Default Clients

What exactly does it mean when it says in the SR2 install guide the following:
"If you chose to install an ABAP+Java system in one installation run, AS Java was configured against client 001 during the installation."
What exactly does that mean? and how does that impact things if I have already done all of the post config on client 000

In the left frame choose Server → Services → Configuration Adapter
2. In the tab Display Configuration (right frame) choose Switch between view and edit mode to activate the edit mode.
3. Choose cluster_data → server → cfg → services → Propertysheet com.sap.security.core.ume.service
4. Choose Show the detail of the selected node
5. The parameter ume.r3.connection.master.client must be set to your SAP Exchange Infrastructure client. Adapt the value if necessary.

  • PI 7.0 default client Implications

    Hi all,
We have installed my production server PI 7.0 earlier and it is currently operating for some projects. But the problem is the client on which the production system working now is 001 (i.e default client). This we have just noticed that it is operating in client 001, so do we need to change this default client to some other custom client or is it right if we leave it as such.
    What can be its implication?
    Regards,
    Nithiyanandam

    Hi Pratheek,
S you are right. When we installed the client has been defaultly mapped with 001, But now we are just thinking whether it will have any implications on further activities.
Because it has been provided in SAP HELP as
    Production preparation client (001)
The production preparation client is identical to the SAP Reference client, i.e. you cannot use this client in production processing either. The Customizing settings are made in this client. You Customize it into your test environment.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm32/helpdata/EN/7e/c8189452c511d182c50000e829fbfe/content.htm
Also I refered sap notes 1115280 & 940309 which shows the info as
The integration server is by default installed and configured in client 001. In most cases there is no need to change this and it is not recommended to do so. However, in some rare cases you might have to run your Integration Server client in another client than 001.
So how could it be valid, so do we need to change tht client from 001 to XXX as indicated or we can leave it as such as we are already runnung few transactions in it.

  • Send step with TRANSPORT Ack. fails in BPE after default client change

    Hi all,
I had to change default client in my PI (7.0 sps 13) system from 001 to xxx. I did it according to note 940309.
After this some probelms appears, for example my IPs becomes unworked and I have to repeat automatic customizing for BPE and re-activate in cache my IPs.
But some of them sill doesn't work. I found that this IPs fails on send steps with transport acknowledgements. When I switch off transport ack. in send step, it become works fine.
Please provide me with some solution, because I need transport ack. in my IPs.
    Maxim.

    Additional info:
BPE monitoring shows that send step fails with errors:
    EXECUTE_METHOD_OBJECT_SYNC
Work item 000000057118: Object CL_SWF_XI_SRV_SEND_ASYNCHRON method SEND_ASYNCHRON cannot be executed

  • Transacation log in 2 client after Change PI default client (Note 940309)

    Hi,
I have changed the PI default client follow the SAP note 940309, and then all the transaction working fine, but then i realize that the xml transaction log save in both client. (001 and new client(220)).
    SXMB_MONI
    - Monitor for Processed XML Messages (Got data both client).
    - Processing Statistics (Only new client 220).
    I used PI 7.0 SP 11.
Anybody have same problem with me, Please advise
    Regards
    Fernand

    Hi Fernand,
    You mean XML messages?
    If Yes
then you see the XML messages in both the clients.
Since the program which selects the messages RSXMB_SELECT_MESSAGES
doesnt take the client into consideration.
If we see the code inside..we will find the following..
        LOOP AT rt_mandt INTO rs_mandt.
          SELECT *
            FROM (lv_master) CLIENT SPECIFIED
            APPENDING TABLE ex_msgtab
            WHERE (where_clause)
            AND   mandt      =    rs_mandt-low
            AND   pid        IN   rt_pid
Correct me if i am wrong.
    Cheers,
    Sumit

    Pl correct me.

    > What are the Default Client in R/3 4.7E, ECC5.0 and ECC6.0?
    Check transaction SCC4.
    > ECC stands for what?
    Enterprise Core Components
    > am little bit confused! some r saying three (000,001& 066) n some r saying two (000 & 066).
Check SCC4. Older installation had two clients (000 and 066), newer installation have a default client (001) already installed.

    thanking you

    Hi Siva,
I dont remember the exact parameter but what you need to do is you need to mention that client number in one of the parameters in the default profile. i.e. RZ10 is the Tocde and for the parameters its RZ11.
    Hope it helps you.

  • How to manually retrieve Default Client Settings again

I have a question about Default Client Settings in SCCM 2012.
In our Default Client Settings we've added two AD groups for Viewers of Remote Control and Remote Assistance (Administration>Client Settings>Default Client Settings>Properties>Remote Tools> Permitted viewers and then Set Viewers).
When I logon to a client computer and open Local User manager I can see these two AD groups added to the local group "ConfigMgr Remote Control Users".
For testing I removed one of the member groups that was added.
Now the question; How does the removed group come back to the client? I've ran all the Configuration Manager Actions on the client but this doesn't work. It doesn't add the member which I removed. I also waited 60 minutes to see if it would come back automatically,
but no. Of course I can manually add this group again, but that is not what I want.
Or is the local group for Remote Control only filled the first time the Configuration Manager Client is installed on a computer? Or maybe there is another mechanism which takes care of filling the Remote Control Users group?

Today I added a new AD group to "Viewers".
After that, I ran the machine policy retrieval on my client on which I previously removed a group. After I ran this, de ConfigMgr Remote Control Users group was filled again. This time with 3 AD groups. So the group I removed before was added again and my new
    group was also added.
Conclusion; if I make a change to the Default Client Settings it will push all the settings again to a client. But if you make a change locally, like removing a group, SCCM won't update this group again. It seems it doesn't do a verify on local settings
unless something has changed in SCCM itself. Indeed it seems to imply a bug.

  • Default Client when transporting?

    Hi,
When I am in our DEV system in transaction STMS, trying to transport to QAS system,
a window pops up, where I have to fill in my username+password for the QAS System.
The default client in this window is 000. I would like some other client to be there per default.
How can I do this? We don´t have this problem in several other systems, so I wonder, where to manage this.
I already searched for some notes...
    Thanks and best regards

    Dear Davor,
First of all I am bit confused that why you are in stms in DEV system.
Normally we create transport request in DEV(if that is our domain controller). Then we release it via scode se10/se01/se09.Then we login to QUA and then via tcode stms we import it.
Sometimes we just have to forward the request and I guess you are trying to do this.At that time default client is 000 and it ask for user ID and Password.Give the user ID and Password of the Quality client. If will reflect on the other clients also.
PS: I am not clear about your question and even  if you do as Vani has said while forwarding you still will get default client as 000.(correct me if I am wrong). Know me the result that Vamshi has
    shared.

  • Thunderbird doesn't work as default email client when sharing pdf attachments. Works fine if Mail is the default client

With Tbird set as the default email client, whenever I try to email the pdf, a message pops up that the default client can't handle sending the attachment. It works all the time if the native Mac Mail software is the default client..
This forces me to save the pdf file, go to Tbird to send a message and then have to find the file in the folder structure to add as an attachment.

My PDF software is Adobe Acrobat. So what is wrong with your Thunderbird software I must ask!

  • Opening default Client Email with Attachment

    Hello Everyone,
I am trying to to create an email programmatically, i.e the user clicks on a button and then the default client email(outlook, gmail, hotmail, etc..) opens the "new message" with an excel file attached to it.
I read that using the Java Desktop Api 6 you can open the default client email, with the following code:
Desktop.getDesktop().mail(URI dest = new URI("mailto", "[email protected]", null););However I have not found so far any way to attach a file using this API.
I also saw the JavaMail allows to attach, however I am not user if this is suitable for me as it does not open the default browser.
Has anyone ever done it? I really appreciate any help.
    Thanks.

    BalusC wrote:
In theory, only way is to pass the attachment path as an attribute of the URI, like [email protected]?attachment="c:/passwords.txt", but this is not specified by RFC specification as it is a huge security hole (which might be obvious).
Hey, first of all thanks of your anwer. Actually, i have already tried this as well, but it didnt work. It opens the email without any attachement.

  • Re The default client in SAP

I want to know the basic information of the default client sap*

    Hi,
The client is a technical, structural characteristic of the SAP system. It is not used in the same way by the Business Information Warehouse.
Restriction: In the Business Information Warehouse exactly one client (not 000) is created. For example, in a BW system, it is not possible to create a test client and a productive client as technically separate units with separate master records and an independent record of tables.
You can have multiple clients in BW but you have to work with one.000,001,066 default clients that you have in BW.SAP server allows us to use only one client in BW.
R/3 is Client dependent. ie all tables in R/3 has the MANDT field.
But BW is Client Independent. All the Master Data Tables or the Transaction Data, Data Targets don't have the Client Field (MANDT). So BI cant store data on client specific

  • ITunes 9.0.1 windows 7 and outlook - default client error message in sync

So I've just installed a new copy of the RTM release of Windows 7 (clean install on new PC). I've installed my outlook 2002 and iTunes as well and replicated my settings identically to my old system running on XP.
The problem I'm getting is that everytime I try to synch my iPhone to iTunes, I get the following error message:
Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging requests. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.
Now....I do not use outlook for mail and most IMPORTANTLY, in the iTunes sync Info window for my iPhone, Mail Accounts is unticked so that it should not sync.
Normally, I'd call this a microsoft issue, but I think this is a problem with iTunes and Windows 7 possibly. It looks like iTunes is trying to do something with the mail client even thought I have it configured to ignore mail account synching.
Anyone have this problem and a solution?
I tried doing a detect and repair in microsoft outlook, but the problem is still present.

Ya I had the same problem. Just uncheck all of the outlook boxes and then re-sync. Then recheck them all and re-sync, after that my itunes got hung up on calenders so to fix that just go into preferences, devices and then click reset sync history and you should be all set.
