Decimal place is not permitted in activity level

Hi Experts,
We have built a project structure with 100+wbs and 600 activities as per business requirement but we need to introduce Decimal value in POC Weight age in activity level, system is throwing error as Decimal place is not permitted, and we need system should allow to enter Decimal value while confirming also.
These are my observations:
The domain of the field EVGEW ( POC Weight) decimal is zero
Note 172410 - Percentages of completion with decimal places (which is old notes)
Please provide inputs to come out from this issue.

Hi Guru,
As far as i feel, there should be some logical reason as to why the system is not allowing decimal places for the POC weightage. If nothing helps, i would suggest you to raise this with SAP and seek their guidance.

Gokul

  • Decimal places are not permitted for asset useful life

    Dear SAP experts,
I need to post a new net book value on a new depreciation area 50 for fixed assets. The new deprecation for depreciation area 50 will start in July 2011 on all existing (also fully depreciated or to be disposed) assets with a different useful life unlike the book deprecation for depreciation area 01. The depreciation method for depreciation area 50 is straight line.
I have a requirement to assign the new useful life for the depreciation area 50 which may contain decimals, for example 5.5 years. Basically, I need to depreciate the asset for the remaining 6 months of 2011 and the entire 2012 to 2016.
SAP does not allow decimals on asset useful life (Decimal places are not permitted, Message no. 00011).
Have you come accross a similar situation? How can that be managed via depreciation methods and keys?
    Please advise.
    Thank you in advance,
    Inna

    Hi Inna,
You can define your useful life of 5.5 years for the depreciation area 50 as follows:
    Useful life : 5
    period : 6
here, useful life(5) represents 5 years and period(6) as 6 months which gives you 5.5 years starting depreciation from Depreciation calculation start date.

  • Decimal Places are not Permitted for Chile Country

    Hi All,
In OVA8 settings for Chile country at the field max.doc value, i am not able to use the decimals. getting error message as Decimlas are not permitted (Message no - 00011). checked OY04 - there is no decimals for Chile currency. checked - OY01 Dec.Pt. format as 1.234.567,89
For Argentina, Peru and Uruguay same settings has been done and i am able to save the decimal points in OVA8 at the field max.doc value.
Please let me know if there is any specifis settings for Chile or SAP NOTE
    Thanks,
    Mahesh

    HI,
    just looking at a brand-new ECC60 / EhP4 system where nobody changed OY04 settings.
I can find CLP (Chilean Peso) in the list with ' ' decimal places, so thats why there are no decimal places allowed.
Check again OY04, if you find an entry for CLP and NOTHING is maintained it means that ZERO dec. places are allowed.
If you find an entry in OY04 with a number of decimal places >0 than this decimal places are allowed.
If there is NO entry for a given currency then its used with 2 decimal places (SAP standard).
So OY04 is only for the currencies that should be treated different as SAP standard.
    Best regards, Christian

  • Decimal places are not displayed in smartforms

    Hi,
Iam having a quantity field which has length 13 and decimals 3. While debugging it has the value has decimal places but while displaying it does not have the decimal places. Only the whole number is displayed. Can anyone help how to rectify this one.Thanks...
    Thanks,
    Rose.

    Hi,
The format of a quatity field will be based on the associated unit of measure.  Each unit of measure will have a number of decimal places (as defined in table T006 field DECAN) defined to match how the quantity is typically recorded (e.g. ST or 'each' has no decimal places as you could never have half and each).

  • Decimal places in alternative unit of measure

    Dear Gurus,
we have a material having two units of measure. Kg and meter.
we have to define base unit as meter and alternative as kg.
    1 m = 5.236 kg.
But when i define this in alrenative UOM system gives error
    "Decimal places are not permitted"
I know I can do it by multiplying by 1000 but I want to know whether we can use decimal places in alternative UOM
I have already defined in CUNI display tab decimal places =3
    please help.
    Thanks

    S.J.,
Wether you use the unit as main unit or additional unit, it doesn't make difference if you have maintained the required settings in CUNI, which you say alreadt done.
Check out other setings like if you have used user exit etc.
Also test the same unit some where else to have the exact idea.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Routing - decimal places for unit of measure conversion quantity

    Hello all,
in the change routing screen in SAP (CA02), when going to a operation detail screen, a unit of measure conversation value can be defined. A value for header and operation can be made.
Currently we cannot set any decimal values for operations, I get the error message: "decimal places are not permitted."
Where in customizing can I change that?
    Thanks
    Anne

    Hello,
    thanks for the answers.
    The UoM is LB.
I've already checked CUNI, but I can not find LB..?
Also I've noticed other places in SAP, for example the base quantity of some operations in the routing have a numbers with 3 decimal places and the same UoM LB, so this looks like the UoM is setup fine, maybe there are just problems with this special screen?
    Thanks

  • Decimal place problems

    Dear Gurus,
    Greetings.
The issue is 2 days back I noticed that all my values in the Orders are appearing with one decimal place where as we have maintained in 2 decimal places. Like, we maintained 1234.56 but now it is appearing as 12345.6
When we enter a value in VK11 as 1234.56, it is getting populated a s1234.56 in the Order, but all the other values automatically populated are coming in single decimal place.
In IMG under Currencies / Set Decimal Places for Currencies, if I change the setting to 3 decimal places (since 2 decimal places is not available), my values are showing as 123.456.
But when we check at Table level, it is displaying in 2 decimal palces like 1234.56. That means at the Table level, values are almost always correct but at Transaction display time they are not coming in the correct way.
    How to correct this?
    Regards.

  • Increase decimal places in the PO quantity and Price

    Hi All,
Can the decimal places in the PO( ME21N) creation be increased more than 3 decimal places in quantity and price?
I did changes in UOM's in CUNI, I increased the decimal places upto 14 but still it does not take more than three i-e., 0.001 maximum.
Is there any other way to handle this?
    Request inputs on this.
Note 569326 - ME9F: Customized decimal places are not taken into account........ found this OSS but this correction instruction is not for our pack level ECC 6.0
    Best regards,
    Sridhar

    hi
In case if you are already working in production remember that decimal places should not change. It will affect all previous data.
For your problem best solution is make order unit as 1000. So that your problem will solve
e.g. instead of 2.009 inr for 1 Unit use 2009 inr for 1000 unit.

  • Changing of decimal places from 2 to 6 digits

    Hi,
Currently, our PO price and GR/GI quantities are being limited to two (2) decimal places only. However, we want to maintain it into six (6) digits so that we can have a more accurate PO price and GR/GI quantities in our record.
We tried to do this in Tcode OY04 but the system issued as the following warning messages:
    1. In a productive system, you must not delete the currencies in use or change the decimal places. This could make amounts in document already posted incorrect or invalid.
    2. In the R/3 System tables currency fields are stored as decimal figures with a variable number of decimal places. The decimal point is not stored in the field in the database. Instead, each currency field refers to a currency key field. In this transaction you assign the number of decimal places to this currency key uniquely.
Can you please explain to me the warning messages further?
    Thank you.

    Hi Jack,
Please never try to change the decimal places in PRD system, you will be in deep deep trouble.
Let me give one example , If the current decimal is set to 2 digit and you are going to change it 3 digit, then  USD 100.00 will become  USD 10.000 for the already posted document.
Please not that, the decimal places are not sotred in the database, when you run a tcode to see any posted data the system queries the currency table and see the value for the decimals, if it finds 3 in OY04, it simply places the decial point afer 3 digit from right, if the decimal is set to 4m it will simple place the decimal point after 4 digit from right.
    Hope this clears your doubt.
    Best Regards

  • Getting an error in CIF Inbound queue:"Only 0 decimal places are permitted for unit of measure PC"

    Hi,
I am getting an error in CIF Inbound queue (function: CIF_ORDER_INBOUND_30A). The error text says "Only 0 decimal places are permitted for unit of measure PC".
Can anyone point out the solution to resolve this error? It would be a big help for me as I am new to APO and so getting difficult to find a clue for it.
    Thanks.
    Regards
    Mansi

    Hi Mansi,
Please check the cif queue you will get the order number from that order number you can find out material code. Then check the material master unit of measure in MM03 you have used some alternative unit of measure and system is unable to convert order to  alternative unit of measure because of decimal setting. If you go to CUNI and check the unit if measure PC it is not permitted for decimal places. If you need decimal than change the UoMof Material and use diff UoM or allow the decimal for PC which is not good practice.
