Default Community for users

Hi,
I am having difficulty setting up what community a user defaults to when they log in.
Currently we have 3 communities setup, when a user logs in for a particular community they are directed to the initial Home page.
Is there any way of getting the portal to display a particular community page instead of the home page?

We are using LiquidSkin theme if that makes any difference..
I created a new experience definition, set this up to use the correct community as the home page and removed the my pages option to ensure the user would hit the right place upon login.
The experience definition seems to work fine by ensuring only the required community is displayed however it still displays the users home location even though I have disabled this in the experience definition.
Could the user be inheriting another experience definition or have I missed something?

i am facing the problem to give default Dashboard for user.i can set my default dashboard from "my account" but is there any other way so that Administrator can give diffrent dashboard to diffrent user as default dashboard ???as in i want user1 can have dashboard1 as default dashboard whereas user2 can have Dashboard2 as default, which admin can set.

Default parameter for users

Hi gurus,
I'd like to know how to assign default values for user parameters in CRM web UI.
For instance I want that each time during navigation an editable field for sales organization is found, my default sales organization (maintained as paramenter in TX SU01) should be automatically filled out.
I tryed with CRM_SALES_ORG, HH_SALES_ORG, WAP_SALES_ORG, BBP_ORG but it does not work.
Any suggestions?

Hello,
I fear this is will be completely up to you.
The only means I can think of are:
1. Client Side: When the BSP is constructed use JS to fill the fields. However I can not imagine how one could possibly identify a sales org field on the UI?
2. Server Side: You could hook yourself into the API that is reading the data from the databases. Whenever a field is empty prefill it. This leads to serious problems as you do not know if the field is readonly on the UI.
Anyway, both ideas are just thoughts and there is absolutely no substance behind them. From my point of view it is simply not possible.
However I would be glad if you came up with a solution, this should be interesting.

How can I set default dashboards for users on startup? I mean always a user start OBI,one (default) dashboard should be shown...How can I set this property? Can anyone tell me in detail?

You can set the default dashboard for user.
After logging with the user in OBI Answers Goto-->Settings on right top corner then click on My accounts and there you will find default dashboard preference where you can set it.

How do I change the default timezone for user calendars?

The default timezone for new calendars is "America/New_York." How
do I change the default timezone to my local timezone?
To change the default timezone, perform the following steps:

file.

"ceSingleCalendarTZID"
parameters. The default settings will appear something as follows:


Changing these two parameters will change the timezone in the Calendar user

You may substitute any text you like for the "Placeholder Text", as it is called, in Pages. Click on the existing placeholder text and type something more to your liking. Do this in as many places as your particular template of interest demands. Then, Format > Advanced > Define as Placeholder Text. Lastly, File > Save as Template.
Now that you have defined a Custom Template to your liking, you can go to Pages Preferences and under the General tab's first section, define the new custom template as your default for each new document.

I want default exucution start date and time with exe. finish date and time in CO11n.

Hi,
I am conf. the order thorugh co11n for manual activity declaration.
I am confirming my production from yesterday's morning 6:00 to todays morning 6:00
so user has to give there execution time and date for showing there production of that day in Zreport.
If it will come as a default user has no need to enter the time or day.
Is it possible?

There's a way to add entries to that table.
Go to the table ESDUS through SE16N and activate the editing mode by entering &SAP_EDIT in the command field. It will give you information message in the bottom "SAP editing function activated" ("Maintain entries" check box will be visible).
Let us examine the ABAP code for the program behind ME5A
DATA: l_action LIKE esdus_s-action VALUE 'RM06BA00'.
CALL FUNCTION 'ME_SET_REPORT_USERVARIANT'
   EXPORTING

     im_esdus_action     = l_action
     im_standard_variant = l_variant.
MOVE l_action      TO my_esduscom-action.
MOVE 'USERVARIANT' TO my_esduscom-element.

Stay in SE16N and in the field "Act." enter RM06BA00 and execute. You'll see all the users who executed the ME5A (a.k.a program RM06BA00) and the default variant SAP selects is "SAP&STANDARD" which is a system variant, in the "Active" field. Change that value to what user want to be defaulted. Keep the value 'USERVARIANT' in the El. field. Click save on the top. It will popup a window records inserted, deleted, changed. Just hit enter.
Now whenever the user executes it will be defaulted to whatever you rewrote in the table.
Caution: Do not use &SAP_EDIT with other tables especially which share common primary keys it can serious problems in your database.

Sales office default value for user

Hi Gurus,
Is it possible to have the sales office value ex. GBHP as a default on a user account so that whenever user creates any type of order this value GBHP is fetch in document everytime by default.

Ok.
Than Goto Su01 by giving their user id in which you want to set default value.
See path Su01>change mode>parameters tab>than add VKB and give default value what you want to populate automatically.and come out with save.
PS:you may need to do same for each users.

Should Default Tablespace for User DIP be "SYSTEM" or "USERS"?

Oracle Enterprise Manager is giving me a warning about some non-system users who have a default tablespace of SYSTEM. One of the users is DIP. Is it OK for me to change the default tablespace for DIP to USERS, or should it remain SYSTEM?

To the best of my knowledge user DIP was created automatically by Oracle software when I upgraded my database from 8i to 10gR2. In my mind that means it is needed for managing some system function in the database. That is why I hesitate to change the default tablespace from SYSTEM to USERS.
If user DIP is tied to use of Oracle Directory Integration and Provisioning then I am not knowingly using the DIP account. I do not know what Directory Integration and Provisioning is and read about it only when researching this tablespace question. That being said, I expect that Oracle software does a lot of things internally that I am not aware of.
I was hoping someone familiar with user DIP could tell me that changing the default tablespace to USERS for this Oracle supplied account would do no harm.

RR overview as default screen for users

We are using SNC5.1. We have implemented customer collaboration.I am looking for the following
1. Whenever any user login in SNC, the RR overview screen should appreared as default.
2. We want to hide GTIN column in RR overview and it should be applicable for all users. Means the layout should be same for all users.

2. We want to hide GTIN column in RR overview and it should be applicable for all users. Means the layout should be same for all users.
Login to Web UI and go to address bar of the Web page.
Now replace sap-language=EN with sap-config-mode=X then press enter.
go to R/R overview and right click on GTIN field then click on user setting.
Now remove GTIN from table and click save and close button.

Set default timezone for users

Hello all,
I am looking a for a way to set the default timezone of a user on the Portal. What needs to be done is to read the user's local time on the pc and set the timezone on the Portal accordingly. Does SAP provide any solution for the same?
I am aware that this can be achieved through custom development, but would like to check if anyone has faced similar issues before and if there exists a standard solution from SAP that I can implement.

Here is the problem though. Our employees are all over the globe and travel all over the globe. We use an LDAP as the UME source. Setting the default time zone via either of those method will blanket apply to all users. This leaves there UWL items in the wrong time and their KM content in the wrong time, sometimes indicating that something posted just minutes ago was actually posted "Yesterday".
I think what we need ultimately is a client aware solution. Perhaps a java program that gets the users client or browser time and updates their time zone in the UME on the fly.
Anyone know of such a solution?

Default currency for user

I have a parameter field p_waers that I want to fill default with the currency of the actual user.
I have tried via T001 but that needs the BUKRS as key which I do not have.
Any suggestions ?

Use GET PAAMETER ID 'FWS' field w_fws. But the parameter ID FWS has to be maintained in the User profile.
To do this Goto System->User Profile->Own data.
Add the parameter value under the Parameters tab.

CUP user import: what XML field to use to set default ACLs for user?

Can someone please tell me what XML tags to use within the import file (via CUP) to set the default Document and Folder ACLs respectively to Public and Protected.

Default environment for user Oracle when launched from Scheduler?

Hi:
This is probably pretty basic but I haven't found the answer yet. I'm trying to run an import job using imp from Scheduler. I've modified the file $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/externaljob.ora so that the jobs are running as user oracle. If I echo the result of 'whoami' in the program it indeed says I'm oracle, but ORACLE_HOME etc. are not set. Is this intentional? I would think that it runs the .bashrc etc. to get the proper environment for the user.
