Decipher tools or Wondershare to retrieve daughters deleted text messages?

My wife and I are needing to retrieve our 16 year olds deleted text messages. We found two programs: Wondershare and Decipher Tools.  Between these two programs which would you use?  And just to clarify,  do I hook her phone up to ITunes, then back it up and then retrieve her deleted text messages from that backup? (The wagging understand it is that you use wondershare or the other program to retrieve the text messages from that backup file- right?)  Thanks

    Myself and my girlfriend use the decipher textmessage program. She's on windows and I use the version for my macbook pro. It works cool and lets you save your text messages from your iphone to your computer. I've actually recovered a few deleted messages with it too which was helpful since I'm a laywer and needed them for work. Their site is:

    Well, my boyfriend was needing texts that he deleted to make "space" on his phone. He needs them for a court case, but we haven't got in touch with verizon yet to see if they can do that or not. I was just curious as to what other people had to say first.  : )  The lawyer who was questioning him said that Verizon doesn't have a system or a way of retrieving permanently deleted texts.     Deleted messages are not recoverable on the iPhone itself.
    But it is fairly easy to recover them as follows:
    Connect the iPhone to iTunes in the computer, make sure that in Summary Page  "Backup to this computer" is checked, then do Manual Backup.
    Since the deleted messages are still on the iPhone, the deleted messages are also in the Backup.
    Download a third party app called "Data Recovery for iPhone", and use this app to get the deleted messages, it will find the backup on your computer that you just made with iTunes on its own.
    After that uninstall the App.

    Yes you can as long as they were part of the back up and you did not remove anything from your iCloud back up. By default, it backs up Photos and videos in your Camera Roll, Device settings, App data, Home screen and app organization, iMessage, text (SMS), and MMS messages, Ringtones, Visual Voicemail.

    I dont mean to jump into this conversation but I have a question for you. I have read your advice and tried to follow it regarding such situations. LAst night as I received a text my iphone 3GS froze and all of a sudden when to the black screen with the apple on it (as if i had rstartedit my self by holding the home button and power buttong ) But i hadnt. WHEn the phone turned back on ALL of my texts were gone. EVery single one of them. I have tried to do what you said. I went to itunes, to edit, preferences, unclicked the box that made my phone sync every time. The next thing you said to do was to right click in the left device pane and hit restore? There isnt a left pane...or when I right click nothing happens. Please excuse my ignorance but I dont know what to do next? THere is an option of a restore from a month or so ....but I cant right click on it. If i plug my device in and am on the main screen of my device when i hit restore my option is to factory settings.....

    If you have a backup, you can restore from that backup and get the text messages that were stored in that backup.
    For example, if you accidentally deleted a text message an hour ago and you backed up to iCloud two hours ago, you can restore from that iCloud backup and have the messages back.
    Pretty simple.
    But if you don't have a backup or simply don't feel like going through the trouble, there is no way whatsoever.
