Decimal Places in purchasing

Is it possible to maintain price with more than 2 decimal places in purchasing documents (contarcts/PO)?
Thanks!
Alok

If you want to maintain 4 decimal places in price field
of Po then you can define decimal places at currency key level. For example for curreny USD if you want to maintain the 4 decimal places then kindly maintain the decimal value as 4 in table TCURX for currecy key USD.the field is CURRDEC.You can also maintain this table via customizing SPRO->General Settings->Currencies->Set decimal places for currencies.
This should helps you.

Sunitha.

  • Decimal Places in Purchasing (multiple currencies)

Is it possible to change the price field to accept more than 2 decimal places in purchasing documents (contracts/PO) in a live production system for multiple currencies ?

    Hi Raja,
No, if the said currencies already have transactions since, in SAP  the values are stored without decimals. This the warning of SAP
<b></b>In a productive system, you must not delete the currencies in use or change the decimal places. This could make amounts in documents already posted incorrect or invalid.<b></b>.
But you can denote in another way viz.
    1 Kg of material X = 0.012 / Kg
can be denoted as 100 kgs = 1.2

  • Decimal places in Purchase orders

    Hello,
currently, when typing in the unit price in a purchase order, we can only use 2 decimal places. We need to be able to use 4 decimal places for materials such as paper, which we buy at 0,028 € (example). Can this be modified through customizing? Currently we can play around with this price and the quantity to be able to get the correct price, but this is a hassle.
    Thanks in advance
    Daniel

    Hi
You can maintain the price in unit for 1000 pcs.
Example: 28$ per 1000 pcs. This you can maintain in master data itself.Either in material or Info record etc.

  • Purchase Order three decimal places

    Dear Experts
I want to change purchase order decimal places to three. Standard sap setting allow two decimal places.
My client want to create some raw material purchase orders in three decimal places. Also vendor bill is received in three decimals. But Purchase order doesn't allow three decimals, and if the same purchase order is created with two decimal places it causes huge amount difference. By this reason many purchase orders are pending. In transaction Code OY04 we can change the decimal places for currency directly. If there is any other setting to allow three decimals for mm transactions only. We have one month real time data on our production system, is it correct to change the decimal places at this stage.

OY04 it is a oneway decision, extending yes, but removing not anymore possible then. Search OSS for more infos.
If you allow more decimals, then this has not only effect on purchase orders, it will certainly effect your FI books as well.
SAP predefines the currencies in its natural design.
If a currency like dollars has smaller units like cent, then the SAP currency will show that. eg. for USD 2 decimals.
If you need more detailed prices with more than 2 decimals, then you should use the price unit which is usually next to the price fields.
instead of 1,0025 dollar you just enter 100,25 dollar per 100, this has the same effect. and this is available in material master and any condition, hence in PO and SA.

  • Decimal Places for Pricing conditions in Purchase info record

    Hi guys:
In the material master, Moving average price/std price  2 decimal places, purchase info records -pricing conditions we have option of 2 decimal places.
Is there any we can increase the number of decimal places .?
    Thanks
    sweth

    Hi,
you can either have high prices or high accuracy, but not both together (because field length stays fixed).
Don't think about a modification - to much changes would be necessary. I never have seen a situation, where you needed more than about 6 significant digits (= not '0'): high prices don't have decimals.
So you usually change a factor: Maintain prices for higher or smaller units to get into the correct range. Or you might use different currencies in different situations. You can also maintain prices per 100 or 1000 units (in case of cheap products).
If nothing else is possible, you might use two conditions: one without decimals, second one only decimals, the sum of both can be a very precise high price.
Better to use the option price unit if you want exact value in place.

  • Difference of decimal place in SAP R/3 and BW

    Hello SAP experts,
I am extracting purchasing data from SAP R/3 using datasource 2LIS_02_SCL.
In BW I see a difference of one decimal place.
In RSA3  amount is shown as 17.350,00
Whereas in PSA above value is displayed as 1.735,000
Decimal notations are same in both R/3 and BW.
Please help me to understand the reason behind difference in values.
    Thanks and Regards
    Shilpa

    Hello All,
The issue is resolved. The difference in Amount is due to different decimal configuration settings in TCURX table in both R/3 and BW. Ideally these settings should be same in R/3 and BW. If decimal settings doesn't match misalignment has to be taken care of either in ETL or during query design.
    Thanks and Regards

  • More DECIMAL places for MM price-Not Global

I have read the <u>many</u> postings on decimals. However, I have not seen the exact scenario I'm inquiring about.
I want to increase the decimal places from 2 to 4 for the cost of materials we purchase (i.e. supplier price), but I do NOT want to set this as a global aspect for the company when dealing with numbers/currency.
It's not just a simple matter of setting a different unit of measure, because let's say we order a reel of capacitors - the reel may come in qty of 1,000 or 2,500 (only one example). So, we really need to set price by (ea). The problem is that many of our parts price at .0014 (example) and in SAP that shows a cost or price [depending on where you're looking] of zero. Plus, the Purchasing agent sends a PO with incorrect price information.
<b>It would be very helpful if anyone could tell me how to increase the number of decimal places for specific fields as opposed to globally.</b>
    Thanks you!!

The right tool to do that is the pice unit. This is in the system for ecatly that purpose, to provide more precision in prices. It has nothing to do with unitz of measure that is used for logistical purposes.
If you have a price 0f 0.0014 each you can set a price unit of 1000 and will have a price of 1.40 for 1000. You still can have only 500 or even 1 on stock. the calculation done if you receive your 2500 will be 2500 * 1,40 / 1000 which is of course the same as 2500 * 0,0014

  • Decimal places for unit of measure

    Dear All ,
If i change the Decimal Places for rounding in Customizing for Unit of measure ( CUNI tcode) for KG as 6 from 3 whether it will calculate with the 6 decimal places like 0.004756 ( earlier with 3 decimal places it will calculate any multiplication with 0.004 now i want the same with 0.004756 Kg )
    whether it will work ?
    and where it will impact

    Hi
No it will not work like that. And it depend on the transaction where you enter that. In case of Purchase order quntity field it will be always with 2 decimal places because field MENGE has 2 decimal places only. If your system is already live then it is not advisible to do such changes.

  • Decimal places not allowed

    Hello,
We have created one materail , their Base unit of measure is "BOX" Checked the CUNI transaction, in that Decimal places  field is "0' and Decimal place rounding filed "0"
With reff to this material while creation of Purchase order system will allow me to enter Decimal places..Means i can enter 102.132 BOX in qty filed in Purchase order.
But with ref to same material while creation of process order, system will not allow me to enter decimal places. why?  system should not allow decimal places for BOX unit of measure in Process order.
    sapman man

you cannot restrict this behaviour with CUNI customizing, you can only check and stop this in a user exit.
SAP inventory managment allows and stores 3 decimals for any unit of measure. You can only define how it will show the value to the users and how it will round the decimals if it calculates the conversion. But if you enter manually with decimals, then SAP will not round this.

  • Adding Decimal Place

    Dear Guru
I want to add 5 digits after decimal in my pricing condition types.Pls suggest how to make this settings
    Thanx
    MK

    Dear MK,
The transaction OY04 is the correct to define decimal places based on currency. However, before you
made the changes, please kindly make sure you don't have existing or not completing purchasing document
in your system as this will affect the document that may create inconsistency later.

  • Can not change the number of decimal places in the normalization of result

    dear all
i want to see the proportion of some data, for example, the income of May is 300, and the total income is 1000, i need to display it like 33.33% . so i set the
Calculate single values as normalization of result, and then it display 33.333%, i like to display only two number of decimal places, so i set the number of decimal places as 0.00, but i doesn't work, it still display three decimal numbers.
maybe you say i can use the percentage function like %CT %GT %RT, but i need to allow external access to my query, so the i can not use those functions.
can somebody helps me ? your advice is appreciated.

hi,thanks for your advice, but that doesn't suit for my problem.
before i set the normalization of result, i can change the decimal values. After that i cann't.
In your thread, someone proposes use the T-code OY04. but this wouldn't help. As i change to other key figure, such as user quantity, when i set normalization of result, it still display 3 decimal values.
i think the point maybe lie in the normalization of result. please advise... thanks...
