Decimal in routing unit of measure conversion

Hi SAPper,
I have an error from SAP when creating routing.
Actual my routing consist of several operations
Header Routing for finish good UoM = BOX
10 Spray Drying UoM KG
20 Press UoM BOX
30 Firing UoM BOX
40 Packing UoM BOX
the problem is we must enter the conversion between UoM in operation to UoM in header routing
100 BOX equal  3,275.59 KG
or
1 BOX requal  32.76 KG
But:
1. in routing operation UoM conversion doesn;t support decimal
2. the space is too small for long numeric
how can i dea with this issue.
Kindly help
Beest regards,
Freddy Ha

Hi!
Actually you will have to define the conversion as 100 BOX = 3276 KG. This is applicable wherever we define an alternative UOM and give unit conversion factor, may it be additional data of material master or alternative unit for work center capacity. This is because it is designed like that. The UOM is stored in table as numerator and denominator without decimals. If you want you can get it modified from developer but that is not suggestible.

  • Routing unit of measure conversion

    Dear guru ,
I have a different unit of measure for one operation of my routing.
Which is the problem if I maintain relation 1 to 1 in the routing unit of measure conversion ?
    Thanks.

    Dear  ,
One operation of my routing have a different unit of measure (EA for operation , KG for routing).
I don't know the exact conversion factor between operation and routing.
This factor is only known after the confermation of the production order.
Which problem occurs if i maintain relation 1 to 1 (numerator and denominator) in the routing unit of measure conversion.
    Thanks.

  • Routing - decimal places for unit of measure conversion quantity

    Hello all,
in the change routing screen in SAP (CA02), when going to a operation detail screen, a unit of measure conversation value can be defined. A value for header and operation can be made.
Currently we cannot set any decimal values for operations, I get the error message: "decimal places are not permitted."
Where in customizing can I change that?
    Thanks
    Anne

    Hello,
    thanks for the answers.
    The UoM is LB.
I've already checked CUNI, but I can not find LB..?
Also I've noticed other places in SAP, for example the base quantity of some operations in the routing have a numbers with 3 decimal places and the same UoM LB, so this looks like the UoM is setup fine, maybe there are just problems with this special screen?
    Thanks
    Anne

  • Decimal in Unit of Measure conversion

    Hi Gurus,
I want to enter decimals in Unit of Measure conversion. System is giving the error that "Decimal not permitted". Actually the scenario is we have a material with KG as a base unit of measure. The ordering unit is "L" litre and the conversion factor is:
    1 Litre = 0.792 KG
But when I am going to enter the conversion the system is not allowing to enter decimal. What I need to do in the configuration to enable the decimal entry.
Earliest response will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

if 792 kg equal to 1000 ltr,
then 1 kg equals to 1,263 ltr.
when do you see this "conversion" to 12,62 litres? in ME21N after you entered 1 KG?
if yes, then your order unit is probably set to liter, further check if you have a rounding profile in material master or info record, that causes the switch from 1,26 to 12,62

  • Automatically pick material master unit of measure conversion to routing

I maintain finish goods conversion factor in material master u201CAdditional Data: Unit of measureu201D as M to KG and basic unit of measure for finish good in material master is in KG.
I attached multiple operations for the finish goods material in routing.
Some operations base unit of measure is M and others its KG.
I want to pick material master unit of measure conversion automatically when Iu2019m creating routing for the finish good material in ca01. (Unit of measure conversion for header and operation of the operation)
Can anyone letme know the SAP configuration for this.

    Hi!,
Please expalin about the purpose of this requirement, because when you will create a order using that routing, at that time system will definately do the unit conversion automatically.

  • Unit of measure conversion for CIN is not relevant for pricing

During creation of Ad item type order, when we enter the planned ad size e.g. A CO (Columns) x B IN (Inches), the system is showing a message "Unit of measure conversion for CIN is not relevant for pricing" and pricing is not determined in the Billing Data Set. However if the planned ad size is maintained as A CO (Columns) x B MM (Millimeters), there is no impact to pricing conditions.
Any light how to fix this issue?
    Thanks,
    Suseela. V

    Dear Suseela,
You need to maintain Unit of conversion using transaction code JH51. You have to follow the path Logistics-Advertising Management-Master Data-Conditions-Order/Billing Document-UM for Pricing.
Here you can maintain combination using Booking Unit, Content Component, Design type and assign Unit of Measure to get relevant pricing into billing set conditions.
    Hope it will help. Thanks!

  • Error in units of measurement conversion  "BOM"

    hello gurus gudmorning everybody
i have problem in  project regarding the units   of  measurement conversion BOM
this is the scenario: 1000 ft2(  BASE UNIT MEASUREMENT)  = 1ea (    SALES UNIT) ( 2bed room flat) it is a higher level item
sub items are in EA  base unit measurement ex: like  one sofa one air conditioner etc instead of taking sale unit measurement of higher level item , its taking base unit mesurement of higher level item , .i.e instead of taking 1EA  2bhk = 1AC, 1 SOFA,   but is calculating 1000ft2( 2bhk)   = 1000ac, 1000sofa , plz help out to rectify the conversion
    thank you in  advance
    venkat

    Dear Venkat,
    Try with this
Please maintain the alternative unit of measure in sub itemes master data at Additional tab like this
    in AC master data 1EA = 1AC and 1AC = 1EA 2BHK
    in Sofa master data 1EA = 1 Sofa and 1Sofa = 1EA 2BHK
    Now you try
I hope this will help you,

  • Unit of Measure Conversions.

Hi All, I have Unit of Measure Conversion requirement in my reports, I would like to create a variable and user has an option to choose the Target UoM.
For this I have referred RSUOM T-Code and got an option to create Target UoM Variable (Specifying Target UoM using a variable) but here my proble is, have to do conversion across dimensions as below.
Unit of Measure conversions that I have across dimensions (all conversions both ways):
    tonne to kilotonne
    1000 GJoule to Million GJoule
    kilotonne to Million tonne
    tonne to Million tonne
    kilogram to tonne
    tonne to barrel
    kg to liter (spill)
    tonne to gallon
Could anyone tell me, is it possible to do conversion Across dimensions? (i.e Mass to Volume), if itu2019s possible where we need to maintain the conversion values.
I am not able to see any table which holds the values of Unit of Measure, I saw T006 but could not able tofind any info.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Kalyan,
To convert from kg to litres you need material specific information like relative density .
It can not be done with common values in UOM-conversions.
e.g. the relative density for lead (11.35 kg/ litre) is different from the relative density for water (1 kg/litre)
1 tonne = 1000 kgs for every material.

  • Upto 4 decimal point for unit of measure

    hi,
We have requirement to maintain upto 4 decimal point in PO and sales order quantity for unit of measure M3. Example PO quanity 0.3902 m3, sales order quantity 2.3212 m3,   SAP allow upto 3 decimal point, how to handle this 4 decimal point for unit of measure and any impact to do so ?
    best rgds,

    Dear Eric,
To change decimal places of Materials follow this:
IMG - SAP NetWeaver - General Settings - Check Units of Measurement
select Units of Measurement & select required Unit of Measure & set decimal places.
    Hope this helps...

  • Component material costing (Unit of Measure conversion) is not working at S

    Hi,
Unit of Measure conversion factor (Value) is not working for component materials at Sales order level costing, but the same conversion factor is working fine at Standard cost estimation level.
    Example:
Conversion Factor for Raw materials (Procurement in Tones, Consumption in Each)
    1 Ton (Rs.1000) = 10 Each (per Each u2013 Rs.100)
For Manufacturing of 1 pc FG is required 1 each Raw material
Issue: At sales Order level - Raw material costing is calculated at u201CTonu201D price u2013 Rs.1000 instead of u201CEachu201D price u2013 Rs.100.
    Regards
    Nagesh

    Hi,
Pricing (unit conversion) is done different for MM and SD process.
MM has decided to use the old process which determines the values out of T006. There you have the conversion factors which are used in PO. If you create a sales order or billing document the determination will be different as the material master will be read.

  • Unit of measure conversion during backflushing

    Dear All,
The BUOM for one component in our industry is in KG whereas in Bom it is defined in G(grams) due to very low consumption qty & I have maintained conversion in material master additional data tab already but on backflushing the system is putting this item in COGI such as .350g(which becomes .00035KG in base unit because as per std only 3 decimal places are allowed in BOM ) so the error text qty in stock keeping unit is zero in COGI is generating & the system is not posting this qty in consumption pls. help to resolve this because i can not change my base unit from KG to G.
    Regards
    Rakesh Sehgal

    Hi Sehgal,
As the KG and Grams belong to same Unit, you need not maintain the alternate unit of measure in Material Master, additional tab screen.
Only thing which is required to maintain is In Basic View maintain the BUOM as "KG" anh in Work scheduling view maintain the Issue Unit as "G". and Also in BOM you maintain the UOM as "G".
    Your issue will be resolved.
Do the above and check and let us know

  • DECIMAL PLACE UN UNIT OF MEASURE

    Dear Friends
is ther any way to maintain decimal place during alternate  unit of measure.  FOr Ex 1  bar = 23.34 Kg. without rounding 100 bar = 2334 kg. i already maintained decimal in CUNI. still not able to maintain decimal.
    Thanks and Regards
    Madhavan

Yes you should be able to maintain this. Ensure that you allow decimals for the UOM Kg in CUNI it should allow this conversion you are referring to. You should put decimal places for both display and conversion.

  • Decimal places in unit of measure in Sales order

    Hi,
In the Sales Order application in PCUI, when I create a create an order for customer XYZ, and add product ABC for qty 1 which uses unit of measure PC, the qty is displayed with 3 decimals as 1,000 whereas if I use the unit of measure EA the quantity is displayed without the 3 decimals as 1. I need the unit of measure PC to not have the decimal places like in SAPGUI.
Could anyone help me understand how this can be achieved?
Thank you for help in advance.
    Regards,
    Priya

    To elaborate better.
Again, use Tcode CUNI - Unit of measurement : Initial Screen.
At initial screen, choose TIME from the list (where by default AAAADL- no dimensions is there).
And click on UNIT OF MEASUREMENT button.
In that you will find MON - Month.
There go for details by selecting MON or select MON and press F5 from Key board.
For MON unit maintain following parameter as per your requirement:
-Number of decimal places for number display
Use - This parameter determines the number of decimal places with which this measurement unit is displayed.
-Base ten exponent for floating-point display
Use - This exponent determines how the values for this measurement unit are formatted as floating point numbers.
Examples - If the exponent is 3, the floating point numbers have the format xxx.xxxxE3.
And deselect commercial meas. unit in application parameters section.
I would suggest instead of changing standard settings of MON, you create ZMON in TIME dimension.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Changing number of decimal places for Unit of Measure

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to convert a quantity in one unit of measure to another (custom) unit of measure.
The issue is that the custom unit of measure has 4 decimal places (customer requirement). I found function module MD_CONVERT_MATERIAL_UNIT which does the trick for regular, 3 decimal places, UoM's. It won't output 4 decimal places since the output data type is EKPO-MENGE, which has 3 decimal places.
Does anyone have experience with trying to convert material's UoMs into 4 or more decimal places?
    Thanks!
