Default Activities in Routing
Hi Friends,
We have assigned activities with work centers, but after creating routing and we are not getting the activities in routing therefrore in CK11N, we are not getting these activities.
Please suggest how can we get the activity in routing.
Kraheja.
Dear Raheja,
Check whether have you assigned the proper work center in the routing for the individual operation.
check whether the usage of the work center is 009 - all task list types.
check whether the work center is locked, goto CR02->extras->status - lock/unlock.
Check the status and usage of the routing is as usage - 1 production and status is - 4 released general.
Check and revert back.

Management to VRF Interface on 1841 relying on default route
I couldn't find this in any of the bug lists, has anyone come across this scenario before:
I have an 1841 router, running: c1841-advipservicesk9-mz.124-25f
This router has multiple loopbacks in different VRFs, loopback 0 is in the global context, loopback 1 is in the "ADMIN" VRF (there are multiple other VRFs, but there is nothing special or unique in the config between them, so I'll just stick with loop1, the behaviour is the same for all VRFs)
The routing table contains an all-zeros route:
show ip route vrf ADMIN
Routing Table: ADMIN
Codes: C - connected, S - static, R - RIP, M - mobile, B - BGP
D - EIGRP, EX - EIGRP external, O - OSPF, IA - OSPF inter area
N1 - OSPF NSSA external type 1, N2 - OSPF NSSA external type 2
E1 - OSPF external type 1, E2 - OSPF external type 2
i - IS-IS, su - IS-IS summary, L1 - IS-IS level-1, L2 - IS-IS level-2
ia - IS-IS inter area, * - candidate default, U - per-user static route
o - ODR, P - periodic downloaded static route
Gateway of last resort is 10.254.144.13 to network 0.0.0.0
10.0.0.0/8 is variably subnetted, 330 subnets, 7 masks
B 10.254.156.104/30 [20/0] via 10.254.144.13, 3d23h
[etc etc]
10.254.144.13 is the next hop for all networks in the ADMIN VRF, this router is not dual attached.
My PC sits behind a firewall outside the MPLS network, the VRFs in the MPLS network rely on a default all-zeros route into the firewall - hence there is not specific route for the subnet my PC is on.
From my PC, I can ping the Loopback1 address, however I cannot get to any management services (ssh, telnet, http or https) via loopback1. When I add a static route for my PC (/32) (or for the entire 10.0.0.0/8 network - which is my current work around), I can then ssh or telnet etc to Loopback1.
Loopback0 (in the global context) works fine regardless of if it's relying on the all zeros route or not.
Anyone seen this before? It appears to be a bug in the IOS that management services do not look at the default route within a VRF?You can generate a default route with the following command:
neighbor 1 default-originate
and you need to have a default route in the routing table. This will get the PE to generate a default route to the CE. -
Difference between ip default-gateway command & a default route
Can any please let me know the difference between ip default-gateway command & a default route. i have a couple 4500 and 2950 for which i need to have a management VLAN as well as their VLAN memberships.
ip default-gateway command is for layer 2, it's how you can access a switch from outside the mgmt interface vlan. Think of this as you would configure and ip address on a PC or a end host, it needs a default-gateway.
A default route on the other hand is for a device that has a lauer 3 capability, this is the gateway of last resort for anything that the device receives to be routed and the destination is not in it's routing table it (the L3 device) sends it to the default route or gateway of last resort.
Since you are referring to 2950 which is strictly a layer 2 device, even if it take dafault route or "ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 x.x.x.x", it will not work, for this device you need to configure default-gateway so that this switch can be reached outside it out subnet, this is given the default-gateway have routes to the rest of the network.

Bgp default route-target filter
Hi folks,
how that command works, and why it don't need to be configured on an ASBR that is functioning as RR?
Thank you very much for your support
Regards
AndreaBy default, a cisco router will filter out prefixes that contain a route-target that is not use locally on that router.
This check is disabled when you configure a route-reflector-client, since the client may need one of those routes.
On an ASBR that IS already a RR, you don't need to mess with this command because the rt filter check is already turned off.
However, if your ASBR is not a RR ( or doesn't have a particular VPN configured locally) and you need to advertise VPN prefixes to another AS, then you need to turn this check off or the ASBR will filter out the prefixes when they are received from its internal peers, so it will not have them to advertise to another else. In this case, you would do a "no bgp default route-target filter" on the ASBR so the routes are accepted even though they will not be used locally.

Reset WLC Module to factory defaults from router cli
I have a wireless lan controller module in a 2811 router that has a previous config and need to reset it to factory defaults from the router cli. Every time I try a "service-module wlan-controller 1/0 reset" I don't see any output on the screen indicating the boot process that would allow me to interrupt it and reset a password.
I tried following this doc but had no luck:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-3668
Anyone have any experience with this?Hi Joe,
Not sure, but this doc does list a couple of different steps

Cisco ASA 5505 VPN Routing/Networking Question
I have a very basic question about Cisco ASA 5505 IPsec Site to Site VPNs. I want to install a Cisco ASA 5505 at a Data Center, in a LAN subnet that utilizes publicly routable IP addresses. I would like to install a second Cisco ASA 5505 in a remote branch office as its peer.
Regardless of whether I use publicly routable IPs at the branch office in the "inside" network or non-routable IPs, how would the devices and servers at the Data Center know to route IP packets destined for the branch office back through the Cisco ASA instead of through the default gateway at the Data Center? I can see accomplishing this if every single device at the Data Center is configured with routing table entries, but that isn't feasible. It also isn't feasible to use the Cisco ASA 5505 as the default gateway for all of the devices as the Data Center, allowing it to decide where the traffic should go.
What am I missing? Is the solution to try to map branch office IPs to IP addresses within the Data Center's LAN subnet so that all of the traffic is on the same subnet? You can do it in several different ways.
One way is to tell the server that if it has traffic to network x then it needs to go to the ASA all other traffic is to head for the default gateway.
In windows this is done via the route command
do not forget to make it "persistent" otherwise the route will disapear when your reboot the server.
in unix/linux
It is also the route command
Or you can tell your "default gateway" to route that network to the ASA
Good luck

Can't connect MacBook Pro to Clear 4G router
I have a mid 2010 MBP running 10.6.8 & recently purchased Clear 4G as my ISP. I bought the Express Hub which works great and connects with every device I have; PlayStation 3, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and both a Win7 & Linux netbooks. Only my MBP won't stay connected to the Clear router. Contacting their support simply blames the notebook, but they say a driver isn't necessary and they don't know of any issues with OS X and their service. Security on the router is set at WPA2 PSK with AES encryption. Never had an issue connecting to any access point before. Any thoughts?
Absolutely, my MBP is up to date with drivers, software, etc. like I mentioned, I never had an issue connecting elsewhere either, and I travel with my MBP.
By default, the Clear router is WPA2 PSK with TKIP encryption, however I know AES is more secure, but neither get me connected. I even whitelisted my MBP MAC address in case of any IP issues, but still nothing. Seems WEP is the only (other than completely open) authentication it'll handshake with through this router. I know, it's something, but WEP is like an unlocked door to your home. -
Is there *any* way to ping MIDlet using default SMS/call (j2me)
Hi,
I'm writing a server style MIDlet which is polling a bluetooth device, the nature of the server is such that the phone running the MIDlet (in my case, a Motorola L6) is dedicated, it needs do nothing other than run the server, it is assumed it will not be used for anything else. Specifically the only phone calls or SMS messages it receives should be specific ping requests to server. The server will run 24/7, and should be resistant to being suspended by incoming calls (I've noted this could be a problem in itself).
All I really want is for a 3rd party, without any special client software, to be able to ping the server (prompt it) to dispatch a set of text data to a pre-defined phone number via SMS (using WMA TextMessage).
Basically someone should be able to set up the server, and then, with any phone (with no specific client MIDlet installed), be able to call or SMS the server and get a response posted back (to a fixed number, not necessarily to originating phone number).
Does anyone know any way, no matter how hacky (needn't be pretty), to achieve this? You cannot receive SMS notifications on default port. An incoming call will call pauseApp which I could use - but not resume it, so server remains suspended. There are ways around having app suspended on receipt of call/SMS, but they involve never receiving the pauseApp notification, so I'm back to square one. I've wondered if I could check the free disk space on the MIDP profile (somehow) to 'detect' when it reduces in size, thus suggesting an SMS must have come in. Can a user send an SMS to a specific port with standard SMS-send interface (certainly can't see how myself, as no ':' character available). Can you hack the phone to re-route incoming SMS messages to something other than the default port?
Is there a specific phone that might do this (I just need a phone supporting j2me bluetooth API, needn't be motorola L6)?.
I think this can be done with Symbian (of which I know very little), and ultimately I might need to start programming with that, but I'd really prefer to continue using j2me..
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, I've spent a fair bit of time trolling for answers with only limited success.
Cheers
Edited by: bbloff on Oct 10, 2007 8:50 PMThe tunnel default gateway is needed to let the internal firewall and router handle the routing for all decrypted IPsec packets. Today, after a Cisco IOS? EasyVPN Client connects to a Cisco IOS EasyVPN Server, there is no simple way for the client to send the tunnel traffic to the internal corporate network (other than to have the entire routing table on the IPsec gateway). In this type of implementation, the Cisco IOS routers use the default gateway to route all packets toward the Internet that do not have a more specific route. The tunnel default gateway gives customers the flexibility to control how they handle IPsec tunneled traffic

IPhone 5 WIFI works half a day with any router it hasn't seen, then stops completely.
I was syncing some music through WIFI over my phone about a week ago and the WIFI cut out about halfway through syncing about 10 albums. The list of networks shows the network, with full bars (everything I've done to attempt to fix it has been done within 5 feet of the router), and when you attempt to click Join, it either spins the cogwheel for 30 seconds or gives you the unable to join network pop-up.
I have:
Reset the iPhone
Reset the router
Reset the iPhone's network settings
Restored the iPhone from a backup
Restored the iPhone to factory defaults
Tried the router in different security settings, WEP, WPA, WPA2, and security completely disabled
Changed the channel on the router
Tried a few different router firmwares, including the latest
Switched to another Linksys WRT54G that I own and it wouldn't work either.
Switched from a Linksys WRT54G to a Netgear router. It worked great with the Netgear for about half a day and upon waking up this morning, the problem is back and identical. I've tried everything on this router that I did on the previous Linksys and it is still broken.
Going to run into the Apple store today and see what they say. Everything's pointing to the phone. Not sure if the latest firmware has flummoxed the WIFI, or if my launch iPhone's WIFI has cut out. I'm just scared because it will join new networks for a short while before it quits and when they test it, it'll probably pickup their network. Think I'm going to take my router into the store with me, but I'm unsure how much actual router knowledge their support will have. Wish me luck!If the problem is with every wi-fi network the iPhone has access to and connects with after restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem with the wireless card or with something else.

I am quite new and haven't worked before with Cisco router. I have a Cisco 3620 router with only one ethernet interface (FastEthernet 0/0).
I want to configure it so that the router will have ip address of 192.168.2.2 (255.255.255.0). I am not using DHCP so all the machines in the network are configured manually.
My running-config is as follows.

Can someone give advise on what should I use for default-gateway, default-network and route?
I want to use name-server which has class B ip address. 131.x.x.x.
If my router can route all the traffic to 131.x.x.y (gateway in the same LAN as router) then I can connect to Internet.
Can someone tell me how to do this?
Regards,
Amar.Hi
i feel u need to have 2 ethernet interfaces in your router to have the reachability to the 131.x.x.x series from your local lan which is in 192.168.2.x series..
eventually u need to deploy nat to have this kinda access in place...
if you got to have that you can configure one of your interface on 131.x.x.x series and configure it as a nat outside interface and keep faeth0/0 as ur inside interface.
you need to configure up a access list and also the necessary overloading to achieve the connectivity.
i think this link will def help u out to find more details about the scenario and config details about which i m mentionining over here..
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk361/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094831.shtml
And again you can have the ip reachability using normal static ip route in your box..pointing to the ip which can be used to go out to the public/outside world..

Cisco 2811 Router with 3 ADSL card and load balancing
Dear All,
I have few queries:
1. Does Cisco 2811 Router support 3 ADSL card?
2. We are the ISP. I want to do load balancing with 3 dsl
line on Cisco 2811 Router.
Please send me the linke for this configuration.
Thanks/Regards
Atulhi
In 2811 you have 4 HWIC and 1 NME you can install 1-port ADSL WAN Interface Cardon the HWIC slots.
Also just enable 3 default (equal cost) routes towards the interfaces which will take care of the load balancing.
if you need more info and inputs do post out with ur requirements along with network topology in place at present..

Very strange problems withWRT54gl router
I have a wrt54gl v1.1 with a wusb54g wireless adapter. Both computers are running windows XP. I have a cable connection with Comcast. The cable modem is set up through my computer. I've had both since Oct. 2006. Just in the last 2 months have these problems occurred, and gotten worse.
Now to explain the problems.
First the internet connection will slow down, then drop out completely. The last 2 days it just drops out, no warning. Before just resetting the router would work for awhile. Now it needs to be reset multiple times a day. No telling how long the connection will last, 5 minutes, an hour, etc. But the strange thing is, I have utorrent running constantly and that connection still worked, just couldn't browse the web. The past 2 days that hasn't been the case though. Utorrent will drop out too.
Second, my settings for the router were getting reset, even before physically reseting the router. I set up utorrent in port forward and triggering. Also set up a static IP. Changed passwords, even my time zone gets reset. At least once a day I have to set it all up again. Its the same as above as far as being unpredictable.
I understand resetting the router changes the settings back to default, but these get changed before I physically reset.
Any help is greatly appreciated and any more info that will help I'll gladly let you know.
ThanksPeer-to-peer (P2P) programs, like utorrent, are known causes for router slow downs and disconnections. As a test, stop using utorrent, then reset router to factory defaults, then setup router again from scratch. Do not use utorrent for a week. See if your problems resolve. Also, to keep your neighbors from running P2P on your router, secure your wireless network.
You said your router settings were changing. Are you running an unsecured wireless network? Is your router password still "admin". If so, perhaps your neighbor is changing your settings. -
Policy Based Routing with VPN Client configuration
Hi to all,
We have a Cisco 2800 router in our company that also serves as a VPN server. We use the VPN Client to connect to our corporate network (pls don't laugh, I know that it is very obsolete but I haven't had the time lately to switch to SSL VPN).
The router has two WAN connections. One is the primary wan ("slow wan" link with slower upload 10D/1U mbps) and it is used for the corporate workstations used by the emploees. The other is our backup link. It has higher upload speed - 11D/11U mbps, (fast wan), and thus we also use the high upload link for our webserver (I have done this using PBR just for the http traffic from the webserver). For numerous other reasions we can not use the `fast wan` connection as our primary connection and it is used anly as a failover in case the primary link fails.
The `fast wan` also has a static IP address and we use this static IP for the VPN Client configuration.
Now the thing is that because of the failover, when we connect from the outside using the VPN Client, the traffic comes from the`fast wan` interface, but exits from the `slow wan` interface. And because the `slow wan` has only 1mbps upload the vpn connection is slow.
Is there any way for us to redirect the vpn traffic to always use the `fast wan` interface and to take advantage of the 11mbps upload speed of that connection?
This is our sanitized config

Error in LSMW, when creating Routing - QP01
Hi All,
I am facing problem when executing LSMW, I am creating Routing through standard Batch input method, the problem is that on 13th step when system asks for creating batch input session, system by default takes filename.lsmw.conv, 'filename' is basically the name of file being converted internally by the system.
Error that I get is 'No profile with entry tool for task list / / / in session ROUTING_CREA', here ROUTING_CREA is the name of the session. I have given the value of field profile in 5th step when we map the fields and give some constants value for fields when required. I have given a constant value for field profile(BIPKO-PROFIDNETZ) in data maping. Profile basically contains some default values for routing when we create routing we can give the profile and routing will capture some default field values from the profile, under profile there is a check box which is 'entry tool' that must be in active mode if operation level data is required. I have done this setting going into SPRO. Now I do not know Whether the error that I got is due to the profile problem or am I missing something else. Kindly If someone before me has already been through this problem then suggest me how to fix this problem.
Regards,
Ashokhi,
i think, the error is due to file naming convention in SPECIFY FILE step.
There will be a set of types of files.
1. Presentation server file name.
2. Application server file name.
etc. just double clock on the application server file name & try to change & give some meaningfulname.
try & let us know.
Thanks,
