  • UWL decision buttons are different in two portal systems sandbox and develp

Hi All,  we are in the process of  implementing the UWL in ECC6, the decesion buttons to select in these systems differ they are not same;  in one system we see all buttons in other system
some buttons are missing. however we have the same settings and configuration in both the systems. kindly advise me on this.
    Best Regards, Tom.

Hi Surjit, Vijay: Thank you both for getting back to me,
We have connected the same system (SAP ECC 6.0) in 2 portals (Portal 7.0 SP 14) and performed the same settings on both systems. To explain the issue Iu2019ll use an example: we launched a simple test workflow from SWU3. In one portal, in UWL Task Preview we see user decision buttons for this task: u2018Execute background step immediatelyu2019 and u2018Execute background step in a minuteu2019. However, we donu2019t see these buttons in the other portal and we did the same thing on both (we made sure that UWL iView settings as well as system definitions are the same on both portals, and simply registered the R3 system in UWL Admin; no change to automatically generated xml config file after register). We canu2019t figure out why these buttons show in one portal and we donu2019t know how to enable these user decision buttons to show on the other portal. Weu2019ve seen in documentation how to hide them (in iView settings), but no option to force them to display.
    Your help is greatly appreciated!
    Thank you,  Tom.

  • UWL: Missing decision buttons for travel workflow

    Hi all,
We're implementing travel workflow for a customer and we're not able to display the decision buttons in the UWL. We're quite baffled, because we've done this many times before with success. The items appear correctly, but no buttons for approve/reject.
    What we have done:
    - re-registered system
    - manually created the XML file
    - decision is working fine in backend (WF inbox)
    - decision is working fine with RFCs (e.g. SAP_WAP_DECISION_COMPLETE)
We've compared UWL support info with a working system, and the only difference is that in the working system, there is an action called "GroupAction" which is not available in the non-working system for the relevant decision task.
The StepID / Item Type is "TS99000001"
I've already created an OSS, but maybe someone here know something.
The backend is of version ECC 6.0 SP18 (HR 40) (Ehp0)
THe portal is NW 7.0 SP17

  • Decision Buttons for SC Approval without functionality

    Dear Experts,
in SRM 7.0 Classic, we are facing the following problem:
When an approver logs on to the SRM Portal, he sees a work list with the shopping carts that are open for approval.
At the bottom of the list there are so called decision buttons where it should be possible to approve or reject a shopping cart without entering it.
Unfortunately these buttons are not working in our system. When the approver klicks on such a button, e.g. the button Approve or Reject, the following error is shown on the screen:
    "Exception type:com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.connect.ConnectorException
    Message:Wed Aug 11 10:42:17 CEST 2010
    (Connector) :com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.connect.ConnectorException:Wed
    Aug 11 10:42:17 CEST 2010
    (Connector) :com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception:Access via 'NULL' object
    reference not possible."
Can you please help me understand the root cause for this failure?
    Thank you very much.

    Hi,
You can handle it in the BADI BBP_SRC_DETERMINE. Approved SC goes to Sourcing Cockpit and PO is not generated.

  • Not able to view the User Decisions Buttons in UWL

    Hi Experts,
We have configured the UWL for the WI execution. Now the Problem is I am not able to view the User Decisions Step buttons in UWL instead when I select the User Decision Step it is opening in SAP GUI there I am able to view the SBWP WI decisions screen.
But I need those buttons in UWL instead logging in SAP. CurrentlyI am able to see "Open Task", "Resubmit", "Forward" & "Assign to Me" buttons but similarly I want to display the User Decisions Buttons as well. Please let me know o how to achieve this requirement.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Srinivas

    Hi Viji,
I am sorry if it got confused I have copied the standard BO and done the enhancement to the DECISION method as per my requirement and now when I give this task in UWL it does not show up the buttons in Portal instead upon opening the work item it will open a SAP GUI and there it will show up the USER decision details similar to the things in the SBWP transaction. Instead I have seen some cases where it had shown the User Decision buttons in the Portal itself.
Let me know if you have any idea on this.

  • Hiding FPM "Close" button in Portal/NWBC

    Hello,
First some background, when you launch a WDA FPM application in the portal on of the standard buttons that it shows is the "Close" button. This button allows for the closing of the current browser window, When the FPM application is displayed inplace in the portal, this sort of behaviour is not very useful!
There was a thread : Re: Disable 'Close' button in Standard billing FPM Application in which Thomas Jung gave a detailed explanation of why this button was appearing and a very good suggestion on how to stop it.
I understand how I can hide this button - albeit a long winded process when the element is not available for personalisation unless you launch the application from NWBC or a portal (and with our dev portal not by default pointing to our configuration master client...) sigh...
I also understand that the WDA application is completely unaware that it is in an external portal window, or displayed inplace in the portal (although if it calls a new portal URL it can specify whether it should be displayed inplace or external).
What I don't understand is why this is the case - The portal has an API - Class AbstractNavigationConnectorNode method getShowType which returns whether the window is external or inplace, surely the WDA handler for the portal could query this and expose it to the WDA frameworkn through the interface IF_WD_PORTAL_INTEGRATION. Then it would be simple to hide the close button for inplace windows and show it for external windows.
Given that the portal allows users to launch whichever pages they want externally (although I tend to always turn off this option) it is very hard (i.e. not possible) for us to know for sure if the application will be launched inplace or externally - so "hard coding" the visibility of the close button by personalising the application is not a great solution.
WDJ is aware of the inplace/external nature of the portal window that it is running in and applications do code to support this. It seems to me an omission that WDA does not have this same level or knowledge of the portal environment that it is running in.
Are there any plans to extend the IF_WD_PORTAL_INTEGRATION interface to support this? Or are WDA applications destined to a less informed life than their WDJ cousins.
Sorry for the rant like nature of this post - but I hope that someone from SAP might be able to help me understand this problem.
    Cheers,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
Sorry about the late reaction. I think that is because of the nature of the question and the person who is asking. You are one of the expert people who are in SDN to help people. If you ask such questions then it is mostly stay not answered :).
I have encountered this problem earlier this year and also we have had several emails between Thomas Jung. We are not coming further than to follow Thomas suggestion to Disable the close button in Portal.

  • UWL - Help with Decision Buttons

    Hello SDNers,
I'm customizing the UWL iView to show approval itens only, and their respective decision buttons.
Everything looks ok, but when someone try to submit the decisions it shows the message:
    "reject wasn't correct"
Where "reject" is the name I gave to the action.
It also happens with the approval action.
Below is the XML I've created.
Does someone have a clue in what that message means, or what I've done wrong?
    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi There,
Make sure that your decisionKeys are correct.  I have seen issues with this many times.  Log on to the backend system and call  SAP_WAPI_DECISION_READ or SWK_DECISION READ for a specific workitem  (You can get the details of the workitem id from the support information on the UWL - enable this and you can check this specific workitem)  The decision key is an internal value (typically a numeric value) corresponding to the selected decision used by the provider.
You will need to ensure that you have x amount of decisions configured in the xml file, where x = the amount of decisions configured in the backend system.
For additional help with this topic please see the userDecision Action Handler documentation:

  • Usage decision button - regarding

    Hi,
In QF01, there is an Usage decision button in the top.
But i tried to go through QA32 to QF01, the usage button is not appearing.
The client telling in one user it is appearing when they go through QA32 .
What i should do to make it appear ?
    Thanks

I'm not sure you can.  I looked at it briefly and see the same button your users reported. So i beleive it is because in QA32 you have a UD button available on the main screen of QA32 so the programmers figured why would you need it when you went in to record defects.  I am surprised they even made that change however and i don't know know why the screens aren't the same. The must be calling a specific screen from QA32 when they call the program.
I don't think you'll find SAP to consider this a bug.

  • How to create a custom query button in Portal?

    Hello,
    I have a requirement.
In the portal form developed on a table, I have a EmpCD field which is a LOV. when I select a empcd from the LOV, I want to display that empcd details like EmpName, EmpDept, etc. Is is possible to auto-refresh the page with this condition?
Or, if this can be done with a custom button on the form, that is, if a user select the empcd from the LOV and then press this custom button, then on this, it gets the desired values from the underlying tables and displays them as labels on the portal form page.
Any help would be desirable. I am trying this for the past so many days but without any luck. I tried searching the Forums as well as Metalink but could not get anything.
    Thanks.
    Saabir.

    Hi John,
You can add a new button from the "Formatting and Validation " section by clicking on the FORM+ at the top of all the table fields. You can not do your own where clause as the query is made which includes all the columns of the form as shown on the form .
for your own queries what you van do is that you can leave the field blank if you do not want that field to be added in the where clause. If you want to add the field to the where clause you can use operators (against each field in there text boxes) to make your own where clause.More operators support are supported in the
    latest version.
Hope this give you some Information regarding your doubt.

  • Buttons on portal reports in 9.0.2

Is it possible to have radio buttons or checkboxes in SQL based portal reports? If so, are you able to execute code when they are selected?

    Hi,
You cannot do this with portal reports. You can use dynamic pages to do this. Here is a similar code which input types like text, hidden and buttons. The submit procedure is also available for the code to be executed when submitting.

  • How to add "Search button" in portal masthead

    Hi Experts,
We have to add search button in the portal masthead. We have not installed TREX. We want that on entering some text, the text should be searched in Google and result displayed in some nice way.
    Can you please help me?
    Regards,
    EP

You have to create your own Masthead iView.
    1. Download the Par file for the Masthead iView and setup a project in Netweaver Developer Studio. Name of the par file is com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par
    2. Modify the JSP file and make the needed changes
    3. Deploly the Par file with a new name.
    4. Create new masthead iView
    5. Edit the framework page and replace the masthead iView with the newly created masthead iView.

  • Query documentation button on  Portal

    Hello,
I want to put the documentation for the report in the 'Documentation Button' available on Portal. Where should I maintain this documentation so that it appears on portal?
Also, is there a way to add scroll overs on the fields? As in, if I move the mouse on the character/keyfigure in the report - a box appears which has some details about that field.
Helpful answers will be generously rewarded.
    Thanks,
    Jinal

    I have the same problem.

  • User Decision buttons(Approve,Reject) in workitem along with a tcode link

    Hi Friends,
I have a requirement to give two buttons in workitem.so that when user clicks the workitem,
he can get two options to either approve or reject the invoice.
They also want to see the document,so i need to give the link for the transaction code in workitem.
I have given the method as a default one in business object, and in method i am calling the transaction.
but still my required output is not coming.Workitem is only executing the tcode, when i m clicking on the workitem.
For this do i need to design a screen?
If yes how to give the link in custimized screen.
    Thanks in advance.
    Madhu.

    Let's get clear.
You have a decision workitem with two options.
This step is linked to a standard Task which calls to method PROCESS from standard Business Obect DECISION.
You should copy the standard task 8267 and in the new task create a reference to the business object and pass it from WF through binding.
When the workitem is created a hyperlink will appear in Attachments box. When this link is clicked the default method of the BOR will be called. The key of the BOR instance was already defined with the binding.
You can also attach more BOR instances passing them to the task through binding with the obect _Attach.Objects.

    Hi GT,
PL take a look at the function group HRECM00UI in SE80. It contains all the Function modules that interface with the Compensation frontend.
