Decimals for the currency

HI
our client has a requirement that, his GL should show only 2 digits after decimal and his standard cost/planned cost/unit cost in material master, unit selling price
values in the billing document  should have 4 digits after decimals. they are using the currency SAR.i check the currency settings ( oy04) and found out that it could be common only. i,e either 2 digits or 4 digits after the decimal.
is there a way out so that we can meet the clients requirement?
any OSS notes on this
pls help
thanks in advance
with regards
kalyan

Hi Kalyan,
as you observed correctly, the number of decimals is a setting of the currency and cannot be changed in dependency of the object a currency value appears. For material master or selling price you have the priice unit to adjust the value to the accurate value.
To giv an example: Insetad of having a price of 0,11 for the piece you could set the price unit to 100 and set a price of 11,11 for 100 pieces. In that way no rounding losses are created.
best regards,

  • Change Amount depending on number of decimals for a given currency

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to change the amount field based on the number of decimals.
I am using 'BAPI_CURRENCY_GETDECIMALS' to get the number of decimals for the given currency.
I am having an amount field(say 3000.00), that needs to be changed.
In our case, we have to change the amount field if the decimals are less or great than 2.
    Eg:
Suppose, if no.of decimals is 2, then the same amount should be returned, i.e., 3000.00.
If the number of decimals is 1, then the amount value should be multiplied by 10, that is 30000.0 should be returned. If the number of decimals is 0, then the amount value should be multiplied by 100, that is 300000 should be returned.
If the number of decimals is 3, then the amount value should be divided by 10, that is 300.000 should be returned. If the number of decimals is 4, then the amount value should be divided by 100, that is 30.0000 should be returned and so on.
    Any pointers would be helpful..
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi All,
This logic works fine for multiplication. But checking conditions for decimals > 2 would involve many conditons.
I think this can be achieved by two ways.
First way is by concatenating number of zeros to 1 depending on decimals and either by dividing or multiplying the values by checking the condition.
Second way is by shifting the decimal point either left or right depending on the decimals.
Please help me in implementing the above.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Problem with the currency JPY

    Hi.
I have set up a table, in which a column is as price inputfield and another as currency column defined.
The price column is defined as 'currency' with 2 decimals, and the currency defined as 'cuky'
Now the problem comes, if I change the currency from JPY to other currency or reverse, the price will be substract by 100  or reverse.
    can anyone help?

If you use a field that doesn't have the data dictionary reference between the currency and the currency code field, then this funtionality won't be there.  However the functionality is there for a good reason so be careful when removing it.

  • Regarding the currency IDR

    Hi,
when IDOC is posting an invoice, the field VAT (E1EDK04-MWSBT) in the IDOC is rounding of and coming into the invoice for the currency IDR and its not happening for other currencies like USD and INR.
It seems in the FM '<b>CURRENCY_AMOUNT_IDOC_TO_SAP</b>' its rounding off the value.
As this is standard program, can anyone help me in getting the correct value without rounding off?
    Thanks,
    Sreenivas.

    Hi,
         hi,
The reference field is used for the output, the output/input format of a currency field depends on the value of its reference field.
For example if you create a screen using the field KONV-KBETR :
    the reference field is RV61A-AWEI1:
    if you set RV61A-AWEI1 = 3
the value in KONV-KBETR is beeing shown with 3 decimals
So you could see 3,000 but this value is automatically stored as 30.00
    if you set RV61A-AWEI1 = 2
the value in KONV-KBETR is beeing shown with 2 decimals
All this convertions are automatically made in according to the value setted in reference field.
You can see this using the statament WRITE with options CURRENCY, try this:
    PARAMETERS P_KBETR LIKE KONV-KBETR.
    WRITE: P_KBETR CURRENCY '3'.
    WRITE: / P_KBETR CURRENCY '2'.
    WRITE: / P_KBETR CURRENCY '1'.

  • Right Align the Currency values in ALV report

    Hi Friends,
I have developed a report and displayed the output using the ALV. I have columns for currency values in the output table.
The fields for currency values are character fields. The values in the table for display, is properly right aligned (default for currency values). But in the output, the currency values are left aligned.
Since I need blank lines in the output table after each entry, I have used the character fields in the output table so that I can clear them and append it to get the blank line.
Please suggest me to get the currency values right aligned.
    Thanks in advance.

try with this field in field catalog.
             just(1)        type c,        " (R)ight (L)eft (C)ent.
for the currency field add this field too in field catalog. it will work.

  • GR/IR amount Diffrences between MIRO and MIGO for Document currency

    Dear Friends,
I have one issue in MIRO Document posting, I will explain the issue by below steps.
    1. I have created Purchase Order with option "Exchange rate fixed" and my PO Exchange rate is 1.8700
    Purchase order details
Quantity - 2, Price - 23,376.85 and Total PO value - 46,753.70 EUR ( Document currency), local currency is SGD
    2. We posted Single Goods Receipts entry for the above PO and system took exchange rate from PO (1.87)
GR Accounting document value - 46753.70
    3. We have create two invoice documents for the above single Goods Receipts.
First invoice posted with correct value and accounting entries are below
    Debit - GRIR Clearing account - 23, 376.85 EUR - 43,714.71 SGD
    Debit - Material account - 0.00 EUR - 2272.23 SGD
    Credit - Vendor account - 23, 376.85 EUR - 45,986.94 SGD

    Debit - Material account - 0.00 EUR - 4219.52 SGD
    Credit - Vendor account - 23, 376.85 EUR - 45,986.94 SGD
    Credit - Material account - 5844.21 EUR - 0.00 SGD
Now my questions is why system posted extra one credit line item with value 5844.21 EUR for second invoice, I tried to simulate this same situation again. but I couldnt get this extra line item for credit.
    Please advice and guide me.
    Thanks & Best Regards,

    Hi,
Both Invoice header details Exchange rate is followed by Exchange rate table. But it did conversion based on PO Exchange rate.
We didn't maintain Exchange rate type EURO for the currency EUR to SGD.
Normally system will post the exchange differences in local currency not in Document currency.

  • Copying of the currency translation methods

    Hello All,
is there a way to copy the currency translation methods inclusive all steps in the workbench?
The problem is that we want to use the same currency translation methods for the currency simulation as for the normal currency translation. The only difference should be the determination of the exchange rate ("Exchange rate type" for the currency simulation vs. "Exchange rate indicator" for the normal currency translation). We have over 40 method steps in each CT method and creating of the new CT methods with the same structure as in existing CT methods would be a pretty extensive job ;(
Could you suggest a way we can solve this problem? (referencing of the existing CT methods with the substitution of the determination of the exchange rate would be an ideal solution, but i am afraid it is not possible ...).
    Many thanks in advance,
    Kirill

    Hello Mani,
i would create the new CT task for the currency simulation and define the copied CT methods in it's definition. Therefore i will have 2 different CT tasks , one for the currency translation, the another for the currency simulation.
I would willingly avoid copying of the CT methods, by reason that i have to change both in the future in order to have the same functionality for the currency translation and currency simulation, but i feel it is not possible to avoid this
    Thank you,
    Kirill

  • Default Exchange rate type at document type level for parallel currencies

    Hi,
I have a scenario wherein 2 parallel currencies have been maintained (Grp & index based) against a Co Code and have maintained a default exchange type (Z2) in the Document type settings (OBA7).
But when I want to post a foreign currency document, system picks Z2 rates for Co Code currency conversion and not for Grp & index based. In fact it picks M rate for these addtional currencies.
I know that for parallel currencies, the system will always use the exchange rate type defined in transaction OB22 ( "M" rate) which is at Co Code level but I want default exchange rate type Z2 to be picked at Document Type level for all the parallel currencies.
Please suggest how to archive this.
    Thanks,
    Sam

    Dear Sam,
The exchange rate type defined in the FI document type (-> field
exchange rate type in transaction OBA7) is only used for the currency
translation from transaction/document currency into first local
currency, not for the currency translation into second local (group)
currency or for the currency translation into third local currency.
The exchange rate types for the currency translation into second
local (group) currency and third local currency are defined in
    transaction OB22.
Unfortunately there is no option to change the exchange rate of 2nd or
3rd local currency in our posting transactions. The design doesn't
regard that requirement. But you have the chance to adjust the parallel
currencies in OB22 or to change the amounts manually.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to change the currency in Adobe X Reader

    Hello,
New here and looking for some help in changing the currency from the £ sign to a $ sign.
I am not very program savy so any help anyone could provide would be great!
    Thank you in advance.

Is this a form you created in Acrobat or is it a form that you're using with Reader? If the latter, there's nothing you can do if the field has been set up to format the field with a £ for the currency symbol.

  • BEx Currency Translation for planned Currency rate

    Dear Experts,
The requirement of my query is to convert the key figures to Group Currency (EUR) at a fixed exchange rate defined by the user in the beginning of a planning cycle.
In the IMG I have created an Exchange Rate type for manual input and defined the exchange rate for a fix date for the currencies I want to convert.
When creating Currency conversion type (tcode RSCUR) in the tab “Exchange Rate” I’ve chosen my Exchange Rate type and the option Dynamic Exchange Rate Determination. In the “Currency” tab I’ve chosen a variable of manual input for the currency and the option Target Currency Selection with translation. In the “Time Ref.”  I opted for a fixed time reference.
On the query definition I choose Currency conversion type and the variable I created for it.
Can anyone tell me how can we allow the user to commute between the two currencies in the query for the same translation?
Another question/problem is that we are using the table TCURR for keeping the exchange rates for the planning process. Does anyone has a different solution to keep this currency rates?
    Many Thanks and Best Regards,

    Hi
So these planning functions work in the same way as the BEx Currency translation? it makes the currency conversion to present the data in the new currency. If I save the data I will keep the data in the new currency, am I right?
    **Yes.**
If I am using the same Key figure for source and target key figure can I still use the standard IP function?
    **Yes.**
And if I wanted to convert back to the original currency I had to create a new planning function and a new currency translation type to do the opposite?
    **You can try Repost Function.**
