Debug & release versions of flash player?

i installed flex 3.0 on my XPSP2 system, and worked through
some examples. all was well, but when i try to use internet
explorer, all sites that require flash 9 now complain it's not
installed on my system. i am assuming a query is sent from ie7
asking which version of flash is present on my system, and the
debug version of flash returns a token indicating something other
than flash 9 installed. i looked at flex and ie7 options, but
couldn't find anything that would enable me to run both debug and
release versions of the player. is there some way for the debug and
release version of flash to live on the same system, and to keep
them separate?

It is recommended to install both to ensure that Flash will work in as many browsers/third party apps as possible.  Apps like skype, microsoft office, adobe reader that use Flash Player may require the active X flash player.  Most browsers use the normal plugin.

  • When will the version 11 release in "Archived Flash Player versions" website

    Dear Adobe:
I wonder know when will the version 11 release in "Archived Flash Player versions" website: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html
The newest version in this website is 10.3.183.10, as shown below:
I want to integrate the verion 11 with my project, but I cann't find it.
And I don't need the debug versions like "Flash Player 11.0 ActiveX control content debugger (for IE)". I need the released version.
Is there anyone who can help me? Thank you!

I'm not clear what you meant by integrating FP11 to your project. What specifically are you looking for?
To get the latest Release version of Flash Player 11, you can go the this site for the browser that you want to update: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
If you are a Flash Developer you might want to grab debugger build from here: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
    Hope this helps

  • How soon Adobe releases Debugger version of Flash Player

    Hello,
Does Adobe have any policy/trend to release debugger version of Flash Player along with the regular release versions?
    -Govardhan

as far as I know they are released pretty much at the same time.

  • I have  a newer version of flash player installed then what is listed as the most recent version??

    Hello,
I am checking the version i have installed of flash player via the adobe version check option at the site and i have version 11.8.800.94 and when i check the list of the latest versions of Adobe, i see 11.7.700.169 listed as being the latest vversion. How can i have a version installed that's above that? I haven't installed a beta version, never signed up for beta testing and all i did was install the latest version of flash player via the website.
I am wondering what this is cause recently when viewing videos on youtube, my videos tend to hang up or end halfway through and think the video ended when it's not. My guess now is that i have sumhow obtained a version of flash player that's not correct and thus why the videos go haywire now. Re-installing flash player sets it back to the 11.8 version again, so that didn't work.
Any information any1 might have that can solve this is much appreciated.

11.8.800.94 is the latest version for Windows and Mac. 11.8.800.115 is the latest beta version. http://helpx.adobe.com/en/flash-player/release-note/fp_118_air_38_release_notes.html

  • I've "successfully" installed the latest version of Flash Player. How do I find where it "lives" so that I'm certain it's in there. Also, do I put the App icon in the trash now? (I am on a Mac) Thank you!

I've "successfully" installed the latest version of Flash Player, as recommended by Firefox. How do I find where it "lives" so that I'm certain it's in there. Also, do I put the App icon that appears on my desktop, in the trash now? I am on a Mac and I am not technically inclined.
    Thank you!

Your list of plugins shows that you have installed Flash 10.2 r152 which is the current release version.
You can also confirm that Flash is installed by visiting this link - http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about

  • How do I revert to a previous version of Flash Player?

While we always recommend using the latest version of Flash Player, sometimes problems are encountered in a new release that were not present in a previous release.  If you are unable to work around these problems and they block functionality you rely on, rolling back to a previous version might be required until an update is made available.  This FAQ will walk you through the steps required for reverting back to a previous version of Flash Player.
Please note that Google Chrome provides it's own version of Flash Player.  For more details on this, along with instructions for using a version other than the default with Chrome, please see: Flash Player with Google Chrome.

    1. Follow the steps in the "How do I do a clean install of Flash Player" FAQ, but stop at the end before installing the most recent version
    2. Install the latest Flash Player ESR release.
The Flash Player ESR release provides a player with all known security patches applied.
If downloading from the Flash Player archives, please note that you will be downloading a .zip file that will contain installers for all operating systems.
Unzip the archive and navigate into the appropriate folder (you can safely ignore the folder that ends with "_debug").
Run the appropriate installer for your operating system and browser.
If installing for Internet Explorer, run the installer with "winax" in the file name.
For Windows, running the executable that ends with .exe is recommended.
When presented with the dialog that allows you to select your update method, select "Notify me to install updates".

Hey Chris, thanks for all the keeping up with us and stuff.  I have an issue and i'm not sure if this was already discussed (if so sorry). Windows 8 IE 10 I'm getting an error tying to downgrade my customers to the beta.  The message i'm getting is
    The installation encountered errors:
Your Microsoft Explorer browser includes the latest version on the Adobe Flash Player built-in. Windows Update will inform you when new versions of Flash Player are available.
I have done my research and I cannot find how to fix this issue.  I have ran the uninstaller multiple times and restarted blah blah all the goodies.  It will not let me install the beta.
Please help..... any idea how to get beta running on hundreds of my customers machines?
The beta work's great it seems like and I wouldn't mind installing the beta on all their machines till the final release (which seems like a few weeks away)
    Thanks again, Tim

  • What versions of Flash Player Still Receive Security Fixes?

    Greetings,
I'm seeking a page that lists the supported vs. unsupported versions of Flash Player. That is, what versions are still eligible to recieve security fixes (regardless of OS).
    Thanks!
    Edit update:
To be more clear and reword things: I'd like to find the annoucement pages for each unsupported version of Flash Player, that is, links to office Adobe content showing when certain versions entered an unsupported state.
    Thanks again!

As far as I know, we don't have an official page that lists when a version stops receiving security fixes.  I suspect we'll do a blog post when this occurs and I'll also update in our announcement forum which you can find here:
Is there a way to be automatically notified when a new Flash Runtime release is made?
The announcement forum also lets you know when security udpates are made, and where to find both the 11.x and 10.3 updates.

  • Current versions of Flash Player won't work on my Windows 7 machine

When I install a late version of Flash Player it won't play videos.  Here's what I get on YouTube https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6246962/0002.png .   I then have to go back to a previous version.  When running the previous version Firefox nags me constantly about needing to update.  This has been going on for a year or so.   I run Firefox on Windows 7.  The latest version that works is 11.1.102.55
Of course the question is how do I make a current version of Flash Player work?

I'm sorry you're running into this.  This looks like a YouTube specific error, so you might be able to find out additional info on their forums.  Here's a few things I'd try to start:
    1. Update to our latest version, released today: 11.5
    2. Update your video drivers (feel free to post your system's dxdiag report if you run into problems with this) - Windows: how do I update the device driver for my video/display adapter?
    3. Try disabling hardware acceleration in Flash Player - How do I disable or enable hardware acceleration?
    4. Pause the video and try changing the resolutions to see if that makes a difference
    5. Clear you browser cache (or at least the Flash Player cache and settings, note that this will reset hardware acceleration back to the default - How do I clear my Flash Player cache and settings? )
    6. Try clicking the popout or fullscreen buttons in the YouTube player.  Does that help?

  • Unable to download previous version of Flash Player?

I am unable to view flash videos on some websites and able to on others.  I have found many possible solutions on here and other websites but have not yet been able to fix the problem.  I have decided to try and revert back to the previous version of flash player and see if that would work.  I have followed and completed Chris Campbells post for cleanly uninstalling flash player:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4487439#4487439
My problem however is that when I try and download a previous version from the archive page it never downloads.  It just keeps saying 'Loading...' forever.  How do I download the previous version?

Can you try downloading the latest 10.3 release from these links?
Flash Player 10.3 for Internet Explorer
Flash Player 10.3 for other browsers

  • How do I install a previous version of Flash Player

I need to restore a prior version of Flash Player. I found the web site that has the archived versions of Flash Player but I don't know what to do after I download the archive.

    Windows 7 64 bit
    IE 8.0.7600.16385
I downloaded archive FTP10.1_archive. It appears that the archive I downloaded may have two releases in it:
    10_1r82_76
    10_1r53_64
Since I don't know what version I had before the problems started, I want to work my way backwards through the archives until I find one that works with the video I am having an issue with, so I am starting with 10_1r82_76. If that doesn't work, I want to uninstall and try 10_1r53_64. If that doesn't work I want to download and install the version(s) labeled Flash Player 10. If that doesn't work, the version(s) labeled Flash Player 9.0.280 and higher, etc.

  • Need older version of Flash Player for my eMac?

  • Their is a newer version of Flash Player already installed

Flash Player automatically updates.  Today I tried to use Facebook to upload some photos.  Facebook gave me a warning that said I needed the latest update to Flash Player.  I went to the Adobe website to try to update the Adobe Flash Player.  When I try to run the installer, it gets as far as "Installing" and then stops saying Note: Newer version already installed.  The Troubleshooting page on the Flash Player support site says I have Flash Player 14.0.0.101 and the newest version is 13.0.0.  I have not manually installed or updated anything, except for trying to install the update after receiving the original error messages.

This means you have a beta version of Flash Player installed.  Uninstall it with http://labsdownload.adobe.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/flashplayer/flashplayer14_uninstall_m ac.dmg
then download and install the release version http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_playe r_13_osx.dmg

  • Newest Version of Flash Player Issues With Firefox 12.0

Firefox just updated today to its newest version 12.0. After updating, every website was running slow or freezing. I eventually discovered that the culprit was the Adobe Flash Player Plugin. Disabling the plugin returned things to normal. I would like to still use the flash plug in, but have not found a way to enable it without all websites freezing. I am using a Windows 7 64-bit operating system. I have tired uninstalling and reinstalling the flash player and I have double checked that I am using the newest version of Flash Player. I have cleared the Flash Player cache, tried disabling the hardware acceleration option, and restarted my computer inbetween several times. I am offically at a loss for what to do? Please help me.

In your  opinion, should I uninstall Firefox if I am installing Waterfox?
Waterfox can coexist peacefully with Waterfox.  I have both installed, but never use Firefox any more.
Not only can Waterfox run in 64-bit address space, it also is better optimized during compile time than Firefox.  (For obvious reasons; Firefox is compatible with many old systems, Waterfox only needs to be compatible with new 64-bit systems.)
P.S. regarding Chris' advice above; Firefox and Waterfox use the same profile, so if that is actually the problem, then it will occur in both browsers.

I am using an Mac PPC version 10.5.8 and I am trying to download the correct version of Flash Player.  I did once but I had to install a "Clean Install" of my computer and when finished I had put back the new Flash Player I just installed well every time I try install the new player it is place in my Trash Folder and I can not get Player to work.  I did everything I was to install it correctly but it still does not install it correctly.  Can some help me.  Bob

Some MacBook Pro versions cannot be upgraded past 10.6.8; others are maxed out at 10.7.5. newer models can go all the way to 10.10. So it is important to know exactly what version you have--there may be close to 40 variants produced since the MB made its debut in 2006.
You can safely give us a snapshot of your model and its current config that will allow us to deternmmine your model and its upgrade potential, plus show it you have any software that may impede any upgrades. Please download and install this free utility:
