Declaring Variable in Web dynpro ABAP

Hi all
I want to know how to declare variables globally and how to use internal tables from one method to another method without declaring each and every time in methods?
Please suggest me to do this
Appreciated your solution
Regards
Indiranjithn

Hi
This code in onselct method. For example
DATA lt_node_am_detl1 TYPE wd_this->Elements_node_am_detl1.
logic to move the data to internal table.
lo_nd_node_am_detl1->bind_table(  lt_node_am_detl1 ).
Now the filterd data in internal table and
I declared this internal table in componentcontroller attributes tab like
lt_node_am_detl1  and Elements_node_am_detl1 (Associate column ) and i tick the pulic check box.
i am using another method onclick() .
As you said the internal table declaration is not required if declared already in componentcontroller attributes tab .
data wa_itab like line of lt_node_am_detl1 .
Loop at lt_node_am_detl1 to wa_itab.
endloop.
while debugging i am not getting data in internal table .. Should I declared correctly in componentcontroller attributes tab .

        I have two web dynpro abap applications .
        I want to send a Variable from a web dynpro abap application to another  web dynpro abap application  using post method.
        Because, now I have used append_field_url  to send Variable,but this method will display the Variable in the URL.
        I do not need this result.
        I need the Variable from a web dynpro abap application to another  web dynpro abap application  and the Variable will not display in the URL.
        Can you give me an example?
        Thanks.

    HI Nawal Kishor Mittal :
    I have tried your method,but I can not get the value of variable.
    My code is as follows:
    The first web dynpro abap application:
    DATA:BEGIN OF l_send,
         l_value TYPE string,
         END OF l_send.
    l_send-l_value = '400001'.
    EXPORT l_send-l_value FROM l_send TO SHARED MEMORY indx(aa) ID 'YTEST_MATNR'.
    The second web dynpro abap application:
    DATA:BEGIN OF m_send,
         s_value TYPE string,
         END OF m_send.
    IMPORT m_send-s_value TO m_send FROM SHARED BUFFER indx(aa) ID 'YTEST_MATNR'.

    Also, since I am building a weddynpro DC, what is the proper way to include these jar files as Used DCs?
    Now proceed in the same way with the variable PORTAL_HOME and add the following .jar files:

  • Window Navigation In Web Dynpro ABAP

    In one of our requirements we would have to make use of the suspend plug in Web Dynpro Abap. Would anyone happen to have any other information on this topic. Is there a sample program available which demonstrates the same?
    The requirement is that, I have to call an external window (output screen) from my present screen (input screen). While this external window is active, the calling window (input screen) should be disabled. When the external window (output screen) is closed the input screen should be enabled again. I have read that suspend/resume plugs can be used for this. However, I have not been able to figure out how to use them.
    As a starting point, it would help if I can find out how navigation between two windows (not views) can be achieved.

    You can enable and disable a view at least programmatically by binding the enabled property of all elements to one context variable and setting this to false when you navigate and back to true when you come back.
    With these special plugs I haven't worked at time.

  • Problem in web dynpro ABAP program

    There are 2 input fields on first view carrid, connid and one "GO" Button
    1) "FLIGHTINFO" is the node under context of first view
    2) " FLIGHTTAB "  is a node under context of component controller having cardinality " 0..n " ,Dictionary structure "SFLIGHT" (i have selected only these many attributes " carrid, connid, fldate, planetype, seatsmax and seatsocc " )
    3) I have created  Method "FLIGHTTAB_FILL" in component controller to fill context node FLIGHTTAB
    Insert the source code for doing the following:
    -     Navigate to context node FLIGHTINFO
    -     Get element at lead selection for context node FLIGHTINFO
    -     Get CARRID and CONNID
    -     Fill an internal table with all datasets from database table SFLIGHT, who meet the constraints for CARRID and CONNID.
    -     Navigate to context node FLIGHTTAB
    -     Bind the internal table(having all standard fields of sflight ) to the context node FLIGHTTAB ( having those 6 attributs).
    4) On action GO ->Implement the invocation of Method " FLIGHTTAB_FILL".
    5) I have mapped node FLIGHTTAB to context of OUTPUTVIEW.  Display table on view OUTPUT_VIEW (for this i hav used code wizard).
    Problem: after entering values of connid & carrid I m getting proper entries in internal table. but output view is not at all trigger (although i have created plugs). Is it necessary that while binding internal table with context node FLIGHTTAB  should have same no of fields (i.e. in this case 6 )?
    I am a fresher, My concept of bindings and cardinality are not so clear so can anybody help me out?
    Thanx in advance for replying.

    Hi johnright ,
        No i dont think it is necessary that while binding internal table with context node should have same no of fields as the internal table . You might get some improper values in the corresponding fiels but it will not lead to any error.
      In your OUTPUTVIEW once you created the table UI element in layout and you bind it to FLIGHTTAB node you dont have to use any code wizard method to display the values. If the node contains values it will display automatically. (in your case you are filling it in step #).
    Check :-
    1. In your On action GO after filling the table you are firing the out bound plug :-
        WD_THIS->FIRE_INITIAL_OUT_PLG(
    2.All outbound plug and inbound plug are link properly and every thing is ACTIVATED.
    If still unable to find the error try to debug method wise and find where the error occurs and reply to us.
    Binding:-
    In web dynpro ABAP you will not able to get any value of any variable outside of any method. Here we use context node which is referrence that we create reference to any particular structure we required. Now to hold the values you need to bind
    the values of your internal table to the context node.
    If the node is in view then its values are visible to all the local method of the view.
    If the node is in component controller then  the you bind a value to the node from one view and you can get it in another view.
    Remember binding and mapping are not same.
    Mapping is done between node like inthe second scenario i have explained you need to create a node in view controller and then you need to map it to the corresponding view of component controller to send values across view.
    cardinality:-
    Each node contains data fields that represent one of the following:
        An individual instance of an object type
        A table of instances.
    This property of a node is known as its cardinality of table of instances.
    If you need table instance :- 0..n or 1...n
       In case of 1...n one default value is created. generally we use this as mainly we need to work with table.
    In case you need a individual instance of a object or like you want value like a structure only :-  0...1 or 1....1.

  • Adding attachments to workflow from Web Dynpro ABAP Application program.

    Hi,
    workflow is supposed to start by a Web Dynpro ABAP Application.
    The user can attach files to it.
    A superior is supposed to review the files and either approve or reject the request.
    I tried the following in Web Ddynpro ABAP:
    CALL FUNCTION 'EWW_WORKFLOW_START'
    EXPORTING
    X_TASK = 'WS90000074'
    IMPORTING
    Y_WORKFLOW_ID = lv_WF_ID
    TABLES
    X_CONTAINER = lv_IT_CONTAINER
    EXCEPTIONS
    then followed by:
    CALL FUNCTION 'SAP_WAPI_ATTACHMENT_ADD'
    EXPORTING
    WORKITEM_ID = lv_wf_id
    ATT_HEADER = lv_swr_att_header
    ATT_BIN = Item_FILENAMEATTACHED
    DOCUMENT_OWNER = SY-UNAME
    LANGUAGE = SY-LANGU
    IMPORTING
    ATT_ID = lv_swr_att_id
    The Workflow has only one user decision step and one notification Step.
    In the user decision step, there is a binding from ATTACHOBJECTS to the task.
    But, in the log, you can see the attachment in the Workflow Container of the workflow instance, but you don't see it in the task (neither Inbox nor UWL)
    I have checked the binding it is correct. I am getting the attachment in workflow container in '_attach_objects' element. but this attachment has to go to the user decision step, so I am binding the '_attach_objects' of workflow container to '_attach_objects' of user decision step. But the attachment was not going to user decision step.
    Could you please let me know where am i doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    V.Nagaraju

    @Ruslim Chang
       Sorry to point out but the FM will return the Workitem ID only so there is no problem with the LV_WF_ID variable.
    @vundralla nagaraju
    Instead of making binding between attachobjects make binding between
    WiGroup_ID <---- attachobjects
    and then on the next step you try to make biniding in the user decision step by using WiGroup_ID.I think it should work.

  • How to find the BADI'S in Web Dynpro ABAP

    Hi Experts,
    I'm new to Web Dynpro ABAP. Can any one tell me, how to find the BADI'S for standarad components like i.e DEMO_ROADMAP .Please tell me, steps/procedure to find the BADI'S in WDA.
    Thanks ,
    Chaitanya
    Moderator message: wrong forum, please have a look in the "Web Dynpro ABAP" forum.
    Edited by: Thomas Zloch on Jun 18, 2011 4:30 PM

    Hi Nagaraju,
    There is another fool-proof method to find BADIs while executing a transaction -
    1. Goto transaction SE80
    2. Select "Class / Interface", type in the class name CL_EXITHANDLER and 'Enter"
    3. On the method GET_INSTANCE, create a Breakpoint just after the call to cl_exithandler=>get_class_name_by_interface at the following line -
    <i>CASE sy-subrc.</i>
    Once the breakpoint has been set, call the transaction you wish to find the BADI for and you will notice that the debugger opens everytime a BADI is about to be called. You could get the name of the BADI from the the value of the variable "EXIT_NAME".
    CL_EXITHANDLER is a service class that is called by standard SAP code everytime a BADI is about to be called. So, setting a breakpoint here should let you know exactly which BADIs are called.
    Hope this helps!
    Thanks,
    Rohini.

  • Web Dynpro JAVA VS. Web Dynpro ABAP

    Hi,
    I'm interested in advantages and disadvantages of WD JAVA & WD ABAP. Could anybody give me some "detailed" information about it?
    We need any information you can give us.
    regards,
    Sharam

    Hi,
    <b>Web Dynpro for ABAP:</b>
    Web Dynpro for ABAP or Web Dynpro for ABAP (WD4A, WDA) is the SAP standard UI technology for developing Web applications in the ABAP environment. It consists of a runtime environment and a graphical development environment with special Web Dynpro tools that are integrated in the ABAP Workbench (SE80).
      The use of declarative and graphical tools significantly reduces the implementation effort
    1)    Web Dynpro supports a structured design process
    2)      Strict separation between layout and business data
    3)     Reuse and better maintainability by using components
    4)     Automatic operation of the Web Dynpro application using the keyboard
    5)     User interface accessibility is supported
    6)     Full integration in the reliable ABAP development environment

    <b>Web Dynpro for Java:</b>
    Web Dynpro is a client-independent programming model of the SAP NetWeaver technology platform for developing user interfaces for professional business applications. It is based on the model view controller paradim which ensures that the business logic is separated from the presentation logic. This architecture is visible in the Web Dynpro perspective of the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS).
    Web Dynpro helps you with the development of Web applications by:
    1)       Ensuring platform-independence with the meta model approach
    2)       Minimizing the implementation effort through declarative programming
    3)      Supporting a structured design process by applying the model view controller paradigm
    4)        Providing reuse and better maintainability by using components
    5)       Providing graphical support with tools in the Web Dynpro perspective
    6)       Providing the SAP NetWeaver Java Development Infrastructure (NWDI) which supports team work with different services such as source code versioning and the Central Build Service.

  • Userid of a Portal-user in Web Dynpro ABAP

    Dear colleagues,
    we want to migrate our application from BSP to Web Dynpro ABAP and I'm looking for a procedure how I can get the userid of a Portal-user in Web Dynpro ABAP which is running inside an iView ?
    In BSP I used iView application parameter user_id and in the BSP the event handler for data retrieval with:
    userid = runtime->server->request->get_form_field( 'userid' ).
    Found a lot of entries how to do it in Java but no one for WDA ?
    Thanks in advance
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
    Actualy it is not so trivial. You have some options:
    1) In case user_id is parameter of iView you can read URL parameter like described here Webdynpro ABAP url-parameters
    2) In case user_id is not iView parameter you can use usuall ABAP <i>sy-uname</i> system variable.
    But pay attantion that it is not really EP user. Here we have 2 options: user mapping and SSO. In case of user mapping <i>sy-uname</i> will contain R/3 user which is mapped to EP user. In case of SSO <i>sy-uname</i> will contain same user name like in EP, because by using SSO user must ne the same on issuing and accepting systems.
    Best regards, Maksim Rashchynski.

    WebDynpro     *
    1     Do not implement Data intensive operations in UI layer
    2     Avoid database selects in the WebDynpro code.Use the corresponding BAPIs ,Methods
    3     Are ABAP OO Classes like Assistance class are being used for application coding ?

    Web Dynpro Architecture
    Definition
    Web Dynpro is the SAP NetWeaver programming model for user interfaces (UIs).
    The Web Dynpro model is based on the Model View Controller paradigm, and has the
    following features that build on the classic dynpro model:
    ? Clear separation of business logic and display logic
    ? Uniform metamodel for all types of user interfaces
    ? Execution on a number of client platforms.
    ? Extensive platform independence of interfaces
    Structure
    Metamodel Concept
    Web Dynpro provides support for developing Web representation of a business application.
    You use specific tools to describe the properties of a Web Dynpro application in the form of
    Web Dynpro metadata. The necessary source code is then generated automatically and
    executed at runtime. In addition to the events offered by the framework, you can also define
    your own events for a Web Dynpro application. However, the event handling must always be
    programmed in separate source code areas which are executed automatically when the event
    is triggered at runtime.
    In Web Dynpro, each user interface is always made up of the same basic elements. These
    elements of the metamodel can be statically declared using Web Dynpro tools.
    It is also possible to implement elements of the metamodel at runtime and to change them or
    reintegrate them at runtime. Using these implementations, you can make any changes or
    enhancements to a user interface that has been created by declarative methods by
    generating new interface structures at runtime.
    This means that you can combine declarative processes and the implementation of source
    code.
    Graphical Development Tools
    To support this declarative concept, both the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio and the
    ABAP Workbench contain a range of Web Dynpro tools. You can therefore generate a large
    proportion of a Web Dynpro application using the tools provided, without having to create your
    own source code. This applies to the following parts of the application:
    ? Data flow between the front end and back end
    ? Layout of the user interface
    ? Properties of user interface elements
    The Web Dynpro tools enable you to create source text areas manually within generated
    source texts. These areas are not changed if the source code is regenerated.
    Separation of Business and Application Logic
    Using Web Dynpro enables a clear separation of business logic and display logic. A Web
    Dynpro application runs on the front end and has local or remote access to the back end
    system via a service. This means that the display logic is contained in the Web Dynpro
    application, while the business logic and the persistence of the business objects run in the
    back end system. The following options are currently available for connecting Web Dynpro
    applications and the back-end system:
    ? An interface generated using adaptive RFC, through which BAPIs of an SAP system
    can be called
    ? An interface for calling Web services
    ? A self-generated interface
    The source code required for connecting the Web Dynpro application can be generated
    from a UML definition of the Web Dynpro interface. A UML definition can be imported
    into the Web Dynpro tools as an XML file.
    Conversion of the Model-View-Controller
    Conversion of the Model-View-Controller Programming Model
    Every Web Dynpro application is structured according to the Model View Controller
    programming model:
    ? The model forms the interface to the back end system and thus enables the
    Web Dynpro application access to data.
    ? The view is responsible for the representation of the data in the browser.
    ? The controller lies between the view and the model. The controller formats
    the model data to be displayed in the view, processes the user entries made by the
    user, and returns them to the model.

  • F4 Value Help on Adobe Interactive Form with Web Dynpro ABAP

    Hello,
    I have created an Interactive Form with ZCI type.
    I placed a text field MATNR on the form.
    Then I placed a Native WD UI element 'Value Help' as mentioned in the below link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/42/fb2fe500553ee4e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm
    This form was then embeded into Web Dynpro ABAP view.
    The problem is that when I click on the F4 button, nothing happens.
    Is anything else needs to be done?
    Thanks
    Sagar

    Hi Amol,
    After binding the Context variable in the view, and in the Adobe Layout Designer from the Library go to WebDynpro Native Tab and drag and drop the Value Help and for this automatically JavaScript is being generated, go that script and edit the line
    Var fieldname = "yourfieldname";
    Note: Don't forget to link the context attribute to search help. ie. in the context properties of the attributes select the input help mode as dictionary search help and specify the name of the search help present in data dictionary.
    And now go to Utilities and click on u201CInsert Web Dynpro Scriptu201D.
    Also make sure that you specify the Layout as ZCI Layout in the Propertioes of the Adobe Form.
    Ragards,
    Amol Patil.

  • [Integration] Web Dynpro ABAP calling Flex in Popup (without Flash Islands)

    Hi,
    We do not intend to install Enhancement Package 1 in a near future.
    Nevertheless, we do have requirements where Flex should be integrated with Web Dynpro ABAP (Flex components embedded or 'attached' to Web Dynpro ABAP applications).
    I would like to open a popup showing a Flex component. Then, the user validates and the Web DYnpro ABAP application is resumed. All this integrated within EP 7.0.
    What, according to you, would be the most effective combination :
    - Suspend / Resume plug
    - Server-side cookies
    - iFrame (although it is deprecated)
    Given what I have read so far, it seems encapsulating the .swf within a BSP application would be the best shot. Could it be possible to get rid of this 'additional layer' ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Guillaume

    Web Dynpro ABAP
    Define a suspend and a resume plug.
    BSP
    Retrieve the parameters sent by WDA either by AUTO attributes or the following code
    CONSTANTS: c_resume_name          TYPE string  VALUE `sap-wd-resumeurl`.
    DATA: lt_tihttpnvp                TYPE tihttpnvp.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs_httpnvp>       LIKE LINE OF lt_tihttpnvp,
                   <fs_dept_magasin>  LIKE LINE OF t_dept_magasins.
    ** Lecture des paramètres envoyés (par le WD ABAP)
    CALL METHOD request->get_form_fields
      CHANGING
        fields = lt_tihttpnvp.
    READ TABLE lt_tihttpnvp ASSIGNING <fs_httpnvp> WITH KEY name = c_resume_name.
    IF sy-subrc = 0.
      e_url = <fs_httpnvp>-value.
    ENDIF.
    Flex
    To return to the Web DYnpro ABAP, call a Javascript function within the BSP using this kind of code :
    jsReturn = ExternalInterface.call("sendBackToSAP", selectedDepartmentsParam, orderParam);
    BSP
    First, to react to the user action in the Flex component, define a Javascript function in the
          function sendBackToSAP(departements, ordre) {
             fireServerEvent(departements, ordre);
             return("Done");
    To fire a server-event (in order for BSP to call the WDA resume plug), I use this declaration :
    <!--  Event used by the Javascript to trigger OnInputProcessing so as to create
                  the server-side cookie -->
           <bsp:htmlbEvent name= "fireServerEvent"
                           id  = "flexAction"
                           p1  = "departements"
                           p2  = "ordre"></bsp:htmlbEvent>
    Last, I simply call the URL that the WDA gives me first :
    navigation->goto_page( e_url ).
    If people are interested in a more detailed presentation, feel free to reply to this post, and I will write a blog about this. Nevertheless, it should become pretty obsolete with the Flash Islands release...
