Decimal Places In VDT Measures

hi experts,
i  have a small problem with decimal places.
i'm using the UMC_CPM_STRAT to customize my Measures and VDTs
i have created measures using 0QUANTITY and defined 0.00 in the decimal places field.
after a while i have changed all the measures of the tree to 0 in decimal places
now i've changed back to 0.00 but my measures do not change
when using the UMV_PRES my measures has no dec' places like it is still using 0 and not 0.00
have i forgotten something along the way?
need your help
thank you,
Or.

hi all,
i was able to solve the problame of the decimal places display in my vdt.
first i have changed it in tge measure attr' in the transaction UMC_CPM_STRAT -> Measures
since i am working with a bps definitions i have found that i need to change it also in the transaction BPS0 -> Planing Area -> Planing Level -> ad-hoc Package -> Menual Planning -> change layout
in the layout def's you can choose the number of dec' places.
for your knowledge.
Best Regards,

  • Getting an error in CIF Inbound queue:"Only 0 decimal places are permitted for unit of measure PC"

    Hi,
I am getting an error in CIF Inbound queue (function: CIF_ORDER_INBOUND_30A). The error text says "Only 0 decimal places are permitted for unit of measure PC".
Can anyone point out the solution to resolve this error? It would be a big help for me as I am new to APO and so getting difficult to find a clue for it.
    Thanks.
    Regards
    Mansi

    Hi Mansi,
Please check the cif queue you will get the order number from that order number you can find out material code. Then check the material master unit of measure in MM03 you have used some alternative unit of measure and system is unable to convert order to  alternative unit of measure because of decimal setting. If you go to CUNI and check the unit if measure PC it is not permitted for decimal places. If you need decimal than change the UoMof Material and use diff UoM or allow the decimal for PC which is not good practice.

  • Decimal places in Measurement tab for Land

We lease-in Land in Acres. Typical land sizes require area to be defined in decimal units e.g 18.963 ACR or 256.755 ACR.
However, in the measurement tab for creating Land the amount column is rounding off all decimal values to whole numbers. Like in the above example what gets entered is 18 ACR and 256 ACR respectively.
I did not find any decimal options while defining the measurement type. Any clues how to go about resolving this issue?
    Hamdan

    Hello Hamdan,
You need to define new custom or change the existing unit of measurements assigned in respective dimensions. In this node you specify the number of decimal places you wish to have on particular unit. for example usually ACERS have 3 to 4 decimals as the unit is too high and the rent amount can differ a lot if we omit the decimals.
SPRO -> SAP Netweaver -> Check Units of Measurement
On the next screen select the dimension and click on the unit of measurement. create or edit the unit and specify the rounding decimals and other attributes as needed.
Assign this Unit of measurement to the measurement types in REFX and the Measurement types of the object types, which I am sure you know already.
    Enjoy,

  • Decimal places in unit of measure in Sales order

    Hi,
In the Sales Order application in PCUI, when I create a create an order for customer XYZ, and add product ABC for qty 1 which uses unit of measure PC, the qty is displayed with 3 decimals as 1,000 whereas if I use the unit of measure EA the quantity is displayed without the 3 decimals as 1. I need the unit of measure PC to not have the decimal places like in SAPGUI.
Could anyone help me understand how this can be achieved?
Thank you for help in advance.
    Regards,
    Priya

    To elaborate better.
Again, use Tcode CUNI - Unit of measurement : Initial Screen.
At initial screen, choose TIME from the list (where by default AAAADL- no dimensions is there).
And click on UNIT OF MEASUREMENT button.
In that you will find MON - Month.
There go for details by selecting MON or select MON and press F5 from Key board.
For MON unit maintain following parameter as per your requirement:
-Number of decimal places for number display
Use - This parameter determines the number of decimal places with which this measurement unit is displayed.
-Base ten exponent for floating-point display
Use - This exponent determines how the values for this measurement unit are formatted as floating point numbers.
Examples - If the exponent is 3, the floating point numbers have the format xxx.xxxxE3.
And deselect commercial meas. unit in application parameters section.
I would suggest instead of changing standard settings of MON, you create ZMON in TIME dimension.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Decimal places in alternative unit of measure

    Dear Gurus,
we have a material having two units of measure. Kg and meter.
we have to define base unit as meter and alternative as kg.
    1 m = 5.236 kg.
But when i define this in alrenative UOM system gives error
    "Decimal places are not permitted"
I know I can do it by multiplying by 1000 but I want to know whether we can use decimal places in alternative UOM
I have already defined in CUNI display tab decimal places =3
    please help.
    Thanks

    S.J.,
Wether you use the unit as main unit or additional unit, it doesn't make difference if you have maintained the required settings in CUNI, which you say alreadt done.
Check out other setings like if you have used user exit etc.
Also test the same unit some where else to have the exact idea.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Decimal places not visble depending on unit of measure

    Hi,
I have a fields in a table line that is a quantity field with 3 decimal places, I also have a unit of measure associated with that quantity.
When my unit of measure is EA the quantity displays with 3 decimal places, but when the unit of masure is M it displays with NO decimal places. The display becomes very ugly when there is a mixture of units of measure.
Anyone know why thsi is happening?
    Cheers,
    Ross

I'd suggest that there is a conversion routine specified on the domain of the amount field - probably "CUNIT" which takes the value of the unit, looks it up in T006 and then applies relevant formatting to the field.
This isn't really a WDA thing - it's nice that WDA does this (well perhaps not in your case but it is standard behaviour for amounts and unit fields.
    Cheers,
    Chris

  • DECIMAL PLACE UN UNIT OF MEASURE

    Dear Friends
is ther any way to maintain decimal place during alternate  unit of measure.  FOr Ex 1  bar = 23.34 Kg. without rounding 100 bar = 2334 kg. i already maintained decimal in CUNI. still not able to maintain decimal.
    Thanks and Regards
    Madhavan

Yes you should be able to maintain this. Ensure that you allow decimals for the UOM Kg in CUNI it should allow this conversion you are referring to. You should put decimal places for both display and conversion.

  • Changing number of decimal places for Unit of Measure

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to convert a quantity in one unit of measure to another (custom) unit of measure.
The issue is that the custom unit of measure has 4 decimal places (customer requirement). I found function module MD_CONVERT_MATERIAL_UNIT which does the trick for regular, 3 decimal places, UoM's. It won't output 4 decimal places since the output data type is EKPO-MENGE, which has 3 decimal places.
Does anyone have experience with trying to convert material's UoMs into 4 or more decimal places?
    Thanks!

  • 3 decimal places for unit of measure KG

    Hi,
I would like to create a production order. In the field total quant I would like to give the 3 decimal places of mesure KG.
Error: "Only 2 decimal places are permitted for unit of measure KG"
Where can I customize the system, so that 3 decimal places have been permited.
    thanks

    thanks
I've seen the place in Customizing where I will maintain it.
Now I only have display authorization for class SS
I will speak with our Basis for more authorization.

  • Decimal places for unit of measure

    Dear All ,
If i change the Decimal Places for rounding in Customizing for Unit of measure ( CUNI tcode) for KG as 6 from 3 whether it will calculate with the 6 decimal places like 0.004756 ( earlier with 3 decimal places it will calculate any multiplication with 0.004 now i want the same with 0.004756 Kg )
    whether it will work ?
    and where it will impact

    Hi
No it will not work like that. And it depend on the transaction where you enter that. In case of Purchase order quntity field it will be always with 2 decimal places because field MENGE has 2 decimal places only. If your system is already live then it is not advisible to do such changes.

  • Increase decimal places in Gross Unit of Measure

    Hello Everyone,
I had an issue regarding Decimal places for a specific Unit of measure.
My Base unit of measure is maintained in Ea. For this the material is maintained with a gross maintained in Kg's. Now to record 2.5 grams i have to menition .0025 Kg but system does not accept up to 4 decimal places. system only accepts up to 3 decimal places. Even increasing the decimal places in CUNI does not make the system to accept 4 Decimal places.
So what is the solution to this.
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Aji

    HI
I dont think that we can increase the length of the decimal places filed in all cases. Refer note 95869.

  • Routing - decimal places for unit of measure conversion quantity

    Hello all,
in the change routing screen in SAP (CA02), when going to a operation detail screen, a unit of measure conversation value can be defined. A value for header and operation can be made.
Currently we cannot set any decimal values for operations, I get the error message: "decimal places are not permitted."
Where in customizing can I change that?
    Thanks
    Anne

    Hello,
    thanks for the answers.
    The UoM is LB.
I've already checked CUNI, but I can not find LB..?
Also I've noticed other places in SAP, for example the base quantity of some operations in the routing have a numbers with 3 decimal places and the same UoM LB, so this looks like the UoM is setup fine, maybe there are just problems with this special screen?
    Thanks

  • Changing decimal places in measuring tool

    Hi everyone,
I often use the measuring tool to measure old scanned drawings, it is very useful but it supplies two decimal places for mm dimensions, this is really too much.  I am not able to find any place where this setting can be changed.
    Thanks a lot in advance
    Claudio

thank you for your inputs, Jeevan.  we've tried up to 100,000 since any more will make the PO exceed the original contract amount.
the contract involved will be delivered in a span of many months, and billing and payments will depend on percentage of completion.
i hope someone can enlighten me as to how other companies do it, best practice or not.  i'm pretty sure those in construction or property development will find this case familiar. or maybe point me to an article or anything.
thank you for taking the time.

  • How to allows decimal place for unit of measure of order confirmation

    Hi Guys
we have some special cases here that need to confirm the order quantity as decimal place,is that possible made some customizing in code CO11N? or have some ways support it .....
ex. work order A   10 EA
    - operation 1   : colse 10 EA
    - operation 2   : close 4.5 EA
    Regards/Eric

    Hi,
You can set a UoM to allow decimals in transaction CUNI. But i fail to understand why you would want to set EA to have decimals.
If a material is to be managed in decimals then evaluate the usage of a different UoM which allows for decimals.

  • Decimal places in Query generator

    Hi All,
I am observing a weird behavior in Query generator's execution of a simple sql query. the query is :
    Select 0.002834
now, in the general settings - display - amounts , I put the decimal value as 4 or 6,  then only it prints 0.0028 or 0.002834.
else it prints 0.00 (if the decimal place is 2). it should ideally have nothing to do with the display of amount. any idea?
(the effect is shown only after you change the decimal display, update it and close and reopen the SAP application.
    Thanks,
    Binita
Edited by: Binita  Joshi on Apr 12, 2010 4:03 PM

    Hello Binita,
    >I have tried converting it to numeric(19,4) and numeric(19,6) but still the result was same.
Check your decimal places settings in
    \Administration\System Initialization\General Settings\Display tab
    Check the following values:
    - Units (For meaurement)
    - Decimals in Query
    Now let' s say,
    - Unit set to 6 decimal places
    - Decimals in Query set to 2
run the following query in query generator:
    select cast(0.000245 as decimal(19,6))
    result will be
    0.00
run the same query as FMS on item master data in any measurement field (lenght)
    select cast(0.000245 as decimal(19,6))
    result will be
    0.000245
Now set the - Decimals in Query set to 6 on  \Administration\System Initialization\General Settings\Display tab
run the following query in query generator:
    select cast(0.000245 as decimal(19,6))
    result will be
    0.000245
This is a normal habit of SAP B1 rounding engine / displaying engine.

    J.
