Default Apple app got stucked in "waiting" mode...

Hi there all, I recently created a problem that I cannot solve on my own so hoping someone else here were able to find the workaround.... As I am quite new with Mac I still did not manage to have the replacement of SyncFolders for iTunes on PC (via Automator actions on Mac) working so I am still trying to add new music folders manually. Yesterday I did, by mistake, add the folder where there were Mac backup files digged deep and it happened that iTunes also added standard Apple "apps" into my app library - those named "Contacts", "Photos", etc. - all of them with blank icon. As I have my iPhones/iPad set to "sync over wifi" and "add downloaded apps automatically", it happened only a few minutes when I realised that my iPad is trying to sync those from library - I have stopped that, deleted all those blank "dummy" apps from my library, but I got stucked with one "app" trying to download on my iPad. Obviously I cannot say which "app" it is - just a blank icon in "waiting" status... I have tried the techniques discribed here in other threads (i.e restarting iPad with power+home button), but as they all refer to standard apps from App Store, none of them solved my problem... Any clue how to get rid off that??? Thanks a lot for any help in advance!!!

Sounds like you are doing something completely unsupported.
Might have better luck posting in the iPad or iTunes for MAC forums.  The iPhone forums really isn't the place to discuss iTunes or iPad issues.

Try downloading in iTune (computer) and sync to iPad.

  • HT4623 After requesting updates for several apps on my ipad 2, yesterday, the screen image of the app continues to say "waiting." Each app is stuck in waiting mode. help

Yesterday, I was updating several apps in the app updates section in the app store icon. I requested update for Facebook and two other apps. Now those apps are stuck or frozen. Under the icon on the screen it says, "waiting." On the store app page screen, it says, "instaling." I cannot get into either of those apps. What do I need to do to unfreeze my facebook and the other app? Thanks, gracefromok

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
    If that doesn't work:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

    hello

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
    3. Repeat the process if necessary.

Apps hanging up on update stuck in wait mode on desktop iPad mini

All of these suggestions have worked for other users in the past, try them in order and maybe one will work for you.
    "Waiting apps"
    1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
    2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first.
    4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. Apps may also be able to be deleted in Settings>General>Usage>Storage if you cannot get the X to pop up on the icon.
    6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
    7. If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • IPhone 4 - apps stuck in waiting mode for a week or more

I have an iPhone 4.  After the most recent iOS update, I have three apps on my phone that are stuck in "waiting" mode.  I can't start them, I can't delete them, they don't show up on my iTunes.  I've emailed apple twice and they just ignore me  Thanks for contacting support.  We'll get back to you NEVER.

Are you on wifi?   You can always sync with your PC if the apps are local and that would speed it up dramatically.

I have two apps that are stuck in "waiting" mode. I've tried EVERYthing suggested online; nothing's working. I've rebooted the phone, looked up the app in the store (where it just says "Open," meaning I can't uninstall it), etc. Help!!!

If you still cant download and are getting an error code..google can usually tell you how to fix any of them.
if nothing works...email itunes theyre the only ones that can actually delete something out of your downloads..you can delete it but itll just keep showing up. If you bought it recently they might be able to give u a refund for it if it doesnt download. Either way i'd get it out of your queue if its a problem. It might mess up your other downloads.

  • HT201269 transferring apps from iphone 4 to iphone 5s, apps stuck in waiting mode

I just upgraded from iPhone 4 to iPhone 5s, and while retrieving my backed up information, half of my apps have been stuck in "waiting" mode for two days.  Should I start over, or does it really take that long to transfer my apps to the new phone?

Are you on wifi?   You can always sync with your PC if the apps are local and that would speed it up dramatically.

  • APPS stuck in waiting mode

Been over a week now and my apps are still in 'waiting' mode. Is there a way to fix this without having to do a re-set? My iPod is either a 2nd or 3rd Gen. Kinda confusing which version I have. My sales receipt says 3rd but serial # indicates 2nd. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you mean without doing a reset of your ipod, you can go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset Network Settings. That's been known to work.
Otherwise a [reset and/or restart|http://www.apple.com/support/ipodtouch/assistant/ipodtouch/#section_2] of your touch would be my next try. That's not the same as a Restore, btw, where you wipe off your data. It's more like rebooting your computer or turning it off and on.
    Hope that helps.

  • App install stuck between waiting/installing

    Hi All,
iPad3 (Retina) with 3G (64gb), I tried to install an app and it got stuck on waiting, after investigating I'd found it was because my iTunes account had an expired card on it so I've fixed that.
The app is currently on my 09 MBP ready to sync. When I tick the app and sync it, it says 'installing' and the blue bar works its way across, then it goes back to "installing" with the blue bar blank.
I untick it and it won't remove it, it just sits at "Waiting".
    ** Things I've tried **
    - Add/Remove the app via Sync
    - Sign in/out of iTunes
    - Hard reset
    - Settings > Reset > All
    - Sign out of iTunes, Airplane On, Reboot, Airplane Off, Sign in.
I'm out of options short of a full factory restore which seems extreme for one tiny app.
    Any help would be appriciated.

    Try a System Reset:
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.
A System Reset does not remove any apps, music, movies, etc. nor does it cause any settings to revert back to default.
Also, you might wish to download the iPad-2 User Guide. Pay special attention to page 162. Note that this Guide also applies to the iPad-1 with IOS 4.3 except for those functions that are not supported by the hardware.

Finally, the User Guide can be downloaded at no charge via iBooks and a less comprehensive version of the Guide is included as a Safari bookmark.

  • Why are my apps are stuck on waiting?

i was trying to update twitter and instagram and then they both got stuck on waiting! ive already restarted my settings, turned my phone off then back on, signed in and out of my apple id, ive held down the sleep and home button to restart my phone or whatever and the apps are still stuck on waiting. im trying to stay away from restarting my entire phone but thats what the conclusion is coming to for me. Someone please help me find a resolution to my problem!!!!????

I know you didn't want this answer but unfortunately if you have tried everything.
It is time to restore your phone.
However, you can back up your phone to iCloud and then after the full restore, when it asks how you want to set up your phone, choose, "Restore from iCloud Backup." Those may not be the exact words it says but it is close to that.
Once you restore from iCloud backup, all your apps and settings should be downloaded to your phone.
