Debug_messages=yes runtime parameter in forms 11g

Has anyone managed to run a form in 11g with the debug_messages=yes parameter turned on successfully?
I've tried setting it in the developer preferences and in the url to no avail.
If anyone has managed to get it working please share the details.
Thanks in advance,
Ady

And the answer is...
Ensure the debug_messages “other parameter” is in you formsweb.cfg as in the following
# These settings support running and debugging a form from the Builder:
otherparams=obr=%obr% record=%record% debug_messages=%debug_messages% tracegroup=%tracegroup% log=%log% term=%term% ssoProxyConnect=%ssoProxyConnect%

  • Oracle Reports In Oracle Forms 11g Parameter problem.

    Hello techies,
                I am using Weblogic server 10.3.5 with oracle forms 11g at windows 7.I have a report that is Bar_code.rdf.It has two parameters as:
    P_1---->character type---->accepts the options(barcode generated or barcode not generated)
    P_2---->Number type------->accepts the subgroupitemId.
    This report is well working with oracle report builder. Now I tried to run it from my oracle forms.It runs but it does not accept Parameter P_2. I have used
    sParms := 'P_1='||:L_BAR||' P_2='||TO_NUMBER(:TXT_ITM_GRP);
    set_report_object_property(roRepid,report_other,sParms||' paramform=yes');
    set_report_object_property(roRepid,REPORT_SERVER,sReportServer);
      v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(roRepid);
    sJob := SUBSTR(v_rep,LENGTH(sReportServer)+2);   --
    But there is a parameter form is shown but when i click submmit query the,,,,there is

    Hi
    are there character symbol appeared in your parameter ?
    i've suffering for some unexpected error for parameter value end up with slash , like D:\temp\   ....
    and oracle sr (support) says that with workaround mechanism (add additional slash like D:\temp\\ ) they have not plan to fix this issue .
    hope this helpful for you.

    ADD_PARAMETER(pl_id,'PARAMFORM',TEXT_PARAMETER,'NO');

  • Reports-Runtime Parameter Form

    hi!
    I made a report which contains quite a lot of data; so I
    also created a user parameter for the runtime parameter form, so
    the user can select one value so that the amount of data is
    minimized; the user parameter is based on a select statement;
    now my question: the way it is now the user can only make one
    selection, how can he see all records and is not forced to select
    a single value?

    Hi Michaela,
    I Understood that you have created user parameter based on
    select statement which will display list of values in List item
    in the Runtime Parameter form. User can select any one value
    from the list & display the records for selected value in the
    parameter form. But your question looks like user should have
    facility to select all the value in the list from the runtime
    parameter form.
    Example : Display list of deptno in the Runtime parameter form.
    If user selects any one deptno, display employee
    details for the selected deptno. Also user should
    have option of selecting records for all the dept.
    1. Create user parameter P_DEPTNO based on following select
    statement.
    Select deptno from dept
    Union
    Select 'ALL' from Dual
    2. Create the Query for the report as
    Select *
    from Emp
    Where deptno = Decode(:P_DEPTNO, 'ALL', deptno, :P_DEPTNO)
    So user will have option of specifying condition to
    select all the records for all the deptno as well as user
    can specify particular deptno.
    I hope this may help you to solve your problem. Pls let me
    know whether this helps you or not.

  • Reports-Runtime Parameter Form; another question

    hi!
    I would like to implement 2 user parameters in the runtime
    parameter form which depend on each other: with the first one you
    can select a special ressort and depending on the selection you
    made here you can select some keyword groups with the second one;
    but I don't know how the select statement for the second user
    parameter should look like, because it is not allowed to use
    'Bindevariablen' (sorry, don't know what they are called in
    english; this are the ones with the : in front of them):
    here is what I tried to do:
    parameter: P_1
    select rs_id, rs_name from tb_ressort union select 99999, 'alle
    Ressorts' from dual order by 1
    parameter: P_2
    select kwg_id, kwg_group from tb_keyword_group union select
    99999, 'ALL' from dual
    and here I wanted to add a where clause: where rs_id = :P_1
    but this doesn't work
    Any other ideas?

    Hi Michaela,
    I think this will generally not work in reports parameter form;
    the parameter values are available first when the report is
    started, and the first point to reference them is in the
    after-parameter-form trigger. I think you get the message
    from the report builder 'REP-0781: Bind variables not allowed in
    the Select statement'.
    The only idea I have is to write a parameter form with Forms,
    with two LOV's attached to two items wich CAN reference each
    other. Then use add_parameter and run_product to start your
    report. This seems to be more complicated then using only
    Reports, but it isn't and it works.

  • Customizing Runtime Parameter Form

    Hi
    I'm using Portal Release2. Here is my problem I want the customize the Runtime Parameter Form but I can't seem to do it. A simple test case is needed:
    1) I've created a report definition file access through portal and successfully run the report.
    2) I've copied the run link which is something like -
    PORTAL_DEMO.TEST_REPORT.show_tabpage
    3) I've created a dynamic link such as -
    http://abc.def.com:7778/pls/portal/PORTAL_DEMO.TEST_REPORT.show_tabpage
    4) when a user clicks that link the page shown is a default Oracle Report Portlet parameter form even though I've changed the parameter form template.
    could someone provide a solution to this issue. By the way I've been reading an old version of portal and you can do it in release1 but no reference is available in release2.
    see section 5.14.1 Deploying a Report to an Oracle Portal Content Area

    Hi George
    After you register a RDF component, at the end of registration wizard, you need to go to Customize link and check out the fields you wish to display in Parameter form. After this, you need to click on Save Paramater button, which would save your changes.
    Now you can put this RDf component to the content area /page and publish the link to this content area / page to users and they would be able to see your customize param form.

  • Forms 11g OLE2 - Excel printing behind parameter Form.

    When running excel report in Forms 11g, the excel opens behind the parameter form instead of taking over the screen thereby making the worksheet partially invinsible until the form is minimized. This is not the case with 10g Forms. Is this caused by webutil? is there a command that can send the form behind the workbook once excel open command is invoked? Your help will be appreciated. Thanks

    If you were using OLE2 before and not an OLE canvas object, the code will basically be the same. There may be some changes needed if you originally wrote the code to support old Office versions, but that is due to changes on the MS side and has nothing to do with Oracle or Forms. There are several examples which can be found in MyOracleSupport (MOS) notes, but here is one example available on OTN. Although the example is for MS Word, the basic concept will be the same.

  • Calling Report from Menu (Oracle Forms 11g)

    I'm trying to call a report from a menu item in a menu (that is attached to a form) in Oracle Forms 11g directly and I'm having some difficulty. I know how to call a report from a form and everything works perfectly.
    But since in a menu there is no item called "Report" to attach like there is in Forms, I followed on route which is to attach the "rp2rro" PL/SQL library on the menu file (mmb) and I also even did it on the form itself. Then when you convert a menu using the Forms Migration Assistant, it will comment out statements like "ADD_PARAMETER" and replace with calls to packaged procedures/functions from the package "rp2rro". I set all the parameters
    RP2RRO.SETOTHERS('PARAMFORM=YES');
    RP2RRO.SETDESTYPE('CACHE');
    RP2RRO.SETDESFORMAT('PDF');
    RP2RRO.SETCOMMUNICATIONMODE(SYNCHRONOUS);
    then made the call to the report:
    RP2RRO.RUN_PRODUCT(REPORTS, 'MYREPORT', SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM, param_list_id, NULL);
    but all i get is the error "FRM-41219: Cannot find report: invalid ID."
    The Oracle documentation for integration reports in forms is for when you execute the report within a form not a menu item (that is attached to a form). Any clues?
    My environment is:
    Oracle (Database, Fusion Middleware) 11g - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
    Web Browser - Internet Explorer 7 on Windows XP Professional
    Thanks,

    Hello,
    One option is to use the Web.Show_Document() built-in, with the complete Report Server URL inside. Of course, you can hide some information (connection string for instance) by calling a section of the /reports/conf/cgicmd.dat configuration file.
    FrancoisI tried it using the code below

    c_relative_path CONSTANT VARCHAR2(50) := '/reports/rwservlet/?server=';
    c_rep_srv_name CONSTANT VARCHAR2(50) := 'rep_wls_reports_calgf3_asinst_1';

    v_connect_string VARCHAR2(300);
    v_rep_srv_params VARCHAR2(200);
    v_rep_url VARCHAR2(400);
    BEGIN
    v_username := LOWER(get_application_property(username));
    v_password := LOWER(get_application_property(password));
    v_db_instance := LOWER(get_application_property(connect_string));
    v_connect_string := v_username || '/' || v_password || '@' || v_db_instance;
    v_rep_srv_params := '&report=' || c_rep_name ||
    '&desformat=' || c_desformat ||
    '&destype=' || c_destype ||
    '&userid=' || v_connect_string ||
    '&paramform=yes';
    v_rep_url := c_relative_path || c_rep_srv_name || v_rep_srv_params;
    web.show_document(v_rep_url, '_blank');
    END;
    and I get a new tab in the browser opening up (which is good at least) with the Oracle Reports Services page saying:
    Error
    No such Web command ().
    Now I've tried putting a URL of a Oracle's website (http://www.oracle.com) and that works perfectly. Another question is, where would the default directory be if I wanted to say call an HTML file? Would it be in the directory of FORMS_PATH where all my fmb, fmx, rdf, pll, etc...files are stored?
    Thanks,

    Hi
    Thanks for your response
    I am just want to see how can a form looks using the javascript.
    and I want to use javascript in our Forms application to enhance them.
    If I can understand that demo it may be easy for me to implement the JS in our application.
    That error says that some wrong expression passed to the web.javascript_eval_expr
    js.html is placed here C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\config\FormsComponent\forms\server
    Left out files and directories are placed here C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\middleware_int\servers\WLS_FORMS\tmp\_WL_user\formsapp_11.1.1\e18uoi\war
    updated my .cfg and .env file as required.
    Is it problem with configuring the JS files and directory or Problem with javascript code????

  • Error 404 -- NOT FOUND when running a form in form 11g

    Hi All,
    I got this problem when I run the forms using internet explorer.
    I work on Forms 11g which uses weblogic 10.3 for web deployment of the forms.
    Error 404--Not Found
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.5 404 Not Found
    The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
    If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
    Can any one tell me where it went wrong.
    Thanks

    Let's start by clearing up some confusion.
    PORTS
    In version 11.1.1.x here are how the common ports are defined by default:
    1. HTTP Server - 8888
    2. WLS_FORMS - 9001
    3. WLS_REPORTS - 9002
    4. WLS Admin Server - 7001
    So, if you understand how ports work in general, you should see that there are two ways to run a form. You can either go through HTTP Server or call WLS_FORMS directly. This means that both of the following would work, although one would be a direct path and the other would route the request through the HTTP Server:
    <li>http://ie1fdtfc5zl1s:9001/forms/frmservlet?config=frmdemo
    <li>http://ie1fdtfc5zl1s:8888/forms/frmservlet?config=frmdemo
    Port 7001, will always be the Admin Server port by default for the Classic domain. By default, the only thing you can do from here is access EM or WLS Console.
    As for the tns issue, by default, both the Builder and runtime will expect to find tnsnames.ora in the Instance Home \config so be sure you are adding the correct entries to the correct file.
    You can hard code a path to the file which you prefer be used by setting TNS_ADMIN in default.env (e.g. TNS_ADMIN=C:\Oracle\mytnsdirectory). This will apply only to running forms and not the Builder.
    Also, here is something which often is confusing to many people.... just because you launched your form from the Builder does not mean that the running form has anything to do with the Builder at that point. In other words, when you click on the RunForm button in the builder all you are doing is passing a url to a browser. The browser and the form are not using any of the Builder's settings except those which may have been passed in the URL (e.g. username/password). ALL running forms are considered "runtime". This means all of the environment configuration information for a running form will need to be set in default.env. The Builder, on the other hand will rely on the System variable, Windows Registry (or shell if on Unix).

    AFAIK, this is not the correct way to set the image location.
    We call the working directory as context, so inside the context root along with WEB-INF, maintain a folder with name img and put all the images in that directory.
    You can use either .\<image_folder> or the optimum way would be (if you are using JSPs) to use getContext() method and traverse accordingly.
    FYI,,, using getContext() will give you context root directory, from there it is as simple as accessing any other folder.
    Hope this answers your question.
    Cheers,
