hi
Debit Memo - It is a sales document used in complaints processing to request a debit memo for a customer. If the prices calculated for the customer were too low, for example, calculated with the wrong scaled prices, you can create a debit memo request. The debit memo request can be blocked so that it can be checked. When it has been approved, you can remove the block. It is like a standard order. The system uses the debit memo request to create a debit memo.
A debit memo is a transaction that reduces Amounts Payable  to a vendor because, you send damaged goods back to your vendor.
Debit memo request is a sales document used in complaints processing to request a debit memo for a customer.
Creating a credit or debit memo request enables you to create credit or debit memos based on a complaint. For this first create a sales document with the order type for a credit or debit memo  request. You can create the debit  or credit memo requests in the following ways:
u2013 Without reference to an order
u2013 With reference to an existing order
Here you enter which order the complaint refers to.
u2013 With reference to an invoice
Here you enter which invoice the complaint refers to.
In all cases, you specify the value or quantity that should be in the credit or debit memo
You can block the credit or debit memo  request from being billed in Customizing. Go to Sales -> Sales Documents -> Sales document header -> Define sales document type and select the billing block field in the billing section.  This request can later be reviewed along with similar ones, - if necessary, by another department. The request for a credit or debit memo  can then be approved or rejected.
To create  Credit / Debit Memo request:
- Use the same procedure that you use for Creating Sales Orders i.d  T Code  VA01
- Give Order Type  as CR for Credit Memo  and DR for Debit Memo reuest

  • BAPI to park Debit Note (Vendor credit memo) Doc Type: 'KG'

    Hi All,
A friend of mine desperately needs to know any BAPI for parking Debit Note (Doc.type : KG Vendor credit memo)... Please let me know if you know about any BAPI / Funcation module to do it and a little chunk of sample code will surely help me a lot....
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,

    Hi Savitha,
Well, we have experiemented with this BAPI "BAPI_INCOMINGINVOICE_PARK" earlier, but we found out that it dose not work properly for Service Orders; also it dose not seem to post proper debit note. Anyways, we have used another BAPI "BAPI_ACC_GL_POSTING_POST", it worked but it posts the debit note (Vendor Credit Memo) but we only want to park the debit note and let the user review it and then the user can post it manually or so afterwards...

  • Debit and credit memo request

    hi,
1 may i know why need to create request in va01 prior to debit or credit memo in vf01?
2 if without request, what would happen?
    thanks

    Hi,
In the Standard Business Process, Once the Orders are invoiced and the amounts are released to the accounts, then we need to consult them before doing any adjustments. Only the authorized Finance Teams are allowed to issue the Credit / Debit memos.
The Finance team / or some manager would review this Credit/Debit Memo request and then release the document ( After making any necessary adjustments) .
If we dont create the request then we will not be able to create the credit memo from the SD side. i.e., thorough  VF01.
    Thanks.

  • Credit and Debit notes in reference to Repairing invoice or Repair request

    Hi Experts!
I create a Sales order ("RA") for repairing. My flow is complete and also billing documents are generated.
The fixed price defined in the Repair request is copied into the invoice, and can not be modified (we block the change).
If the price is lower or upper than the real costs. It would like to create a credit or a debit note in reference to the billing document.
Is it a standard way to work because SAP blocks it in Standard.
Or there is no link between a billing document and a credit memo?
I have an alternative, to use "Purchase order N°" with Sales order, but this field is a free text.
    Thanks for your help.
    Stéphane

Who/what is "it" in "it would like to create"? What does SAP "block"? What exactly is an issue?

  • Intercompany Billing Credit & Debit Note

    Dear All,
I have configured intercompany billing. Now i can able to create invoice for Supplying part to Ordering Party. This invoice creation without sales order na. So, if i want to create credit & Debite memo for supplying party to Ordering party how to create. Because here we are creating invoice wioth out sales order and creating with reference of delivery note. In this process sales order creation belongs to ordering party to customer. So where we can maintain Credit & Debit note for Supplying party to ordering party. I think when we create invoice can we maintain billing type as credit note? please suggest me to maintain Cr. & Dr Memo In Intercompany billing between Supplying company to Ordering company.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Anj

    Hithere,
For intercompany stock transfer if you want to implement credit & debit memo in intercompany you need to reference credit & debit memo requests CR & DR or the returns order with delivery NL. You will define them in the sales area of the supplying plant. Then you maintain the copy controls from RE to G2 / D2 or CR / DR to G2 / D2.
For intercompany sales, the customer returns the goods to the ordering plant. Not the supplying plant. Coz customer doesnot know from where the ordering plant brought the goods from. So in that case customer to ordering plant is standard returns process. Returns between the ordering & supplying plant is again like mentioned above.

  • Automatic creation of debit or credit memo

    Hi All,
I have a requirement of automatic creation of credit note with reference to sales order when i click save at transaction VF01 after generating billing document against delivery number.
I used the include ZXVVFU08  it is triggered when the save button is pressed in VF01. i have wriiten BDC code in this include. At the point when i click save, the billing number is getting generated but credit memo is not getting generate. It is giving an error 'No billing documents were generated'
How do i ensure that the invoice number is already saved before the BDC starts?
    Need help. Thank you!

    Dear seetharamsapsd ,
Create a new document type for both credit memo and debit memo requests.
Copy control to the respective credit memo and debit memo should be there.
Pricing procedure should contain provision to map the difference amount.
Create  a Z program recording a BDC for the creation of Debit and credit memo request.
It is better to keep have only one Z program.
In the program write a logic to check the price change comparing the values of previous month created orders and
    this months condition record values.
Based on whether there is increase or decrease , system should run the respective BDC for the debit or credit memo request.
This program can be set in background maybe at midnight.
Also save VF04 as a background job (so that the debit / credit memos as also created automatically)
Set this VF04 background job to run after say 1 or 2 hours from the time our Z program is running.
I hope you know the different tables/fields from where you can get the desired condition to run the program.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Hegal K Charles

  • Debit Note/Credit Note Issue help!

    Dear all Gurus,
I am a bit confused with the last few steps of the return to vendor process.
    Here is the process.
    1) Return PO is created.
    2) Delivery Order created
    3) PGI
    4) Enter Credit Memo at MIRO
Is the above process above correct?
For the last step, if vendor requires debit note printout in order to send us the credit note(credit memo).
    - How can i setup the printing of such printout?
    - Which message type should I be using?
    - What is the process in this case then?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Zhulk

    hi!
You have to go for message determination process for the suitable document type ( for ex.RE ) of LIV. Check it out in OLMR > Message determination process. Maintain condition records in MRM1.
    Reward if useful.

But how to map article wise without quantity vendor debite note . Or give me advice for vendor article wise debite note through MM
    Regards
    Purushottam

    Hi Piyush,
1.Created the PO say for 10 qty.
2.Done  the GR  say for 5 qty.
3.Do the Invoice for 10 qty.
4.Now qualityDept has rejected 5 qty & want  to send to the respective vendor.
5.Now you can create the Credit Memo for  5 qty and send to the vendor.(not Debit Memo).

  • Use of cost relevant Item categories L2N and G2N for debit and credit memo

    Dear Forum memebers,
For  credit and debit memo  one of the customised client repot is showing  cost value which is not expected for credit and debit memo in the invoice register.
This is due to use of L2N and G2N which are cost relevant item categories.
Why should debit and credit memo item category should be cost relevant.??
    Best Regards,
    Kanwal

Well if your company do not want to adjust the cost of goods sold when any credit / debit is raised, then yes you can go ahead.
    Thanks

    regards
    anand

    Hi Anand,
You can refer this to your customer: http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/debit-note.html
The debit note or credit note is from different point of view.
AP credit memo is from the point that you are a customer of the vendor.
    Thanks,
