Default charge on credit file from 2007

After recently being refused a loan i asked why,only to be told there was a default payment on my record.Upon viewing Equifax the only red flag was related to BT MOBILITY for £30 .going back to May 2007.Having never had a BT account of any kind it transpired that i was sent a SIM card in May 2004 to accompany a mobile i had returned( did not ask for the phone).Despite spending nearly 9 hours on the fone to various departments so far this week ,including the debt recovery company who work for Bt no one can find this account to pay this bill to get the debt removed.Believe me i have tried having spoken to people ranging from the Uk to the Phillipines( credit reference dept)It has now come to light that there was never a bill to pay.This however does not get rid of the default notice.Any advice please as the situation is becoming ridiculous.Need the loan to sustain my small business 

I think you need urgent action from BT to correct your credit file. Send the details to the BT Care Team straight away. They are the moderators who oversee this forum and should be able to get you in contact with the appropriate department. They can take a few days to respond but I'm flagging this thread for their attention.

  • Clearing my credit file

    Hi.
    I'm trying to clear an entry by BT on my credit file from 2009. It was put in error that BT made but didn't show up on earlier checks.
    I have spoken to Equifax and they said I should contact BT about removing the entry but I can't find any direct contact numbers or emails to get someone to do this quickly.
    The entry will come off in September but I really can't wait that long.
    Is there a contact or email address where I can go to and get them to check their notes and see it was in error and have it removed, or if they do think it should be there how I can pay it ans have the entry taken off immediately.

    Thank you for your quick answer. Yes that's the place I am doing the job. And yes I do get a choice to choose between 'Delete from hard disk' or 'Delete from iTunes only'.
    But the 'Delete from iTunes only' is the default setting. I would like to change the default setting to 'Delete permanently (from hard disk too)'. This would enable me to work much quicker by using keys only (Del + Enter) without touching the mouse to change from 'Delete from iTunes only' to 'Delete permanently'.

    If NoFileAssociate is not there, then open the key.  Menu "Edit->New->DWORD(32-bit)value"
    Add NoFileAssociate as shown below:

    Adobe's system is set up to make it VERY difficult to stop charging your credit card AFTER you cancel, CALLED and CANCELED, call and CANCELED AGAIN
    Our annual accountant caught that the charges were still being charged.  Our book keeper (my spouse) thought that Abobe was one of our systems charges and it did not raise a flag until October 2014.  We canceled at the end of MAY 2013 when our off site designer at their own office said that illustrator was better for him for the work we need and we no longer needed to use PSD .  Month to Month means you can cancel when you want.  The agreement is very clear that we can cancel PRIOR TO THE RENEWAL DATE.  ADOBE PS  is a great program, we love it, we DONT love being charged for 27 extra unauthorized months 29.99 = 809.73 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.  Adobe can see the service has NOT been accessed or has not 1 minuet of use time on any dat for 21 months.  When they did not cancel I had a 1 hour 25 minuet RECORDED conversation to cancel the service in November of 2013.  I was assured this time it was canceled and refunded.  We trusted the manager we spoke and did not see the charges for  Our accountant whom filed our personal taxes first week of October 2014 for Tax Year 2013 discovered the charges were still there.
    We have called in October 2014, November 2014, December 2014, January 2014.  Our company attorney said to dispute all charges from first date of cancelation.
    A friend with the SAME issue of Adobe charging after canceling recommended this forum.  ADOBE ARE YOU READING THIS ???

         Adobe will see that not one single minuet of time has been used of their online access from our account.

    I have tried 'Open with' and the version of the program now installed on my computer isn't even suggested as an option and when I browse for it, the file wont open with it anyway

    On Windows (don't know about Mac), the latest version will always take over the file association, and become the default for indd files. It's impossible to change it.
    But there is a plugin for ID that makes this possible. Never tried it myself.

    Is FF downloading the file as a .txt file? If so, go to "Folder Options" in the windows control panel. Click on the "File Types" tab. Scroll down until you reach the TXT file extension. Look to see what that extension opens with (lower part of panel). It probably shows notepad. Click on the <Change> button. Scroll down until you find "Microsoft Word." Select it and click the <OK> button. That should show the TXT extension is now associated with Microsoft Word. Click the <Close> button at the bottom of the panel.
    If FF is downloading the file as any other type, use the same process as above except look for the corresponding extension instead. If the extension is not listed click on the <New> button and create an association using the extension in the file name and then associate it with MS Word.

  • How can I change the default video conversion applied when I copy an AVI file from my PC to my Android HTC One M8 phone?

    Here's the situation...
    I have an Android HTC One M8 phone which I connect via USB cable to my PC, then I use Windows Explorer to drag and drop an AVI file from my PC onto a target folder on the phone. When I would do this after I had first purchased my phone a message box
    would come up with the heading "Convert and Copy" and ask me  "Do you want to convert <filename> before it's copied to your device?" and give me the options "Yes, convert and copy (recommended)" or "No, just
    copy Your file will be copied, but might not play on your device."
    If I chose to convert it converted the file to MP4. No problem, that's what I wanted.
    The problem I now have is that after doing some work with other video applications a while ago where I was outputting WMV files I now find that the default conversion for the above described copy from PC to Android phone now converts files to WMV.
    I simply want it to go back to converting video files copied to my phone as MP4, but I can't seem to find where I can set this!
    It appears that the copy/conversion process in Explorer is being handled in the "Portable Devices Shell Extension" dll - WPDSHEXT.DLL
    Can anyone tell me what I need to do to set the default video conversion back to MP4 ???

    I actually had no clue what the core problem was caused by. So it's Windows itself...that helps some.
    I'll resubmit there. It might actually have saved time for it to simply have been moved to there instead of off-topic, though I suppose you have to follow protocol.

    I have a new iMac on the way and my current is from 2008, never had a problem but I am sure there are internal issues that I would prefer not to transfer.
    I have no issues other then the slowness in certain programs and that is the main reason to buy a new one.
    Programs like numbers and pages seem to take a longer time to open after I update to Yosemite.
    I only use 272GB of 500 GB, my memory is 4GB and I am upgrading to 8Gb and bought the 4.0 processor.
    Question:
    Is there a way to manually transfer items or would that be a waste of time in that if there are issues they could be anywhere and would transfer anyway?

    Look at you purchase history.
    Open itunes, click on your name in the top right corner and go to your account and look.
    BTW, there is no telephone support for itunes at all.
