Decrypt a PDF when offline?

Hi,
A customer reports that he cannot open a certificate encrypted document when he is not in the network of his company. When he is in the network it works. Why is that and how can I fix that?
What we do:
We send a pdf document via email to the guy. the pdf is encrypted with a certificate. He has the pfx certificate in his Windows certificate store. the pfx certificate is signed by a CA, which is self signed. All certificates and the CA are generated with Adobe Acrobat. I installed the CA certificate on his machine and it does not change anything. We did not change any settings in th LC server regarding the certificates.

Network connectivity is not necessary to open a "certificate encrypted" PDF as long as the end user has "local" access to the private key that corresponds to the public key that was used to encrypt the PDF. If the "private" key was being pulled from the end user's LDAP account then I would say that network connectivity would be necessary.
To clarify, a "self-signed" certificate does not have a CA (certificate authority) or be "signed" by a certificate authority. This is why it is called a "self-signed" certificate.
A PFX file contains a private key and a public key. Only the end user should have access to the PFX file. The public key can be extracted from the PFX, and saved as a ".cer" (certificate) file (this file can be distributed freely). The "certificate" file is used to encrypt the PDF for the specific user. When the user receives the encrypted PDF and they attempt to open it, they must have the PFX file containing the "private" key, and they must supply the password for the private key.
Make sure that the PFX is installed in the Windows Certificate Store, not just the public key "certificate" file.

Not receiving secure PDF for offline payment

Hi all,
I've had a website running for the past few months that takes users details for offline payments during checkout. When I first set the site up (several months ago) everything seemed to come through fine. I could see the users details and had everything I needed to take payment.
However I have recently gone back into the site to make a few changes and have realised that I am no longer receiving the secure PDF for offline payment. I have set my new password, triple checked that my email is selected and have tried several times but still can't seem to find any user details that would allow me to take payment.
This is currently the only system I have in place as I am assessing whether or not there is enough traffic on the site to consider setting up a realtime payment portal but even as a temporary thing I would like to get this working.
Any information about this would be greatly appreciated!

Since upgrading to ios8, pages very slow to load, and can no longer read items in my reading list when offline. ?????

SI since upgrading to ios8, Safari pages are very slow to load, Kindle crashes upon opening, and I can no longer read saved artices from my reading list when offline. Big disappointment. Is it possible to downgrade to previous ios?

I actually managed to fix it! But unfortunately I don't know what I was that I did that helped.
Anyways, this is kind of what I did.
1. I tried to reset form bakup via iTunes, no change.
2. I tried to reset as a new iPhone, problem still there and reading list also as bookmarks!? (several hundred)
3. Noticed that I could delete a bookmark, once in a while, the other times I got the 'Bookmarks are being synced. Please edit the bookmarks once syncing has completed.' message.
4. Because I figured that it was a memory problem, I thought it made sense to delete as many as possible, witch I did.
5. Noticed that it was more likely that I coould delete a bookmark if I restarted Safari.
6. Notice that it was even more likely that I could delete a bookmark if I turned the Safari sync with iCould off (with option detete information on iPhone) and then back on again.
7. When I was about half way through deleting the bookmark list I suddenly discovered that all but one of the items in my reading list was 'waiting' and one was downloading. I kind of was 'unstuck' now.
8. I started to delete items in my reading list, but every other time I got the 'Bookmarks are being synced. Please edit the bookmarks once syncing has completed.' message.
9. It took a while to delete all bookmarks and items in the reading list.
Hope you guys could use the info here to fix your problems too!

I would like to have access to my work (exchange) email when offline (travelling). Is there a way of keeping a selected amount on my iPad, not just the most recent items?

The issue is that I use a number of folders and unless I manually open each one a sync whilst online, when offline the only emails that are available are those from the last sync, e.g. there is no automatic, background synchronisation of folders not in use.
Ideas?

Certainly, that's what Acrobat does. (But not Adobe's PDF Pack).
Note that you will need an internet connection to install Acrobat and (so far as I know) every month to check your license. So it's no use if you will be off net.

This Upload and Download Files is very useful feature in APEX.
However, is there a way of displaying PDF files first in the report by clicking the corresponding link
in the table?
I mean, is it possible to view PDF files first by clicking the link before deciding to download them?
As we see, this approach is used by most websites and after opening and viewing a PDF file, we can save them.

Not sure what you mean by "tried to use Word". ExportPDF doesn't change what Word can do. Can you explain what you try and what happens in more detail?

Automatically prompt to save PDF when Print Preview for Purchase Order?

We recently upgraded to EP7.
I have an end user that does our PO's.
She swears up and down that she used to be able to go into any given PO, be it new or existing, and click on the print preview button. She says when she did this she was prompted to save or open the file.
She is set to PDF Preview when doing a print preview of the PO.
When we first upgraded the system, it was broken. When she tried to do this it would give you a Page Cannot Be Displayed error as in unable to find the page. We learned that there was an issue with name resolution within the system. We fixed this and now she can view the files as PDF when doing a print preview.
But she still claims it did not used to work like this that when she went to preview she would be prompted to save or view which worked great for her because she could click save, save it to her computer, and then email it to whomever she needed to send it to.
Seems clear to me that that when you do PDF Preview that an SAP browser session is created and sent to an web site (internal to SAP of course) to view the PDF. How can I tell SAP to give me the option to view or save?
For now the user is repeating the output when she needs to reprint another copy of the PO.
I should also say that we use Free PDF Creator. After setting her default printer to this, she says that now when she creates a new PO, it is working like before. So its possible that the prompt was the one from PDF Creator.
The user says she swears she could simply print preview would allow her to save local. I never saw it for myself prior to the upgrade.
Anyone seen this before or can offer any clues? Is there away to issue output at print preview?

It looks like issue was at browser/pdfreader side.

Using Fields from PDF when saving

Im looking on how to use fields in a pdf form when saving the form.
ex. Incident Report
Staff open up the form. Put in the information. Want it so when they save it puts the clients name and date in the save as. So they open Incident_Report.pdf when they save it would be Incident_Report_ClientsName_Date.pdf Yes the staff could type that in that way but want to make it as easy for everyone involved.

So let's say you have the following fields in your file:
Incident_Report
ClientsName
Date
You can then add this code to the file's WillSave action (under Tools - JavaScript - Set Document Actions):

Of course, you can adjust the message to the user, and even the format of the file-name, although I've used the format you specified.

You'll have to expand on your description for a full answer - but all things considered, it would be possible.
If the "called" (this is one of the things you need to clarify - do you mean a PDF opened via the JavaScript openDoc method?) PDF discloses itself, then the "calling" PDF can execute an importXFDF or similar call on that PDF as long as they are Reader Extended.
Past that, you'll need to give us more information on exactly what you're trying to do.

I've checked your account, and see no issues with your subscription. So, if you're using a web browser, please log out, clear the browser cache, and then log back in to https://cloud.acrobat.com. And, if you're using Reader, make sure that you're logged in—you should see your name listed in the upper-right corner. If not, click the Sign In link and then sign in with your user name and password.
