For Debugging SAP Scripts & Smartforms as follows
SAP Script:
YOu Can debug a SAP Script by activating debugger in two ways 1.In SE71->Menu->Utilities->Activate Debugger, then debugger will be get activated and when your print program is executing Script Debugger will be in active and you can proceed with your debugging.
2. Goto se38-> RSTXDBUG ->Execute this same as going thru in se71-> Menu, now debugger will be activated.
Smartform:I am afraid , we dont have any direct commands or direct procedure to debug a script. But in indirect ways we can do it.
1.Put a command line before where you want check the value of smartform and write the code "BREAK-POINT"->hardcoded debugging.
2.You can debug the function module which generates the smartform.

Debugging SAP Scripts MR_PRINT and MR_REKL

Hi All,
Can anybody tell me if there is an easy way to debug the SAP Script Layoutsets MR_PRINT and MR_REKL, which are triggered through MRKO and MIRO transactions. Also I need to know how to repeat the print out of the above layouts, which are outputs of Invoice reductions and Invoice corrections.
I already tried SE71 -> Utilities -> Activate Debugger and also placing a break-point in one of the performs, I call, but I think the print program is a dynamic call and it is not stopping at the break-points.
Let me know what I am missing.

Sorry, if it sounds dumb. But how will you put a hard breakpoint in a SAP Script? I don't hink there is a BREAK-POINT command which can be used in SAP Script? I activated the sap script debugger and am running the MRKO transaction which triggers the layoutset, but it is not stopping as it does stop for any other layouset.
The other way I tried was, to put in BREAK-POINT command in one of the performs the SAP script calls and I was able to stop at that only when I debug in Update debugging mode. This only allows me to debug the perform code but it still does not allow me to debug the script as we debug the script for PO (Purchase Order) by activating the SAP Script debugger and print previewing the PO.

Debugging Sap Script

HI all,
I am working on a SAP Script...this custom SAP SCRIPT is being used for transaction F110...every time we are running this transaction we are missing some data in the checks that are printing and this problem is coming after we applied the Service PAck, now my question is how can I debug ths Sap Script because when activated the debugger in SAP Script and ran transaction F110 and when finally printed the checks it never went or stopped at the SAP Script...the checks are printing fine in the other box where we haven't applied the SP. So basically I want to compare in both the boxes.

Programs executes in printout in F110 . u can see those programs in Printout/DataMedium Tab in F110 . identify the program u r using for print out and execute it after activating the debugger in sap script .

Yes we can debug scripts n smartforms.

SMARTFORMS DEBUGGING
For smartforms debugging you can do this.
1. Execute the smartform (execute button in SMARTFORMS transaction)
2. Take the generated function module and display it in SE80.
3.Find the smartforms Elements (text elements, windows, code lines, loops) in this and set Soft break points.
Correct name is SMARTFORM_TRACE. You have lots of options for adequate analysis

SCRIPTS DEBUGGING
There are 2 separate kinds of debugging available when you try to debug scripts.
1. Debugging the print program : This is the normal debugging we do for our report programs.
2. Debugging the script itself : You Can debug a SAP Script by activating debugger in two ways:
a .In SE71->Menu->Utilities->Activate Debugger, then debugger will be get activated and when your print program is executing Script Debugger will be in active and you can proceed with your debugging.

Variable in SAP SCRIPT

Hi Guys,
I want to print a variable Value from Print Program to SAP SCRIPT, I tried to print it in between && but they still dont have any value while debugging SAP SCRIPT and not also in print out....Suggest somthing.

Hi,
Debug your program and c whether you are getting your value there. If yoes, check if you have used the function module OPEN_FORM and passed the correct name of the SAP script. Then check if you have used Write_Form and are you passing the correct Text Element Name.
You would not have used one of them. Hence the problem.
Check and revert back.

In the form Utilities->debugger / RSTXDBUG FM for debugging script
The Procedure for debugging SAP script is:
Generally SAP script contains the Layout and corresponding print program.
First go to SE71 and enter ur script name. In the same screen go to Utilities->click on activate debugger option.
Now go to SE 38 and enter ur Print Program name and execute the program.
Now you can debug the script Page wise and window wise.

There is a transaction 'SMARTFORMSTRACE' (or was it 'SMARTFORMS_TRACE') which will give you quite helpful information.

Scripts:
1. In the form, Utilities->debugger / RSTXDBUG FM for debugging script
2. Generally SAP script contains the Layout and corresponding print program.

Now go to SE 38 and enter ur Print Program name and execute the program.
Now you can debug the script Page wise and window wise.
Smartforms:
In the Smartform, create a Code Node and within the Code Node you can hardcode a normal abap Break Point.
Insert a "Program Line" just above the node you want to debug and this program line write a normal abap breakpoint. So whenever you call the smartforms, it will stop at this breakpoint and you can debug onwards.
Other way to debug smartform is to debug the Function Module of that smartforms.
You can also use smartform trace (transaction SFTRACE).

SAP Script debug

Hi,
I designed SAP script. I used standard SAP program. Now I am getting problem.
The problem is the script is working fine for TW10 plant location,
but the same script is not working for TW90 plant location. I want to debug the script.
Is it possible. Give me any advice.

Hi Meghna,
Open SE38 give prog name RSTXDBUG and execute. By thuis Sapscripr form debugger will be activated. Then you execute your code and it will stop when the control comes to sapscript.

Hi,
They are two ways to debug the SAPScript.
1). Use Tools - Word Processing - Layout Set (SE71). Enter
name of layout set and then Utilities - Activate Debugger.
It is of no consequence which layoutset you enter when
selecting the SAPscript debugger. (Menu path:
Tools-Wordprocessing - Forms, Utilities - Activate Debugger)
The next layoutset called will invoke the debugger.
2). Another way to set the SAPScript debugger is to run
program RSTXDBUG.
When you debug Print program it is same as you debug any
other ABAP program. While when you debug SAPScript, you
actually debug the code ( scripting) you have written
SAPScript Form.
DEBUG Smartform:
One way to debug smartform is to debug the Function Module of
that smartforms. If you want to debug particular smartform
node that the solution would be, insert a "Program Line" just
above the node you want to debug and this program line write
a normal abap breakpoint. So whenever you call the
smartforms, it will stop at this breakpoint and you can debug
onwards.
another way is SFTRACE can be used for debugging SMARTFORMS

How 2 debug a Perform subroutine in sap script

I have a perform endperform in Script. But tht is not working in some case. i m trying to debug but i m not able to go inside the routine and see wht it is doing? . can any one help me how to debug a subroutine in sap script.

Hi Panigrahi,
1) Put a break point in your perform.
2) YOu should change the dispatch option in your Output screen of the transaction which triggers your sap script. The dispatch option should be 1 (Send with a periodically scheduled job).
Then save your transaction.
3) Go to se38 and run the program RSNAST00.
Give the Object Key as the Document Number for which you are triggering the script output.
The control will stop in your perform.

1- In SAP Scripts the MAIN window is procesed very first all over the SAP Script?
2- To debug the script, after activating the debugger in Script, Shall I go & debug the Print prog step by step or just run the Transaction, e.g.

Hi Srinivas,
The order in which the windows are triggered is determined by the print program.
The print program will call the WRITE_FORM function modules which will trigger the windiw that is passed to it.
You can see the example print program:
RSTXEXP1
The fm WRITE_FORM is called multiple times, and different windows get triggered as and when the control comes to the Function module.
And regarding your second question, in general you cannot run the print programs as stand alone(most cases) as the would not have and executable code outside the form-endform .So, to test the script, you must run the transaction after your activate the script debugging.

Missing fields in the output while using SAP SCRIPT

Hi,
I am working on an issue where we are using F110 to print some checks, and for this we have created a custom sap script and we are using a std driver program RFFOUS_C, we have also maintianed a custom subroutine pool ZRFFOUS which will retrieve the missing data for the sap script which was not there in the std. program. Now we have applied a SP to our system and since then we are having a problem...when we are printing the chechks its missing some fields.
Surpisingly, it is happening for all scripts like Dunning, invoice......
These scripts are working good in production which is not applied patches.
I have tried in all ways, did debug, data is there in tables and scripts are exactly same as in production.
Could you please share any ideas regarding this? What would be the effect of patches?

I think u r printing the Check through the Tr Code F110.
In that program u r using the Standard Driver Program RFFOUS_C and u create a New Sap script.
and also u also mantained the custom subroutine pool ZRFFOUS . when ru giving printing u are not able to print some field.
In this case when u using the Standard driver Program RFFOUS_C in that program there is a Include Progran * RFFORI01---- check ,
in this program it is calling the Standard Form (F110PRENUM_CHCK) i--e t042e-zforn .as shown in the below and it is calling the function module 'OPEN_FORM'._
Please copy the form asZF110_PRENUM_CHCK and and do the changes in that form . and we need to maintained the Form as Company code level -- and it will shown this Table T042E (Company Code-Specific Specifications for Payment Methods)
Please go to Transaction Code FBZP and U can maitained the New Sap Script Form Company Code Level.
one thing while u calling your new subroutine pool ZRFFOUS Please call this subroutine in your Sap Script form then only u can see all values in your Check. and Actvate the Sap script .
Like U can call your new subroutine ZRFFOUS in your New Sap script Program.

Not Printing Item Schedule line items in SAP Script

But here every thing is fine but i am not getting schedule line items and item text in items data for every item

Pls Check in the Line item Ur using the syntax properly or not..In SAP if it ios syntax error it won show..Pls chk the syntax properly ...POr try to debug the script and see whether item text is coming or not.
If it is not coming check me23n whether tat PO has item text or not..if it is there Problem is in ur Include text.
