the way I would like?
    3) Does TB behave on Windows the way I describe?

summer14, In case you haven't resolved this yet.
polzbert's solustion is excellent, assuming you have a backup drive using Time Machine. However, did you try rebuilding the inbox? If not, here's how:
Select the mail box that's giving you trouble in the left pane of Apple Mail. Then choose "rebuild" iunder the Mailbox Menu Item. This has resolved countless mailbox glitches for me in the past.

  • Where is the GNU/Linux support?

I was looking for BlackBerry GNU/Linux support as part of our initiative to move to GNU/Linux desktops and found that RIM doesn't support it. Interestingly I have found a third party solution that supports BlackBerrys on GNU/Linux. It looks like that may be our temporary solution until we can phase out the BlackBerrys. I can't believe a company as big as RIM doesn't doesn't support GNU/Linux though.

You mean, for the free Reader? Nowhere; there isn't such a thing. Here is a link link for general support: Contact Customer Care, although experience shows that you get better support in these forums. Only remember that they are user to user forums and no fellow user is under the obligation to reply any question, so you must be prepared to be patient at times, as Test Screen Name says.

  • After Valve, will Adobe join into GNU/Linux world?

Hello, I've read this interesting topic:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/487814?start=160&tstart=0
And I've read something about "not enough earnings into GNU/Linux world".
I wonder if now that Valve, one of the major companies about videogames, is stepped into GNU/Linux, will Adobe steps into too.
I think if Valve did a so important thing is because there are earnings. I mean, Valve is not an idiot, they know what they do.
I'm a web developer/web designer and I use Adobe softwares at work, but I must use Windows/Mac for this purpose, and those OS sucks.
I need two PC alongside, one for web developing and one for artistic things (Photoshop and Illustrator) and that's a really painful situation.
I'm sure there are a bunch of other developers like me in the same situation and they would like to have Adobe CS in their GNU/Linux machines.
I know this is an already discussed tread but I'd like to know the situation now that important companies like Valve, NVidia, Ati etc are improving their endeavours for make GNU/Linux a main OS.
    Regards,
    a silly user (:

There you go, now that is a thought for Adobe.
Incorporate all Adobe CC products into a GNU/Linux OS and sell it only as a subscription. No incompatibilities with the OS going forward. Seems like they could charge twice the monthly fee. Something like $99.00 a month would be more than reasonable. And just think on saving to the Adobe shareholders when the programers would not have to be chasing all the OS bugs that they now claim that causes all their bugs.
Adobe may even want to consider offering Adobe CC/GNU/Linux on there own hardware for $750.00 to $1,000.00 a month to avoid any hardware incompatibilities and with a motherboard dongle if they are really serious about stopping piracy.  Just think about that savings in R&D and the hardware could be assembled in China, and a hugh return for the shareholders then. A new Sun Spark workstation here we come.
After all it is all about profits anyhow.

  • How to use EBS R12 Database (10.2.0.2) for report analysis tools?

    Hi All,
My client wants to use reporting tools for bussiness analysis. For this I want to use a separate database which will be replica of production database. Is there any way to achieve this in R12 database(10.2.0.2)?
    Kindly share your experience.
    Regards
    Latif

As Srini states, knowing more about your requirements would help us to help you. :-)
Do you need a daily twice/daily snapshot of your data? If so, then you might be able to implement the solution that Srini mentioned earlier. An added benefit of this method is that it can go beyond the creation of a reporting database: it can also be leveraged in the creation of additional clones for test and dev environments.
Do you need real-time replication of data to your reporting database? If so, then you might want to investigate Oracle Streams/Goldengate (disclaimer: I'm typing on the fly, so I'm not 100% certain that this is supported).
If you're willing to license more Oracle software to solve your problem, you might also consider Oracle Business Intelligence Applications, which has out-of-the-box integration with E-Business Suite for common reporting/business intelligence needs. There are additional costs involved, but you can weigh those against the development costs of "rolling your own" MVs and reports, and maintaining them.
Again, knowing your requirements, constraints, and points of flexibility will go a long way toward figuring out which option best suits you. :)
