DEFAULT BOOKMARK ZOOM

When I combine multiple files into one pdf it creates bookmarks for me automatically, but the zoom setting for each one is "fit width".
There must be a way to change the default setting or change all the zoom settings at once without having to individually select each bookmark and make the change. It is an extremely tedious process and I would appreciate some input.
thanks

  • Changing the default bookmarks save location

    Heya,
If i right-click a website and click "Bookmark this page". It brings up the bookmark panel with the default folder "Bookmarks Menu" is there any way i can change this default ?
"I dont mind if it goes deep into the firefox:config, system or regedit as i am mostly computer savie :)"

You would do better clicking on the bookmark star on the Location Bar.
You can install "Add Bookmark Here2" and probably make modifications in the options.

  • How can I permanently delete the default bookmark toolbar items (getting started, most recent, etc.)?

I can't seem to permanently delete the default bookmark toolbar items. They show up frequently on start-up, even after manually deleting them in a previous session. I use 3.6 x_32 on Linux (for Flash) and 4.0 RC 1 x_64 (for non-flash) sharing the same profile.
I use the X-marks extension and I thought that was the cause the problem, but the problem keeps happening even after deleting all of the the default items in each version and then overwriting my x-marks server data with a forced upload both times.
I'm guessing that x-marks will be most people's prime suspect. I just want to make sure that firefox isn't recreating the items as a default behavior.
I know it's a minor annoyance, but I keep my bookmarks toolbar pretty full. Thanks.

Does it still happen if you temporarily disable Xmarks?
Doesn't it work if you hide the Bookmarks Toolbar?

  • Unresolved bug in adobe reader x with non-default windows zoom level

This seems to have already been brought up here about a year ago: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/776060.
I am using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit with Firefox 12.0 and Adobe Reader 10.1.3. Here is a description of the problem:
Whenever I open any PDF file in a browser (firefox or IE) using the adobe reader I am unable to select text, save the file or interact with the content in any meaningful way because the plugin does not recognise my cursor position. If I click on some text in a PDF document, the reader will immediately highlight a region of text between where I clicked and where it thinks I started clicking from (above 20% of the screen above and to the left of where I actually clicked on the page). If I roll my mouse over the region where the dashboard normally appears, the dash does appear as intended and the cursor changes in response to hover over buttons, as if everything were working, but I am unable to click on anything (clicking does nothing). If I click and hold the dashboard when it appears, it immediately jumps to another region of the page, as if it thinks I moved the mouse (20% up and to the left again). I have recently reformatted and am now using a fresh install, and the issue remains. My desktop zoom level in windows is 150%. The problem appears only inside the browser; viewing PDFs directly in Acrobat Reader X works without issue.
I can resolve the problem either of two ways:
    a) Reverting back to the default windows zoom level (125%).
    b) right-clicking on the Adobe Reader X icon, navigating to the compatibility tab and clicking "Disable Display Scaling on high DPI settings"
The workaround is easy but it's disappointing that adobe hasn't fixed this. Please consider that it would mostly affect individuals who are vision impaired and might not have the know-how to resolve the problem or check for solutions online, let alone post comments such as this. As far as I can tell this problem severely impaires the functionality of adobe in any browser on any non-standard zoom windows installation.

Please be sure to post your issue in the following Feature Request/Bug Report Form.

  • How to get back default bookmarks and bookmarks toolbars?

I would like to get back my default bookmarks and those bookmarks on the toolbar.
Where can I find a file with all the default bookmarks for Safari v4.0.5?

What I mean is the bookmarks that you got when you installed Safari for the first time.
Okay. The following procedure will restore your bookmarks to their default state.
    (1) Quit Safari if you have it open
    (2) Go Start > Open.
    (3) In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
    (4) Click the View tab.
    (5) Make sure that Show hidden files and folders is selected.
    (6) Click OK.
    (7) Go Start > Computer.
    (8) In Computer open Local Disk C:
    (9) Open the Users folder.
    (10) Open the folder with the name of the Vista user account in which you want to have default bookmarks showing for your Safari.
    (11) Open the AppData folder.
    (12) Open the Roaming folder.
    (13) Open the Apple Computer folder.
    (14) Open the Safari folder.
    (15) Drag the Bookmarks plist file out onto your desktop.
Now launch Safari. That should rebuild the Bookmarks plist file, and you'll be seeing the default bookmarks and Bookmarks bar settings.

  • Adobe Acrotbat X - when combining files, set the default bookmark to "full page" view

When combining multiple pdf files into a single file using the "Combine supported files in Acrobat.." feature (right click menu in explorer), the combined document contains bookmarks for each of the combined files - so far, so good.
However, all of the book marks are set to show a "page width" view of the file - no good.  I need to set the default bookmark to show the "full page" view when clicked.
I need to set this up as a default as there are too many bookmarks to go back and change individually.
How do I do this?  Either as a default, or to globally change the display view once the file is created?
Windows XP, Adobe Acrobat Pro X, version 10.1.4

Not possible with Acrobat. The defaults cannot be changed, and there is no way to alter the action of an existing bookmark via scripting so it can't be automated without a custom plugin (I don't know of one that does it out of the box).

  • NOT with an addon. How do I PREset/ default @ 90% zoom. Opera has such a setting and it's simple to set.

small screen, always having to set the usual 100% down to 90%. need it preset to 90%, not from an addon. other browsers do simply allow to preset a desired zoom level, at any percentage.

The above mentioned extensions allow to set a default global zoom factor that you can set via the Options/Preferences button of the extension in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions".
If you do not mind that the user interface also changes then you can adjust the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref to 0.90
You can set the <b>layout.css.devPixelsPerPx</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page to 1.0
You can adjust layout.css.devPixelsPerPx starting from 1.0 in 0.1 or 0.05 steps (1.1 or 0.9) to make icons show correctly.
You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location/address bar.
You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

  • How to increase Firefox default page zoom setting?

Changed my computer's default DNS server from Comcast to OpenDNS.
A side effect, webpages appear in Firefox as if I had reduced them via the Ctrl minus keys. To get back to a comfortable appearance I now have to hit Ctrl plus keys.
Anybody know how to set Firefox default page zoom to a larger setting? Thank You.

    Try in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config about:config]
    and change [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Zoom.maxPercent zoom.maxPercent]
type in the address bar '''about:config'''
then press the button '''i'll be careful i promise'''
then type in the bar '''zoom.maxPercent'''
then '''right-click''' on it, select''' modify''', type a value greater than the current(i can't tell specific because i don't known how zoom you want), click '''OK,'''
    exit firefox and restart-it.

  • Deploy default bookmarks for new users

How can I deploy default bookmarks that will be used for every new user profile with Firefox 6 or 7?
    I tried to place a bookmarks.html or a places.sqlite file in
\mozilla firefox\defaults\profiles, but none of them seems to be used when creating the new profile. (However, default\profiles isn't ignored generally, since a localstore.rdf file placed in the same directory actually does get used.)
    Thanks,

In the web.xml file for the InfoViewApp, which in the case if you are using Tomcat, is "Program Files\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewApp\WEB-INF".
    Find the parameter entry:
<!-- The default home page -->
        <context-param>
            <param-name>homepage.default</param-name>
            <param-value>/jsp/listing/home.jsp</param-value>
        </context-param>
change the <param-value> entry from "/jsp/listing/home.jsp" to "/listing/objectList.do"
    so now it should read:
        <context-param>
            <param-name>homepage.default</param-name>
            <param-value>/listing/objectList.do</param-value>
        </context-param>

  • Modifying Safari's internal default bookmarks for enterprise deployment

I build deployment images for use in a large research facility. The default bookmarks that you get when you launch Safari for the first time are, shall we say, not especially relevant to what users here need. I've built my own set which is a LOT more useful, with some of our important in-house sites as well as outside sites useful for our research.
What I need is a decent way to get them to users. I've been hacking the OS X default user template to write them in each new account when it gets created, but I really don't enjoy hacking around in there. I just figured out how to go inside Safari's application bundle and replace the internal bookmarks file with my own, which seems like a better way (less messy, my bookmarks will return if users trash their preferences, etc.) But, is this safe? Will Software Update blow away my bookmarks? Is this allowed by the license?

    But, is this safe?
No reason why it wouldn't be safe; other organizations do it for their own systems.
Will Software Update blow away my bookmarks?
No. It doesn't blow away any other bookmarks, and they're kept in a separate file anyway.
Is this allowed by the license?
Of course, as long as you have purchased the necessary number of licenses for the machines you have. If not, then you're in violation of federal law.

  • Safari Bookmarks Bar Will Reset to Default Bookmarks on Closing the App

I am able to update my bookmarks, but am unable to retain them after closing Safari. When I reopen the application it reverts back to the default bookmarks. It's happening on both my Mini and Macbook Pro. I've also found the top sites are not retained either after closing.

  • Set Default BookMarks & Home Page

    I am using CentOS-6.4 and FireFox 24.
Upon setup of a PC, I'd like to run a command line script which sets default bookmarks and a default home page for all current and future users. There may or may not be an existing profile when the script is run. Is this possible?

You can initialize the bookmarks via a bookmarks.html file placed in defaults\profile (needs to be created), but AFAIK then there is no way to merge new bookmarks with existing bookmarks via the command line or otherwise apart from importing an HTML file in the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks ).

  • Ken Burns default is "Zoom In" so why does it randomly "Zoom Out?"

I first noticed that the default zoom in was inexplicably and randomly reversing when I applied KB in one go to a bunch of selected stills.
Thinking that applying it to multiple images at once may be the cause, I tested it on a series of single photos.
    The results were similar.
Sometimes the first 3 or 4 would be OK and then random slides would start zooming out. Occasionally the zoom direction would reverse on alternate pictures.
Just in case there was something peculiar about the different clips, I duplicated one several times but still got the random zoom when I applied KB.
I use 2 ways of applying the KB effect to still images but they both give random zoom directions:-
The first method is to select KB using the Crop tool in the Viewer.
This image shows the correct default but the next 3 I selected were all reversed even though I did not touch the "Reverse" button at the top.
The other method is to select KB in the Inspector.
Could some of you try to replicate my random results by testing on at least 6 photos?
More importantly, can you give a reason or suggest a cure (other than telling me to manually adjust each image).

  • Reminder Fox and Default Full Zoom Level have disappeared

Since the last Firefox update (I have Firefox 3.6.11), I have noticed that my Reminder Fox calendar and the zoom add-on are not showing at the bottom of my window, and are evidently not working. When I go to add-ons and click on either one of those add-ons, then click on "options", nothing happens and it quits responding. This is happening on two different computers.

Do you see that extension in Firefox > Add-ons > Extensions ?
Click the orange Firefox button and click Add-ons in the right column to open the Add-ons page in a Firefox tab.<br />
Click the Extensions tab to see all installed extensions.<br />
Look for the "Default FullZoom Level" extension and click the Options button to see the settings of that extension and change the setting to your liking or leave them at the default.
You can find a "Default FullZoom" toolbar button and a few more zoom buttons that you can drag on a toolbar in the toolbar palette in the Customize window.
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

If you do not see the orange Firefox button then open the Tools menu and select Add-ons from that menu.
