Decline an incoming call

As a long term apple iphone user i have always wanted the feature to be able to simply decline a phone call. In this day and age it should be simple to swipe to the left to reject an incoming call. In find this is a necessary feature and should be added. I have been plagued by international calls and i need a way to decline the call without sending a message in return or answering first. I hope im not the first to question the lack of this option. i would very much like to see it in the next update.

Sounds like a good idea. Send feedback to Apple at this link:

  • Why the 'decline' option not present in the lock screen for an incoming call in ios7?

Why is there no call decline option on the lock screen for an incoming call in IOS7??

Yeah... One workaround is double-click the lock button. But still it's stupid. The "Decline" is available only when screen in 'unlocked'. They think, you only need the to decline only when you are busy doing something on the iPhone, else need not to decline the call i.e. when your screen is locked.
WTH, is my phone the only thing in the world, I could be busy with to decline??

  • In incoming call, why iphone 4S (ios 7.04) sometimes gives option to decline the call and sometimes not?

In incoming call, why iphone 4S (ios 7.04) sometimes gives option to decline the call and sometimes not?

    Try to do this experience.
Ask a person with a block phone to call you and the option to reject doesn´t appear. Try with a non-blocked phone and the option of reject appears.
    I think it´s an iOS 7 problem.

  • What happened to the "DECLINE" button for incoming calls?  All I get is Remind Me, Message and Slide to Answer.  Where is the RED DECLINE button?

iOS7...incoming calls missing RED Decline button?  Where did it go?  All I get is Remind Me, Message....and Slide to Answer on the bottom.

@gkovach - Have you tried resetting your phone, Hold both Home and Power buttons down until the Apple logo appears and wait for phone to reset itself.
If this doesn't help you can try resetting all settings, Settings => General => Reset => Reset All Settings.  You won't lose any apps, data, music, photos, etc.  But you will have to go back in and reset all the setting that you changed from the factory defaults.

  • No Decline button for incoming calls

When I receive incoming calls there is no Decline button. How so I make this show up?
    Thanks,
    Adam

It does not solve the problem for me. I liked to decline people and instantly call them back (cause I have bonus calls) by simply sliding their name in the missed call that appeared right affter I declined.
Now if I decline by double tapping the power button the missed call does now show up on the notification screen, so I have to unlock, go to my contacts and call back... Do I need to say this is terribly worst???

  • I can't decline incoming call from my iphone display

    Dear friends,
I'm using iPhone 6 but I can't decline incoming call from my iphone display. I saw YouTube video  to view reject/ decline incoming call I need to press power button twice. But seems odd to me. So now what I'll do or if there is no option for that then what'll Apple do?

The Decline button will only appear if the phone is unlocked. If the phone is locked when you receive a call, the only option is to double-tap the sleep/wake button to send it directly to voicemail. If you tap the button once, it will silence the call, but it will continue the ring cycle before going to voicemail. If the screen is awake, then you will see the Decline button. • How do I get FaceTime for Mac to stop ringing after answering an incoming call on my iPhone?

I have iPhone Cellular Calls enabled for iPhone and FaceTime and am able to make and receive calls splendidly with FaceTime. However, when I answer an incoming call on my iPhone, FaceTime will not stop ringing. This is a significant, loud, annoying issue for me, my caller, and everyone in my house. It rings for eternity, long after the call has ended, until the call notification on my Mac is either accepted or declined. FaceTime needs to know when the call is answered on another device and stop ringing. Is there any solution for this?

    This works for me:
To turn off Phone Calling on your iPad or iPod Touch, go to FaceTime under Settings and switch off iPhone Cellular Calls. On your Mac, open the FaceTime app, then go to Preferences under FaceTime, and tap Settings. From there, switch off the iPhone Cellular Calls option.
    Found it here:http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/131449-why-s-my-mac-taking-my-iphone-calls-how-t o-turn-off-apple-continuity
I realise it doesn't quite solve the issue of FaceTime "knowing" whether the call has already been answered on another device, which I agree is a flaw. But in my case, I don't want to receive regular phone calls on my Mac at any time. Only the very rare FaceTime call. So turning off cellular calls is a solution of sorts.

Calls can be declined by hitting the sleep/wake button twice quickly.
Decline a call and send it directly to voicemail. Do one of the following:

  • Voicemail message doesn't pick up incoming call.

I have version 6.13 of Skype.
I call my number.  The computer responds and I have the option to Accept or Decline.  I let it ring.  Skype then stops at 20 seconds and does nothing else.  My phone keeps ringing and ringing and my voicemail doesn't pick up.
I call again.  The computer responds and I have the option to Accept or Decline.  I select Decline.  Skype stops ringing.  My phone keeps ringing and ringing and my voicemail doesn't pick up.
My voicemail is set up to answer after 20 seconds.  It is also set up for voicemail to pick up if I am already in a call and/or if I reject an incoming call.
I use my phone for work and I need for voicemail to pick up, so I can call back and they don't think I am ignoring them!
I don't have call forwarding turned on or "follow me" configured (whatever that means).
Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated!

I've been having the same problem for ages, but today finally resolved it.
Warning: I use a Mac, but could not find a thread for a Mac Skype community - so I hope what I did helps all of you who are having problems with Voice Mail.
This is what I did: I set my online status to ONLINE, which on the Mac is an icon in the menu bar at the top of the screen (normally I set my status to INVISIBLE when I'm online). I also made sure in my preferences that calls will be sent to voice mail. After setting my status to ONLINE, the voice mail picked up after 4 rings, just like it used to before all the "improvements" to the app.
I also found that my voice mail message was truncated at the beginning. When I re-recorded it, it took an extra moment for the record function to actually kick in, so I had to fuss with it for awhile before getting a satisfactory recording.
    I hope this helps!

  • For incoming calls ringtone not working

My incoming calls are only identifiable with display to ANSWER or DECLINE.   I. Can get vibrate to work  but ringtones not working.  I am missing many calls
because of no ring.  I did shut down my Bluetooth earpiece so unsure what happened.

These are a couple of articles that might help.

Try a reset first then if that does not work, you might want to restore.

  • Dismiss incoming calls

    Helloo
How to dismiss an incoming call in Iphone 4s when its locked .Please help as I am a new user
    Thanks,
    Khalid

Thank you for your reply. This is my first iPhone, I bought it six weeks ago and I can assure you it is not, and never has been, jailbroken (I'm assuming a brand new iPhone never leaves an Apple Store jailbroken, or course ). The other phone I tested to compare is an iPhone 4 (mine is a 4S) of a friend of mine and yes, it has been jailbroken, but it isn't anymore. I'm considering the possibility that there some leftovers remained (is that possible?). But there is one thing that really got me thinking. I found out about this function on MY iPhone. Accidentally, when I declined a call, a menu of predefined text messages appeared for me to choose. I tried one and the message wasn't sent. I tried a few times and after a while the messages stopped being shown. Is it possible that another app (like Viber, for example) was presenting that option?

  • Incoming call options

    Hi
Apologies if this has already been covered.
I would like to know why you sometimes have the additional options 'Remind me later' and 'Send message' when receiving an incoming call
    and sometimes you don't.
If I only get 'Decline' and 'Accept', I am forced to just press the top button if I cannot receive the call at the time.
The additional options are very useful.
    Many thanks
    Steve

I just learned today from the iPhone iOS 7 manual that it depends if your phone is asleep or active.
If it is active, then you are given the choice of Accepting, Declining, or something else.
If it is asleep (inactive) then you are only given the choice of swiping to accept the call.  But if you have read the manual, then you know that you must quickly press the "sleep" button twice to decline the call.
The unsolicited callers have set their robots to go through a long list of cell phone numbers.  Sometimes a specific number is given, and you can find on Google that the number is an outgoing call center.  Sometimes the screen shows something like unidentified caller.
It is a real nuisance to be outside on a bright day with gloves on with the phone buried in an inside pocket when one of these callers attacks.  Get the phone out!  Try to see who the call is from.  Take off a glove to click the sleep switch twice.
Yep!  The Macintosh WAS the computer for the rest of us!

  • Sending an incoming caller a message on iOS7.

How do I send a message to an incoming caller on iOS7 while my phone is locked? That is, I want to decline the call and send the person a message, but it doesn't appear as though iOS 7 will allow me to do so.  While my phone is locked, I only have the "Swipe to answer" option or the "Remind Later" option.

There is no keyboard shortcut to send message.
    Only via trackwheel click.

  • Ignoring incoming calls

When my phone is in sleep mode and I get an incoming call, is there an ignore feature or trick I can use to ignore the call and stop it from ringing? I have the feature to ignore if I'm using the phone and it rings but not when it is in sleep mode. I have the new 3G model.
    Thank you

So, what if this feature doesn't work??? I mean I've read on the Apple support page, that pressing the Hold button twice will decline the call and a 2 seconds' hold of the Mic button on the headset will do that too... But all that works for my iPhone 2G (firmware 2.1) is the Mic trick, the other one sends the phone to full silence, though still receiving the call. Did anyone see something like this? I know for sure that the Hold button trick works just fine on a 3G iPhone with firmware 2.2. Help?! pleease
