Defaul to printer
Hi:
A user wants to print a PO to printer. He was trying to change the default to printer in personal profile but doesn't let him. What is the problem?

Aniekeme EtokimoHi again, sorry, just realize the txt are scramble. In summary, I setup a standalone w2k8 Enterprise R2 SP1 server. Installed Print and Document Service to make it a print servrer. I then delete the defaul MSX printer and its printer driver package
to make it clean. I then download Lexmark Universal PS3 Version 2 driver and install it by script. it is all good. as a member of local administrators group of the print server via AD, I can run Print Management on my windows 7 workstation
and connect to the server and able to create new printer using the pre-installed driver as mentioned above. I assigned the Manage Printers and Manage Server permission through the Print Server Properties from Print Management (this is done by Print Management
on the server itself) to our level 2 staff so that they can add printer queue using the PMC on their workstation to the server without the need to RDP and log on to the server. This is because they are not server administrators. According to this
docco Assigning Delegated Print Administrator and Printer Permission Settings in Windows Server 2008 R2, it should work but no, it didn't work. it allowed the users going through the Add Printer wizard and right at the end it came up
with the error message - Printer Driver was not installed. Access Denied. I then add them to the local administrators group of the server, then they can.
have I done something wrong or missing something? Any helps would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. Tu -

It seems that your printer will not allow an update to be installed. In order to look into this for you / see if the update is available any other way, I have a few questions.
What is the Operating System of computer you use, Windows or Mac?
What is the model of printer?
How is the printer connected to the computer, USB, Ethernet or Wireless?

<br/>The smartform program itself is simple and correct, just has one header and several items and uses normal SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME and CALL FNAME to do the print work, in most of time it works correct, but sometimes it just has problem and then the deadlock error occurred. I guess maybe it's because user tried to print too fast than the capability of the printer and then user canceled the job, then in some situations, the upcoming printing jobs get blocked and then get stuck, but it's just a guess, i've no proof to identify it.

<br/>Thanks very much for your fast reply. Yes, the smartforms are custom-built. Besides the deadlock error, there still has some errors in SP01 says "Could not pass request to host spool system". But it previews wonderfully in SP01. The detailed SP01 error log is like below:

What do you mean parallel processing on table level? The smartforms extract data from different SAP tables and then transfer to smartform interface, then they can added in form pages. Do you think this results parallel processing towards tables?

In Windows 8 environment--can't print from Adobe reader
Hi there. I have problems printing from Adobe reader in a Windows 8 environment. The printing defaul is "OneNote", and I can't get to the print screen to change it to my normal printer. When you try to print (with button or Ctrl-P) the print screen opens for a split second and then Adobe reader closes.
I would like to disable "OneNote" as the default, but can't get the print screen to stay open long enough for me to select my regular printer. I would be grateful for advice. I am sure there is an easy fix--I just don't know what it is. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Adobe reader, so i was able to print for the rest of that one day. Nest day--back to square one.
Thanks.Did all the updates thru 8.1.7. Now it tells me to print the document I need to activate Adobe which I did when I installed it. Under the Help screen the activation tab is greyed out. If I did de-activate it on my old laptop I don’t think it would change the state of this tab.

Shop paper printing issue in Quality notifications
Hello All,
I have a requirement where the user wants to print/fax quality notifications to a certain printer (printer 2) other than his regular printer defined in user defauls in SU01.
In the IMG settings for quality notifications, I found the customizations for Print control. In the customization 'User-Dependent Print Control' (under 'Define Printer'), I created a new record with the user name, the shop paper corresponding to a quality notification and specified the printer name (printer 2).
However, I notice that when I print this shop paper from within the quality notification, it prints it on the user default printer (defined in SU01) and not in the new printer (printer 2) defined in the above mentioned customization.
Please let me know how I can configure the notifications to be printer on this new printer.

I need to print automatically from a software I develop.
I think I'll use a script for this.
I have 2 questions:
1.
the command:
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" /p /h "C:\TEST\myfile.pdf"
works, but it goes on the defaul printer.
So I'm trying with:
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" /t "C:\TEST\myfile.pdf" "\\mycomputer\myPrinterWithA SpaceInTheName"
but it doesn't work ...
2.
I will deploy my application on differents customers informatic parcs, with differents Adobe versions.
In my script, before printing I read in registery:
- HKCR\.pdf, to get AcroExch.document
- HKCR\AcroExch.document.7\shell\print\command, or HKCR\AcroExch.document.7\shell\printto\command
to be sure to have the right command used in 1.
Will these keys change in future versions ?
Can I use directly the command (used in 1) without reading registry and be sure to have the right command ?Yes !

i've been receiving the comics for some time now on my 8600 and they have been printing normally in the portrait orientation. but with no warning approximately four days ago, the pages started printing in landscape. and instead of the individual strips being sized to fit the page, they have been shrunken down to fit six comics on one page (again, in landscape format).
before the comics started printing incorrectly, no changes were made to the printer, except for setting the defaul print tray to tray 2. that being said, both print trays have always been, and are still set to accomodate (use) 8x11 paper.
can someone explain why the print orientation and sizing has randomly changed all of a sudden and how to fix it? i'm very frustrated with it and am ready to disable the comics because of the change. (and that would make me a *very* unhappy camper because i do enjoy getting them!)

Printer not printing due to ink
I have had my printer 2 years, and do not use it much, the inks are the original ones that came with the printer, it was printing faintley so I bought some new GENUINE inks,the black did not print at all, so i done all the cleans about 20 times, i also dampened the print heads and the black eventually came (not brilliant) but now all the inks seem to have run out and i am getting a message on my printer,oxc19a0036, and not any print at all, this is all in the space of 3 days. does this mean my printer is ready for the bin?

Please close any opened HP dialog, reboot yoru PC and try the following:
Once the USB is connected, click the HP Officejet 4620 icon to open its software.
Open the Utilities tab and then click on Printer Setup & Software.
Select Convert USB to Wireless connection and folow the steps on screen to reconnect the printer to your wireless network.
If you experience any issues, click teh Wireless button on the priter, select Wireless and then Restore Defaults.
Next click the Setup button, select Tools and then Restore Defauls.
Turn the printer Off and on again, then repeat thte steps above and check for any change.

Adobe Printer Preferences do not change - Back to default
We have Acrobat 8.1 installed on an XP and 2003 Server station. The printer preferences were changed to print to pdf without prompting for a file name, delete logs, etc. We we open an application like notepad and print to the PDF printer all the printer preferences are applied. However, when an application like MSF (Microsoft Shared Fax) uses the printer to print faxes to pdf, the pdf used the default Adobe printer preferences instead of the preferences set on the PDF Printer. This locks up the computer because the PDF Printer prompts for a file name and location, but the prompt window is suppressed, and therefore the machine locks up with no posibility of removing the print job from the spooler.
How can I force Microsoft Shared Fax to use the preferences set in the PDF Printer, instead of it using the defaul values. Where in the registry is this located?

CathI will not address the server issue, though you need to have proper license for this use (not the standard out-of-the-box license). As far as the settings, you should set them in the Adobe PDF printer properties. They may fail across a network connection. Network issues have long been problems for some folks using Acrobat.

This statment itself is getting all the Terms and Conditions for that report. when i looked in the ASOPRTXSL.xsl, I see the below statement

I'm fairly new to Oracle Quoting and trying to get familiar with it. I have a few questions and would appreciate if anyone answers them
1) We have a requirement to customize the Print Quote report. I searched these forums and found that this report can be defined either as a XML Publisher report or an Oracle Reports report depending on a profile option. Can you please let me know what the name of the profile option is?
2) When I select the 'Print Quote' option from the Actions drop down in the quoting page and click Submit I get the report printed and see the following URL in my browser.

No, there is no conc program getting called, you can directly call a report in a browser window, Oracle reports server will execute the report and send the HTTP response to the browser.4) If we want to customize the jsp pages can you please let me know the steps involved in making the customizations and testing them.
