Decoder ddts-100 found

Hey all, I just thought that you all might want to know that I found a website that has the decoder ddts-100 for sale. According to the site there are 67 in stock. http://www.thenerds.net/index.php?pa...de=2-3477390-2 this is the website to go straight to the decoder.

Yes and Yes. I've found that it sounds better though to simply copy the front channels to the rear, which neither of those matrix modes will do. Your best bet though is to get a sound card that does dolby digital li've encoding such as the auzentech xplosion or ht omega striker.

  • Creative Decoder DDTS 100,

    Hello,
I.m using a creative decoder DDTS 100. When i switch on the decoder i set the volume, in which mode it should be, the volume of center and rear speakers. My problem over here when i switch off and switch on the decoder it comes to the default setting. What i want is my settings needed to be saved each time time i switch off and should come up with the same setting when i power on. Please provide me with a solution for this.
    Thank you.

    hi,

i dont know much about them and not sure if all componenets are there, the box it was in had a piture on the front of the actual decoder and remote, i have both those and a power lead, box and instructions, it mentions here and there in the intructions about a switch box, which i do no have but can look again for it.

  • Creative Decoder DDTS-100 parts list ??

'Creative Decoder DDTS-100 parts list mspecifially the value for the capacitor "C06 "? this one is at the front of the unit.
or if any one still has a working DDTS-100, and they don't mind taking it apart to read the value of this cap, that would also work as well.
also, maybe? some one could also help me with the issue i have. regardless of the source, both headphone jacks on the front work as they should, the issue is with the audio outputs on the back, center/sub, rears , and the front right, no sound output, the front left, has sound output but it is very faint only can be heard when all volumes are set to max. could this be releated to the possible missing capacitor, C06 ? or could this be related to something internal, like one of the wire connectors that connect each board to each other ?
ANY help would be awesome, thanks :-)

  • Connecting to my T6060 5.1 speakers with a DVD player thru Decoder DDTS-100

Hi, I have a DVD player which has 2.1 audio output (left and right), a coaxial and an optical audio output. Can you tell me how to connect the creative T6060 (5.1) speakers with the DVD player. Can I connect the speaker with the DVD player with the decoder DDTS-100 to get 5.1 effect. Will the speakers would be working. Thanks,Jwell

Your speakers should have a cable with 3 plugs on the end (orange, green and black). That plugs into the matching sockets on the DDTS-100, and you set the switch to 5.1. Then you need a lead to connect the dvd and its up to you if its coaxial or optical. For coaxial you can use pretty much any phono to phono lead, which you may already have. Ive got a feeling the DDTS-100 comes with one of each anyway. Thats all there is to it.

  • Decoder DDTS-100 upmix problem w analog inputs

I've had the decoder for some time and it works fine with everything else (real sorry to see it's discontinued!!). But now I have a digital radio (WorldSpace.com with a Tongshi DAMB-R receiver) which outputs 2 channel stereo analog output, and the decoder only plays subwoofer, left, rt, and center channels in my 5.1 system -- i.e. there's no rear sound at all. Other analog stereo inputs to the decoder give me fine 5.1 sound. It seems to me, naive at these things as I am, that any 2 channel analog stereo should upmix to 5.1 like any other. But perhaps there's some funny bandwidth compression going on in the radio so it won't upmix to 5.1 There aren't any settings on the radio to adjust things that I can see.
Any ideas on a workaround or at least illuminate me why this might be/is happening?
    Thanks,
    BaliDave

First of all, the ddts-100, is just a 6.1 decoder, and doesnt really support 7.1.
To get sound through every speaker, you will need to activate the 6.1-7.1 upmix, via the upmix switch on the back of the subwoofer. Then the rear right speaker should play when the rear left speaker does, as the 6.1-7.1 upmix, splits the 6.1 signal, and makes it 7.1.
Also, for movies with 5.1 sound, like Dolby Digital or DTS, you will need to set the switch to 5.1-7.1, unless you want to upmix the 5.1 sound to 6.1 via DTS ES Matrix or Dolby Digital EX.
When connected to the soundcard via digital spdif, you will only get stereo sound, as long as the sound isnt in digital AC3 (dolby digital/dts), so to get true surround sound in games, you will need to connect via the switch box with a analog connection and bypass the decoder, by setting the switch to "PC".
But when wathing DVD's, I recommend using the digital connection. (You can allways use the analog connection though, but if you do, the soundcard will do the decoding, and this can cause some quality loss at times.)

:smileyvery-happy:

  • Anyone bought the Gigaworks speakers + Decoder DDTS-100 Packa

    Hi everyone,
Anyone bought the Gigaworks speakers + Decoder DDTS-00 Package but dun need the decoder? Please let me know? I need a decoder badly.. thanks..
    Kekin

To connect your Soundblaster NX to your DDTS-100 decoder, and let the decoder handle the DD/DTS decoding, you have to connect a digital/optical/coax cable, from the digital output of the NX, to one of the digital inputs on the decoder.. Also make sure you have set the settings on the souncard, to "digital output only", so that the decoder can decode the encoded digital streams, sendt by the soundcard..
if you want to connect your soundcard to the decoder via analog cables, and let the soundcard do the decoding it self, you will need to use a 7.1 analog-audio cable, that comes with both the decoder and the speaker system. Connect the audio cable from the analog output on the soundcard, to the input "switch-box", and set the switch-box to "PC-audio". Also make sure you have connected your speakers to the "switch-box".

  • Difference between the Creative Decoder DDTS-100 & Creative Home Theater Connect DTS-

I've had the Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 5. System for years now for my PC with a Sound Blaster card, and I just got a MacBook.
    http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/promedia-ultra-5-.aspx
I've asked on the Klipsch message board about a digital decoder. I was recommended the Creative Decoder DDTS-00
    http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=4&subcategory=36&product=9468
but I also found the Creative Home Theater Connect DTS-60 for less money, any idea what the difference between the two would be?
    http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=&subcategory=6&product=49

No, for the reason mentionned in the stickies. But since you seems not knowing much on digital sound let me explain.
Digital means it's coded with 0 and , and therefor only cable is sufficient. You might know there is many sound formats for home cinema, like Dolby Digital and DTS. And a digital decoder need to be input a compatible sound stream to be able to decode it. Which means the soundcard MUST be able to convert it's output sound in one receiver compatible format.
Creative cards cannot do this kind of thing.
Another thing: current home theater sound format are limited to 6. (DD-EX and DTS-ES). So you would not be able to achieve more than 6..
THX isn't a sound format, only a certification. The THX calibrator is a must have component to correctly calibrate your speakers to enhance you sound experience.
If you need to have TRUE surround up to 7. channels you don't need to use digital connection because it's simply useless.

  • Creative Decoder DDTS-100 with Creative Inspire 5200

    Hi Guys,
Basically I wana hook up my PC ,XBOX and TV onto the Creative Inspire 5200.
I found out a couple of options , one of them is Creative DDTS-00.
Can anybody tell me if they are using this device , how good is it compared to a decoder amp by YAMAHA or SONY.
Which is a preferable solution ?
    Thanx in advance.
    Visu.

    DudeRighteous,
Have you tried adjusting the levels for the center down and the other speakers up? On the main volume knob press the select button and it will select a specific speaker set to adjust the volume for. Try changing these settings and see if that helps.

  • Problem with Decoder DDTS-100

    Hi,
I bought the decoder about 3 months back and it was working fine until I recently noticed that there was no output coming from my rear left speaker. I checked the connection and the speakers and found that the speakers was working perfectly as I use the speakers for my pc as well. Subsequently I ran the test function on the decoder and all my speakers produced sound except for the rear left speaker. Is there anyway to repair the decoder?

yup, by creative if you're under warranty. no point opening the product and diy repair when you just purchase it.

Hi, I just bought the DDTS, I have Klipsch THX 5.1 speakers and when I hook them up most of the sound is coming from the center channel. The other channels (front/rear) output sound but at a SUPER low level. Any ideas? Is it the Klipsch speakers?
