Debugging in Flash runs week old file and code

It seems Flash is caching files somewhere and not properly
cleaning up. I'll be working just fine for a day, and then suddenly
I run debug and see a build from a week ago. I clear ASO files to
no avail. I restart Flash...nope. I can debug and it'll hit my
breakpoints and STILL run code that is gone, and skip new
code...it's like phantom has taken over.
I have to reboot to get this cleared up. I'm running a clean
install of Leopard, Flash CS3 and all the latest updates.
Does anyone know anything about this issue?
Where does Flash/AIR cache debug builds in OS X?
Any help is much appreciated.
Dave

I figured out WHAT was happening, but not WHY.
When I mounted my MacBook Pro which shared the exact same
"Project/" directory structure as new my Mac Pro, the Adobe
debugger would launch files OLD files from the MacBook Pro. ACK! I
stumbled upon this when rebooting this morning and mounting my
drive. Unmounted, everything runs as expected. Mounted I get weeks
old files.
Why on earth would Flash pull from a different machine like
that? Is this a Flash issue or a Leopard issue? Who do I need to
file a bug report with?

I just bought a 2013 late model Mac Book Pro Retina and am wondering if it is worth installing windows through boot camp.
If I install the windows component in order to run an exe file and its component "Declans Korean Flash Cards"... will it make my mac suseptible to viruses overall due to having a windows component? also will it make my mac slower as well

If you are only going to use one or two window only programs then I wouldn't waste the space.  Try WinonX it allows you to install exe. Files on Mac without installing windows.

Do I need to do something to have it continue to update my old file instead of recreating a new one?

Depending on what version of OSX you're running, and how the data was transferred, you may be out of luck.
If you're running Lion, and your backups were made to a directly-connected external HD (ie, not a Time Capsule or other network location), you may be able to get Time Machine to "associate" the new disk with the old backups.  See #B6 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting, especially the pink box there.
If you're running Snow Leopard, you might be able to do a full system restore of your backups to the new HD.  See Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #14 for detailed instructions.  That should leave a "trail" that Time Machine can follow to "associate" the new drive with the old backups.  Unfortunately, that doesn't always work, and there's no way to do it manually, as there is with Lion.

No, it won't revert to the prior OS X but you you may have third party apps installed that were compatible with Lion that may not be compatible with Mountain Lion.

  • I want to start a new movie but iMovie is hung looking for an old file and says:"Without this file, the movie cannot play properly."

    Hello!
I recently upgraded to Lion. Every time I start up iMovie, it asks if I want to go ahead and generate thumbnails. I say OK, then it alerts me that it cannot file the file IMG_0073.MOV. Then it says "Without this file, the movie cannot play properly." It gives me the option to either cancel or search for the movie.
I don't have the old file it's looking for. I simply want to start a fresh movie with new material but cannot get past this hump. Based on the little research I have done, some people experienced this problem because the files were in aperture at some point, which was the case for me before when I used iMovie. I have since moved forward only with iPhoto but perhaps it's hung on an old file format?
I tried taking another old movie and renamed it IMG_0073.mov to see if I could simply select it, give it what it wants and move on but it won't let me select the file for some reason. I also tried removing iMovie and downloading a fresh version but that didn't work either. My BF tried removing pfiles (I think that's what it's called? but again no luck)
Please help! I must get this assignment done for a class!

  • I got a new macbook air and took my old macs back up and put it on the new macs desktop.  How do I put my old files and apps to have this new computer look like my old one?

    Help!  Please!  Thanks so much!!!!!

Well, I don't know how you made the backup nor how you restored the backup. However, you don't put an entire backup on to the Desktop.
I suggest you do the following:
Open Users & Groups preferences. Click ont the lock icon and authenticate with the admin password you are currently using. Click on the Add [-] button and create a new account named "temp" (no quotes) and give the account admin status. Assign any password you want (but assign a password.)
Log out of the account you are using and log into the new, temp, account. Open Users & Groups preferences, click on the lock icon. Authenticate with the password you used for "temp." Select the other user account (not the one named Guest) and click on the Delete [-] button. Select the third removal option and click on the OK button.
Connect your backup drive. Open Migration Assistant in the Utilities folder. Select the option to migrate from another Mac or connected hard drive or select the option to restore from a Time Machine backup if TM was used to back up your old computer. Restore your old Home folder, third-party applications and support files, and system preferences per instructions in Migration Assistant.
After the migration has completed (will take several hours) log out of "temp" and log into your newly migrated account. Open Users & Groups preferences. Click on the lock icon and authenticate with your normal account's password. Select the "temp" account, click on the Delete [-] button. Select the third option and click on the OK button.
You should now have just one user account. The one migrated from your old computer.

  • Run a jar-File and modify a file within this jar-File

I am running the jar-File, which contains my compiled java files etc.
The program has a config part, which is saved in xml file.
This xml file is in the same directory like the class files.
All theses files are zipped as jar-File.
Well, I am running the jar file.
    - But how do I open and save the xml file ?
    - Is that possible ?
    - How difficult ist that ?

I tried to do this some time ago and found out the hard way that you can't, just as DrClap just told you. I would have taken his work for it anyway, but for what it's worth, I thought I'd mention that you're not alone. In my case I wanted to be cute and keep my properties all together within the .jar; thought it'd be cleaner that way. Ended up just creating the more typical class_name-props file in my home directory. Is this what you had in mind?

Is it under warranty? If so try an Apple Store.
Also I have a micro USB cable that simply will not let me restore via iTunes whereas another one works fine.  All cables are not equal!  The cable works fine with the portable drive it cam with - I assume the connector doesn;t fit quite right and the other cable does.

  • Aperture using 3 week old file paths for referenced files after Rebuild

I recently had major problems with some Nikon D60 files (the referenced files switched original files). I had to re-import everything a start again. Having sorted everything out, I then relocated the files with new files names (thinking that the original file names may have caused the problems).
This was 3 weeks ago. However, when I Rebuilt the library today, these renamed images went offline because Aperture has kept the original file paths (with the original names).
Does anyone know how to update file paths to the current ones? (rather than some random previous one).

Thanks for the reply. I will check out the links.
I should have mentioned that all renaming/moving of files was done from within Aperture. Aperture is not updating its own file paths.
The process is this. Having moved/renamed the images (using Aperture's Relocate Masters) I am able to use the software, close it down, restart etc and the images will be found correctly with few/no 'lost' images. It is when I use 'Rebuild' that the file paths revert to an old, previously used version that is no longer valid. It is as though there are two preference files, each with a different file path information. There was a post sometime ago that mentioned using Terminal commands to force Aperture to update to the correct files paths/directories. I haven't been able to find the post yet though.
These particular files (Nikon D60) are not from my own camera so I am not sure why I have had such an issue. Normally I am using a Canon 5D MK2 or a Phaseone digital back. However, even with my own equipment I do regularly have to 'Reconnect' one or two image files that have become lost which is annoying. So I am keen to get to the bottom of this issue.

  • MDT Application - Running a batch file and copy file locally without absolute path??

I have an application defined in MDT along with its respective files. One of these files is an install and needs to be run locally. How do I copy this file locally then have it run? I've used a fair amount of batch scripts so I opted for that, but every
batch script I get (even empty ones or one with just an exit) returns code 1. If I enter in cmd /c directly in the command line with the commands separated by && it would not work either.
I DO not want to hardcode any IP into this which is why this is so hard. Is there no way to do this easily without a full \\IPADDY\Share?

You could make a self extracting EXE with WinZip, and then do something like..  (You would create an application with source files to do this, with the below code being your 'install.bat')
    @echo off
    xcopy "AppFiles.exe" %WINDIR%\Temp
    %WINDIR%\Temp\AppFiles.exe
    %WINDIR%\Temp\AppFiles\Install.exe
    RMDIR /S /Q %WINDIR%\Temp\AppFiles
If you monitor the install and your satisfied its working correctly, you can modify the success return codes under the 'Option' tab, or just check the box 'Continue on Error' to keep the build rolling after this install is complete.  Additionally, you
may find this works better as VBS script.

  • 1 week old ipad2 and screen has cracked. What can I do.

Had an ipad2 for 1 week and my nephew has dropped it and cracked the screen in several places. Whats the best solution?

Apple doesn't have a menu of repair services for iOS devices. Your options are as provided.
You can pay around £100 for a new screen only via a 3rd party and void the warranty, or you can pay £200 for an exchange.
If a 3rd party charges around £100 to replace the screen only, Apple is not fixing the old for next to nothing, which may involve more than just replacing the screen when all is said and done. Your damaged iPad will be refurbished and likely used for an exchange under Apple's out of warranty or not covered under the warranty "repair" price.
And so what if you have never reported a problem with any of your several other Apple devices? What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? Apple should give you a new iPad at no cost since the other Apple devices you have purchased have not required being exchanged under warranty and you have never reported a problem?
Make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby. You may get lucky.
