Declined events show up anyway...

"show declined events" doesn't work in my iPhone 4S (ios7). Declined events show up anyway. How can I solve this?

After a lot of trouble, I finally found a solution that worked for me! This issue first came up with the iOS 6 update. I found a supposed solution but ran into more problems. Here's what I did:
Find the Facebook Event page on your COMPUTER BROWSER (if it's private, go to the event on your iPhone Calendar and scroll down. Click "View on Facebook" and copy the link.)
On the right, you'll see an icon with three dots. Click that and select "Remove me from the Guest List" (this is not possible on the iPhone app) Selecting "Not Going" is not enough - you must remove the event.
Now go to Settings on your iPhone. Scroll down and click on Facebook. Under "Allow these apps to your account," turn OFF Calendars and then back on.*
*When I first tried this, the Settings app just froze. I could click Home and pull down Notifications, but I couldn't move the Settings app at all. I closed Settings and tried a couple of times with no results. If this happens to you or step 2 doesn't do the trick, here's what I did that finally worked:
Uninstall the Facebook app on your iPhone
Turn off your iPhone and back on
Make sure you've removed yourself from the guest list on the Facebook event
Check the settings for Facebook under the Settings application (Facebook will still be listed even though you don't have it installed) and make sure the Calendars toggle is ON
Reinstall Facebook
This worked for me. Hopefully this helps! Let me know.

  • Calendar:Declined events show up as accepted in iCloud

    Hello,
I use Mountain Lion (problem is the same in Lion). When I decline an event invitation in calendar, it gets a grey icon and in the details I can see that I declined the event. I don't get any alarms either. So far so good. But on my iPhone and because I shared the calendar with my wife also on her iPhone the event shows with the color of the calendar, as if I accepted. In the details I see that I declined...I could accept the wrong color but I get alarms for those events too! Also on icloud.com the color of the events is wrong (blue in my case)...
Anybody else has this problem? Any suggestions? Is it a bug?

Actually, upon further poking around -- I think it is not so much a bug as an (important) missing feature:
In iCal on MacOS, under the "View" menu, there is an option to show or to hide declined events.  So I-- and I guess you and I think many people-- choose sensible to hide declined events.  (*Why do I want to fill my calendar with things I am not doing?)
But iOS does not offer this option; and iOS seems to default to "show declined events".  And for this reason, our iOS devices do not show the same content as our desktop devices.  And this makes it feel, from a user point of view, like it is broken -- because functionally, it is broken.
(*Note that this seems to be a fairly old issue: in addition to the links above, there are also posts on this topic going back to users of mobileme -- and none of the threads have any comment from Apple, which is disappointing as attention to usability is generally the distinguishing feature of their products...)

  • Why are declined events NOT showing on iPhone iOS7 (setting is marked to "on")

Apparently I and some of my colleagues are having the OPPOSITE issue from most.
We are syncing with Google Calendar.
We have set "Show Declined Events" to ON
Declined Events are NOT showing on iCal.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    Richey

I noticed this too. I have a Google Apps for Business account through work.
This happens when I have Gmail configured as ActiveSync. But when using CalDAV - it isn't a problem. Does anyone have a solution or more informaiton on this topic?

  • Declined Facebook Events Showing in iOS Calendar

    Hi
Ive noticed recently that Facebook Events that Ive declined show up in the iOS Calendar on my iPhone 5. Ive went into Calendars and Show Declined Events is switched off.
The strange thing is they don't show in iCal on my iMac which is also linked to my Facebook account.
Any ideas how I can resolve this irritating issue?
    Thanks
    Baz

    I second this solution
This was a long standing problem for me (even pre-ios7 maybe), it's a shame i've never come across a method so banal like this a perfect, easy way.
Thanks a lot Timothy, now i can switch fb calendars back on.

  • Hide Declined Events on iOS Devices

I use MobileMe to sync calendars between iCal 5.0 and both an iPhone 4 and iPad 2. When I delete and event from my calendar in iCal it dissappears unless I choose to "Show Decline Events". Sadly though, the event does not dissappear from my iOS devices...
Silimarly, the "declined" event is visible in MobileMe's web-hosted calendar, whetehr I choose to "Show Declined Events" or not.
How can I hide these declined events from being visible in iOS? Or alternatively, how can I truly DELETE the event so it's truly gone from all synced calendars?
    THANKS IN ADVANCE!
    A.

Wonder if you made any progress on this?

  • Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?

Hi, Im not a frequent forum poster, as most of my questions can be found already answered on them!
This is a question Ive had for a long time and it amazes me that no-one else seems to ask it. I check at each OS upgrade but its never there...
Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?
I was able to do this years ago in MS Outlook, and utilized it all the time when I needed to push things back, now I have to open the event and select an new date in the drop-down calendar for each & every event I want to move to a new month at the end of the month.
If its definitely not possible, how to you ask apple to consider including it - it doesnt seem like a particularly difficult task.
    Thankyou
    Andrew.

    Andrew,
Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?
No, but you can use cut/paste. Cut (⌘X) the event, then click on the week where you want to move the event, and Paste (⌘V).

  • Bug: Repeating Google Calendar Events Show Up On The Wrong Days

I've created a Google Calendar event that repeats "Daily," every two days, from 6:00pm to 6:30pm. It shows up fine in my Google Calendar, but the Pre's Calendar puts them on the wrong days. For example, the repeating event that should be scheduled for today shows up tomorrow (offset by +1 day).
I tried turning off network timezones, but the bug remains.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If this is a bug, how can I submit it to Palm?
    Thanks!
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)
    Some new data:
If I create the repeating event on my Pre, rather than via Google, it shows up on the Pre correctly. However, it only shows up for one day via Google (today); the event is not repeated. When I edit the event in Google, it's setup correctly. I tried saving the event from there, but it doesn't cause Google to recognize it should repeat.
    Very frustrating.
    Even more new data:
Created yet another event via my Pre instead of via Google. This time Google picked up the correct repeat pattern, and my Pre now shows it on the correct days.
Calendar sync needs serious work, based on my experience. I have issues with Facebook events showing up an hour later than they should, too. Dunno if this has been fixed yet.
    New Data (01/28/2010)
Not sure why, but the above success reverted back to being off by one day; temporary success only.

Hi, another quick question: you say you turned off network timezones.... did you make sure that the (now manually set) timezone is correct?
Sounds similar to other issues related to the timezone being off, but usually the appointments were off by hours... not day(s).  However if your timezone is set to something really odd and the event you're creating is around midnight (again depends on a few things here), then MAYBE this is it.
If it isn't, one of the support guys will have to chat with you privately about possibly collecting logs, getting more granular details, etc.

  • New events in iCal are entered on my iMac.  These events pass through correctly to my other computers and iPhone.  However, each new event shows up twice on my iPads.  The clutter is distracting.  Anyone have suggestion as to correcting this annoyance?

  • Ical events showing in week view as an hour later than the details in event

    Hi all,
I've just been upgrading my ical / mobileme and I can't figure this out. All time zones are set to London-UK. If I look up appointments in week view all my calendars are colour coded. One particular calendar appears 1hr late with appointments. When I go into the details of this even it show correct time. For example. Kids school looks like it's in for 9:50 in week view but when I go into appointment it reads the correct time of 08:50?
    Any ideas. Thanks

  • Ical all day events show over 2 days during standard time (Nov-Apr)

Any all day event (either a holiday or an event I have repeating every year like a birthday) I have on my calender during standard time (from November to April) shows over a two day period.
For example, Christmas Eve shows up on Dec. 23 and 24.
I have tried syncing with time zone support on and off. I have tried using the same time zone in a different hemisphere. I had this problem last year and again this year. Once we switch to daylight savings the event show correctly.
    Any suggestions?

Thanks for the link--seems I'll just have to deal with the Palm/iCal calendaring anomalies. Do these "representation disconnects" have anything to do with the weird behavior of my iCal calendars, now that I've synced my palm data to iCal? Immediately after the original Palm/iCal sync, the calendars came up in iCal with no problem. Once I quit iCal, however, and then re-opened it, the list of calendars had disappeared from the "Calendars" pane to the left of the grid, and all of the events had disappeared as well.
As someone reported elsewhere in this forum, changing the viewing mode (day, week or month) causes the events themselves to reappear, but the "Calendars" pane remains blank.
I had hoped to ditch palm desktop and streamline my calendar /contact--computer/iPhone syncing, but iCal's odd behavior is making me question whether or not it is stable enough to fully rely on.
Is there anything that will make the calendars and events perform more reliably?

  • Get decline event in VSTO

We need to handle decline event for outlook add-in.
But on decline an appointment, cancel event is getting executed as appointment is moved to delete folder from the default folder.
I tried solution given in the below link
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25619796/capturing-accept-decline-propose-new-time-event-in-outlook-add-in-c-sharp-for-me
But using this I can obtain event only for Decline – DoNotSendResponse and also it is working only if user opens the appointment and declines it from the ribbon bar.
We want to handle decline event from all the places which are
Appointment => Right click => Decline
    Invitation mail => Decline
Open appointment => Ribbon => Decline
And event should be triggered for all the child scenarios which are
Decline – Edit Response before send
    Decline – Send response now
Decline – Do not send response
We want to track Decline as separate event because we have different code for Cancel\Delete events.
Is there any way By which we can get to know in event 'apptItem_BeforeDelete' or 'mapi12Event2.BeforeItemMove'
whether it is declined or cancelled?
    Regards

    Hello Neeraj,
    Try to handle the
    PropertyChange and
CustomPropertyChange events of Outlook items. The first one is fired
when an explicit built-in property (for example, Subject)
of an instance of the parent object is changed. The
CustomPropertyChange event is fired when a custom property of an item (which is an instance of the parent object) is changed.
Also you may consider repurposing the Ribbon UI controls. See
Temporarily Repurpose Commands on the Office Fluent Ribbon for more information.

  • Why do some events show date and time in ical?

Some events show the date and time, others show only the time. I cannot find a setting in preferences to have it be one way or another. I do enter events both on the computer and also my iphone 4s, but that doesn't seem to be the difference.

  • Can't install, get error message that says "The website declined to show this page"

I've been using Firefox for years now, but recently I had some problems with my computer and had to re-install Windows. I am now running Windows 8.1. I can't install Firefox now. It's very strange. When I attempt to install, I get an error message that says, "The website declined to show this webpage". It says the most likely cause is that the website requires you to log in. I have never experienced this issue before and like I said, I've been using Firefox for years. My anti-virus software found that the installation is accessing a web resource called DynamicOfferScreen, so I think the installation is corrupt. Can someone send me a link to download a clean installation?

You might have loaded an unofficial bundle advertised as a Firefox download...
Please start with the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program. (Use the charms bar search box if necessary to find it.) Click the "Installed on" column heading to group by date and reveal what bundled items may have snuck in. Remove everything you do not know to be legit and valuable.
Next, in Firefox, review your extension and disable/remove anything unrecognized or questionable. if in doubt, disable. You can do that on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions.
Finally, after clearing those out, mop up with some of the scanning/cleaning programs listed in our support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
