Default custom profiles

Hi all,
Is there a way to default a custom profile instead of the Standard UCM form when there's a new check-in in projects, folders, etc..? without of course a custom component?
Thanks

Hi,
Yes thanks for the suggestion, it's nice to know I can do that and I'll keep it in mind for future reference (it really is useful to know that) but it doesn't really solve the problem of defaulting a custom profile for the whole system.
I thought maybe by using the redirection option but there's so many places the check-in service is called that im not too sure this would be a good solution.
I guess I'll be leaving standard alone.
Thanks

  • Customizing profile and copying to default

what is the best way to customize a profile and copy that to the default?
What I have been doing is
login as an admin, customize the desktop, settings, themes, etc... then log out
login as another admin user,  delete the Default user profile under c:\Users\Default
rename the Admin folder to Default
Go under the Default and remove the User.dat file
how else would you do it?

The only supported method for customizing the default user profile in Windows Vista and newer is to use the CopyProfile setting with Sysprep. This is the only way to ensure that all user-specific
information is properly removed from the profile and to ensure that new user accounts created from the default user profile are properly directed to their own, unique resources. Your error with new user profiles being directed to the Administrator profile’s
resources is a perfect example of this.
Once you have created a default user profile through this method and the profile has been cleaned of profile specific elements, that default user profile can be copied and moved to other locations
for use as a default user profile. For example, it can be used as a network default user profile, or a mandatory profile.
    The
link provided by arnavsharma provides the details for all of this.

  • Advice for Creating a Custom Default User Profile in Windows Enterprise 8/8.1 Preview

Just after some advice on the Best way to create a custom Default User Profile for our Windows 8 Enterprise Image.
We are also looking at the Windows 8.1 Enterprise preview so advice on creating a Default User profile for this would also be appreciated.
    My Requirements are listed below
-Pinned Web sites that open in Windows 8 App style IE
    -Default Windows 8 pre-installed Apps
-The Microsoft Lync Windows 8 Client from the App Store *I understand this would be tricky, not fussed though if it cant be done*
    -Customised Start screen layout
I have tried the Copy Profile tag in the Unattend.xml and syspreped the machine, this did not work.
I have tried using the new "Start Screen Layout" Group Policy object, this also did not work
The Closest I can get was to setup a user profile, Backup the Default User profile, Rename the User I worked on to "Default", Clean up the temp folder, then navigate through the user registry and replaced any absolute profile paths with the %USERPROFILE%
variable. This worked in terms of setting the layout of the start screen, but the Lync App was not present, and Windows 8 apps, eg Video, Music and IE, would crash when attempting to open them.
I know I am doing something wrong, so any advice would be much appreciated.
    Thankyou

Still not getting the results that I want, to recap I am trying to do the following.
Create a Windows 8.1 Enterprise Standard Operating Environment (SOE) Image for laptop devices at our school. These devices will be in the Students hands 24/7 and will be joined to our Windows 2012 based domain.
I am trying to create a custom Default user profile for the image so that when a student logs onto the Laptop for the first time they get a start screen that we have created.
The start screen consists of Pre-installed Modern Apps, a modern app created by our Software team that is side-loaded, Office 2013 Applications, and most importantly Tiles for Websites such as our Learning Management System and Intranet Portal.
    Now to the issues
I boot the target system into Audit mode, and setup the start screen accordingly. For the Websites,
I open the websites in the IE11 Modern app and use the built in control to pin the site to the start screen. Everything goes and looks as expected.
I then run sysprep with a custom unattend.xml with copyprofile inside it. Again everything runs as expected.
Now when I create a new user on the system the custom start screen appears however the websites that were pinned are no longer on the start screen. BUT when I manually open the Modern IE11 app, navigate to the website and pin the site, The Tile now appears
on the start screen in the location I put it.
    <Rant>
Now this puts us in a situation where we can no longer deliver a Standard Operating environment for not just our managed laptops but also our labs where a student just wants to logon and get to work.
Why as a Desktop and System Administrator, who manages a fleet of 300+ Desktops and 1000+ Laptops do I not have the full power to customise things they way I want them.
Yes I am aware of the new Group Policy setting for deploying Start screen configurations, Doesn't work when Web sites are pinned
Yes I am aware of AppsFolderLayout.bin, Doesn't work for Pinned sites.
Do the links above to Microsoft TechNet articles explaining how to customise Start Screens help, No they do not.
Finally I am aware that I can just create a shortcut to the websites and pin those, the issue is that this does not utilise the new Live Tile code that was introduced with IE11 and we plan to use these Tiles as another notification system for our staff and
    students.
I will continue to work on this, if I manage to find a solution myself I will post the process, however if anyone in the community, or from Microsoft for that matter, has a proven solution to pinning websites to the default user profiles start screen, please
    post it.

    Thankyou

  • Jabber 4 Everyone default service profile

    Hello all,
A customer running UCM 9.1.2 with IM&P 9.1.2. They have rolled out Jabber Desktop as the default application for IM and Presence for the organization. We have setup several "SERVICE PROFILES" inside of UCM to differentiate between Ehanced Presence for employees that have both IP Phones and Jabber, and just Regular Presence for employees that do not have an IP Phone on the system. We made the Regular Presence the "DEFAULT SERVICE PROFILE" and then we ran a bulk update to update all users "currently" in the directory to have the option
HOME CLUSTER and ENABLE User for Unified CM IM and Presence.
CUCM is AD integrated so all the users come from AD
The issue we are experiencing is for any new hires, the account gets created in AD then eventually sync'ed into CUCM. We can't find a switch that allows us to make sure new users have certain "DEFAULT USER" settings namely "HOME CLUSTER" and "Enable User for Unified CM IM and Presence. So these new users are not getting this setting and can not login to Jabber until this occures
    Thanks

    Hi Ryan,
I have the same issue and at the moment no solution for that.
I have a bulk user template, so everytime new users come in, I bulk the setting over the new users.
Would be nice to see, if someone has another solution.
    Best regards
    Ben

  • Using copyprofile to customize the default user profile

Well to get to the problem I'll just explain what I do, which doesn't work.
    1. I install windows 8.1 pro (x64) on a test-pc.
    2. After installation I press cntrl shift f3 to get into audit mode.
    3. I install all software/drivers etc. I also place shortcuts and change the background.
    4. I insert my usb, which contains a file called "unattend.xml" in which this is written:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <unattend xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend">
        <settings pass="specialize">
            <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup" processorArchitecture="amd64" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
                <CopyProfile>true</CopyProfile>
            </component>
        </settings>
        <cpi:offlineImage cpi:source="wim:e:/usb/windows%207%20en%208/win81pro/sources/install.wim#Windows 8.1 Pro (x64)" xmlns:cpi="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:cpi" />
    </unattend>
    5. After that I use CMD and use this command: C:\windows\system32\sysprep\sysprep /oobe /generalize /shutdown /unattend:F:\unattend.xml
    6. when it is done working and turns off, I turn it back on and walk through the oobe. After that my shortcuts and background are standard windows 8.1 and not the ones I used.
Can anyone see what I did wrong? I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks!
Btw: This unattend.xml file is created with windows system image manager of the same install.wim which is used to install that OS.
Note: If I generalize a pc after an installation, doesn't that cancel the activation? So when I bring it to a customer he needs to fill in the activation key?

    Hi,
After the step 5 (I mean after we customize the default user profile and reference PC sutts down), generally as I know, we should then capture image, you can boot into Windows PE and then capture the Windows installation by using DISM.
See full guide in the link below
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-in/library/hh825135.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
The article also contains some conditions in which user profile settings aren't successfully copied, such as you can not use a domain account, there are no additional user accounts other than the built-in administrator account that you configured,, etc and
sysprep will remove all the security settings of your Windows including windows activation.

  • Canon 5d2 DNG +custom profiles = bad preview in Bridge?

I'm using DNG Profile Editor (1.0.0.39 Beta 2) to make custom profiles for my new Canon 5D Mark II, and then using DNG Converter (5.2) plus Photoshop CS3 Bridge to process images. All on Windows XP.
After my 5D2 custom profiles were in place I noticed that the image preview in Bridge CS3 was "bad." The Bridge preview is very blurry and does not update when changes are made to the DNG file via ACR. For example, if I change exposure in ACR and click "Done" or "Open in Photoshop, the change is saved OK in the DNG file but the Bridge preview remains the original blurry image.
Took a long time to figure this out because I did not immediately associate the problem with the creation of custom profiles. Older 5D2 DNG files previewed OK in Bridge, as did DNG files from my other cameras. I even re-converted some old camera raw files to DNG and they previewed OK in Bridge. There are custom profiles in place for those older cameras.
I spent a lot of time on the usual suspects - purging cache, reseting preferences. All to no avail. Then I removed all my custom profiles and deleted the index.dat file. Ran DNG converter again to make new DNG files from the 5D2 raw. Now the Bridge preview was OK. Then I restored my custom profiles and converted raw to DNG again, getting bad Bridge previews again. Yet the previous converted files would still preview OK in Bridge.
My conclusion: The DNG converter is using camera profiles during the conversion, and in the case of 5D Mark II raw files is creating an error. I'm guessing it is putting an embedded jpeg in the DNG file that somehow confuses Bridge.
I've repeated the tests many times now. I've changed the DNG Converter "jpeg preview" preference to none, medium and full. For the 5D2 files I get bad Bridge previews on all settings. But I get good Bridge previews on my Canon 20D and Canon 1Ds DNG files regardless of any settings. Regardless of the presence or absence of custom profiles, regardless of the jpeg preview size, regardless of the ACR default settings.
So I'm hoping the Adobe team can take a look at this. Or anyone willing to confirm or deny my tests. I don't have an easy way to post a DNG file, but could email one of my "bad" ones to anyone willing to take a look.

The lack of response to this post forced me to keep testing. Now I've more closely pinpointed the problem and found an easy work around. First some background.
ACR camera profiles are stored in two places. The Adobe supplied profiles are in:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles
and your custom profiles are in:
    C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles
Adobe Camera Raw, and it turns out the DNG Converter, both build an Index.dat file in this last folder. Apparently this index is built by scanning both camera profile directory trees and building a list of all the profiles it finds. It then sorts that list alphabetically by the profile name that is embedded in the file, not the Windows file name.
The "Adobe Standard" profile for a camera has a file name like "Canon EOS 5D Mark II Adobe Standard.dcp", but embedded in that file is the profile name of just "Adobe Standard". That's why only "Adobe Standard" shows up in the drop down list of profiles in ACR. And that's why "Adobe Standard" appears before "Camera Faithful", which appears before "Camera Landscape". It's alphabetical order.
Now, when you create a custom profile with the DNG Profile Editor, the "Export" function puts "Canon EOS 5D Mark II" on the front of the name. If you are an idiot, like me, you type over all that with something simple like "5D2 Bouce Flash" for the profile name. But wait, "5D2 Bounce Flash" sorts alphabetically before "Adobe Standard" and appears first in the ACR drop down menu. Sounds OK so far.
But then the magic occurs. The DNG converter uses the camera profiles. It actually accesses that Index.dat file, and if it does not exist, the DNG converter will rebuild it, just like ACR. Why it does that I can't imagine. Seems to me that the DNG converter should be simply converting raw to DNG and passing the EXIF and embedded camera jpeg along as is. What need does it have for camera profiles?
Anyhow, if that 5D2 profile is first in the list due to its alpahbetical name, the resulting DNG file will confuse Bridge. Bridge will display a fuzzy preview and will never update that preview, or the thumbnail, when you make adjustments in ACR.
But if you name the 5D2 custom profile such that it sorts alphabetically after "Adobe Standard", then all is OK. The DNG files can be previewed and thumbed OK by Bridge. So I named my custom profile "My 5D2 Bounce Flash", a simple workaround.
Now I can move on to more important things. Like generating a good custom profile for the 5D2. So far the Adobe Standard profile beats anything I've generated. Especailly if I remove that curious Point Curve which can sometimes muck up the shadows.
And now that Bridge previews are "OK" I can work on the mystery of why Bridge Previews of 5D2 DNG files do not match the previews of their equivalent TIF or PSD files. If you're curious you can see samples and read more about that here: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1032&message=30748423

  • Peculiar attitude selecting a value from custom profile ...

    Hi,
I have a very strange situation in which sometimes the selection of a row of the lov on the default form of the EBS 11.5.10.(setting profile values, sysadmin responsibility, profiles->system) is not accepted and the lov appears again suddenly...
More specifically, as application developer responsibility we have defined a custom profile(setting a sql query, so as the user->the sysadmin should select from a custom table of a custom application).
Afterwards, as sysdamin resp. , the user should select a value for the profile from the lov defined and setting it at the responsibility level.(default form : Profile->system).
    Sometimes, but unfortunately the circumstances or the conditions are not reproducible, although the value the user desires and finds it in the lov, when selected the system does not accept it.... and the lov window re-appears ... the user selects it again and the lov appears again....and again...as the value selected from the lov is not valid....{but it is selected from the lov and there is no problem in the majority of cases....}
Does anybody have the slightest idea....a patch maybe...???
    Note: I use EBS 11.5.10, DB 10g v.2
I hope , i have described the problem so as to be understandable....
    Thank you,
    Sim

    Sim,
What is the client OS and browser? Can you reproduce the issue on multiple clients with different username?
Can you find any errors in application/database log files?
Can you reproduce the issue on a test (cloned) instance? If yes, I would suggest you enable debug and see if you can produce the issue and collect more details.
You may also enable debug on JRE/Jinitiator and see if any errors are logged (see Note: 549423.1 - How to enable tracing and logging for Sun JRE (Native Plug-in)).

  • Drawing with a custom profile stroke is not working for me. Does it work for you?

Drawing with a custom profile stroke is not working for me. Does it work for you?
I can only apply it on an existing stroke but can't draw a new one with the selected profile. In fact if I change the profile to other than the default Uniform I also can't draw a new stroke with any other width than the default 1 point. This doesn't seem normal.
    Using SC5 on a PC.

Another question on the same topic.
Once I add a new profile to the list is it possible to put it on top of the list. I need this because the Adobe people decided to put the list in a tiny scrollable window with only a few of the first profiles showing. If there is noting in the interface may be I have to modify some program files settings?

  • Is it possible to deploy a default Custom Layout template?

I was asked if we could deploy a Default Custom Layout template for Adobe Profiles .  So that when creating Firm Portfolios they are standardized?  It would be nice if it were defaulted and they didn’t have to choose the Layout.
Thanks in advance for any info
    Ed

    Hi Chris,
Looking through the BPEL client API, I think it might be possible to change the process state via java code. I say might, because the documentation is not that splendid. The IBPELProcessHandle interface has a method updateMetaData which allows you to change the state, among other things. I have not tried this yet so the solution a little theoretical.Sorry for that :-\
Then, when you have your java class working, you can create an Ant task for it and invoke your Ant task in the build.xml, right after the deployment target.
    Kind regards,

  • Can't see user id in Application server after enabling default user profile

    Hi,
We have implemented SSO and during that implementation, we had to enable the default user profiles so that the request can move from the web server to the app server without authentication. So as a result of this, we are not able to see the user id for all the logged in users in application server. It shows as "Forgot Password" (which is the name of default profile) for all the connections. Is there anything we can do to see the logged in users user id instead of "Forgot Password"?

    Hi Daniel!
I understand that the result you see in the Worklist monitor doesn't help.Did you try the recommendation in the FAQ.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/mi/mobile application faq/mam client faq.faq#q-4
If it doesnot help, try the following
(1)In the SPRO under MAM Customizing settings, go in to
"Assign Orders and Stocks to a Technician" and then double click the "Assignment Profile(Assigned to your MAM User ID in User dependant data)"  and change the Order Assignment & Notification Assignment to "User-->Employee Number", if it is assigned to a Work Center OR a Planner Group. You can reset this back to the original settings later if required.
    (2)Replicate the MAM25_090 & MAM25_095 via transaction MEREP_EX_REPLIC in the middleware.
    (3) Synchronize the data from your MI Client
    (4) If no data exists Monitor your Worklist as you did earlier.
    Let me know.

  • RGB to CYMK Custom Profile to Generate Specific Black Ink Mix 60/40/40/100

It seems simple. I could swear I used to do this 15 years ago in Photoshop 4 (not CS4). This is just not going so well...
I am working in Photoshop CS5 (for Mac) and am having a hard time with a particular RGB to CMYK conversion. Once turned into CMYK, I want my darkest, richest black to be a 60C 40M 40Y 100K mix. But I cannot find a way to make this happen.
The image came to me as RGB with an sRGB profile. To convert to CMYK, I am using the US Web Coated SWOP v2 profile (I have tried others... just using this as an example), but I am not getting a black that is close to what I want.
    RGB black converts into 75C 68M 67Y 90K. Even the "K" is not at a full 100%.
I cannot figure out how to force the black to be the numbers that I want. Can I do this? Can I create a custom, specialized profile without a spectrometer?
I know how to get to the custom profile dialog (by going to Color Settings, going to CMYK in the Working Spaces, clicking the pop-up and selecting "Custom CMYK" at the top. You get the screen called "Custom CMYK" with the Ink Options and Separation Options and the Grey Ramp). I just cannot find any thorough information in the User Manual that I downloaded from Adobe on what all of these controls do.
I have tried doing the conversion and then using levels to adjust the four channels closer to what I want, but this is damaging the quality of the shading in the image.
Any thoughts or places to start? Thanks in advance.
BTW, I could have chosen to go with a CMYK rich black of 25C 25M 25Y 100K if that makes things easier for some reason.

    @Jeff:
One of the problems with this is that Photoshop forces you to make your custom profile based off of an existing profile. So I looked around and I found that when using the US Web Coated SWOP profile I mentioned, I would turn RGB black into this:
    75C 68M 67Y 90K
Even the Black values aren't ramped up to full 100% there!
So I changed to Photoshop 4 CMYK default and I get:
    62C 50M 49Y 100K
This is much better for me, and I do get the full Black on the key plate.
I may have to use this, as I doubt that I am going to be able to do what I want without a massive research project and a bunch of numerical hoo-doo-guru.
Any additional suggestions would be great!

  • Customer Profiles -- R12 Conversion

    Hello All,
I am working on R12 Customer Conversions.
As part of this, i am trying to load the customer profile amounts at levels. 1. Account Level 2. Site Level
At Account Level, When ever i create a new account defaultly a new record is creating in hz_customer_profiles for the account_id. And i am passing 'cust_account_profile_id' to the hz_customer_profile_v2pub.create_cust_profile_amt. And able to do create customer profile amounts successfully.
    But

    but its not doing so.
Could you please tell is there any setup for Creating HZ_CUSTOMER_PROFILES while creating SITE Use.
    Please help me in this.
    Thank you,
    Aush

    Hi Aush,
There is not specific setup for the same. You might not using the APIs correctly. Did you use hz_cust_account_site_v2pub.create_cust_acct_site API to create site? Once you create the site, you need to defined the site use using api, hz_cust_account_site_v2pub.create_cust_site_use. This Site use api will insert the record into HZ_CUSTOMER_PROFILES for the site record.
Once you create the site use, then you can define the profile amount using hz_customer_profile_v2pub.create_cust_profile_am API. Hope this is helps you.

  • Beginner - need help with custom profiles

I've got 30-day demo versions of both Aperture and Lightroom trying to work out which is best for printing using custom profiles I've had done for a selection of textured art papers for use on my Epson R2400. I've read the printing documentation for both products.
In Aperture, I select print from the menu and open the print dialogue window. Then I open the printer settings window choosing the correct media and switching off Epson 'Color Adjustment' and saving the settings. Then I'm selecting my color profile from Aperture's 'ColorSync Profile' option in the print window and making sure 'Black Point Compensation' is selected. Then I'm pressing print.
In Lightroom 2, I select print from the menu and scroll down to the 'Color Management' tab in the print module. Here I'm choosing my custom profile from the drop down list and setting rendering intent as 'Perceptual'. On clicking the print button the default print window opens and I'm switching off Epson 'Color Adjustment' and selecting my preferred paper type. Then I'm pressing print.
Now I will admit that I'm new to printing with profiles and a complete newbie to Aperture and Lightroom. However, my prints from Lightroom are absolutely perfect, but colours are differing in Aperture prints. In particular, prints are slightly lighter and washed-out. I'm wondering if I might be missing a step somewhere in Aperture? It seems strange that both applications follow roughly the same print procedure yet I'm getting different results using the same profiles and images. I'd much rather use Aperture so I'm trying to seek an explanation for the change in colors.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

A lot of people including me have had problems in this area. There may have been some problems but in my case I was so absorbed in trying different solutions it is hard to say what worked when.
This works for me using an HP 9180:
    1. In the View drop down select Printing Profile and choose your paper. This step is not critical but can be helpful.
    2. select Print Image and we will work through the menu in sequence.
    3. Select your printer
    4. Click on Print settings
Click on the Cover Page arrows and you will be given a number of other choices. Select Paper Type/Quality. Select your paper and possibly adjust the other values but generally I leave these alone unless i specifically want Borderless printing.
    Click save
    5. back on the print menu select paper size. I usually select best fit next.
    6. Select Colorsync Profile and again select your paper.
    7. Keep Black Point clicked on.
    8. I find that I need to set my Gamma between 1.10 and 1.20.
    9. I usually click on the Loupe and check to see if Sharpening is needed.
    10. Adjust scaling and width to your needs.
    11. I then Print as I have not found that Previewing helps me to improve my Workflow.
It may all seem straightforward but this now works for me.
When this all started there were many saying how important it was to calibrate the screen, many tried this but is still did not help solve the problem. From what i understand all the Canon printers are capable of giving excellent results with Aperture. i hope that you join the community of satosfied users. Good luck.
