Decor 2200 Handsfree function
While using the handsfree facility on the Decor 2200 desk phone, we are experiencing regular cutouts. The other person can always be heard but often they can not hear us. I have read elsewhere (for another model) that handsfree works like a walkie talkie and can experience a brief interruption when switching conversation back and forth. This I find amazing on a modern telephone but still does not explain our fault. When cutouts happen, the other person can not hear us at all, sometimes for 5 or more seconds. This is not only irritating but completely unacceptable.
We have purchased two of these telephones this year as the model is otherwise excellent but we keep experiencing this problem. We have tested the phone by plugging it into another extension and still experience the same problem. I suppose it is possible there is a fault on the phone line or our domestic internal wiring.
I would like to know if there is any possible explanation or solution please.
Hi me705709,
Thanks for posting. Take a look here . Let me know if that helps.

This may help anyone with a problem with the 1571 indicator light on the Decor 2200 phone.
I bought the phone and found that the flashing green light that indicates you have a saved 1571 call was not working, so I returned it and got another. This had the same fault. Was it me? No, if you wait some time, the light does start to flash, it just does not flash immediately after receiving the call. Patience is a virtue..!!!It does tell you that in the user guide, at least 2 minutes before the light flashes.

My elderly Mum has bought herself a new phone with caller display so she knows who's ringing her but it doesn't seem to be working, we registered for Privacy at Home early on Thursday morning and it should have been active within 24 hours, I've checked she's got the full numbers entered (incl STD) and she has and I've looked in the manual to see if we've have to switch caller display on but can't find anything. Has anyone got any ideas?

Handsfree Functions not supported in the current hardware environment
Hello,
I have a generic Bluetooth headset and a PCMCIA bluetooth card that came with the newest Toshiba Drivers.
The card detects the headset, and other bluetooth devices but it won't allow me to pair the headset with my computer.
I am running XP with SP2 installed.
Can anyone help me? I would really like to get the headset working on my laptop?
Thanks a lot for any help,
JakeHi,
Did you tried to connect this headset with an other computer which has bluetooth? Maybe it can be possible that the headset had some problems?
Did you checked the website of the manufacturer of that headset and googled for that thing about some incompatibility issues?
Would be better to do this, maybe you can find out whats wrong with your devices..

E61 and CR-47 in-car handsfree issues
Compatability issues:
I've just installed the CR-47 handsfree holder for the E61 in my Mini and connected the antenna, replacing a previous holder for smaller 6100 pop port Nokia. However, now when the E61 is firmly in the holder it charges but when making a call does not automatically turn the radio off and go through the car speaker system etc, so you can't talk to the other caller. But if I put my old Nokia into the CR-47 it works beautifully.
Could there be a problem with the setup of my E61 which is preventing connection? It seems that the E61 cannot trigger the correct Pop-Port connector for routing through the car kit - very silly.
I'm afraid I don't know which car kit it is, but I do know that it was professionally fitted with cable runs through the structure of the car and all wired up to the in-car entertainment system etc.
There is also an indicator in the top righthand corner of the screen - a tray with an arrow pointing upwards. What does this mean, I can't find it in the manual?
I don't see how Nokia can sell this cradle for the E61 with a Pop-Port interface when it won't interact with the handsfree functions except for charging.
Thanks guys!It sounds like you have a cark-126 car kit which has old software and limited compatabillity, you will need to upgrade this to a ck-7w. you can identify a cark-126 if the pop port plug going into the bottom of the cradle is rubber, has no nokia makings & has small slits to the bottom.

Thanks guys!OK, it might not be the CARK-126. The Mini is 2002 registered so it could be a different kit. All I know is that the kit is all plugged in behind the CD player with the microphone coming out next to the drivers mirror.
Could it be another car kit?
Is there anything I can do to make it work at all?
Can I change the wiring?
Just seems like the E61 is unable to mute the system, but is able to charge and goes into car mode. Also, the other car kits that are compatable are bluetooth ones, so there is no need for the Pop-Port, so why have it except for charging!
I basically want to be able to use the Pop-Port system and have the E61 work the same way the 6100 does.Message Edited by peab1 on 10-Aug-2006

Go to Solution.Hi MotomanDK,
Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
With the information supplied, I can suggest that you first try performing a reset to the in car kit and also remove the Bluetooth connection from the device.
Once done try using the service. The issue you may have here is that not all Bluetooth devices are going to be able to work with the in car system, this is due to a number factors related mostly to Bluetooth profiles.
I hope this helps.

VM-605 won't function with Curve 8330 passworded and locked
With my Curve 8330 passworded and keyboard locked, the handsfree functions of the VM-605 fail to function. I push the button to initiate the function, the tone is heard, but the device fails. The Curve displays "unknown error" on screen. However, if I delete my password entirely, and yet leave the Curve keyboard locked, handsfree functions perform as expected. Is there a workaround for this? I don't necessarily want to leave my Curve unprotected.
should hear "power on" when you hold the front panel down after a bit.

if you format it as code, it might be readable
|>>>>>| r_po_nodel-netwr = r_po_nodel-price * r_ekpo-menge. | |
is where the overflow occurs.
I guess, this is a data problem, does not look like release-dependent.
Try to catch the error and output the data:
TRY.
r_po_nodel-netwr = r_po_nodel-price * r_ekpo-menge.
catch cx_root.
message E(nnn) 'error with' r_po_nodel-price r_ekpo-menge.
ENDTRY.
You can also check the dump for global data values when error occurred, this may give you a hint.

Hi all,
I'm having a peculiar problem.
I inherited a project saved in LabVIEW 8.6. The project must use of particular dll that was built a few years ago. The original developer and source code for this .dll are long gone. The very core logic exists, in the form of embedded C code, and that's it. The .dll is called through a Code Interface Node in LV 8.6 and this setup manages to "work". Howver, running the VI that calls this .dll in LV 2011 causes an "insta crash", as in, no "program has stopped responding". Error message pops up, then all LV windows close.
It's very similar to that described in here:
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/D84C9775ABD921CF8625772A005CA50C
but this KB says to try putting the amount of error handling to maximum. I tried that, but it didn't help.
Using the "Debug" option allows me to run the just-in-time debugger with CVI 2010, which then proceeds to say this:
Finally, I manage to get this out of it:
FATAL RUN-TIME ERROR: Unknown source position, thread id 0x000012D4: A non-debuggable thread caused a 'General Protection' fault at address 0x00000000.
I don't think that really helps at all, but it's there.
Here is the function prototype of the .dll:
void _inputPM@224(uint8_t arg1, uint16_t arg2, uint8_t arg3, float arg4, float arg5, float arg6, float arg7, float arg8, float arg9, float arg10, float arg11, float arg12, float arg13, float arg14, float arg15, float arg16, float arg17, uint16_t arg18, uint16_t arg19, uint16_t arg20, uint16_t arg21, uint16_t arg22, uint16_t arg23, uint16_t arg24, uint16_t arg25, uint16_t arg26, float arg27, float arg28, float arg29, float arg30, float arg31, float arg32, float arg33, float arg34, float arg35, float arg36, float arg37, float arg38, float arg39, float arg40, float arg41, float arg42, float arg43, float arg44, float arg45, float arg46, float arg47, uint16_t arg48, uint16_t arg49, uint16_t arg50, uint16_t arg51, uint16_t arg52, float arg53, float arg54, float arg55, float arg56);
(never seen a function take 50 input params like that (wouldn't you use a struct? array? something? But I digress, and I don't know anything about .dlls...))
I do have a ".lib" and a ".cdb" file with the same name as the .dll, but those also looks like some kind of compiled file.
I'm sure the answer I'm going to get is that there is no way of telling what's really going on without .dll source code. I'm hoping against hope that there may be another way or hack.
Any ideas? Thank you for you help.
Regards,
Mark G

Changing the call library node to stdcall (WINAPI) did the trick! No more crash. Thank you very much!
I haven't run LV2011 on windows XP, only on windows 7, so I don't know if that makes a dfference. But The call type makes no difference when using LV 8.6 on the same machine, however.
Now I've got to make the .DLL run corretly on a compact fieldpoint.... and avoid crashing IT.
Thank you for the help all!
Well, the DLL did work fine in LabVIEW 8.6 because earlier versions of LabVIEW automatically proceeded to change the calling convention to stdcall, if they noticed a function name decoration of @# (# = number of bytes passed on the stack) appended to the name. This is the default naming decoration for stdcall functions used by VisualC. However this decoration can be overwritten with linker switches, other compilers don't use them always in the same way, and most likely there are in the mean time compilers out there that can produce such decorations also for non stdcall calling convention. So this automagic trickery was removed from newer LabVIEW versions.
I do think it could be considered a bug in the code that upgrades LabVIEW VIs, that it uses the calling convention that is configuerd in the dialog, instead of the calling convention earlier LabVIEW versions used automagically, but it is an esoteric corner case.
What Compact Fieldpoint controller do you have? If it's anything newer than 20xx or 21xx forget it. The 22xx controllers use a PPC CPU and VxWorks operating system and can never get a Windows DLL to operate properly. If it is a 20xx controller it's still highly likely that DLL can not even get loaded into LabVIEW as it likely relies on other runtime libraries and possibly Win32 APIs not present in the Pharlap ETS runtime kernel used on those controllers.
There is a tool to check a DLL for incompatible imports that are not present on specific ETS RT systems. And this list summarizes the RT system used on the various NI controllers.

IconItemRenderer interactivity
Hi,
I'm using an iconItemRenderer in a mobile list. I have an icon and a decorator. So, a user can click the list item, the icon or the decorator. Does anyone know how to distinguish these three events? I can only listen to the click event but that goes for the whole itemRenderer.
I tried this:
iconDisplay.addEventListener( MouseEvent.CLICK, icon_clickHandler );
but no luck.
Any help will be appreciated
Thanks,
DanyIn the mean time, I found out that both iconDisplay and decoratorDisplay are BitmapImages which can't have event listeners.
I created this workaround.

I had two main reasons for replacing the head unit in my car; I wanted the RDS data and I wanted bluetooth connectivity for handsfree calling. I've purchased lots of Sony products in the past and I've always been happy with them. My main and secondary TV's are both Sony. I have a Sony DVD player and VCR (yea - I know - 'what's a VCR?') Late last year I bought a Sony digital camera - DSC-HX100V. They all seem well-designed and reliable. I'd read some of the complaints on-line about the XAV-72BT and some of the favorable reviews. I thought - 'how bad could it be? it's a Sony'.
I bought the XAV-72BT and installed it in my car. A lot of the features are well designed and work well. But a number of things have me asking; 'what were they thinking when they came up with that?'
I have a number of questions for the designers/software developers of this unit:
The RDS data is limited to 8 characters at a time. So getting the entire song title and artist can take quite a while. The driver has to keep glancing back at the display to avoid missing a piece of the data. This could certainly be called a distraction to the driver. There's an abundance of screen space; why limit the RDS data to 8
characters? Think about how many words in song titles or artist names are more than 8 characters. The preset display for each band includes space on each preset button for the frequency and 8 characters of RDS data. That data is updated on the currently selected station if it is one of the presets. But not on the other preset buttons. Perhaps this is why the RDS data on the main screen is limited to 8 characters. But what is the point of having
stale 8 character fragments of RDS data on the preset buttons?
The RDS data on the main display is covered by the preset buttons display. I guess this design choice was made because the RDS data for the active station is displayed on the preset button. But it's not as easy to read there as on the main display. Maybe that's why they made it green on the preset button. Green? Really.
The display includes an attenuate button ('ATT') when the preset buttons are displayed. The buttons can be removed from the tuner display by touching the screen at a non-button location and gestures can then be used to change between presets or to tune to the next station on the dial. But the 'ATT' button is also removed. This seems wrong too. It takes a few seconds for the preset buttons and the ATT button to reappear when the screen is tapped. This negates the convenience of the ATT button.
The user can also use a PTY button to tune to another station that broadcasts program material from a list of types. Interestingly, when using this mode the buttons are removed from the screen automatically after a few seconds. Why isn't this kind of option available when using the preset buttons?
There are two available 'visualizer' selections (wow - two!). I thought that visualizers responded to the audio being played. If these two do that I can't detect it.
When an audio CD is being played a cheesy musical note graphic appears on the right side of the screen. I suppose it seemed appropriate to put something there but if several options couldn't be available, the user should at least be able to turn this off.
Several years ago I purchased and installed a Kenwood single DIN unit for a different vehicle. The display was monochrome and of course much smaller. But it had quite a bit of flexibility in selecting what to display and where to display it. It had a simililar motorized panel to provide access to the CD and unfortunately the electro-
mechanical design was poor. It failed on its own (not through abuse or misuse). I had it fixed and not long after it failed again.
The sound from the XAV-72BT is terrific. The audio setup options are very good. My car had an OEM unit from Alpine but I was surprised how much better the Sony sounds. The handsfree functionality via bluetooth is great. I'm satisfied with the setup and usability.
The touchscreen response is a bit inconsistent and can be frustrating. I suppose I may buy the optional remote to avoid some of that (this is kind of a surrender I guess). I don't have an iPod and don't plan to get one so I can't comment on some of the complaints I've read about the slowness of the interface.
I think Sony could do a lot to improve this unit. Shame on them for releasing a product with obvious flaws like these. If the firmware in this unit cannot be upgraded by the user then shame on Sony again for not including this capability.
I'm kind of a minimalist. My vehicle has other LCD driver displays. At the very least I'd like to be able to select the background color to match the other displays (this means NOT from a limited list of colors).
This unit has a large screen. It just seems to me that the designers had no imagination when it came to providing the user with a
lot of flexibility in how that screen space should be used when listening to the tuner.
All in all I'm pretty disappointed with this unit. I'm even more disappointed that there is no indication that Sony has any intention to respond to the user complaints.
Tom
Bear DelewareThank you for your post and comments - I'm sorry to see you are disappointed with the XAV-72BT, we have forwarded your comments and observations to the relevant Sony team for investigation.

Ebuy now- Delivery not yet as promised
I had ordered a desktop phone through ebuynow from the skype website on the 13th Dec 2012. I have not received this as yet. I have left a support ticket query on ebuynow website, which they promised to get back to me within 24 hours, its already been 96 hours, so cant do anything except wait. The details:
AU-0435756 Futiro Luna USB Handset with Handsfree Function
ORDER DATE: 13 December 2012.
I presume, if they think themselves as a reputable company, then they should act like one and either deliver the product and do not charge for that or refund the money and also send a gift card. Thats what good companies do if they fail to live up on their customers expectations. SKYPE please keep less products but tie up with reliable companies. Would appreciate your timely response. I am not sure to whom to talk to - Skype or Ebuynow?I must have read this wrong then.

No rSAP = goodbye Apple
Well, with the arrival of my next car in a few months time, it's going to be goodbye Apple.
More and more car manufacturers are implementing enhanced mobile connectivity options in their models, for things like text messaging or Internet access and WiFi hotspots, but these systems require the rSAP protocol to connect to the phone, simple Bluetooth handsfree functionality isn't good enough.
Apple seem totally alone in their refusal to acknowledge or support this, presumably because it's a Nokia invention which their too proud to use on their devices.
This just isn't acceptable any more. How many people are going to specify these enhanced phone connectivity options on their new cars and then find their "premium" Apple iPhone doesn't support it?
Apparently Audi sales people have been specifically told by Audi UK to ask customers what phone they have and to inform them that the iPhone won't work with the new high-end connectivity systems.
So, when my new car arrives I'll have the option of doing without the enhanced functionality or doing without my iPhone. Much as I love the phone, if Apple can't be bothered to support this protocol then I'll be ditching it for someone who can.Just expressing my total frustration with Apple over this issue.
And it's not just Audi - most of the "premium" marques are starting to offer the same connectivity options, all using the rSAP protocol. They'll soon filter down to more "mainstream" car marques too.
We'll soon end up with most car manufacturers offering these systems, which will be supported by Android, Blackberry, Windows Mobile etc - basically everyone except Apple. -
TestStand pointeur en valeur retournée
Bonjour,
je dois utiliser une fonction dll standard, qui renvoie une chaine de caratctères : Prototype C : char * version();
Vu qu'il n'y a pas de possibilité de récupérer un pointeur dans une valeur retournée, comment peut-on récupérer la texte dans un appel de fonction TestStand ?
Merci pour votre aide.
Jean-Marie.
JMCe
Solved!
Go to Solution.TestStand does not currently support string return values because TestStand doesn't know how to deallocate the memory associated with the string. If you must call a function in a standard DLL that returns a string, you have a couple of options. Each of them requires you to write your own DLL.
1. Write a wrapper function in a DLL that calls the string function. Your wrapper DLL must link to the standard DLL. For example,
void VersionWrapper(char returnValue[], int bufferLength)
char *versionString = version();
if (versionString != NULL)
strncpy(returnValue, versionString, bufferLength);
// You must deallocate versionString here if necessary.
2. Call the string function in TestStand manually specifying the return value as an integer. Write a conversion function in a DLL that converts the integer to a char pointer. For example,
void ConvertIntToString(int returnValueFromTestStand, char returnValue[], int bufferLength)
const char *returnValueString = (const char *)returnValueFromTestStand;
if (returnValueString != NULL)
strncpy(returnValue, returnValueString , bufferLength);
// You must deallocate returnValueString here if necessary.
Note: If the string function in the standard DLL is exported with a C++ decorated name, the function will not appear in the function list in TestStand and you cannot use option 2.
