Default Application setting for Browsing Internet

Hi there,
I try to change the defaut application for browsing internet to opera. but I don't see it takes effect. Can anyone kindly advise?
I try change xhtml&xml and text html. as well.
the only place I see it take effect is open the link in email. and no other place(not sure if I missed any place). e.g. search widget still open the default browser, nokia drop also still open default browser.

Default map setting for Whatsapp 'My position'

I installed Whatsapp on my 9800 torch some weeks ago. In the beginning, the 'My position' function of Whatsapp used Google Maps which I liked and was OK for me.
Some time later, I had some issues with Whatsapp (can't remember what it was) so I un-installed and re-installed it. Since then - or a bit later - the 'My position' function of Whatsapp uses BlackBerry Maps instead of Google Maps - but I prefer Google Maps. I tried to find where the default map application (BlackBerry Maps or Google Maps) can be set for Whatsapp but I couldn't find anything.
So I un-installed (deleted) BlackBerry Maps on my smartphone hoping that Whatsapp would use Google Maps instead, but it didn't... I was now just getting a static map in which the position of the sender is not even marked at all...
I have now re-installed BlackBerry maps from the website - through my device's browser - http://us.blackberry.com/smartphones/features/blackberry_maps.jsp - but though the download and installation seemed to be OK, I can't find the BlackBerry Maps icon on my device anymore and Whatsapp's 'my position' is still showing the static map described above...
Can anyone give me a hint where the default mapping application for Whatsapp can be set to Google Maps?

Enter Whatsapp application. When you press the menu button (the one with BlackBerry logo) you can change the configuration of Whatsapp, including the default map application.

[SOLVED] pcmanfm lost default applications settings for office docs

I'm not sure if it was the Libreoffice recent update or not, but I no longer have any application settings for office documents (ppt, doc, xls, ods, odp, odt, etc.). When I right click to choose an application, none are listed. I tried the suggestion from the wiki to install gnome-menus but the situation was no better after a logout/login.
Even inputting a custom command like:
/usr/bin/soffice --impress %f
does not work. It seems that the "Open with" dialog is completely function-less.
Any suggestions/experience with this?

I fixed this. I just had to figure out the correct mimetypes and re-add them. I still believe this used to be down automatically, but not a big deal. Part of my problem was trying to use xdg-mime to set defaults for "application/ppt" when it's really "application/powerpoint."
I found this list of mimetypes that was really helpful for setting defaults for .doc, .xls, and .ppt.
There are also listings for the correct mimetypes for .odt, .ods, and .odp. In the end, my ~/.local/share/applications/defaults.list looks like this:

What is the default/factory setting for the brightness on the iPhone 4?

I prefer to have default/factory settings for my iPhone 4. Someone moved the brightness slider and I would like to change it back. A screenshot would be rather preferred.

Just set it to a level that is comfortable for you. Why does it matter if it is the "default" position?

Want to change default border setting for inserted subreports

hi -- When I insert a subreport into a main report, its default borders (all 4) are set to single. I want them all to be
None... and I've read that the default is None. But that's not what I'm getting.
How can I change the default border setting / restore it to what it's supposed to be?

Go to your home folder -> Library -> Preferences. Locate the file com.apple.Finder.plist and trash it. Then control-option-click Finder's Dock icon and select Relaunch. All Finder settings will now be back to the OS X defaults.

What happened to the default folder set (for your own libraries) in Edit/Preferences, in Adobe Photoshop CC?

Once again I come to my computer, and it's not the way I left it. While I love cloud, I think in some way, the concept of Customer Service i.e. Providing a Service to a Customer "Set Service, for a Set Price" has lost the value of "service"
I find it extremely disheartening, to always be dealing with changes Adobe makes, it costs me an exorbitant amount of time. I don't work with a team, so it's just me. And every other week, there is some changes, when my 3D quite working in CS6 I had no forewarning, just woke up one morning and "Poof" no more 3D, the software turned off the feature in my CS6, however, it did work in CC.
The things I find most disheartening
features quit working with NO PRIOR WARNING.
Plug-ins, libraries what, now have to be stored in the cloud in order for MY system to automatically see them?
Again No Default Libraries on our machines ( unless you think I'm going to store 2 Terabytes of libraries on the cloud and/or in my AppData Directory *not* Nothing but system/program files themselves go on my Primary drive, everything else is on external drives, this is a security issue and one I'm not about to change, nor should anyone have to change it, since it is a *best practices* standard.
I still can't access items in (for instance: Color Themes created on Kuler, are available on my computer, but not for me to put them into a library on the cloud. I have over 100 color themes there I have created, on my Creative Cloud account, why can they not be imported or drag/drop into the library designated for it. When I log into my Cloud Account on My iPad it is the same cloud account as on my PC, yet it doesn't even see my previously created color scheme's? Why? Does anyone have any ideas?
I use a font manager for Windows called High-Logic, a Font Manager, Creator and a Scanner for Hand Writing Fonts Great Program, I've had it for over a year, while there is no plugin for Photoshop there is for In-Design and for Photoshop, I use the Font Manager on my computer to activate the font I want and it shows up in the Character Tool Box automatically. Yet, just in the last week, every time I try and create something in Photoshop, I'm fine, until I go to use a font, at which time, my working project goes "dark" ( no longer visible) until I click on another tool in Photoshop.
I cannot keep having these issues, it's way too time consuming, it's exorbitantly time consumer attempting to get a response to questions in the forums (no one's fault, it's just the nature of the forums themselves)

I did try limiting the permissions to not allow Adobe to update the software automatically, however, the permissions I wrote, were in fact re-written by adobe's cloud synchronization, Which I did find disturbing on a few levels. None of which I'll go into, but it needed to be mentioned that *yes, I tried that too*.
*I ended up re-configuring my machine AGAIN* and deleting CS6 altogether, The performance change after I deleted CS6, was/is the difference and why I am still with my cloud membership.
**I have reconfigured my machine numerous times, to facilitate the cloud, I am on a PC, Adobe and Microsoft Development Environments do not play well together, I ended up removing them altogether and creating a vm for them and basically all my development work. And have twice since reconfigured it for various reasons.

One of the reasons that Edge fonts and web fonts are though to be preferable to the old font stacks was because of Android tablets/smartphones only having the Droid font family available, (Android 4.3 added the Roboto font family also).
This meant that Android device users defaulted to the 'Droid' font or a user installed font. The default font if the user had installed a custom font and set it as default, could be anything, (even a comic script font) thus possibly destroying your text and/or layout completely.
If you are not using an Edge font or a downloadable font do not forget to set the last three fonts in your font stack to -
'...., Roboto variant, Droid variant, default font'

I probably understood your question wrong.
I was somehow assuming you were referring to classification data.. Sorry abt that.
The tax data gets populated automatically while creating the material master.
Th key lies in configuration.. You would have to use Tcodes OVK1, OVK4 to define the material and the tax categories by country
The tax data is populated by the assignment that you make in OVX6.. I believe.. assigning plants t Sales org. Th country code defined in the plant OX10 is used to determine the tax data and once you customize this part.. You should start seeing the tax data populate when you use that sales org while creating MM

What is default terminal setting for "safe sleep" for iMac C2D

I happened to use a widget for "deep sleep" which frankly I decided I did not need. Of course, after trashing same per the widget directions - the widget had changed a "setting" effecting sleep on the computer. Silly me.
There was an article in MacWorld last fall about "3" being the safe sleep mode to set a laptop (recent) from the terminal command line...but no reference to the iMac .

Not a major crisis, just want to set the "sleep code" number back to how the unit shipped from Apple!

When I had the widget installed, I set it for "deep sleep" if I recall properly. After deciding to trash the widget and its preference file, I noticed that when I put the computer to sleep via the "apple" menu - the light on the monitor quickly went out entirely.
Although I could still "rouse" the computer the by tapping the keyboard etc., the wake up process was extremely slow - in fact, the computer opened up to a gray version of the desktop ...followed by a progress bar...which when completed...opened the desktop to its full Apple glory.
Perhaps, the widget set the computer to the hibernate mode - etc. I actually set the computer back to "0" via the terminal command...but since I didn't know the original default setting, I thought I'd ask...and sadly, I could not find the answer anywhere...hence the query to Apple users.

Default printer setting for users

Hi,
We have a requirement.
User wants to get the print out at his own desk.
Can we set up like the print out should go to the printer assigned to perticular user who execute the transaction.
If user X is assigned to printer 123. and Y is to 456. the printer should default when he trying to process output (Logical destination). I tried maintaining Output type print parameters as USER PARAMETERS. and a printer is assigned to users own data SU3. but still system is asking for output device to assign while processing.

O/P is ZF12 and it is for printing Shippment TAG, in T code VT01N.
But i feel the solution might be general not specific to output type. any way it is not a standard form.
Can we create new condition record using Output device from SU3.
If it is possible also is there any other method to achieve this.

Urgent Hyperion Planning default application setting

Hi Hyperion Gurus,
Is there any way in which admin can set the default setting of a planning application.
Say I want my display option as thousand separator as comma
decimal seperator as decimal
negetive sign as red.
I know that the new user can login and set these properties by himself on first login
But is there way in which admin can set these setting globally so each user don't need to go and select him/her preference.They can be set globally.
Same issue with the FR In User point of View, By default Preview is Off.
Each user need to set it on
Can this be also done globally by a admin

Not sure version you are on.
I am on 9.3.x, adminstartor can set these display options in application settings under adminstartion in a planning application.
Then users can set thier planning preferences to "Use application Default" in display options.

QuickTime and UTube movies stop & start. How can I re-set for slow internet connection?

UTube will start the movie OK, but stops a few seconds in, then buffers the feed?, and then continues. Sometimes it doesn't continue. I have a rather slow dsl connection - ethernet to my 2011 imac running 10.7.5. My question is: Is there some way to re-set the buffer settings so the videos play without stopping?
