Default a value based on the selection in the pop up

Hi Experts,
My requirement goes like this:
We have a custom pop-up to display plant fields for a component at the item level. If the user selects the plant in the pop-up, then the plant should get defaulted at the item level plant field. The plant field is also a custom field.
While creating the pop-up component, the binding has already been established between the two components.
My question is:
The pop-up component is different from the item view component. SO how to capture the event from the pop-up and code it to default the plant at the item level. How the code will be to call the value of one component from another.
How to default the plant value at the item block.
Thanks,
Sangeeta.

Sangeetha,
Incase of pop ups, we need to specify a CLOSE EVENT HANDLER at the
very same place where we call the pop up.
gref_popup = me->comp_controller->window_manager->create_popup(
                      iv_interface_view_name = 'xxx/MainWindow'
                         iv_usage_name          = 'Cuxxxx'
                         iv_title = lv_popup_title ).
    gref_ppg_popup->set_display_mode( if_bsp_wd_popup=>c_display_mode_surrounded ).
  ENDIF.
* Set the callback event on the imported controller
  gref_ppg_popup->set_on_close_event(  iv_view = me
                                      iv_event_name = 'POP_CLOSED' ).
In this event handler(it will be created in the source component itself) , you need to capture the outbound plug information and the data on the pop up
ASSIGN me->context->('AGREEMENT') TO <pointer>.           "#EC NOTEXT
  lr_target_node ?= <pointer>.
  IF sy-subrc NE 0.
    RAISE EXCEPTION TYPE cx_bsp_wd_incorrect_implement.
  ENDIF.
  CHECK lr_target_node IS BOUND.
  IF   account_popup IS BOUND.
* get the result (list) from the search
    lv_fired_outbound =   gref_popup->get_fired_outbound_plug( ).
    CHECK lv_fired_outbound IS NOT INITIAL.
    lr_node =   gref_popup->get_context_node( 'PARTNER' )."#EC NOTEXT
    You can refer to any standard UI F4 value help and understand the logic behind.

  • Values from a Multi-Select in the where clause of a Select statement

    I have a web page that solicits query parameters from the user.
    The selections that the user makes will populate the WHERE clause of a Select statement.
    One of the controls on the page is a multi-select control.
    When this page posts, I would like to execute a Select statement wherein the selected values from this control appear in the .. Column IN ( <list here> ) portion of the WHERE clause.
    This is an extremely common scenario, but I cannot seem to locate a how-to or message thread that addresses this specific case.
    I have an idea that it may involve dynamic SQL or Execute Immediate, but cannot seem to pin down the answer.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • How can I reduce the selection for the characteristics value in a BW query

    Good morning,
    I need to find out how I can reduce the selection for the characteristics values in a BW query.
    In a BW query I have a characteristic "Due month".
    The characteristic values shown in the query are from 01.2001->03.2007. I would like to reduce it to the last 2 years,in the query view,  without deleting the data for the other years in the cube.
    Do you know how this can be done?
    Thank you in advance for your feedback.
    Kind regards,
    Linda Verding
    Staff Consultant - CSC

    hi,
    First thing you have to do is check the report how the data is being restricted only to those months.
    1) one it can be variable in which the code is written for that to populate for last few years.
    or else it must have been hardcoded for these months.
    Go into your report and underneath the characteristicsCALMONTH there must be an variable or hardcoding.
    You need to change this here in the report.
    You dont have to delete anything there.

  • Urgent: How to exclude a particular value from the selection in the infopac

    How to exclude a particular value from the selection in the infopackage.
    Ex: not load for cost center 10000
    Thank you,
    sam

    Hi Sam,
    You cannot do this directly as exclusion, but you can include all other values, even as ranges and thus exclude the particular value, else you can also try to do this by writing a routine.
    Hope this helps...

  • Could not make a new layer from the selection because the selected area is empty

    I have Photoshop CS5 and I'm trying to do a selection on a new layer and when I copy it this message appears: "could not make a new layer from the selection because the selected area is empty"..
    The new layer is selected, no other layer is selected. What the hell am I doing wrong???....Yes I'm a beginner.. ....please help?

    Hi There,
    So just to clarify you have made a new blank layer, made a selection on that layer and then done a Layer > New > Layer via Copy (or cmd J).
    The reason that you would get this error message is you have made a selection on a blank layer (effectively selecting nothing) and tried to duplicate it and Photoshop won't let you do that.
    When doing New Layer via Copy or New Layer via cut you selection needs to include some painted (coloured) pixels.
    Regards
    Paul
    PS. Maybe you could explain what you are trying to achieve by copying the layer and I could help a little more.

  • Set Radio Group Default Value Based on a Select List Change Event

    Apex 4.2
    I have a radio group that is source is below. It returns 3 radio group item All,Miv,Courier
    SELECT type d, code r FROM vw_lov_depot
      WHERE svc_name = :P320_DEPOT
      ORDER BY 1
    The radio group is only populated when :P320_DEPOT gets a value, this is a select list.
    I am trying to set the radio group to  default to this value Miv it would use the statement
    SELECT type d, code r FROM vw_lov_depot
      WHERE svc_name = :P320_DEPOT
      and type ='Miv'
      ORDER BY 1
    I have tried creating a dynamic action on Select list change to populate the default value of the radio group...no joy I also tried a computation. how can I set this default value on when list changed.
    Thanks
    I have got the default Radio Group Selection working by doing a computation before region on the radio group and calling its select statement and setting the value. But the problem is now I cannot change the radtio group as I do it fire the before region trigger and sets it back to the default value....any help?

  • How to populate the values based on different selections in Dashboard Promp

    Hi,
    I have a group prompt, which has 2 drop downs. The DropDown1 decides the values of DropDown2.
    I have used a SQL query in the "Show" values which will populate the dropdowns.
    When a value is 'selected" from DropDown1, the selected value decided the values of DropDown2 which is again a SQL query.
    But I see that when a new value is selected from DropDown1, the values in DropDown2 will not change until I click on GO.Even after clicking GO, the previously selcted value is retained.
    As an illustration:
    animals,plants are the choices in the first drop down, which if, animal is selected would populate the dropdown2 with cow,sheep, tiger.
    Assume animal is selected. The second drop down now is populated with cow,sheep and tiger. Assume you chose sheep.This resulted in display of sheep related info on the BI page.
    Now if I go back to the first dropdown and select plants, I would expect the second drop down to be populated with fig, palm, coconut.
    However in my case I see only the proviously popluated animals in the DropDown2.
    If I click on Go, I see that the DropDown2 is populated with Sheep,,fig, palm, coconut. Ideally I should not have seen the prevously selected value in DropDown2.
    Here there are 2 problems stated for a group promt having 2 DropDowns where item chosen from one decides the values of the other dropdown
    1. On selecting an item from DropDown1, is not populating with the corresponding values in DropDown2
    2. When 'Go' is clicked, DropDown2 is populated with the corresponding values for DropDown1 + the previously selected value in DropDown2 is retained.
    Any input to get out of this problem will help
    thanks
    Shubha

    Hi
    I am using group prompt and has 4 drop downs.
    Value of one decides the other. Values for the dropdowns will be populated by SQL results.
    'Constrain' will not be available for sql results..
    How to go about this?
    thanks

  • Restrict variable values based on another variable in the bex query...

    I am struggling to restrict the variable values from other varaible in the selection criteria. I have a variable which restricts he organisation(0ORGUNIT) and another to restrict employees.
    When the user selects any organisation unit form the hierarchy, I want only those employees related to that organsation in the varaible selection options.
    Is there any way I can make a variable values dependant on the another variable value in variable selection screen?

    Your help in this matter will be much appreciated.

    Hi Kthapa,
    Did u try using cmod?
    i_step = 1? Used to provide default values for the selection screen variables and
    i_step = 2 for filling up the variables after selection screen.
    Try using based on ur requirement.
    Hope this helps. Revert back for any queries.

    Trying to fill in address, city, state, zip text fields based on option selected in a select form field. The following code works great in Internet Explorer, but in Chrome or Firefox, after making selection, text fields are populated with the word "undefined."
    I've found a PHP version of Jquery script here that would probabably fit the bill.

    I've tried many iterations of "onchange" adding other variables (locationCity, locationZip, etc.) but coming up empty.
    Anyway, I wish I could buy you a beer or two for the help . . .

  • Defaulting Null Values in an outer join to the last joined row's values.

    I have a situation where I need to fill in the missing values from an outer join with the last values returned by the join.
    The query is based on a date table, an organization table and a transaction table.
    SELECT D.DATE_ID, O.ORG_ID, T.VALUE
    FROM D_ORGANIZATION O, D_DATE D, F_TRANSACTION T
    WHERE D.DATE_ID = T.DATE_ID(+)
    AND T.ORG_ID = O.ORG_ID(+)
    AND O.ORG_NAME = '&NAME'[
    AND D.THE_DATE >= ADD_MONTHS( TO_DATE( '&&PERIOD_DATE', 'DD-MON-YYYY' ), -23 )
    AND D.THE_DATE <= ADD_MONTHS( TO_DATE( '&&PERIOD_DATE', 'DD-MON-YYYY' ), 24 )
    So the query will return all dates in the 4 year period, and where transactions exist the relevent value.
    DATE_ID ORG_ID VALUE
    38291     2 99.8
    38321     2 45.1
    38352
    38383
    38411
    What I need to happen is:
    DATE_ID ORG_ID VALUE
    38291     2 99.8
    38321     2 45.1
    38352     2 45.1
    38383 2 45.1
    38411     2 45.1
    Lag appears to be of no use because it will only pick up the last genuine value, so using
    NVL(T.VALUE, LAG(T.VALUE,1) OVER ( .... )
    Gives:
    ATE_ID ORG_ID VALUE
    38291     2 99.8
    38321     2 45.1
    38352     2 45.1
    38383
    38411
    The length of the data gap can vary as constituent organisations don't all return their data at the same time, and there may be intermediate dates where no data is returned , but the value needs to be calculated.
    What's going on here is that a gaph is being generated where the tool requires data points to plot the line, once the real data ends a bespoke trend calculations takes over based on the last value returned. I do not have access to the data warehousing options so a solution that doen't need them would be handy, but if not then options can be purchased.
    The tool can't use PL/SQL, but is perhaps a bespoke function in order?

    To do this wouldn't you need to know the data in advance? The real source table had 1800 organisations and 8,000,000 transactions.
    I Tried this as well, creating a pl/sql package as follows.
    create or replace PACKAGE stack AS
    TYPE gnt_push_numbers IS TABLE OF NUMBER INDEX BY PLS_INTEGER;
    TYPE gvt_push_varchars IS TABLE OF VARCHAR(1000) INDEX BY PLS_INTEGER;
    gna_push_numbers gnt_push_numbers;
    gva_push_varchars gvt_push_varchars;
    FUNCTION PUSH ( pn_push_var NUMBER, pn_offset NUMBER) RETURN NUMBER DETERMINISTIC;
    FUNCTION PUSH ( pv_push_var VARCHAR, pn_offset NUMBER) RETURN VARCHAR DETERMINISTIC;
    FUNCTION POP_NUM ( pn_offset NUMBER) RETURN NUMBER DETERMINISTIC;
    FUNCTION POP_VAR ( pn_offset NUMBER) RETURN VARCHAR DETERMINISTIC;
    END stack;
    CREATE OR REPLACE
    PACKAGE BODY "STACK" AS
    FUNCTION push(pn_push_var NUMBER, pn_offset NUMBER) RETURN NUMBER deterministic IS
    BEGIN
    gna_push_numbers(pn_offset) := pn_push_var;
    RETURN pn_push_var;
    END push;
    FUNCTION push(pv_push_var VARCHAR, pn_offset NUMBER) RETURN VARCHAR deterministic IS
    BEGIN
    gva_push_varchars(pn_offset) := pv_push_var;
    RETURN pv_push_var;
    END push;
    FUNCTION pop_num(pn_offset NUMBER) RETURN NUMBER deterministic IS
    BEGIN
    RETURN gna_push_numbers(pn_offset);
    END pop_num;
    FUNCTION pop_var(pn_offset NUMBER) RETURN VARCHAR deterministic IS
    BEGIN
    RETURN gva_push_varchars(pn_offset);
    END pop_var;
    END stack;
    Unfortunately it appears to act before the rows are sorted, so will only work in specialised circumstances, in that you have to ensure the rows have been sorted before the function is used.
    SELECT PUSH(COL), POP..(COL)
    FROM ( SELECT etc.
    Luckily the client decided they didn't want to mix their graphs any more so a more classic approach using a base table select for actuals and then a date table select with a sub-query columns for the projection provided a simple solution.

  • Calculate value based upon checkbox selection

    G'day people,
    I've got myself a bit stuck on a job I've got here, this javascript is getting the better of me.
    The idea is that this script takes the sub total, and adds a creditcard surcharge (as a percentage) based upon a checkbox selection, then spits out the value to be entered into another field.
    If anyone could have a quick look over the following and let me know where I've gone wrong, it would be appreciated.
    var subtotal = this.getField("SubTotal").value;
    var mastercardTick = this.getField("MasterCard");
    var visaTick = this.getField("Visa");
    var amexTick = this.getField("Amex");
    var surcharge = this.getField("CreditSurcharge").value;
    var creditcard = this.getField("PayCredit").value;
    if (creditcard.value === "Off") {
         event.value = 0;
    } else {
              if (mastercardTick.value === "Yes") {
                 surcharge.value= (1.2 / 100) * subtotal.value;
        } else if (visaTick.value === "Yes") {
                 surcharge.value = (1.2 / 100) * subtotal.value;
        } else if (amexTick.value === "Yes") {
                   surcharge.value = (3.75 / 100) * subtotal.value;
        } else {
              event.value = 0;

    Thanks George, I've given this a whirl and got very close... I got a NaN error, and found I was calling "SubTotal" a value twice, which was playing funny buggers!
    I've got rid of one part (the if creditcard.value === "Off") as it wasn't acting like it should. I think I had to put it in a seperate function, to be called seperately then the rest of the code... However, I need to get the job out and it wasn't crucial.
    Thanks for your help mate, appreciated.
    For anyone else that's interested, amended code is as follows:
    var subtotal = this.getField("SubTotal");
    var mastercardTick = this.getField("MasterCard");
    var visaTick = this.getField("Visa");
    var amexTick = this.getField("Amex");
    // var surcharge = this.getField("CreditSurcharge").value;
    var creditcard = this.getField("PayCredit").value;
              if (mastercardTick.value === "Yes") {
                 event.value = (1.2 / 100) * subtotal.value;
        } else if (visaTick.value === "Yes") {
                 event.value = (1.2 / 100) * subtotal.value;
        } else if (amexTick.value === "Yes") {
                   event.value = (3.75 / 100) * subtotal.value;
        } else {
              event.value = 0;
    Not the nicest, but hey, it worked.

  • Usage question about Default Display Value based on calculation

    Hi,
    I read on page 3-70 of the devguide about using EL for Default Display Values.
    I want to something similar as the defaultSalaray based on some kind of calculation. There is stated to store the value on the request or session (request is fine for me).
    I'm only wondering how I can put some infromation like this on the request using JHS.
    Regards,
    Marcel

    Marcel,
    This requires custom code in a JhsDataAction subclass. For example, you can overwrite method handleLifeCycle, and before calling super you can add a request attribute:
    actionContext.getHttpServletRequest().setAttribute("defaultSal","23000");
    Alternatively, if you have a business service method that calculates the default salary, you could create a separate DataAction, drag and drop this method on the data action, and add a success forward to your data page action. In the DataAction you can configure the method result location (requestScope, sessionScope). This way, you do not need to write java code.

  • Trying to set attribute value based on user selection of another attribute

    I am trying to set an attribute value based on the user's selection of another attribute using JSP EditCurrentRecord. When the user chooses the AreaId from the combo box I want to look up the value of the RgnID, preferrably without the user seeing this field at all. Below is my code which does not work. When I run it I get Error Message: null. Any suggestions are appreciated!!
    <jsp:useBean id="RowEditor" class="oracle.jbo.html.databeans.EditCurrentRecord" scope="request">
    <%
    RowEditor.initialize(pageContext, "MyProject2_package1_SRSecurityModule.UsrAreaWhView");
    RowEditor.setTargetUrl("UsrAreaWhView_SubmitInsertForm.jsp");
    RowEditor.createNewRow();
    RowEditor.setDisplayAttributes("OracleId, RgnId, RegionKey, AreaId");
    RowEditor.useEditField("OracleId");
    RowEditor.getFieldRenderer("OracleId").setPromptText("Oracle ID");
    RowEditor.useEditField("AreaId");
    RowEditor.useComboBox("AreaId","AreaWhView","Area","AreaKey");
    RowEditor.getFieldRenderer("AreaId").setPromptText("Area");
    RowEditor.useEditField("RgnId");
    RowEditor.getFieldRenderer("RgnId").setPromptText("Region");
    RowEditor.getRowSet().getViewObject().getCurrentRow().setAttribute("RgnId",RowEditor.getRowSet().getViewObject().getCurrentRow().getAttribute("RegionKey"));
    RowEditor.setReleaseApplicationResources(true);
    RowEditor.render();
    %>
    </jsp:useBean>

    ok, sorry everyone for making it confusing; this is what I am
    trying to acheieve;
    I would like the user to populate my database with thier
    username AND userID. I have a dropdown box with thier username
    dynamicly populated already, what I am trying to achieve, is a way
    of when the user selects thier username either another dropdown or
    a hidden field is automatically populated with the appropiate
    userID (to match thier username). Now I could just have two
    dropdowns and they select both, but i'd rather avoid the
    possibility of mismatches, and that is why I would like it to be
    automatic and based on thier username selection...
    Does that make sense....?
