Dedicated graphic card g780

I have no idea why my laptop doesnt use my dedicated graphic card. How can i check if its not broken or missing? Ive tried a lot of software solutions, even my brother who is programmer tried, yet hes in united states so he cant check hardware.

Hi Raderk,
Welcome to the Lenovo Community.
As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with the graphic card on your G570 laptop.
As you have suspected it might be broken, please visit the nearest service centre and verify the issue, please if there is a discrete graphic card which was shipped with the system. As the system needs to disassemble and check for the issue.

    Hello, I have a Mac computer with NVIDIA 750M dedicated graphics card and monitor EIZO but the problem was there when I was working with Windows and Acer monitor. When I open a file from Camera Raw in PS this is smaller than the screen so I double-click with the tool "hand" to fit on the screen, but the picture loses sharpness and becomes blurry. If you magnify the image even only slightly with the tool "zoom" the picture comes back clear. In Camera Raw instead is always sharp. I solve the problem by turning off the graphics card in PS but often use plugin that need the graphics card otherwise the processing time is much longer. I ask for help.
    Thanks.

  • Can't get dedicated graphics card to work.

    I can not get the dedicated graphics card to work on my laptop. I spend my night installing and uninstalling drivers, wich none of them seem to work.
    To check the card if its working, I dissabled Intel HD Graphics adapter and left the AMD, instead of getting the dedicated card to work I got "Microsoft Basic Display Driver".
    Please help me....
    EDIT: I only reinstalled AMD drivers, I didn't touched the intel ones since they work.

  • Do I need a dedicated graphics card for my laptop if I mainly use Photoshop CS6 to paint?

    I'm looking to buy a laptop and having a dedicated graphics card is obviously more expensive, but is it necessary for painting on Photoshop CS6 without lagging? I use a lot of layers, adjustments, masks, and large brushes, but that's mostly it, also I don't spam the undo button.

    LOL, those are very compute-intensive operations.  That's basically saying "I need the most powerful computer I can find" to run Photoshop.
    It's hard to generalize an answer to your specific question, because not all GPUs or systems are created equal.  If I had to generalize, I'd say you should try to avoid DUAL GPU systems, in which an Intel and some other brand are combined to try to deliver power saving and high performance capabilities.  Photoshop traditionally doesn't really like that kind of arrangement, and forum members often advise folks with dual GPU systems who are experiencing problems to just disable one of them (usually the lesser one) anyway.
    Keep in mind that a laptop isn't going to be able to achieve as good performance as a desktop for a resource hungry application like Photoshop, yet will be more expensive.  You really will want a high-end machine (possibly even mobile workstation class) to paint in the manner you describe.
    I invite others who use modern laptops to chime in here and relate their actual experiences, as well as provide information on their specific configurations.

  • What would I gain in terms of defying (deferring) obsolescence by purchasing a top end 15" w/the dedicated graphics card as opposed to the top end 13"? thanks!

    I have a circa late 2007 all-black 13" MB with 2.2 GHz Intel core 2 duo, and It still works well
    thinking of the 13-inch, 2.6GHz dual vs the 15-inch: 2.3GHz quad core.. and I was hoping to repeat the 2007's longevity

    thanks! also general pros and cons could help

    Do not spend today's money for features you will only use tomorrow. Buy the computer you need today, and when your needs change, buy the computer you need then.
    A computer has no art value. It is a commodity tool that should help you do the work you want to do right now.

  • How do I make Visual Studio 2013 use my dedicated graphics card instead of integrated graphics on my laptop?

    I am using Alienware 13 as a portable workstation. I do game development on Unreal Engine 4 using Visual Studio 2013. The issue I am having is that when I want to debug codes in Visual Studio 2013, it launches Unreal Engine 4 through the debugger and uses
    the integrated graphics card rather than my dedicated graphics card, which is an nVida Geforce 860M.
    When I wanted to change the settings in the NVidia Control Panel, I see this:
    The drop-down menu is grayed out, so I cannot select to change the graphics card to my dedicated card.
    What should I do? How do I make it so that Visual Studio uses my dedicated card? Thanks in advance.

    Hi tom_mai78101,
    Thank you for posting in the MSDN forum.
    It seems that it is not the correct forum for this issue, since this forum is to discuss Visual Studio WPF/SL Designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System, and Visual Studio Editor.
    As you said that you want to change the setting so that Visual Studio uses your dedicated card in NVidia Control Panel, since this NVidia Control Panel is third-party tool, we are not support it. So please post this issue this issue directly
    to this NVidia Control Panel Official website:
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/nvidia-communities.html , you will get better support.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Adding a dedicated graphic card to a Macbook Pro late 2013

    Hi everybody,
    I have bought a late 2013 macbook pro retina 15'', but without the dedicated graphic card, I have the Iris Pro.
    Would be possible to add the nVidia GT 750M?
    If yes, what would be the ~ cost?
    Thanks in advance

    It's not possible. If you want that model your best bet would be to sell your MBP and use the proceeds to buy what you want.

  • Adding dedicated graphic card to my laptop

    I have I5 core E5-571P-59QA laptop, and I have intel HD 4000 family integrated graphic cards. Is it possible to add dedicated graphic card to my laptop? Intel HD 4000 is decent enough but I want to play more graphically intense games .

    to my knowledge the answer would be "no" to an upgrade to graphics as the laptop is not designed for that, it uses integrated Intel HD-4400 graphics which are decent for basic gaming.

  • Dedicated graphic card not recognized

    Hello there, I have bought a Lenovo G500 with a i3 3110m proccesor 4 gb RAM and an AMD Radeon 8570m graphics card. I have a very big problem now, a couple of hours ago I got a blue screen of death and since then, my dedicated graphics card isn't recognized, only the Intel one. I tried doing a system restore of yesterday when I installed some programs, that didn't work, I did another one for about a week ago, I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, I even installed an older one to see if anything works, but nothing yet. Something like this happened before but I don't know how it got fixed, I'm asking for someone's help because I really don't know what to do, the notebook is only a couple of months old and I don't think it should be acting this way. Thank you.

    Do you have the latest version of bootcamp? If not, download it and recreate your driver cd then when in bootcamp install the new drivers

  • Is a dedicated graphics card better than an integrated graphics card for running Logic Pro?

    I am trying to figure out if a dedicated graphics card is better than an integrated graphics card for using Logic Pro. I have heard opinions supporting both. From what I have been told a Mac mini with an integrated graphics card would work just fine. I have also heard that a modest dedicated graphics card could also benefit Logic Pro. Honestly, I have heard more people saying that the integrated graphics card on the Mac mini would do the job. But still, I have heard a couple people (even 2 senior Mac experts) state that a dedicated graphics card (iMac) is the way to go. Maybe a Mac mini with integrated graphics card will do the job, but an iMac would do the job better, I don't know, if anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

    One thing is Logic Pro and another thing is Final Cut Pro. Logic Pro is a music production app, so it doesn't use the GPU heavily and you can use it with an integrated GPU without any problem. However, video editing apps like Final Cut Pro or iMovie will note the difference

  • G780 Nvidia 630m Refuses to use dedicated graphics card

    Okay so I have the G780 Windows 7 64-bit i7 core 2.9 gHz. 6GB RAM, 750GB HDD, Intel Graphics 4000, and the NVidia GT 630M dedicated 2GB card.
    So for the past two years I have had this computer and have about 20 games, that at one time worked perfectly fine, until one day I decided to launch a game (Dishonored) and it crashed. So I decided to play another game, Sleeping Dogs, and it crashed as well. Launched Borderlands 2, what do you know? It crashed too.
    So I downloaded TechPowerUp's GPU-Z to see if the GPU was running, overheating etc. Found out as I was running Borderlands 2, it was using the integrated 4000 HD graphics instead of my dedicated.
    Now I have been having several problems with this. I have updated Nvidia drivers to version 9.18.13.3467 (1/15/14), running Graphics Bios Version 70.08.a8.00.43 and have updated the Nvidia Control Panel to the latest version. This program barely works and even though I have personally gone in and added every game's .exe file to the "Use High-Powered Graphics" setting, it still refuses to run on dedicated and runs on integrated as seen by GPU-Z.
    Any help here?

    hi unsterblich666,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
    Try Uninstalling both GPU Driver from Device Manager,
    Intel HD Graphcis and make sure to place a check mark under Delete driver softwar for this device
    Then Continue to Uninstall th Nvidia As well place a check on the check box to delete driver sotware.
    Restart the system if prompted
    then install the driver back using this version frm support site.

  • Dedicated Graphic Card Failure (ATI) - HP Pavilion DV6

    Hey guys,
    I have HP pavilion Dv6 which have AMD Radeon Graphics card(may be 69xx or 74xx radeon series 1Gb ddr3).
    Currently i have installed Windows 7 & Ubuntu(Dual boot).
    Problem:
    I was playing NFS when the system froze,so i turned it off forcefully, after that laptop always get stuck at windows logo.I also tried to switch the (bios)dynamic option(graphic) to fixed,in this option i do get past the logo but i am presented with blank screen ,in short no luck.
    However i have managed to get it to work with ubuntu with intel default video card , through advanced recovery option.
    What can i do to use some how similar approach for windows 7 i.e disable dedicated video card?
    Can Graphics card can be repaired/changed easily?
    Thanks

    Have you checked the hard drive using Diagnostics in BIOS? Or F2 immediately after power on? (F2 may not work if you deleted the Diagnostic partition to install Ubuntu)

  • Will an onboard garaphic card work with the lates version of photoshop or do I have to have a dedicated graphic card

    Will an onboard graphic card work with the lates version of photoshop or do I have to have a dedicated garphic card

    Most likely you should be fine.  Some of the early i7s might not support it (did the first i7 core have integrated GPU?), but any of the last couple are fine.  The nice thing is, that you can always add an aftermarket GPU if you need to, so give it a shot.
    I have a Haswell i7 (4770k) in my desktop PC, and it's more than enough.  I did a lot of research when I built my PC and my conclusion at the time was that a GPU doesn't offer a sizable performance boost unless you buy a really nice GPU ($400+).  The integrated GPU can run all the functions of CS6.
    My laptop is an older i5.  Not sure which, but I think Sandy Bridge.  I can notice the difference in process times between the integrated GPU and discrete (AMD).  But only on certain heavy filters and when working with big composites (~2 gb files).  But that's an i5 and and older one.  That said, the integrated GPU is far more stable, so I usually just put up the lag instead of having the AMD GPU crash my computer.

  • Integrated & dedicated graphic card conflict

    I have a ge70 2pe apache pro (notebook). installed on it, the intel HD graphic 4600 (integrated) and the NVIDIA gtx 860M (dedicated). My pc sees both graphic card but i cannot play with gtx. What i did:
    1) update NVIDIA drivers;
    2) unistall/disable the intel HD graphic (and the notebook continued to find a vga graphic card and not the gtx);
    3) set on "risolution monitor" the gtx but he sees it just on a 2nd monitor which i don t have;
    4) set on "nvidia panel" that all my programs have to start with gtx or high video processor performance without results;
    5) clicking with the rx mouse button on the game icon, i don t see the option "run with graphic processor";
    6) i m gone to the BIOS too to set uefi, but it reset continuously on the BIOS so i have to run it with "LEGACY".
    This is everything i did... give me a solution please..  i bought this pc few days ago.
    Thanks in advance, Alex.
    ps: sorry for my English

    Hello,
    Somewhere in Nvidia control panel you should find something about choosing default processor to be used, set it to GTX if you can find it.
    Also: in nvidia control panel in 3D Settings (global) find something about Power Management Mode: change from "Adaptive" to "Prefer Max Performance".
    Try previous version of nvidia drivers.
    Run GPU-Z and see if it detects GTX card.
    You can't disable HD graphics as it's just there. And even if you uninstall nvidia drivers, it will work fine. But if nvidia breaks, you probably will need custom BIOS to set HD graphics as default (unless MSI changed this already).
