Yes. But use SQL statements for the drop!
alter database drop logfile group <number of the group to drop>;Don't worry, you can not drop groups with that command that are still needed by the system.
Besides, 10m is very small for log groups. Most DBAs would consider to increase the size from 100m to a higher value instead of decreasing the size.
Kind regards

  • Decrease the size of a series marker on a bar chart

I am trying to decrease the size of a square series marker on a bar chart in crystal reports.
Usually this can be achieved through the 'appearance' tab in the 'chart options' menu.
However as I have changed one of the series(bar) on the graph into a line, this no longer seems possible.
Is there a way around this?
    Thanks

    Hi Natalie
In order to decrease the size of a square series marker after changing the series into line, you can use Format Series Marker -> Border -> Thickness.
    Hope this helps!

  • Decreasing the size of PDF to archive.

    Hi
Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to decrease the size of a pdf file that is created for archiving purposes. I have had a couple of thoughts on it.
1)I read by changing the font to Acrobat base fonts would reduce size but dont really want to go changing all the fonts on the final output of the doc.
    2) Ensure no extra presentment targets are being compiled into mdf.
    3) Reduce any images etc inside the ifd.
If anyone has any other suggestions i would really appreciiate them
    Thanks.

Our users are not even aware that the form is being regenerated. They just click on the one they want and the underlying code knows to retrieve the original DAT file, change the job name to the one that results in a PDF being sent back to the user and places it on the server.
As far as the job name goes, it appears that since the MDF name is currently being used that in reality no job name is being provided (I think that is the case). Either that or the source of the DAT file is building the file that way. To get the customer name or account number then the source of the DAT files would have to be modified to do that.
Personally, it would definately be unmanageable if we used the MDF name as the job name because we not only use multiple MDFs per job but we have 100s of MDFs.
I don't know how many customers are involved but using that information as the job name could be cumbersome due to the potential number of job definitions that would be required.

I am trying to decrease the size of my aperature library on my MB Pro HD.  I used  file\ relocate master to move files to my External HD(EHD) and this worked.  However, the size of my MBP library has not decreased.  I do not want to delete the files on my MB Pro until I am confident Aperature can see the files on the EHD.  It looks like the relocate master fxn just copies the masters and data to another location.

Relocate master (or original in newer versions) does move and not copy the master file. Jut to make sure I just ram a test and moved some images out of the library to an external drive and they were definitely gone from the Aperture library.
If you look at the images in the library that you moved do they have the referenced file badge? If you run a filter on your library looking for referenced files do the images you relocated show up? If you select one of the images and do a Show in Finder what does it show? Finally if you select the images and do Locate Referenced files do they appear listed as being on the volume you put them on?
You could go into the library and look for the masters you moved to see if they are still there but if all the above show you they were relocated then I don;t think you will find them.
How are you checking the library size? Have you quit Aperture and restarted it (better would be to log out and log back in) and then checked the size? It is possible that some of that data is cached and won't get updated till you restart.
Finally you could do a library repair in case something got 'stuck'.

  • How to decrease the size of a table

    Hi ,
I have dropped a table on UI ... By default this table wont have any data .What i want that i should be able to decrease the size of table.
I want that we should be able to show only 4-5 rows and have a scroll bar if we have more records.

you need 16 pixel for each row, 14 pixel for the non-wrapped table header, and 16 pixel for the horizontal scroll bar, if it is displayed.
so for your case you need to display 5 rows
set the <b>inlineStyle</b> for your table from the property inspector to
    inlineStyle="height:110px;"
<b>Thank to Frank Nimphius for his book</b>

Can anyone explain what the 'other' storage consists of and how I can decrease the size please?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
"Other" refers to OS X files, caches, downloads, documents. See Other in this website > http://pondini.org/OSX/LionStorage.html
I would not worry about Other because they contain files that you need, but if you want to decrease the size, start deleting downloads and documents

  • Can we decrease the size of existing datafile?

    Hi,
can we decrease the size of existing datafile?
    Thanks,

It is a very nice script.
But it does not deal with something that appears to be being 'pushed' by some contributors (OK, one, really) to this forum as a suitable 'fix' for some performance problems: using multiple block sizes in one database. It's not surprising the script doesn't deal with this, though, because Tom Kyte has never particularly approved of using multiple blocksizes like that.
Being specific, the script at Ask Tom queries for the setting of db_block_size parameter and uses that to work out what a datafile can be shrunk to. If you have datafiles using non-standard block sizes, however, then that script will not work correctly for them.
It's always potentially dangerous making use of 5-year old scripts found on the internet, even somewhere as good as Ask Tom.
It's also a good demonstration as to why, for at least one reason, it's potentially dangerous following Mr. Burleson's advice on multiple block sizes.

  • How to decrease the size of image using a java peogram

    Hi All,
I want to decrease the size of an image from MB to KB. I have some images of size around 1MB to 3MB. While displaying all those images in the browser it is taking so much time to download all those and display. So I want to write a Java program to make a duplicate copies of those images, which are small in height and width and display those images in small size. Basically I need to display all the list of images as thumbnail view or list view with faster speed.
    Thanks in advance..
    Upendra P.

I read the documentation. There is no corresponding Image class. The other
classes are like BufferedImage and all.Yes BufferedImage sounds like what you want.
You could (1) Read the image (2) Obtain its dimensions and create a blank
scaled image (3) Draw a scaled version of the original image using the
Graphics2D obtained from the smaller one. (4) Save the smaller image.
The javax.util.ImageIO class will help with reading and writing the data and
Sun's Tutorial has a section on "2D Graphics".

  • How to decrease the size of H263 video

I want to generate a captured video to H263 format.
Now I am sucessful to generate it to the format. But the size of the generated file seems a bit large.
I think I can solve this problem by the means changing the parameters' value that is passed to the H263Format constructor.
But I don't know how to adjust these values because I don't know much about H263's parameters
Can someone do me the favor to tell me how to adjust the parameters below to decrease the video's size.
    Thx in advance
    H263Format
    public H263Format(java.awt.Dimension size,
                      int maxDataLength,
                      java.lang.Class dataType,
                      float frameRate,
                      int advancedPrediction,
                      int arithmeticCoding,
                      int errorCompensation,
                      int hrDB,
                      int pbFrames,
                      int unrestrictedVector)
Constructs an H263Format object with the specified attributes.
        Parameters:
size - A Dimension that specifies the frame size.
maxDataLength - The maximum size of the compressed data array.
dataType - The class type of the data.
frameRate - The frame rate of the video.
advancedPrediction - Specifies whether or not the H.263 advanced prediction capability (H.263 Annex F) is used.
arithmeticCoding - Specifies whether or not the H.263 arithmetic coding capability (H.263 Annex E) is used.
errorCompensation - Specifies whether or not the H.263 error compensation capability is used.
hrDB - Specifies the H.263 Hypothetical Reference decoder buffer.
pbFrames - Specifies whether or not the H.263 PB Frames capability (H.263 Annex G) is used.
unrestrictedVector - Specifies whether or not the H.263 unrestricted motion vector capability (H.263 Annex D) is used.

Usually you would have the video in other format diferent from h263, so you have to encode it with a processor. You must configure a processor and set the format from the video track to h263. Dont use the larger constructor, use simply:
    videotrackcontrol.setFormat(new VideoFormat(VideoFormat.H263));
Then realize and start the processor. Take care with the syncronize.
But you will need that the datasource of the processor has your preferred size before create it. And notice not all sizes are compatible with h263.

  • How to decrease the size of an Image in iAD

    Hello, there!
I am trying to producer a new slide where I can write text in iAD.
I have problems with it though and can you please tell me how to add new slides, where I can either write text or add new objects or assets?
Also when I try to use the CAROUSEL, I can only put it there, but once I put the asset image on it, it doesnt work - I can't place the image in the center of each boxe and it doesn't go full screen once I click on on it through my iPod Touch (5th Generation).
Please answer me those questions and I would be very happy indeed

You may want to use Image > Image size... and dial in the sizes you want.
Set your units to mm in the dialog. Turn off resample and you can adjust the final print size.
What I am showing you is called "scaling", changing the print size without throwing out pixels as resample would do. Your image is  intact. This is from CS6, but it should be about the same in CS5.

  • How to decrease the size of an image (CS5)?

I need help with how to reduce the size of an image to fit various smaller sizes.  E.g. 135 x 380mm, 254 x254mm etc mounted/matted. Therefore, the image must be made smaller than these sizes without losing quality and any part of the image. I am unable to crop to achieve these sizes since I need the full image. These photos were taken by using a Canon D450 camera and in both RAW & JPEG.
    Your help is much appreciated.

  • Decreasing the size of a logo to avoid blurring

Hi I have designed a logo in Illustrator, and have all the fonts created to outlines. I have been asked to send the logo to a company that is going to display it on their site and brochure in 2 formats (jpg for the web and eps for print)
The problem I have is when I save it as a jpeg it seems to blur at small sizes even at the highest quality ( as it will only be a small image on the website)
    Any help greatly appreciated
    Thanks

    >
"she has asked for a minimum width of 200px..."
I'll assume you understand that the EPS version won't be encumbered by an absolute width value in terms of pixels. The EPS/vector version can be resized at will so that it will fill the space necessary for proper printing at the desired resolution. Ignoring for a minute that it'd be better to provide the logotype along with the fonts [which haven't been converted to outlines]...let's focus on the web version of the image first. We can return to the print version later, if you want.
We still need some clarification for what's required for the web jpg.
    Did she specify a
    maximum
    pixel size?
As displayed on your site, the width from the beginning of the "B" in Burnt to the far right side of "provider", I measure about 338 px. Measuring only the "Burnt Stew" I come up with about 221 px.
I guesstimate the size of the type to the right of the Apple dingbats to be about 7 pt, give or take.
If you want to shrink the entire thing down to 200 px, that's a reduction to about 59% of its current size. Therefor, that approximately 7 pt. text would be further reduced to an impractical and all-but-illegible-online 4 pt. size.
So you need to find outor tell usa little more about the maximum height & width (measured in pixels only) you'll be allowed for the jpg, and which part of the whole image you'll be wanting to appear in that space. It may be that you'll have to move the black apple dingbats and the associated black text down below the name and web address.

But you are not aware that an EPUB is a ZIP file.

It's just huge, even before I zip it...how can I see what item is taking up the most space?
I did not write that you should zip.
I wrote UNzip it. And have look into the package, what is inside which is causing the size.

  • How to decrease the size of the JS and CSS File

    Hi experts,

  • Decreasing the size of the ciphertext

I have a problem I'm sure is really simple. I'm using BC to do some encryption, and am creating a cipher by calling
    Cipher.getInstance( "RSA/ECB/PKCS1Padding", bcProvider);
I chose those values because they were in the example I found (with no explanation) and I am using RSA public/private keys. My problem is that my cleartext is 19 bytes long, but the ciphertext is 128 bytes long. This is bad, because the cipher text is going to be sent to users as some sort of license key, so it needs to be as short as possible. What values can I use to decrease this?
    Sander Smith

    Cipher.getInstance( "RSA/ECB/PKCS1Padding",
    bcProvider);...
it needs to be as short as possible. What values can
I use to decrease this?Short answer - you can't. Block ciphers (like RSA)
produce output in block-sized chunks; they can't
produce anything smaller. RSA's block size is the
same as the keysize, and the keysize is large.I guess I could use a smaller key size and still feel comfortable.
Would going to a stream cipher be a better choice? How would I create a cipher if that's what I wanted to do?
    >
You could use 512-bit RSA keys. They're not very
secure anymore, but it sounds like they should work
for your purpose. That still means turning your
19-byte license into a 64-byte sequence, of course,
but it's smaller than 128 bytes.
You're about to run into a second problem, though.
    Your ciphertext is NOT a human-readable String - it's
random bits. To make it something your end-user can
see/copy/paste/type, you need to run it through
something like Base64, which takes a binary sequence
and turns it into text. Base64 enlarges its input by
4/3rds, though - so your 64-byte ciphertext is going
to become ~86 bytes of Base64-d String. Ouch.
Yes, I know. I already am Base64ing the ciphertext. I didn't think I needed to discuss this as it didn't really add anything to my problem.
I've seen a number of places that gather info from the
user, build a string out of it, and then build an MD5
or SHA1 hash of the String. The hash is used as the
    license.
Who are you protecting your license from, and why?
That's what will drive getting more useful answers
    from folk here.
    Grant
Alright, I'll try to explain a little bit about what I'm doing. I have a product that's freely downloadable, but doesn't work without a license key. To get a license key, you need to come through me. Every license key that I issue is customized for whomever is purchasing it, and has data embedded into it with that person's name, etc. This means that if you buy a license, you can give your key to your friend and he can also run the product. However, due to the nature of the product (I won't go into a long explanation as to what it does) lots of people will be able to see this, and it will be obvious to them that this person has a pirated version of software. Hence, it is unlikely that people will try to steal it unless they can change the embedded name in the license key.
This gives me some incentive to be able to take a string of data containing the relavent information (licensor's name, license expiration, other info...) and encrypt it in such a way that it cannot be reverse engineered. What I've done is generate a public/private key, use the private key in the encryption code that is part of the generate key code that only I have, and freely distribute the public key in a certificate that the product will use to verify that the license key that a user has is really okay.
Make sense? I hope so, if not let me know where I'm mistaken.
